Comments of Carriage Cafe Seville
J. T.
Located away from many local shops, secluded in the acreage. You will be surprised with this amazing Carriage Cafe build around the farm land. Choices of menu are very fresh and delicious too!
S. K.
It's a must visit Cafe. The old train is transformed into a coffee shop. The location and ambience is inviting. We had freshly brewed awesome coffee and muffins. Staff were great, several table seating available. They also had a great brekky in the menu, as we were on our run didn't want to indulge in food. Will go back again for a lovely brekky with family.
J.
Amazing repurposed train carriage into a breakfast diners / cafe. A must visit for nature lovers and a love for all things upcycled. Food was amazing too, do try the scones and bacon there!

Great Location for a Brekky in Seville.
Customer Service - Very friendly greeting on arrival. Ordering is done at the kitchen window not taken at the table.
Food - We all ordered the “Stopping All Stations Big Breakfast” Good amount of Bacon and scrambled eggs where ok. All was ok but a little cafeteria style taste.
Coffee - Coffee was nice (Hot! So good) but not real strong, no cream option but we did have our own so all good. Daughter did ask for Chai Latte and got Latte but that’s ok.
Venue - The concept of the train carriage and these elevated decks looking towards the Warburton Trail are very tranquil and relaxing. It’s a very nice spot. That’s the good. Where I sat on the end of the table (8am) there was constant water dripping on me from the roof, this was annoying but not anyone’s fault as it was condensation from the roof. Their was also wasps buzzing around us the whole time which seems to be a Seville thing as other cafe’s we have been at have the same problem.
Value for Money - Seems in line with a lot of Post COVID prices.
Overall beautiful setting 3 1/2 Stars

Wonderful brekkie and their milkshakes are just too good. Go here after an early morning hike. Quick tip: There is a local florist just nearby who makes beautifully customised bouquets if you are fond of freshly picked flowers.
A. L.
Great place for a bite to eat after visiting the area. Great friendly staffs and also with plenty of outdoor spaces.
Only 4 stars as the food is nothing special and the Benedict is all cooked through but other than that, a great place to visit with the kids.
D. M.
Beautiful location, fresh and tasty food. Friendly staff. Train carriage dining is great. Right next to Warburton rail trail. If you on hike bike or visiting by car stop by you won't regret it
J. H.
Great location, tasty snacks, refreshing drinks and friendly staff

Tucked away along the path into the bushes is this unique little cafe, almost a hidden gem.
Normally open for in carriage dining, the corona virus has forced more outside dining, beside the carriage. However, this just goes to show the length of which the restaurant keeps its patrons safe.
The food was fresh and varied with gnocchi, sandwiches and scones on the menu. I personally would have preferred more flavour in the gnocchi and cream for the scones however all in all it was a refreshing experience.
Bonus: since it's along a scenic bush walk, it's a great treat for a post exercise lunch!
S. S.
Such a cool place to visit, a cafe made out of an old train car (you can either dine in a cabin, or in covered but open seating right outside the train car). Menu is relatively interesting too, quality of food is decent although I wouldn't call it gourmet. It's a lovely 5-8 minute stroll from the carpark along the Warburton trail, the kids enjoyed the wild flowers and dandelions and we even saw a wild rabbit. Totally worth a visit especially with the kids. There even seemed to be "parking" for if you ride your horse there. :)
M. H.
If you haven't been here for a while, the coffee and Hot Chocolate are better than they used to be. Great spot to stop.
J. B.
A decomissioned train carriage with coupes transformed into dining areas. Absolutely wonderful experience, the kids will love it. We had the (fresh) scones, homemade icecream and gluten free cinnamon French toast. Wholesome and all freshly made. Just like at grandma's house.
H. W.
A train turns into a cafe. Due to COVID, outdoor seating only. Friendly staff and food wise, the chicken cutlets was dry and salad is not that fresh. The nacho lacks taste. The big breakfast however is worth it.
K. R.
It's located next to the Warburton rail trail. A great place to stop for lunch after a few kilometres of walking. Nice a little hidden gem, the surroundings are so peaceful and beautiful. Inexpensive but friendly service. Sweet chilli chicken is delicious, love it. But my friend ordered the rice noodles that size a bit small and lack of flavour. We will definitely re-visit it again.
J. K.
Food and coffees were subpar .. just like canteen foods. They didn't charge much so it was reasonable in a way. If you can grab seats within the carriage, it is a worthwhile experience. Go early if you want to beat the crowd.
D. S.
Love this place. Arrived early and had the entire place to ourselves, great food, definitely value for money big breakfast very tasty
C. K.
Not happy. Meals were way too big and great value for money. Try to keep that just between us as we don't want everyone to knowing.
A. S.
Just happened to bump into this cafe in the woods. Beautiful converted carriage into the cafe. Lovely staff with nice ambiance and great food
P. L.
Ever wanted to have a meal in a train? Yay, trains! Ahem. This cafe is a converted train carriage in really good shape. You can eat outside, also very nice. There are enough gluten free options, and vegetarians will be ok. The location is on a popular cycling trail, and you can park your bike here (as with all popular spots, do chain your bike up). You can even tether your horse here.
If you arrive by car, you'll have a walk of about 300m. I noticed they even leave umbrellas in the car park for guests to use.
A. B.
Good place for rest and top up with nice food.
J. M.
Magic little spot on the rail trail. Quirky cafe with cabins converted into tables. Plenty to see and huge servings for breakfast. Will be back!
M. P.
Such a lovely spot - so relaxing and tranquil! We had a latte and a dirty chai and both were delicious!
T. Y.
Interesting cafe with a real train carriage, it is next to the Warburton trail so it is a bit out of the way for me. Prices are reasonable: ice chocolate or ice mocha is $5.50, the bacon on toast is $13 and cinnamon French toast is $7; above average quality. You can bring a dog and horses are welcome too 😀
T. K.
Hard to find not much signage.
Beautiful setting surrounded by trees.
Very muddy in the seating on the grass.
Very quick & friendly service, delicious muffins but the coffee was average. Not much to choose from on the menu.
Pets welcomed which is nice.

