Was so good!!! You can tell the staff take pride in their work and want to be there. They were friendly and fast. The food was delicious. You can order by the QR code at the table or at the counter. I would definitely go back. Probably not have the English muffin thing again as that was a bit heavy but the other stuff looked great! Milkshake was really good.

A Canberra institution. Great atmosphere and the food is good. Best nachos we’ve had in a while. The only let down was they don’t do cocktails. Cocktails are a must when you have a live jazz pianist.
J. T.
I live in Brisbane and every time I visit Canberra I move heaven and earth to visit my favourite Cafe in Canberra. Fantastic coffee, great ambience and just an round wonderful spot to hang out.
A. R.
Food and atmosphere were fantastic. A great range of seating options made this a great place to have lunch. Highly recommend!
S. R.
A hidden surprise. Set of the main stretch of the streets. My partner actually found this place and invited me to join him.
The meal range isn't huge with a few very interesting combinations of food. The Bloody Mary fried Chicken being amounts the range is highly recommended to anyone wanting to try something quite different. Entrees where very large size for price but not of high quality.
The drinks range is quite large for a venue like this one but does lack a few basic options such as Chai latte. They do have a large range of other teas though and a few different beers on tap.
I definitely think we will be back. Loved the atmosphere here, friendly staff and the piano in the middle of the room.
H.
Very nice place to have breakfast with lots of atmosphere. There was plenty of bacon in my bacon and eggs.. loved the huge mushroom. Coffee was ok.
L. S.
Since 1984, consistently good food, coffee, liquor & thoughtful service. Sprawling venue. NY-style brass, dark and rich, unchanged in all that time. Occasional live jazz but, at other times, the sound system and music playlist is relaxing and conducive to conversation, thought, card games and, if the mood strikes, writing. Good outdoor seating with some cover. No wifi but phone signal good. Updated toilet facilties.
S. C.
Great service. Accidentally paid twice after online service said payment failed. Staff figured out the problem very quickly and refunded with cash quickly. Above expectations.

Gorgeous setting. Feel like you are on a movie set! Came here for a late dinner and was thoroughly surprised. Had the vegan burger and it was superb. Lovely tasty lentil pattie and plenty of greens. Their coffee was surprisingly great too! Highly recommended if you are looking for something different in Canberra. Great for groups or intimate date nights.

Busy restaurant especially for breakfast. Tilley's is a Canberra institution frequented by regulars. Book a table if you don't want to stand around awkwardly. Seating is available in the main restaurant, but there is also an outside area which is cosy in spring and summer. Food is ok, cheap and hot. Orders are made at the counter and delivered by friendly staff. Coffee, which you have to carry to your table is of acceptable quality.
T. F.
Excellent atmosphere, food and staff. Was a great way to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon. Definitely would go back!
L. G.
A hidden surprise in the back streets. Decent vegan options but not brilliant. Service was good and fast. Chips are nice but burger could have more flavour. Parking was easy.
E. C.
We went here on Saturday night bit busy but was nice. Food is average but the atmosphere is lovely. Love musics 😍 You need to book a table on Friday and Saturday night otherwise won’t get a seat or there are lots of tables available at outside.
D. S.
The atmosphere of this place is lovely, it has a nice design and relaxing music, but the food and drink options are sparse and expensive which is a real shame.

We've had two pleasant and generous meals at Tilley's recently. Dinner with a glass of very nice wine was very good indeed. I particularly enjoyed the mussels. Today we had a very filling and delicious breakfast. The panini was huge, and the coffees nice. I'd have liked the coffees served to the table instead of having to wait for them, but that's a minor issue. The service otherwise was extremely friendly and efficient. I'll go there again.
J. D.
This place does have a great chilled out ambience, it's a nice environment. Good place to meet friends.
But man the food is so expensive for what it is. A burger was $20 and it was just... Boring and cut rate.
I guess you're paying for the vibes in the end.
D. G.
Nice place to sit back with a refined beer and a burger (huge) and plan your vacation from winter with friends. The guy playing the piano the evening I was there was good and seemed very enthusiastic with his selection of pieces. The booths are a bit on the cozy side, but comfortable. Prices .... Well if you want cheap, go to McDonald's
L. W.
Lovely staff, delicious coffee and the atmosphere is always relaxed but cool enough to make you feel inspired.
