It's a very busy cafe (I came on a Wednesday and it was packed) with one FOH and one barista that occasionally needs to run coffee on his own and take orders when the FOH staff is busy.(which would then slow down the coffee making process) It is a small town cafe so they're either doing their best to accommodate the situation, or they're just simply understaffed)
The interior design and overall service was pretty great, coffee is ok, environment is 10/10! I forgot my keepcup though, and their coffee cup quality wasn't able to contain the heat so it did get pretty hot and a bit hard to hold it🔥
They have some nice outdoor spaces and I love how they have the water saving hand basin in the toilet!
Pretty sad that I didn't get to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere a bit more as it was pretty busy, will definitely come back again next time 🤞

Stopped in for a morning coffee on the way through, the inside has been painted and has a great feel to it. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, coffee was very good and we ended up snagging two cakes as well!

Fabulous food and coffee with equally wonderful and friendly staff. Great service, value and atmosphere. Close to the River with lovely views of old boats. Will certainly be back. Thanks for an excellent brunch.

Had an absolutely beautiful lunch here today, a real gem, great quality throughout the Cafe from the building to the food served.

Fabulous. The whole package. Coffee, food, decor, culture, service. Worth coming back to Port Sorell to go there again. Simple smart menu perfectly executed.

This is a TARDIS of a cafe...you round the bend in sleepy Port Sorel along the estuary, amongst residential shacks and homes and see this unadorned bunker of a concrete structure, with it's newly stripped and oiled double wooden doors hinting at a transformation within......and when you step inside, you could swear you just walked into some funky space in Melbourne or Sydney.....the roaring log heater a hint of where you still are.
Service was A1, making my guest and myself feel as if they'd been waiting just for us, with fab food to match.
It is now on the list for my drives out of town and the venue to share and create special moments with friends.
The river across the road was picturesque...reflections spectacular too.

I can't speak highly enough of the staff, Venue and the food. Everything is done exceptionally well. I expected it to be a pretentious overpriced experience with poor service but I was pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing and the service was 10/10. The venue is spotless and you felt quite relaxed to be there which was great.

Always a lovely experience at this venue. The food is great. The venue is light, airy, welcoming and relaxed. Perfect place to meet up with a friend for a chat, enjoy lovely food, drinks or a treat.

Lovely interior space, with an outdoor seating area as well for those with pets. Good selection for brunch and lots of sweet treats to chose from. All the food was well presented and tasted great.

I like this place. Secluded location, with a laid back vibe. Its good coffee, clean and tasteful design with a small menu focused on healthy full flavours. Its a great little bike ride from the main Shearwater drag, and a great holiday destination if you like that uppermarket trendy feel. Great owners and friendly staff.

A beautiful Cafe serving up the best coffee in the Port Sorell / Shearwater area and a superb breakfast. The smashed avo the best I've come across. Ever.

Very cute cafe in a quiet town, good aesthetic.
Average tasting coffee and very small servings for takeaway cup sizes. It shouldn’t be the same price for takeaway and sit down if the cup size is going to be much smaller than the mug it is served in if you are eating in.
The sliders were really good and fair priced, however the second time we went we got the waffles for takeaway, and while ordering, the server was a bit rude and impatient when asking “which flavour do you want”, when the menu just lists all of the flavours (ie, banana, whipped cream, Nutella, mixed fruit, ice cream, almonds) with no “or” anywhere on the menu indicating that it’s either/or. For a hefty price of $19, I naturally assumed it came with them all -My bad apparently! I chose banana, and received just that. 2 waffles and a banana for $19 😅 They could have at least thrown in some Nutella?? Yikes.. Definitely won’t be ordering that again.

Stopped in on our way out of town. Beautiful space, great coffee, and a very kind owner. Talked to these guys for just a few minutes and could talk to them the rest of the day! Worth a drive out of the way for the level of craft they bring to the table!

Tidy and modern cafe setting with enthusiastic young operators who are clearly proud of their business and work hard to do the best for their customer. Pricing is about average for a Tasmanian cafe (i.e. on the high side compared to on the mainland), the portions manageable and not under or overwhelming in quantity. The staff were lively and chatty, the coffee very good and my wife thought the smashed avo possibly the best she has ever eaten, anywhere (and she's eaten a few of them..). Presentation of the cafe and their food is excellent.

I am a very fussy coffee drinker: nothing but a single- shot ristretto will do. It’s a risky approach because any flaws in the beans, the machine set-up, or the barista’s skill will be really apparent.
No flaws at all in the coffee at Workshop! This is outstanding coffee, served in a comfortable setting in a quiet, relaxing off-the-main-drag location on the Esplanade.
A really excellent cafe

Absolutely Fabulous! Tucked on the corner opposite a gorgeous estuary we find this gem.
Coffee, food are top shelf. The atmosphere is great. We came out of our way to return. Ps: Best turmeric latte I’ve had to date. And the innovative toilet was another plus.👍🏽

Relaxed, simple and the smashed avo is by far the best we have had on the NW coast. Definitely worth the drive. Will be back again.

Wonderfully friendly family run cafe, with a good choice of breakfast, great coffee and some surprisingly exotic drinks. Reasonable price and first rate service. I had the breakfast slider and it was tasty.
S. J.
The coffee is excellent and so is the smashed avocado. You pay top price for NW Tas. The hours are quite limited Wed-Sat closes 3pm and often all tables are fully booked. But if you can get a table, it is a lovely place for brunch with classy decor.

Fortunately arrived in time today with 6 of our Flat Water Paddlers group to enjoy great coffee ,hot chocolate and and Chai with treats.
Thumbs up from all .Wonderful ambience food drinks and friendly service.
Will be back.👍🛶🤗

Amazing food, atmosphere and service. Favourite coffee spot!

Good food and coffee. Young staff that could do with honing their customer service skills. Has pleasant outdoor area, if you have children to entertain. Near the riverfront, although not outstanding views

Delicious food and hot drinks catering to a variety of different dietary requirements. Brendan and Catherine have worked for so long to bring this cafe to life and it is a testament to their commitment and hard work! Well done guys!

Food was nice but for lunch would really have liked a few more options from the all day breakfast menu. Not everyone wants eggs etc for lunch.
A salad or wrap would have been great even some pasta maybe.

We dropped in spontaneously this arvo for the best coffee we have experienced in the area! Definitely coming back to sample some sumptuos delights off the brunch menu soon Great space, service and cherry smiles..well done !!