Fantastic little place and ideal for a weekend brunch. Love the idea of eating inside an 1800s train carriage. Polite and friendly staff with tasty food and very reasonably priced! Would highly recommend as a nice day out. Would be great during spring and summer. I had the porterhouse with caramelized onion, pasta dura and salad! Winner all the way...
L. M.
Food it's reasonable price and really yummy..good service and friendly staffs.. it's busy, either you come early or wait for sit 😁 and it's like hidden in the forest 🤣🤣🤣🤣 U can walk follow the path and find the cafe.. it's beautiful place
P. S.
Place is alright. Good for a quick bite, sort of fancy in the middle of bush. The food is alright as well, nothing to write home about. Good and polite folk in the kitchen and taking orders.
N.
What an amazing experience this was. I had just run down the rail trail from Lillydale and this was my stop. Just an amazing way to use an old railway carriage. The atmosphere was great, as was the service and the food. You could tell how great it was by how many people were coming in. This is well worth the stop.

Cute little cafe built around an old train carriage. Couldn't go inside the carriage but the food and coffee were good.
Lovely outdoor space for a sunny day.

Lovely place, most of the visitors were bikers.. Lots and lots of toys all over the place, so it's really a kid friendly place. Hot chocolate was really nice.
S. R.
Great place to hangout. We have been to this place for my daughter's friend's birthday party. Good menu and nice coffee. We will visit once again.
A.
Nice food and lovely place to eat
S. S.
Great place to graze for 5 hours catching up with friends. Food is fantastic and friendly staff
J. B.
Really cool place in the Yarra Valley. You can eat in a booth in an old train carriage. There was a lot of toys to play with and a baby change table. The food and coffee were really ordinary, though. We really wanted to love it but I’m not sure that we would go back.
J. N.
The ambiance is really nice, a perfect breakfast hideaway
M. E.
Perfect refuge. A real old carriage with tiny platform. Perfectly preserved. Not pricy. Amazing landscape. Can be accessed by cycling track or car
P. C.
Awesome atmosphere with the carriage, surrounded by nature, place for dogs and horses, and their own sheep and goats!
Beautiful food as well!
G. P.
Beautiful position amongst the trees, great atmosphere good food coffee and service. Will be back in the future.
L. M.
Perfect stop on a long trail bike ride.