N. O.
Tilley's is completely open now and has extended afternoon hours. One of the few places in North Canberra where you can get a coffee after 3pm, or an alcoholic drink if you'd prefer. Same excellent ambiance, jazz in the background, good food (if still somewhat limited menu) and fast professional service. So lucky it exists.
M. M.
One of Canberra's greatest institutions. Good coffee, pretty good food, unique ambience, and you can sit here all day without being bugged by wait staff. Counter staff can sometimes seem to radiate a bit of a man-hating vibe. Or maybe that's only my imagination, but the last time I was here the girl who served me wouldn't even look at me. Maybe she was just having a bad day.
Regardless of the attitude some staff may or may not have, I highly recommend visiting Tilley's at least once for tourists and locals alike. It is essential Canberra.
B. M.
Lovely location for a relaxing coffee and danish. Average coffee so enjoy the ambience or food.
T. M.
Look. It's OK. But they're open on public holidays, so I ain't complain.
L. M.
Hi. Tilleys need a good clean up outside. .if you have the money some new tables and chairs outside. U have good staff and food. Sorry.
A. W.
Great place for a drink or a coffee and casual dining experience with a good menu selection and tasty food. Staff were polite and friendly. Quite a few people on the day we visited so a very popular choice for a Sunday catch up with friends and family. We enjoyed the experience.
B. A.
Not a bad selection of food but the place could do with a revamp.
S. V.
Love this cafe...great for a quick coffee, tea and cake, or meeting friends for brunch or weekend meal. Has been a staple in Canberra for 30+ years. Cosy booths, outdoor dining, with an ambience and background music relevant to a bygone jazz era! Definitely recommend!
C.
Love the ambience here. Prices are on the steep side but its delicious, so hey you get what you pay for! 😋. Outdoor area is furkid friendly, excellent for brunch on a weekend.
Had one bad experience with the waitress - borderline racist - but it was just that one time/girl so, all is good😇
S. C.
I took the grandies for a treat early morning before school. My disappointment was I had to take the children to the restroom and when we came back our food and hot chocolates were cleared. We were lucky to be away 5 minutes. I think the food prices are on the high side.
J. W.
Surprising jazz club in suburban Canberra! Very nice. Friendly service and cosy seating.
T. R.
I Love this cafè I always go here. The staff here are lovely, welcoming and kind. The food is very delicious but a bit pricey, not too bad though. You could say this cafè is quite fancy, it's one to dine in or meetup with family and friends. Never had one bad experience here yet! It's also funny that I'm related to Tilly Devine
C. K.
This place is a Canberra institution. Awesome vibe on a Saturday night with live Jazz performing. Coffee is hit or miss depending on who makes it but generally pretty good. Menu is very basic and doesn't fit in with the old school esthetic but always has a pretty ripper vegan curry for those of that lifestyle.
Fantastic place to meet a friend or even just to read or study while relaxing and soaking in the old world Jazz charms.
B. J.
Coffee wasnt as good as i remeber, used to be my go to in lyneham might have to try next door again
I. S.
Just had a coffee but okay. Pleasant atmosphere sitting outside
L. G.
Canberra's best coffee. Friendly staff. Great ambience. My favourite place for a catch up.
G. B.
Amezing music! Makes you travel back in time, wanna have a 1920s feel come and check it out
C. D.
Great place. Awesome bar with booths as well. Had poached eggs with hollandaise on really nice ciabatta toast. I think this was $16.
Good atmosphere.
Good service.
f.
I really enjoyed my vegan curry today. Served with a friendly smile, covid safe protocols observed, the outdoor area, discreet and cooling to our cycling legs. The meal, sensibly priced was tasty and hit the spot. Coffee was good too. All in a pleasurable experience, and great to see and old style signature LGBTQ + legendary restaurant still going strong.
N. J.
Delicious food and coffee, super fast service
H. M. M.
Absolutely amazing atmosphere. A old style lounge with a piano on the stage. They do breakfast and lunch here. The portions look small but they are filling. The staff and lovely and super helpful if there is a mix up. A must come for out of towners in the area
M. T.
The food is amazing! I had some fried chicken on a waffle with a lush coleslaw. The seated areas outside are very comfortable and great spaces for socialising on warm days. Inside is also lovely with easy music played whilst you hang with friends or sit and do some reading.
S.
Lovely staff and generally good food! Good coffee too! Would love to see more variety and complexity in the food and some live music which would the atmosphere promises but does not deliver.
