Had lunch here with my partner, after moving into the area. Great views of the Derwent River. This restaurant is right on the water. Tables and cutlery were clean and relaxing atmosphere. Good service and fresh food served. I had crispy skin salmon with a warm salad which was excellent. My partner had the fish and chips, which was battered but not oily. The fish was pink ling. Will dine here again. Good options on the menu as well if you don't like seafood.

Coffee was very poor (long black with no Crema) toby from tobies estate would not be happy if he saw this quality of coffee produced, food was mediocre. It's a lovely venue and outlook and staff were friendly.

The house-made crumpets are a must. They were light and fluffy but so tasty and perfectly complemented by the bacon, maple syrup and mascarpone. The chai wasn't just a powder, but the spices / tea brewed in milk. My wife and I both agreed that this was our best breakfast in / around Hobart for the 4 days of our stay.

Disappointed with food choices and quality. Service was great. Venue amazing. Felt lunch menu very limited. My caesar salad was not to my taste at all and quite expensive for what it was. Had to ask for more dressing to finish. Breakfast menu more appealing. Maybe needs to be breakfast until 3.00? I am also a fan of small/large meals as I have had bariatric surgery. No one likes wasting food.

5 stars for coffee, service and location but a point off for the food. The special was yellow fin tuna but was cooked well done, but service was excellent when I asked about this - they remade it really quickly to rare. However the flavours were lacking and overall just a bit of an underwhelming dish (needed some better sides). My wife had the salmon poke bowl which she enjoyed.

Great lunch spot right on the Derwent. Great view, food, and staff. One of our go to lunch spots every time we get to Tassie. Last two times we have been here I have had the beef fillet and loved it so went for a third today, not disappointed, one of the best steak meals I have ever had. My partners meal was a salad warm potato/asparagus salad with seared Atlantic Salmon and she loved it! Bonus today was a pod of dolphins playing in front of the restaurant in the Derwent River, quite something! Well worth a visit, highly recommended.

It's great to have this venue open during the day, as it used to be a restaurant for evenings only. The view is superb, total waterfront. There are plenty of tables. You order and pay at the counter from a long blackboard. The selection of food available is vast, so it takes a while to choose. I have been twice since Seagrass opened, once for coffee and once for lunch. I chose the Poke bowl with tofu, which was delicious and my friend chose an asian inspired salad with poached chicken, which she said was excellent. Great wine list, great food and friendly staff. I'm going back for my birthday lunch in a weeks time. I was told that it is a 'reservation free' establishment, unless you have a large group (20+) It's so nice to have a quality cafe/restaurant in this beautifully scenic area.

Seagrass has only been open for the last few weeks. The Restaurant decor has changed for the better and these photos are of the previous restaurant called Prossers. We had fish and chips which was great. The service was excellent and wait staff were young enthusiastic and extremely friendly. Seagrass caters for breakfast and lunch and the menu is not just seafood. With every new restaurant there are always a few teething problems so my suggestion would be go back again in a few weeks.

One of the best meals I have ever had and my wife assures me it WAS the best meal she's ever had. She had the scallops- told me she had never REALLY had scallops till she had them at Prosser's. Delicious. The prawns were amazing. I wanted to lick the plate they were that tasty. They were made in the most amazing sauce. Wonderful and most beautiful setting. We walked there along the beach from a friend's house. A perfect and delightful Tasmanian evening! I can not think how it could have been any better.

I hired Seagrass longpoint for my mums 60th surprise birthday. The events coordinator Judy was very helpful- keeping in touch regularly and making sure the event was tailored specifically to our needs. The night was absolutely perfect they had friendly welcoming staff who made the flow of the evening work very well. The food was delicious and great value for money. And being right on the water created the perfect back drop. Couldn’t recommend it more highly!

Really disappointing. $19 for avo on toast with an egg (they forgot the feta) and $5 for one slice of haloumi. Isn't even real avocado. The coffee is really good, as is the view. The staff were also lovely but wouldnt come back for food.

We were a party of 7 were not able to pre-book a table , two of the party were older ladies and the lift was out of order- had been for some time apparently - counter meal style ordering for drinks and food which were okay but nothing extraordinary then back to order coffee and dessert which was very poor - waffles were burnt and carrot cake was like the Simpson desert when I asked for cream to soften it somewhat I was told that was extra 1.50 !!! I don't think so