This place is like an oasis. We do the Lilydale to Warburton trail every year and a stop at the carriage cafe on the way back to Lilydale. Great iced coffee. Very relaxing out on the lawn.
M. E.
It was a novel experience, and worth doing once - however the food was pretty average and was cold by the time we got it.
Edit: Yep, it was obviously quite a few months ago. Good to know that's the owner's one take-away from my review though. 🤦♂️
A.
Great place to go for a meal. Food was alright, but it has a great surrounding, great for families.
J. J. N.
A very nice and tranquil setting. Will be back once carriage dine in is allowed again.
A. W.
Delicious coffee and cheesecake. Sit in the carriage if the suns beatin down on ya. More fun in there too ;)
J. C.
Brilliant place to stop on the Lilydale Warburton rail trail. Great play area for kids. An Agatha Christie-esque train carriage on site is very well kept.
D.
Great place to stop if you are out for a ride.
T. H.
Perfect stop on the rail trail. Delicious berry tart and super friendly service.
M. D.
Nice cafe with a real old carriage dining. Far from any parking, especially difficult if you are unable to walk. 5/10 walk to the cafe. Food was just OK, servings were so small for adults for the price. Outside seating, friendly staff and good service.
T. M.
Nice place, heated cabins inside and fresh air outside. Food was good except my Savoury French Freight Train was a pancake instead of french toast. Maybe next time.
G. A.
Friendly service, very helpful in a unique atmosphere. Good value for the food and coffee.
D. S.
Awseome place to stop after a long bike ride, great food and coffee.
C. M.
Extremely hard to find. We drove past twice and couldn't work out where to park or how to get in. Perhaps only accessible via foot (and doesn't have a car park?). So unfortunately, we had to give it a miss.
Information on google maps should be updated to make it more accessible and there should be signage on the road.
*changed rating to 4 stars after reply from business, although their reply doesn't change my earlier comments. Hopefully future customers will be able to find the carpark!*
A. P.
Excellent coffee, friendly staff and service
C. R.
Just off the Warburton trail very pretty setting. Outdoor seating with umbrellas kid friendly. Salmon crepe Mexican chicken and gnocchi all really tasty well presented. Service was quick and friendly.
B. J.
Great place to take the family or to just drop by for a cuppa
I. L.
The Carriage Cafe is a delightful venue in Seville which offers a unique cafe and dining experience in the Dandenong Ranges region. The ambiance and great customer service is refreshing and reminiscent of the bygone era represented by the rail carriage. We enjoyed a superb Devonshire cream tea which I am pleased to recommend to anyone.
O. M.
Love this place awesome food and staff.
r. m.
Beautiful place, excellent food and staff are just amazing
A. E.
Great service with good food in a very memorable setting. Absolutely lovely!
T. B.
Perfect, great coffee, ice water and a real milk shake, just what we needed
M. B.
Great place to take the kids! Heaps of space to run around for them, toys provided and a great kids menu too!
Make sure you take the gumboots and a change of clothes - the boys absolutely LOVED playing in the mud and it certainly showed!
As for the adults, good food choices and what I ordered was yummy, and next time I'd try something else because everything sounded great.
L.
Great halfway stop along the Lilydale to Warburton rail trail
C. L.
Beautiful sitting out on the deck watching the activities people are doing on the Warburton Trail. We saw a draft horse pulling a buggy, walkers. Horse and bike riders and even some one on grass ski's. It's a long but beautiful walk from the cars park so for elderly family members it could be quite daunting. We had perfect weather for the cafe. The train is a fun feature. Staff are friendly food is good. All in all worth the trip on a good day.
S. Q.
It looks like a rest stop for hiking and cycling, it's a good choice
C. O.
Always enjoy visiting this cafe. Food is good and menu has expanded to cater for the sweet tooth. Accommodation to park your horse, bike or dog.
Friendly staff and peaceful surroundings overlooking the Warburton Trail.
H. C.
Lovely venue, kids enjoyed playing in the carriage and also with the children's toys. Very relaxed. Food pretty basic old school style, but also inexpensive (child's lunch of sandwich, cupcake and juice $4), adult meals around $16. White bread, but with nice thick hand cut ham in the kids sandwiches. My mixed platter was a bit weird : corn chips and rice crackers were the only carbs, but it was enough food. Grandparents seemed happy with their egg and bacon breakfasts
J.
Food was great and the Cafe is lovely inside and out. The actual train carriage is beautifully preserved and maintained, with the wooden floors and wall panellings in great condition... I'm not so sure they'd of been so well maintained when in service. Outside there is plenty of space for kids and being right on the Warburton trail it's a perfect place to take a break. I'll be sure to visit again.