D. C.
Great atmosphere on a Friday night after work with lively conversation back my live piano. Happy hour prices were half price beer and house wine. Food is a little expensive for what you get. I had the smoked pork hock, taste was good but the portion size left me hungry and most of the pork was fat/grissle. My partner's burger was good and side of chips were probably the best item we had. If I go again I'd just have a few drinks and a bowl of chips.
B. S.
Coffee and cocktails and food.
Red velvet curtains on brass rails, leather chairs, grand piano on small stage.
When they close, they leave the tables and chairs outside and allow you to keep your carafe of water and glasses. I've seen multiple tables still occupied an hour after closing.
A. K.
It's a nice place to have a seat and have a coffee. Don't expect the food to be outstanding. Coffee is okay only. But the interior of the place gives a good feeling. One male server was very nice. Most waiting staff were not bad. Oh the English breakfast was of a smaller portion, not like that in the UK.
J. W.
Atmosphere and ambience was great. Food and coffee not quite as good (for me anyway). The Mr T was quite dry with the bun over toasted and the halloumi very thin. Everyone else enjoyed their orders (hot cakes in particular) so maybe I just didn’t order as well 🤷🏻♂️
M. S.
Always a nice place to meet but the food menu is limited and uninspiring.
L. K.
Love this place. It is full of chatacter with a vibe that cannot be matched in Canberra. Coffee is excellent as is the ever changing fresh tastes from the menu board. A great place to meet friends or hide away in a secluded booth and read the paper.
D. P.
Such a relaxed vibe, great staff easygoing but efficient
A. P.
We have eaten here many times and we always love it.
S. D.
Consider this more as a guide- been for feeds twice this week. First visit burger rocked, second visit burger was reasonable but the chips where the left overs all brown and over fried. Parents chill potato’s was slapped on the plate with no care or centring. Love is lacking to match a atmosphere you could stay in all day. Love to see some love put into their food as the simple garnishes are what are killing the vibe. Love to see more beers on tap.
D. T.
I’ve been going to Tilley’s for over 20 years. I love this place and am thankful to have it as my local. Ambience is everything here and there is nowhere else in Canberra like it. Staff are friendly, food is good and drinks are plenty.
v. g.
Love Tilleys coz they serve coffee till late...and good quality coffee!
K. J.
I've spent many lazy afternoons and mornings here, and have also spent some evenings working here with a group at a table. Service is always immpecable and the atmosphere relaxed. Staff are welcoming and coffee is great!
L. P.
5 stars for ambience and beer selection/prices, 2 stars for food. This place is a Canberra institution and I'm so glad it still exists. It was bumpin on a Friday night and we enjoyed a nice jazz pianist performance. Happy hour was amazing - $6 pints from 5:30-6:30. By 7oclock it was packed out and had a nice vibe. Unfortunately the food was below average. We ordered three greasy share options (fried chicken, zucchini balls and potato skins) and the zucchini was the best of the lot. The portions were small and frankly the food just was not tasty. Will come back and try a burger next time though my expectations will be much lower.
M. A.
Satisfied and always sated. Brilliant, still a great atmosphere during the working week, enjoy the lunches and the fact that you can still have a conversation without competing with the noise. on our last visit I remembered and enjoy my companions discussion, my selected meal and all in an environment that comfortable supports the dining experience.
m. b.
Hadn't been to Tilleys in a good 10 years, nothing has changed. Service was fast(we did only order drinks). Thw only negative, indoor seating was not at capacity but the room was muggy.
M. E.
I had the double beef burger and it was amazing! All of the flavours worked really well together and it was a good amount of food for the price. Everyone I was with enjoyed their meals as well.
The atmosphere was enjoyable and the staff behind the bar were super sweet. Unfortunately the live jazz band were playing very loudly so it s difficult to hold a conversation, but the music was good.
K. C.
Always a lively place to enjoy a meal and the atmosphere
P. B.
Happening, varied menu pretty popular gets busy at night so booking advisable. Nice atmosphere, piano and music, although not heard a life band there.. recommended
N. M.
Definitely a safe space for LGBTQ+ folks with some amazing coffee, beer, food and performances from local entertainers. What more could you want?
🏳️🌈 🍺 🎵
N. D.
Always good coffee and good service. I have eaten here several times over the years and have never been disappointed.
S. L.
one of the best beef burgers I've ever had! onion jam was delicious and the beef perfectly medium/medium-rare
D. C.
This is purely a food rating. The menu is limited but has a good range of interesting and non-traditional type cafe food, which is great. But the execution from the kitchen is poor, I’ve often had meals served cold, the latest example was a lukewarm potato skin nachos. Excellent flavour but let down with cold food.
