A very nice cafe. The hot chocolate was delicious, and was decorated with chocolate running down the inside. The bacon and eggs were delicious but the toast could have been toasted for longer. It was situated in a little alley and was quite cute.

Located strategically on Degraves Street, Cafe Andiamo had on their menu a range of brunch and lunch meals. The eggs Benedict and coffee I ordered were quite decent, but nothing too outstanding. Service was pretty friendly.

One of the gems of Degraves St! Tasty breaky and very nice coffee to be had. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and meals came out pretty quickly given how busy it was!

Right in the foodie area on Degraves street, Cafe Andiamo served some great food (the meat pizza was delicious!), and the staff were incredible! We had a baby stroller with us and struggled for space down the busy side street, and the staff were great in helping us and ultimately cleared a larger table to accomodate. Very friendly service and an enjoyable lunch here.

The long black was average. The mocha was VERY GOOD to be honest. The location and ambiance can't be beat. What ruined it for me was the indifferent, if not RUDE, servers. They need the owners and patrons to make them understand that their paychecks come from the patrons. If you hate your job, QUIT so that you don't ruin the experience for anyone. Other than that, not bad.

The restaurant looks great with seating outside on the walkway, the staff were excellent from start to finish. I ordered a beer which nice and cold and came straight away and a meat lovers pizza and that’s when it went downhill the pizza was not great at all and for $24 I was expecting a fantastic loaded pizza unfortunately it was a little bland it had a few meats covered by cheese.

The food was ok depending on the dish ordered. My friends ordered the steak and pasta, both said it was quite nice. I got the parma and thought it lacked flavour. The chicken was a bit dry, the ham lacked quality smoked taste, and the cheese didn't really have a strong bitey taste. Portion size for all our meals was big which was good. We also got garlic bread, but again, didn't find it that great. The bread was nice, but the butter and garlic flavours were a bit dull. The service was good and food came out quickly. The atmosphere was ok, nothing special. The tables were very cramped inside which made on always on edge of bumping someone on a surrounding table.

3.8 out of 5. This is an iconic Degraves Street cafe by now, I suppose. It’s well known and well regarded. It was mighty chilly mid morning in the Melbourne CBD, 6 degrees C with an evil breeze wafting in between the tall buildings. Coat, scarf and gloves weather. It was time to get refuge when I spotted Cafe Andiamo. It was lovely, warm and toasty inside. The compact cafe had a really nice buzz too. The coffee is very good here - top class in fact - and it warmed me up a treat and delighted my tastebuds. The menu looked good with the usual brekkie standards and numerous Italian style dishes. There’s plenty of choice here for everyone. The food coming out looked a little bit prosaic though but then again that might be me mistaking looks for substance. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. This is a good solid Melbourne cafe is my overall impression. 😁

Was a bit disappointed here, the pizza dough was not given enough time to rise and was too thick. The waitress was a little rude and didn't wait to hear all the order for the table or wasn't in the mood to answer questions - might have been having a bad day. I ordered a cocktail which could have done with a stir. But the pasta was nice, the food edible and affordable in a nice location. A rather enjoyable meal, it just didn't meet my high pizza standards, but we all finished our food and found it somewhat flavoursome. If you're interested in matching the pictures, there's a margarita pizza, pasta alla panna, pasta al pescatore (has muscles on it) and pizza ai funghi (has salad on top).

Really lovely place. Ignore the other reviews, this place has gorgeous food and really good coffee - and they have oat milk! Loved my foccacia, great coffee, and water on arrival. Comfy woven rustic seats and round tables, really cosy even the outdoors section. It's my go-to in Degraves. I spoke to three staff members and they were all lovely, attentive, fast service and covid safe.

Terrible food and terrible service. Asked for a glass of water four times and was just ignored. Food was super slow to arrive and was missing items. The taste was very mediocre, best to walk past this one, there are so many more amazing places in degraves. Note: the waitress did give us a discount after we told her we were unsatisfied with the meal.

Second time i have been here for breakfast while in Melbourne for an appointment. This time i took my wife and son. Again it was grat service and a good solid breakfast. the service was personal and freindly and welcoming. They were quick to offer a coffee and the place was clean and tidy. The classico breakfast was a good choice for me and my wife with my son going for the complete package. All came out fresh and tasty. Thanks again.