M. O.
Awesome place! I ride my bike down the warby trail and this place is always a good place to stop and have a drink and a breather.
M. T.
Great food and reasonably priced
P. S.
unique place to take the kids for food, see the horses and have a wander and explore. nice food, reasonably priced and good coffee and children friendly Good service and polite staff.
C. W.
Great atmosphere, coffee, & some vegan options on offer. A fun & unique cafe in a gorgeous part of the world!
G. A.
Happy 10th Birthday to you. Great celebration had excellent horse and carriage ride, good milkshakes and live music for their celebrating. Don't always expect live music but for a stop off on a walk or cycle this is a must along the Warburton Trail as the ambiance is just perfect.
L. H.
Idea was nice, the food was good but some what limited. The carriages where a little tight with four people order large plate meals.
Would be nice if the menu and servings where more inline to the era of the train, had a greater historical link to it.
Not overly breastfeeding friendly although there was an end of the carriage that was been used for storage which could have been retrofitted for this purpose.
v.
It's a very cute, pretty and cosy place. You can choose to sit inside an old train carriage. The western style of food is quite good but the Asian style ones aren't that good. I ordered a Thai noodle soup last time, it was small and it tasted bland and didn't taste very nice.
M. P.
This place is amazing a beautifully restored train carriage which reminded me of the old fashioned train movies it also had a huge out door deck where we sat
on top of all this the meals were very affordable.
only one problem if you don't ride a bike your unlikely to discover it.
D. J.
Best scones ever and very friendly people :-) We love this place!
A. F.
Beautiful place to stop on a bike ride. My son just loves having an ice cream in the old railway carriage that's been superbly converted. Will be coming back a few more times at least.
M. M.
Delightful service, location and food. Thanks We'll be back !!!!
D. C.
Excellent strawberry milkshakes.. recommended
K. L.
I love it... nice undercovered seating, raised so you can look at kids play at the playground. If it gets too cold, you can even sit inside the train. Very kids friendly. Highly recommended.
W. B.
Great place for afternoon tea. Home made scones and fresh cream. Be prepared for a bit of a walk along the Warburton trail or to and fro Seville in order to make the most of the experience .
Horse friendly too.
B. G.
Great concept and indoor/outdoor seating alternatives. Didn't try any food but coffee was quite weak and a bit 'earthy'. 6 people in the kitchen/prep/ordering area but only 1 was taking orders so we had a long wait in the cold. Friendly staff and would be 4 stars but for the coffee and slow service.
S. S.
Beautiful setting on private property with horses where you can sit inside an old original train in private compartments, but uncomfortable seating. Tables outside as well, but wasps are everywhere. They even have signs saying sorry. Unfortunately the menu is very limited, and service was less than it should have been. If you can find it, it's worth a visit for a scone and cup of something at least as an experience.
O. K.
Beautiful little cafe, an old train carriage converted into restaurant seating (although on a good day most people sit at the seating outside on the verandah). Nice espresso - about half the price of the espressos in Melbourne!
j. c.
Breakfasts need a slight tweak. The scrambled eggs need more 'eggs' added and more extras such as cream or even milk in the mix. You get fresh spinach, not cooked or wilted spinach which in my opinion is weird wirh breakfast...Some small changes would make having breakfast there soo much more enjoyable. Great setting, great staff but they need to learn a thing or two from a breakfast chef. Definately worth a visit though..
t. y.
Menu has limited options , chocolate shake was below average ,Nachos were good in quantity , Cinnamon toast good in taste , Mexican chicken was bland and need some more cooking
S. M.
What a fabulous coffee break spot, with dining options.
Loved kicking back on the verandah, enjoying brunch, in the bush setting, enjoying the Birdlife, as we dined.
The private dining options within the carriage were a great option in inclement weather.
A. J.
Absolutely excellent experience every time we go. Food is delicious and the staff are always friendly.
The kids request a visit to the Carriage Cafe as they love it just as much as we do.
S. C.
This is the best cafe I've ever been to the food is Devine and it's in a very picturesque part of melbourne:ride your bike and make this a must the breakfasts r beautiful generous serves and delicious this is a must love this cafe
c.
A little hard to find it but worth the effort. All our food was delicious. Right on the Warburton Bike trail, and even has parking for horses! Popular for all the right reasons. Worth taking the drive to Seville for the food!