R. R.
My husband and I go to Tilley's for a meal most weeks. The food is always amazing! fresh and innovative. They usually have some great healthy options for vegetarians too. The ingredients are often unusual so you get lots of different flavour bursts in your mouth which is delicious. Love this place,
L. G.
Great place for weekend breakfast, food and atmosphere excellent
W. A.
Good coffee with lots of outdoor seating.
R. R.
Great atmosphere. Coffee is decent. Did not try the food. Will do another review the next time
A. T.
What an amazing place with such a great atmosphere. The food was fantastic and I really enjoyed my time here. The place was established in 1985 and I suspect looks much the same as back then. The decor could use an upscale but it suites the space.
C. D.
Great lunch. Nice music. Always a pleasant vibe. Plenty of dry out door tables on this wet day.
Staff always neat, tidy and pleasant.
Furnishings are getting a tiny bit scuffed but in the gloomy ambience you hardly notice 😊
G. F.
A Canberra gem, this place doesn't change, and that's why we like it.
A. T.
Food was good. Service friendly. Coffee mediocre, considering it cost $4. would have given it a better rating, however the way of ordering food is highly convoluted. You need to order food at the bar, but then you have to wait for coffee... Then go back to your table to wait for food. So there's lots of people milling around the bar and it's very crowded
s. c.
We love Tilly's! The food and service is always the best! We are never disappointed! Coffee is so good. My favorite is the breakfast menu. Scrambled eggs with feta and chilli so simple but my absolute favorite dish.
B. Q.
A nice little trip down memory lane to drop in yesterday for coffee with a friend. Always loved the decor, ambience, friendly staff, reasonable prices.
The only negative was when the piped music suddenly went from pleasant to ear-bleeding loud. Staff were very slow off the mark to respond, even when my friend brought it to their attention.
Then I mentioned it.
And still after that it was pumping out of one speaker at a level more conversant with a rowdy pub than a chilled jazz cafe. Anyway, I'll try to get back for the Saturday night jazz.
K. L.
Breakfasts were delicious and arrived quickly. Coffee flavour was good but the milk texture was poor - sea foamy and not at all sense. The fact that you have to stand and wait for your drinks while about three staff members walk around looking bored and another seems to be responsible for delivering cutlery is completely bizarre, without this strange method of operating a cafe I'd give it an extra star.
T. R.
This place is wonderful. Super cosy and classy, the small booths provide a wonderful feel of intimacy, and the tables scattered around the place allow for best performance seating. I have been going here for years and I am never disappointed with the quality of food, service or coffee.
L.
Tilleys is a good place to go with your friends or workmates to hangout after work or during break. It's a pretty chill place that serves meals and very delicious desserts and drinks. It's got a heated outdoor area and a heated indoor area which the indoor area also has a band playing at times. The food comes decently fast but not surprisingly fast. The food tastes good and looks good If you want to show your friends how cool you are eating a salad.
H. R.
My favourite place in Canberra. Great food and great atmosphere. The wedges are to die for! Parking can be a bit of a hassle sometimes but still well worth it. Everything is pretty reasonably priced, and the service has always been friendly and welcoming. Most of the time there's good choice of seating, without it feeling like a ghost town, just well designed with plenty of different choices on where to sit (I personally like it outside). They also have great cakes and desserts, and the music they play is just perfect for the decor, although it can feel a bit dark at times. Great little escape and something a bit different to your run of the mill cafe.
S. S.
Long established cafe. Nice decor and ambience. Menu was pretty limited.
Tasty food. Love the retro long seats near windows. Private and exclusive.
K. C.
Dinner Friday night was superb .. lovely mango chicken salad, followed by a great hot chocolate and chocolate cake. Yum. Thank you.
I first went to Tilley's Devine in Oct 1986. Each time I live in Canberra I return here and find comfort in catching up with Paully and having a nice meal, in a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. To have jazz music playing in the background and to see such familiar faces is wonderful.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Team Tilley's Devine.
C. B.
Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. OK menu and food. Popular place in the area with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Best to make a booking if there is more than 4 of you going. Can be hard to talk with the level of noise and ecco from others. Live music on some nights. Coffee is OK and service is neither rude or warm.
R. J.
Very delicious poached eggs on toast for only $12 which I thought was reasonable . Lovely atmosphere. Piano being played
M. S.
Tilley's Devine Cafe has been around for a long time. Always full of people meeting up for coffee or lunch. Nice place to have breakfast/lunch on Saturday morning. Nostalgic music played all day.