Ordered a chicken Parma and a coffee. Coffee was good, except almost room temperature upon arrival. Would've been nicer hotter. Chicken was not a whole breast, but 100% reconstituted chicken breast, sauce was very rich and the toppings were perfect, but the quality of the meat really subtracted from the meal. I've also never had a salad that tasted like an antique store before but I did here. Chips were good tho.

You are paying for the expensive lease on every purchase, hence the prices and the owner underpays his staff with Asian workers at $10 an hour. Dont pull me around ever again. I took the trial because I was young. There are many great workers in Melbourne but money matters. Some of the bad reviews dont surprise me. The food is mediocre.

Standard food for standard pricing. Staff were friendly unfortunately the food wasn’t special. First time and unfortunately the last time as I’d be keen to check other ones around. Not convincing enough to return but I can’t say I was disappointed. Had a truffle pizza and chicken salad and both were ordinary. Pizza had the right intentions but base was over cooked and for what seemed to have the right ingredients It just didn’t hit the mark. Had a great experience at cafe andiamo today with my best friend. Since, we had a lot to catch up with, we were delaying to order and Stephanie the staff from the cafe was really patient with us and was smiling and cheerful all the time when she asked if we were ready to order. By the time, we were ready to order, it became quite busy with lot of customers at the cafe. Still , she came to us happily and took our order and served us without much delay. I would like to appreciate Stephanie's sincerity, dedication, patience and her positive attitude at work. Even the food was decent . Overall it was a great experience.

I go to Cafe Andiamo once in a blue moon (I live outer Melbourne Metro) usually whenever I go into Town. It's cosy, warm, inviting and yum. Wait staff are always pleasant whenever I go.

If there's one dish I'd recommend from this Cafe, it'll be the Tiramisu. It is massive - enough for 2 people, comes with its own espresso shot and is as delicious as it looks! The meals are quite good as well. Overall, the pleasant, comfortable Cafe with delectable food!

Nice coffee and good location, the only thing that I refer ordering was the toast as it came out Luke warm and it was a thick slices and the buyer and Vegemite where cold and hard so the buyer didn't melt on the first, you practically had toast with cold butter and Vegemite. Tourist fare and tourist service. I get that restaurants in touristy areas are typically paying over the odds in rent but why that necessarily translates into poor quality food and sub-standard service I don't understand. Pizza (Margherita) and pasta (Bolognese) are pretty simple dishes (we were with our 3 and 4 year old children), and whilst they were edible, they weren't good. This is all the more surprising given the staff are all Italian. On the service front, we asked for half-half pizza (we were sharing with the kids) but were told this was "not possible". Exactly why is a mystery, but we didn't push the subject. The only redeeming factor was that when we left a cardigan there, the staff had set it aside and gave it back to us with a smile when we returned to pick it up. (I would have said 2 stars otherwise).

Meh... The food was standard Italian fare and totally within expectation. No issue there at all. It was actually quite good! Sadly the experience was let down by the inattentive staff. No-one kept an eye on sections and I had to wait near half an hour to be served. The food came quite readily there after but it seemed that off duty servers that were eating in the restaurant seemed to be too good an opportunity/distraction to pass up for on duty staff. I had to literally set off fireworks or smoke signals every time I wanted attention.

Italian name but Asian management then, if you are looking for the authentic Italian pizza you'll be disappointed. Not cheap prices and the quality is about the meal. Salt&Prrer Calamari only taste of salt and fried oil, Caesar Salad is good, Grilled Chicken is very nice but a small portion of Spaghetti Pescatora $26 is too expensive and $15.50 for a Tiramisu is just unacceptable! I paid cash and I had to ask for the receipt. They are also tax smart.

Seating is a little cosy, but fine for a quick lunch. Service was very attentive and I was impressed with this. Would I recommend it: I'm not a fan of Degraves street on the whole, as I always feel you are paying somewhat for the experience and less so for the food, however, of all the cafes and restaurants there, this is definitely one of the better ones. Service is probably the best you will find in that area and the food is enjoyable.

Mornings are particularly busy here as everyone scrambles to get a slice of daily breakfast and their cup to go. How do you navigate the dizzying choices in Degraves? Follow your nose and sit down at the first available spot. Each section is served by a different cafe, so it’ll be interesting to see what you get every morning.
