Lovely little hut Cafe. Warm and friendly, soft relaxing music. You have to try the lamb roll, it is slow cooked over 10 hrs I think. So tender & delicious. Also scones jam and cream... So fresh! Yum!

Love it here! Good vegan and vegetarian options.
I walked in and asked for something vegan and got a delicious focaccia with mince and veggies on it. They also had vegan curry or soup. Great selection of locally made drinks in the fridge including apple juice and ginger beer. Thanks so much!

Amazing warm welcoming little hut. Owners are lovely and their scones are dynamite . Huge 😁
My coffee was lovely and made to my request . Spot on !! Very rare ... My son's burger was awesome he said. Very tasty and juicy. Home made !! 😋😋 Definitely stop in on your way through, prices are great. They sell so many local goods to. But check for days they are closed. You won't be disappointed 😊

What an interesting place, what an experience. A 50/ 50 choice between the beef and the lamb and that choice was taken of our hands beef it was lol. It was so good. Great milkshake but definitely recommendations the scones.Lovely couple

Popped in far a quick take away coffee and morning sweet and ended meeting the nicest owners of this wonderful cafe. Found out it was built by a husband and wife team. You would think the building was historic but is only a few years old, it has a lovely soul. Their care, pride and attention is apparent and felt even from just our modest takeaway coffees. We will be back to enjoy a meal very soon. ..... Thinking the lamb 🤔

Don’t drive past this place without stopping for a bite to eat! We drove past in the evening on our way to the Edge of the World to see the sunset, saw the sign advertising the bacon and egg roll, so we decided to stop by for breakfast the next morning on the way to Stanley. We weren’t disappointed. Friendly service, cool little place with charm and character, and the food and coffee were delicious. Highly recommend it.

That was a treat! Curried potato soup was excellent, pancakes with rhubarb delicious. Nice building, staff delightful. Spoke with the owner Tracy who told me she and her husband designed the building, sourced the timber from neighbours and built it in 2017. Great feel and very good food. Pity I’m not a local :)

Friendly staff, Lovely atmosphere and delicious Devonshire tea

The most amazing food at a little stop beside the highway. Friendly service, fabulous food, and a hidden gem that we plan on returning too.
E. C.
Beautiful spot to stop along the highway. Hidden and thankful for it, a peaceful place with excellent food! Wish I had more time in this part of the world to return. Highly recommend the pumpkin soup and lamb roll.
L. C.
Very friendly owners, and a variety of tasty dishes with many ingredients fresh from their own garden. They also stock a range of local wares. The hut itself is a recently built bespoke marvel.

We just happened to stumble across this place when heading to Boat Harbour Beach and we’re so glad we did, it really is a blink and you’ll miss it location. The staff were friendly and the food had that really nice homemade quality. We had the beef roll and there were lots of other things on the menu that looked appealing. Our only suggestion is that the beef should have been served on a sturdier roll, rather than a Turkish roll (still yummy though!).

Lovely cute little place off the road. Was impressed my the good range of vegetation options. The veg curry was delicious and came with a small poppadom which was a lovely touch. Nice music and calm atmosphere.

I can't rate this place enough. Absolutely warms my heart and my belly when I walk in . Been there twice from Sydney now and love the warm atmosphere, great food and warm hospitality.
Thanks again for the great curry pumpkin soup and 5 spice soup to warm us up. 😀

The Thistle Hut is a unique rustic cafe. We really enjoyed morning tea there today Thankyou.

What a cafe should be.
Absolutely fantastic service, great coffee and a wonderful split pea and veg soup with bread to die for.
Lovely family owned business with a warm atmosphere and a selection of thistle-themed gifts.
Will be back!!

This rustic little place built by the owner is an absolute find. Food is amazingly fresh, coffee is on point and sweet treats are homemade. A must stop on your way to Boat Harbour and further west.

Such a beautiful spot, slow cooked lamb roll was divine. A cost little place on the side of the road. Very charming.

A few friends and I came up from Hobart for the tulip festival this year, and had a lovely time, and Thistle Hut was by far the highlight of our trip! The owners were so lovely and accommodating, happy to provide vegan options! The food is amazing, and the atmosphere is lovely. The dogs are beautiful and very friendly! We will definitely be coming back on our next road trip!

we were desperately looking for a place to have dinner when we found this cute little place along the road. as we entered we asked if we could have something to eat, without realizing that it was close for a private event. anyway the lady was so nice to give us some of their food (basically what was left) because she knew we shouldn't easily find anything open.... and she made us leave without paying!! we were very grateful for her kindness! Besides, the food was really good.
I totally recommend this place :)

This is the definition of a home cooked meal. Cozy and homely little cafe with a really great choice of options and lovely staff. Will definitely be back

Awesome place selling lots of interesting unique products and local sprayfree produce. A lovely Grass Roots establishment, using quality ingredients and proper tasting soul food. A little gem, which has added value to the North West of Tasmania. Don't drive past!!
J. P.
This was a perfect breakfast stop, with delicious food and drinks, particularly the coffee. The owners were very friendly and hospitable. The sharing big breakfast was a great idea for those with competing appetites!

From the moment you walk in you are greeted with a warm embrace. Tracey and Kerry make you feel at home. The Thistle Hut is a beautiful timber structured Cafe and the fire is always alight. Id recommend it for all ages.
J. G.
It was wonderful meeting Tracy and Kerry at their beautiful 'Thistle Hut' cafe at Boat Harbour. Their handcrafted building with it's delightful interior and furniture was sooo welcoming. We were lucky enough to get the table by the fire where we enjoyed a freshly prepared, hearty and nutrious meal. The 'Thistle Hut' is definitely a must visit on your travels to the north west coast. Thank you Tracy and Kerry for a wonderfully warm experience - we will definitely be returning. Tom and Jan (Sunshine Coast QLD)

This cute place was selling homemade kimchi in a jar, $15-18 which would probably be $3 in a Korean grocery in town. It tasted very very old even for a Korean, probably from last year. I’d give a thumb-up for the owners’ interests and efforts but not for the price. Was a very sweet place. Coffee was good!
P. G.
Called into this place, open on Good Friday, well worth the visit, had the special pulled lamb roll...to die for! Lovely couple run this hidden gem of a farmhouse cafe...loads of interesting goodies for sale and to view. Highly recommend you call in. Paul & Cheryl, Perth, WA.
T. A.

Friendly staff, very good coffee, SUPERB food. Not large meals, but holy moly, they were to die for. I was glad I didn’t get a drink so I could savour the aftertaste. It was busy but for good reason, SO worth the stop!
K. M.
A really nice cafe in the middle of nowhere, quite a lovely surprise 😊 Food was tasty and price reasonable, it had an interesting hipster-hillbillie mashup style. Definitely recommend!
G. G.