A. M.
Best atmosphere to hang and chill. Love the coffee and jazzy tunes. Can spend a whole day here drinking with friends. Only downside is the awful poached egg 'disks' that are often overcooked. Not the best for food.
S. S.
Food was good but service terrible starting with ignoring our group reservation. We had to organise the table and chairs ourselves, sit in a dark spot crowded by superfluous tables and chairs. We cleared the table ourselves. All of destroyed the ambiance and reduced our enjoyment.
M. M.
I always enjoy my visits to Tilley's! It's a classic space, great for meetings or getting some work done. Their booths are great to pull up your laptop and write or read. The cakes are always worth a try! Quality food around the $20 mark. There are cheaper options if you are only looking for something small.
P. G.
Lovely place and really good coffee.
A real shame you have to walk through smokers to go in.
Would help if Tilley's placed a sand ashtray away from the entrances to encourage a smoke free entrance.
Hopefully the ACT will follow NSW's lead and have a 4 metre exclusion zone.
W. M.
Tilley's is an institution known by many folks even those of us who live outside of ACT. I have been coming here for approx 20 years and I'm never dissappointed. Besides the wonderful food, no-fuss but friendly and efficient staff, good choice of wines etc - it's the decor and relaxed vibe that I love. Everything else these days has a polished concrete fit-out (which creates excess NOISE and feels cold), they all look 'same-y' and many have Hip staff trying to show how cool they are, who DO NOT understand what 'service' is (check: many venues on Kingston Foreshore or most venues in inner-Sydney). It's also SPACIOUS, you can sit outside or inside, THEY HAVE BOOTHS to sit in (best to call and book one of those in advance) and there is a great second hand Bookstore right next door. I got to meet Pauline recently and thank her for the years of hard work. Tilley's is a bit like a Joni Mitchell song - it's always 'been there' for us who cherish her and need that space. Finally - the Bloody Mary Chicken is amazing - the mix of flavours is a delight !!!! Thank you Pauline, Chef Mel and the Team !!!!!
h. g.
Tilley's is nice. Food is okay, atmosphere is fabulous, jazz trio playing when I went. I is more bar than cafe in terms of service ~ you need to go to the counter to get attention, generally
N. N.
Tasty food presented well, decent service. Drinks aren't brought out to tables though which is weird - after ordering coffees, for example, you have to wait near the bar until your drink is done then take it back to the table yourself.
G. “. W.
Favourite spot in Canberra
Great atmosphere and varied menu
Great meeting place. Gpod access. Parking not bad either.
G. J.
Service slow, but Ok, outside seating is good. Staff generally pleasant. It supplies water bowls for furry friends.
D. M.
It's nice and homey. The jazz ambiance is chill. They let us play our games there.
D.
Atmosphere: great.
Food: mediocre and limited in range.
Coffee: not the greatest, by any means.
Alcohol: fine.
Other: no wifi access, being a quaint (non)addition.
Summary: a venue surviving off the back of its less tangible qualities, and which would, of little doubt, be brought to improve it's less spiritual offerings in the face of greater local competition.
E. T.
I have been coming here for over two decades and they never disappoint. The food and drinks are dicious, great for vegetarians. It is also a great place for doggos to make new friends :)
E. R.
A sentimental favourite of mine and a Canberra institution. The food isn't great, but there's something for everyone, heaps of tables, a great vibe and family friendly. Great for studying too (I see heaps of uni students on their laptops here).
E. B.
Spent 10 months in Canberra from Broken Hill. Had breakfast most mornings at Tilleys because I remembered it from when I worked here 20 years ago. Absolutely love the atmosphere and so many delightful memories.
The staff at the counter were friendly and helpful and I found the menu most enticing and loved the coffee.
I will miss it when I go back home next week.

Tilley's has good food, on my most recent visit I had scrambled eggs with feta and chilli with a side of Tasmanian salmon. Yummmm
H. D.
Great food options, plenty for restricted diets. Love the atmosphere. The fans under the lights made my eyes a little uncomfortable and the toilets need redoing.
J. B.
Cozy, warm, inviting and intimate. Great music, obviously enjoyed by all. Nice meal, smooth shiraz. Diverse and friendly patrons and staff. Lovely way to spend a chilly Canberra evening.
