Had a breakfast takeaway here. The eggs bacon and tomato chutney focacia and reg cappucino. The food was good and the coffee was even better. The lady at the counter was very kind. 5 stars for her customer service.

Nice busy place, had a good welcoming from the staff, prepared our reserved table in such a good place, two things put us down a bit, some food was oily and staff after a bit completely forgot us till i should left my hand up and some shouts to get someone’s attention!! Ordered Calamari and salad, salad was just off the plastic from either coles or woolie, just added some balsamic Had a glass of Red from little berry SA, it was nice, then after asked for our own cake to be served after lunch it took half an hour to clean the table and bring the cake which we didn’t mind as we had some time to catch up and go around the table to talk with each other. I did taste a grill chicken from the salad, it was a but burnt too!

Last night 11/12/21 I went to Melissa for the first time with a friend who took me there and is a frequent customer. The staff member Ira and the staff members who greeted us at the door and guided us to to the table where were can see the selection of cakes are very friendly. The cake I ordered was the Tiramisu cake and a whiskey on rocks while my friend or the Mars bar cake. Definitely worth trying and would go back to try other food they have.

I came in randomly on a Tuesday night unfamiliar with good coffee in the area not being a local - I was recommended to Melissa. First time here, greeted by a nice lady and walked out with coffee and cake and - it was perfect! I thought - I’d like to come back and try dinner here. Came back with friends, just had an amazing meal. So much to offer on the menu and I walked out full! Service was just the right amount of attentive and super nice. A cool place to go that offers the right amount of tradition and those ‘no place like home’ feels. Will be back! 👏

Very good cakes and sweet stuff. Service can however be a bit of a hit and miss, and no dogs are allowed even at outdoors tables - smoking however is on one side. Update: during COVID lockdown weekends, there's an outdoor grill that's delicious.

What is happening with the poor service at Melissas. 5 years ago people smiled, asked you if you would like a drink and asked if you would like a dessert. This is non-existent now. The last two occasions I have spoken to the cashier, and she has agreed with me. Tonight it was the same.no smiles from staff, no looking at tables & no aervice. Carlucci's is a much better option.

Have come here on multiple occasions. Parking is usually a bit tight but it's a sign of how popular it is.... It would be nice if all the parking was sealed instead of dirt for some if the spots. For smokers there is an area to the left of the front entrance... Pity you have to walk past them on the way in and cop a whiff of their cancer smoke. Once inside you are seated quickly... We chose to sit outside. This time, like other times, there is a bit of a wait before your order is taken....it was about 10 minutes... This could be improved. Three of us ordered the Melissa's special which comes with a choice of Spanikopita (Spinach pie) or Teriopita (cheese pie), Greek Salad and a choice of coffee or juice for $13 which is good deal. For those with a sweet tooth there are plenty of Greek desserts to choose from. Suggestion....Tables are way too small for 4 people with their meals... There is no space for 4 plates with water glasses and seperate drinks.... Let alone a shared plate...Consider upgrading your tables.

The food expertly encapsulates the strong Greek heritage within Melbourne's eastern suburbs. Exceptional portion size to price ratio, whilst clearly not compromising on quality or breadth of ingredients. However, due to being understaffed or perhaps more than normal amounts of large family bookings, our food took in excess of 50 minutes to arrive. Good venue for families or people who seek atmosphere!

Used to love this place, but seems as time goes on quality of food and service goes down further and further. Staff members are to busy talking to each other rather than serving customers and if they're not talking to each other they look lifeless. And it seems once our meal is done it takes them up to 30-40 minutes to clean up and always forget to offer If we want coffees so that is just more time added. I hope this changes soon. My review is still reasonable as I have had some great nights here and if it wasn't for the gradual decline in quality and service it would be 5 stars.

The cakes and coffee here are above standard compared to other places in the area. Service is always good and cheerful from my point of view. Reading some of the reviews on here about COVID, i think people need to understand that if patrons of this cafe stand outside in the carpark thats NOT the cafe's fault, thats on the people milling around. Other cafe's have the same situation just up the road, three of which come to mind straight away. The tent is to cook delicious food so they can provide a service and also keep people employed......It's no reason to leave a 1 star review, how about 5 stars for making the most of a situation and operating a business in socialist Victoria ruled by the Supreme Leader and his CHO puppet.

We always have a fantastic experience with the staff at Melissa's cafe. We tend to place phone orders with them (as we travel from regional Vic) and the staff are always lovely and accommodating. Keep up the amazing work :)

The entree calamari was excellent, tender crispy, great crunchy crumb. should have got a main. My lovely wife had garlic prawn risotto, with extra chilli, it’s secret is cheese and was delicious. I had the 3 skewers main. I mistakenly got 2 chicken and 1 lamb, forget the chicken skewers as they are average, the lamb backstrap skewer was amazing, bbq’ed perfectly pink. Unfortunately the rest of the dish was, meh. Coleslaw, while ok should not be on a Greek plate with tsaziki sauce (lacking garlic), it also come with chips ordinary bread and mustard. What can I say, a green salad would be better. Fix that dish, 5 stars.

Had an early lunch here today with a friend and 4 kids between us. Cannot fault the service or food. Friendly, attentive staff, food quick to come out for the kids, good coffee, and nice food. Their cheese and spinach pastries / pies are excellent. Don't quite understand some of the negative reviews. Easy parking, not too noisy, good place to catch up, and no real issue with kids either - small basket of appropriate toys near the front door to keep them amused.

Melissa is 10 minutes from home. If I don’t feel like cooking, this is our go to restaurant. Every meal we’ve had has been great. We love the Zucchini chips. Have also been for lunch and afternoon coffee. Great coffee, frappes, cakes, biscuits. Excellent service. Love it. Wish they did take away mains though!

The food is great once your order comes out correctly and on time. Was there 19/10/19 for brunch. Waiter was prompt and repeated the order back to our table of 8. French toast ordered however fruit toast was initially served and one meal was completely forgotten. I'd excuse the mistakes if it was busy but there were only at most 8 couples seated. This place is already an icon but I will compliment it so people know why...the prices are incredible for the quality of the food. My friends and I have been coming here for over a decade. It's a good place to meet up for cake and coffee and easy to park. The main reason we keep coming back is Jillian.....she's hilarious, great at her job and runs the place like any owner would. She's awesome!