C. N.
Lunch with friends, each meal was excellent, tasty and value for money. Friendly staff.
Nice and relaxing.
H. B.
An absolutely delightful oasis! Good food & service, and local knowledge is great.
The perfect place to stop for a snack, along the Warburton Trail, or drive there for somewhere unique and refreshing.
Parking is very limited but it's a short walk from the old Seville station, where adequate parking is available.
a. m.
We walked our dog along the Warburton trail to the Carriage Cafe for lunch last weekend. Enjoyed it so much we are going back today. Pleasant under cover alfresco overlooking the walkers and riders on the trail, some sheep grazing and a couple of horses waiting for their riders to return form morning tea at the cafe, little kids and dads playing in the courtyard. Its quiet, green and refreshing. The food is delicious and service is competant and friendly.
A. M.
Big portions and reasonable prices. Great setting.
C. H.
First rate!
Been there many times, Summer, Winter and they are awesome. Reasonable pricing, brilliant surroundings, adjacent the Warburton Trail. Ride your bikes in, park and have a great Breakie, Brunch, Lunch, Afternoon Tea, whatever! Worth the effort to go...
G. F.
The Breaky was perfect. Eggs cooked perfectly. Bacon cooked perfectly. My Latte was perfect. Great Carriage. Staff perfect. Very clean. Fell in love with this place and I will be back and I am going to put it on my Facebook page to share.
C. H.
Fantastic place with reasonably priced meals. Would definitely recommend a stop here!
L. R.
Great little gem. Is a little off the main road. Lots of family's dropping by on the bike path that runs right past it.
S.
Friendly service. Great tasting ice coffees and other delights. Stop in during a bike ride down the old Lilydale to Warburton rail trail. Has bike racks and enclosed area for young kids to run around and play in. Sit outside or in the train carriage.
M. P. M.
Great half way stopping point on lilydale - Warburton rail trail, novelty train carriage
R. S.
Yummy breakfast. Nice ride from Mt Evelyn and back.
B. W.
Beautiful setting with a classic railcar, nice food.
m. s.
Nice setting and for a 1 and a half minute walk from our car cannot complain at all food was cheap and great and if you like coffee get the mega mug not what we expected its a massive mug for sure would recommend to anyone thinking of trying
J. G.
A welcome cycling stop on the Warburton trail. Very well set out, good food and a nice tranquil view of the bushland. The train carriage theme is well executed and captures the 'train at the station' idea brilliantly.
A. F.
Great surroundings, unique, tasty food & great pricing. Homemade sausage rolls were delicious & the tasting platter was great to share.
G. M.
Such an interesting cafe. I love it!
D. B.
Great stop off the warburton trail or cafe destination with young children. Tasty food, servings a little small but also on the cheaper side. Recommended, especially if you have young kids in tow.
T. B.
Such a beautiful place, staff were very friendly. And location for myself and fellow cyclists in the area is second to none.
S. L.
What a great idea. A cafe on the bike trail. And what a great cafe. The train carriage is special. Good location for a quick break on the Warburton Trail. Food and drink and a rest.
S. G.
Nice scenic spot to stop off you're on the trail. Can get busy which will effect service. Food options are standard for an out of the City cafe.
D. D.
Milkshake was wonderful. Great place to stop while riding the rail trail. Connected to the rail trail by a short path, you can’t miss it. Also has toilets here.
M. R.
A beautiful place to go for a relaxing lunch or coffee. I love seeing the horses and bike riders coming in from the Warburton Track. Very affordable and family friendly. Wonderful country hospitality.

Loverly place for breakfast or lunch could not fault the food great every time we have been there, only problem is the entry to the car park very tight, but that is probably a fault of council.

(Translated) -Features, Parking: This is a cafe made from an old train. There are a lot of cyclists, there is no parking right in front, you can park your car in the nearby trekking parking lot and walk a bit.
-Interior, Atmosphere: The train interior is also new. The feeling of looking out the window while sitting on a train that looks like something out of modern and contemporary history in the 1900s is new.
-Meal menu, price: The menu price is cheaper than 20 minutes. When the menu came out, I found out why, and it was like a home-cooked menu, not something made by a professional chef. Big breakfast and Nacho are the best, never order gnocchi... The gnocchi was overcooked and the tomato sauce was tasteless. The Moroccan Shrimp Salad was also home made.
-Coffee menu: Iced Long Black was not like espresso. Feels like something made with Moccona coffee from the grocery store...? The quantity is very large.
-Service: Not bad.
(Original)