A. B.
Bit expensive but worth it for the old timey vibes. Good work Paulie. Wish I could work there I love the outfits.
R. G.
A great place to have a coffee and chill out with jazz music in the background. A note though, you might want to push the 4PM closing out a bit as I saw a lot of ppl come after the doors shut
E. E.
Classic salon music mixed with the mumbling of customers enjoying their morning breakfast. Straight up a good experience
I. G.
One of my favourite places to hang out whenever I go to Canberra. You can be thete by yourself and read or whatever and wile away the hours without feeling you have to get out. The atmosphere is unique. The food and coffee great.
D.
Friendly staff and quick service. Coffee was pretty good but breakfast was pricey. Tasty baked beans but hollandaise and undercooked and slightly slimy bacon were a bit of a letdown. The place also desperately needs a facelift.
R. L.
Tilley's has really solidly good pub-style food. Nothing here will blow you away, but it's immensely well done, and satisfying. The atmosphere is just about the best canberra has to offer, and the prices are very reasonable. Service is always good. Well worth an evening of your time.
M. A.
You will love this cafe..So unique..and lucky to have it in our city . Fabulous food, coffee and cake with such a relaxing atmosphere of old world theatre. Plenty of relaxing areas outside also...Such a special spot.
J. P.
Nice staff, cool looking venue. The menu is simple but sufficient. Great place to meet and chat with friends.
J. A.
Good food but not cheap. Also, we didn't have to wait too long.
D. M.
A great place to grab a drink - coffee or something alcoholic are both on hand - or a bit to eat with friends and not feel pressured to hurry up and move on. They're welcoming of board games, and there's always some jazz singer doing old standards through the speakers.
P.
A great atmosphere and excellent food. We came. For breakfast and the place went from well occupied to bustling but retained a beautiful European atmosphere at all times. I can only imagine how great this place is during a live show.
t. k.
The menu is okay. I had the squid which was meant to have chilli but was not spicy besides the fresh chilli cut on top. The mushroom burger was quiet good though.
Good variety of alchol. Would rather go there for drinks than food.
Service was quick for food. But no effort put in otherwise.
P. C.
Nice place in Lyneham for a coffee and a chat. I feel the meals are slightly overpriced for what you receive, so am removing a star. However I always enjoy their coffee and occasional Jazz on a Saturday evening.
J. K.
Charming bar/café with plenty of seating inside and out, with booths inside. Good coffee, several gluten free cakes. I had the gf raspberry pear cake which is worth trying. Plenty of space to move wheelchairs and walkers around.
G. M.
Tilleys is pretty good really.... good cakes and food. Only real criticism is, like many places around town, the coffees are often disappointing. It's not too hard to warm cups and use a thermometer when doing milk.
R. P.
Tilleys was an interesting experience. The interior is outdated and dark, no table service and counter service entails you carry your own drinks back. Regardless the food was ok, scrambled was good. Coffee was decent, no competition for the rest of Canberra. Overall would not travel for but a decent cafe for a cheap local meal.
W. B.
One of our favorite restaurants in Canberra, for any meal of the day. Good food, good music, and friendly and efficient staff. We especially enjoy long, leisurely breakfasts on the weekend, and there's always something interesting and delicious on the Special's board.
M. L.
The jazz music and the atmosphere is unique to other cafes in the area...the service is pretty good and there a plenty of little tables if you want to study at the same time as you enjoy a glass of wine... fabulous!
j. l. w.
What can I say about Tilley's that has not already been said.
Great venue. Great location.
Great service, tasty menu, great wine choices and quality coffee!
Highly recommend.

Staff quite abrupt not friendly, long wait for a salad meal, no all day breakfast, noisy inside. Food delicious.
Tilleys needs to smarten up. Untidy around premises. Leaves lying around. Trees unwatered. Furniture needs attention, paint chipped. I have heard that staff are told not to fraternise with customers....bad call...customers appreciate friendly staff, personal attention.
S. M.
Lovely place to sit back, chat, and enjoy a quiet drink. Food menu is a little short and nothing overly exciting, but it's pretty tasty. Good place to catch up with friends.
L. W.
Brunch is very tasty and generous. Staff were friendly and the coffee is quite excellent. Other drinks were great and the dishes are of abundance i n variety.
L. M.
A unique atmosphere with friendly staff. Unfortunately the beans for the coffee were over roasted and had a charred taste. Obviously no reflection on the place, but they need to check their suppliers.
T. S.
Always found the food of a high standard
S. G.
Still tilleys. went for lunch and had a nice sandwich. sitting outside is really nice, and the staff are still mostly friendly.
great spot to catch up with friends, drop in at the end of a bike ride, grab lunch before heading off somewhere else. open all day.
S.
Good relaxing atmosphere with jazz playing in the back found. Live music on Saturday evenings. Good selection of drinks at the bar with decent meals. Friendly service.
A. M.
Great food and lovely atmosphere. Great decor, a real 30s jazz club kind of vibe. Everyone at my table enjoyed their food!
K. C.
Nice atmosphere and enjoyable coffee
K. H.
Nice place. Nice food. Very busy so a bit impersonal - not one staff member said hello- in fairness they were all working very hard so deserved 5 stars .
R. R.
Lovely atmosphere but the chips and salt n pepper squid were marked as 'gf' when in fact they shared same oil as other crumbed foods. For a coeliac thats always disheartening. GF veggie burger was ok but bread but tough as rocks.
M. B.
Aging but still got its charm. My favourite study nook tables in canberra (but no wifi). Coffee is ok, cakes are quite good and food is alright but a little on the pricey side for qhat you get.
R. D.
Wow what a hidden gem. This place is super popular with more than just the locals. When you walk into this place it will take you to another world one that you don't visit very often It's fun busy and definitely very cosy on a cold winters day.
M. K.
Cosy and laid back with a lovely ambience. A great selection of food from an often changing menu with a decent "specials" offering weekly. Fully licensed with an excellent tap beer selection.
S. H.
Love the vegetarian breakfast here!
M. C.
I love Tilleys, it's an icon of Canberra. I go there about 4 times a week for brekkie, and often for lunch and dinner so I know the food well. The food is divine, I really have no complaints. The scrambled eggs is well beaten and soft; salmon and eggs is delicious and generous. At present I'm loving the fish cakes as well as the lamb shanks which come on a bed of sweet potato rather than ordinary potato mash. I really love the atmosphere and it's so popular. It's grown several times in size since it opened 20 years ago and whilst I go through times of going elsewhere, I always head back to it. The booths are so big and pleasant to stretch out and read, you can have a little possie or a big table. I still go to music when it's on, I miss the fact that the musos aren't there as much. They occasionally have speakers there like the famous psychologist Dorothy Rowe and Raw Comedy. I think it's a really unique place just down the road.
c. c.
Coffee is a little average and food can be hit and miss. A little dirty around the edges. Perfect place for a beer and a catch up with friends
R.
Cozy interior and a great atmosphere. Both covered and open air outdoor seating areas. Food is a bit overpriced, but is a good place to go for a drink and a chat with friends.
J. E.
I had a delicious cheese cake and coffee. My cycling group enjoyed great conversation.
A. W.
I used to love this place. Still has great atmosphere & quick service but my first coffee was weak & the second bitter. Meal was ok but not hot enough.
P. F.
Great vibe and tasty food with generous portions. The staff are friendly and efficient. This is a lovely place to catch up with friends and chat over food, drinks, and music.
K. P.
Nice casual spot with good food and coffee. Wish they had more music nights. Could use a bit of a facelift, nothing drastic as that would take away from it's casual atmoshpere. Great calamari!
M. H.
Great food, fantastic atmosphere, awesome service, will definitely be back.
R. W.
Its a lovely atmosphere with plenty of seating inside and out. Quick nice coffee. Had the chilli eggs that were very nice too.
D. B.
Overpriced and kinda average food. No table service on coffee which I find very odd and irritating during busy times. Ok cafe but could definitely do with some improvements
J. S.
Foods okay, the menu has been pretty static. They have some vegan options but I find it pretty limited for breakfast. No table service only counter service.
M. A. A.
Amazing venue. Great food and service/ atmosphere. We regularly play board games and will be back.
L. A.
Top end lay out, attentive staff in relaxing surounds. Food and drinks to satisfy and you will want to go back there.
l. r.
Tilleys great atmosphere & decor. Rich cedar decor & chandelier lights. We sat outside & had shared plates terrific food & service. Enjoy tilleys
A. F.
Refined, relaxed and away from the hussle and bussle of the city. Very comfortable spot with friendly staff and a terrific menu.
A hidden gem.
N. M.
Tilley's is a local institution with a fascinating history. On Saturday nights they have a free jazz night. They serve coffee, alcohol and food, something for everyone.
B. P.
Great place for coffee, inside in winter and out side in the warmer months. Modern changing menu is great. Make sure you check out the daily specials.
C. F.
Super ordinary menu nothing i couldn't make at home. Not a single gluten free item on the menu. No salt or pepper offered. Over priced for what it was.
L. J.
I love the history of Tilly's. I find it to be a homey feel and very relaxed. Food is delicious and so are the desserts.
A. G.
Community, good wine, excellent snacks and Saturday night live jazz.
S. B.
Atmosphere and food vety good
S. T.
Great food and good atmosphere. Always a nice place to go when it's raining. Has a good vibe and the food is always good. Has great stables on the menu.
K. P.
Always good. Service and food and atmosphere all great, on this occasion for a relaxed early work team dinner.
N. B. (.
After all these years they still offer great food and I love the decor. Thank you.
s. k.
I had no idea this place existed till just the other day, and I'll be honest I'm a little upset no one told me. This place is amazing. Had a milkshake from here, probably the best milkshake in Canberra.
J. N.
Easy parking. Hard seats. I thought the plate of bits and pieces was overpriced at $25 - it contained I reckon $10-$15 worth of food - cheese, prosciutto, crackers, olives, and capers.
W. G.
Loved the atmosphere and the live piano. Food was well priced and yum.
W. S.
Great spot for a quiet catch up with friends
S. V.
Great ambience, good coffee.
k. h.
A little over priced and over zealous with the posters informing patrons OK kids behaving... Which they don't stick to anyway 😔 toilets need a renovation yesterday. It's OK for a visit or two but I don't make a beeline for it
M. V. H.
Beautiful burger and sweet potato chips.
Gorgeous sunny day eating outside.
J. R.
A lively history, lovely atmosphere, and great staff allows one to overlook the average coffee. Good food, particularly for breakfast.
R. C.
Quick service, good coffee. Lots of people there.
C.
Good service & great coffee
R. I.

A great place to meet friends for a drink after work, as there is a wide variety of table arrangements both inside and out. Good food!
V. Y.
Great atmosphere. Very relaxed vibe. Good food but the menu hasn't changed in a while.
J. H.
Tilly’s has such an amazing vibe. There are a few vegetarian options and the portion sizes are huge. The wine selection is great too.
G. N.
Great food, service and coffee. Always an enjoyable experience everytime I come here.
And named after an interesting lady.
I. H.
A true gem of Canberra. A relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere. Perfect for a drink with friends, a celebration or a casual meal.

Good food, great vibe. Id like to visit them outside covid times. I'll go again.
F. M.
Enjoyable place to start the day
J. R.
Tilleys retro feel is starting to just look dated now but as usual the food was great. Staff were well presented but the service was average.
M. B.
Great food in one of Canberra's most iconic locations. Breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner Tilleys never fails to deliver.
C. B.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Coffee is a bit daggy, but adds to the charm maybe?
P. M.
A bit iconic in Canberra. If visiting try and check it out. If you live here you either love it or are wrong. Coffee went funny for a while, hopefully sorting that out!
J. S.
Great atmosphere. Lots of seating. Great coffee and food.
S. R.
The chilli feta was not as good as it usually is they forgot the chilli for one thing

Best cafe in Canberra. Food is amazing, vibe is amazing and they have live music all the time.

Have not been here for years. Nicely maintained. good value meals and drinks. Nice place to meet people.
F. R.
I loove Tilley's i feel like its even my 4 month old's natural habitat we spend so much time there, but it i wush it had a nappy change area.

Food menu is old & boring! But atmosphere is still great even if the furniture & fittings are worn, old & not comfortable.
J. K.
Canberran Institution . Dimly lit, with a classic interior. Well dressed and polite stuff. Can recommend the calamari and any of the cakes.

Loved it. Great old world seeing. Felt like I was back in the thirties. Food is good too.
C. G.
A funky place...and they let you sit as long as you want. Food is OK, not great but OK. One of the older places in Canberra.
C. T.
It's got a nice vibe and the staff were helpful. I would not recommend the scrambled tofu though
E. H.
It's not as good as it used to be. Coffee was good, but fish and chips only average. Cramped inside.
M. M.
The Tilley's burger is delicious. The atmosphere is great and the staff are always friendly.

It's about the vibe and the cake.. food is fine too sadly the live music doesn't exist here any more..

I think the best word I could use was eclectic. Reasonable food at reasonable prices but the decor... old and quirky. Think I was in a time warp.
T. G.
