I’m so glad a friend recommended this place for us to catch up at on a rainy Friday. We scored a table for two inside, checked in and found it hard to hard as everything looked delicious. My friend had the black porridge which was in the menu. It was delicious, soul warming and a great portion. I ordered a chicken baguette what was behind the counter. It was a great size and so good with my two coffees. We couldn’t resist one of the cakes that we couldn’t stop staring at during lunch. We shared the lemon drizzle cake. It was so good. I took home a slice of the blueberry cheesecake for my kids they loved it!

The best place to go for your dessert treat if you are around Malvern area. Highly recommended for anyone who has a sweet tooth. Hot chocolate is absolutely amazing. Had a few cake slices and a cinnamon bun, all of them are beautiful. Would definitely come back for a brunch or dinner next time. Highly recommended their orange almond cake (the first picture). Side notes: there might be a queue during peak time.Estimated waiting time for more than 3 people - 15~20 minutes.

A happy place to be, I went there for brunch and I liked it so much, the food was great, especially the roasted mushrooms was very delicious, the staff were super friendly and very welcoming. I can confidently say that Millstone is one of the unique breakfast and brunches spot in Melbourne. Loved the vibes over there too. Hint: the cakes looks tempting, those who are following a low-calories diet be aware. 😛

The perfect place for coffee and cake, brunch and lunch. A very french fusion with contemporary Australian cuisine. Millstone has a meal for every mood and a dessert for every craving. The staff especially are the highlight and provide a fun atmosphere to eat in. The coffee is also on par with the food, using the five senses brand; I couldn't help but drink three hot skinny lattes during my first visit!

Good coffee. Roast Lamb Shoulder taste good, unfortunately they ran out of the side salad so just had the protein. Ordered the Slow Roast Pork Benedict, unfortunate again that ran out too, they recommended to replace the roast pork with smoked salmon. Broccoli Soup and the Beef Burger just taste ok. And the bad news was they have completely ran out of all the cakes and pastries too. However, the manager was very nice and friendly, compensated us with their Monte Carlo for free.

Love spot for brunch. The counter is full of pretty pastries and the coffee was good. BUT they have two burgers on their menu they don’t do on weekends. Pretty misleading as it’s not stipulated on the menu. Then the chef took a break and had made themselves a burger. My partner was pretty annoyed. I don’t know why they don’t make them on the weekends, they dont have a huge menu, and my partner who is allergic to eggs had few options.

Delectable food and pastries, beautiful outdoor seating but we got terrible service few days ago. Asked the staff to clean up our table ‘twice’ and all she did just cleaned a spot on the table as if did a favour on us. Unacceptable table hygiene let alone COVID safe practice. Heard so much about this place and it didn't disappoint when I visited with my friends last week.. The restaurant was quite packed but it was for a good reason. The food was nice and the dessert was amazing - the look was of cause very appealing and the taste was very much to my liking (ie light and not super sweet) & that also means I could easily have more... And I thought I should get some to take away too!!

Looking for a soup on a cold Melbourne day saw me stop into Millstone - and was not disappointed. My main complaint about cafe soups is often how watery they are - not so here. A thick and creamy Pea and Ham Hock soup with a large slice of toasted garlicky buttered Noisette sourdough was everything I wanted. The counter of sweet treats and cakes beckoned but I was full - on soup! - so will have to revisits for this experience. Friendly and efficient service and nice buzzy atmosphere with cool tunes.

I ignored my rule of not ordering when prices are not displayed and found out that I paid $10 for perhaps the most average lamington. Since when lamingtons are $10? Coffee was barely warm. I should have sent it back. Service was friendly.

Very happy with the delicious pastries and seasonal menu items at Millstone. The atmosphere of the café is calm and peaceful and the staff were incredibly nice. Coffee was fantastic, however could be prepared to a hotter temperature. Will definitely revisit a fantastic café like this again.

Nice coffee and cake, actually I don’t like sweet food like cake or candy..., but this one (see photos) it’s really good! And I order other lunch (see lunch menu) the chicken is great! Next time I think I will try other one (beef of lunch), and I will order cake again😘😘

They have the BEST tarts and cakes in town for sure! Fig&cheesecake and Mango&Macademia are my utmost favs so far. It tastes like paradise, just phenomenal! I usually stop by on Sundays and it is always packed with so many people. Vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff as well!

Incredibly lovely service. The hazelnut and fig Bircher was delicious. Great selection of teas, great coffee, and a blanket for the cooler months to keep you warm while you enjoy the delectable food. The smashed Avo is by far some of the best I've ever had as well. Every time I come here I want to come back.

Customer service is not very consistent, went there on a busy day and you could sense the vibe that the staff were stressed. They seemed to be slightly all over the place, a little unprofessional. Purchased a flourless orange and the salted caramel cake. The salted caramel fell apart upon cutting (albeit tasty) but the flourless orange was an absolute hit! Tasted as good as it looked! Would get the flourless again!

Cute decor and nice food but service is slow. Took sometime to be seated during a “quiet time” 9am on a Sunday with lots of free tables inside. Then our coffees took forever to come and lastly our food. Staff seem overwhelmed perhaps with customers? Overall nice experience. Will go again.

I've been to plenty of new cafes over the last year and this was the best by far. It was super busy and we arrived as lunch service was finishing. The wait staff were friendly and happily accommodated our order. The coffee was spot on and the food outstanding. A great selection of high quality cakes and pastries were available.

The staff here are one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Millstone is a petite french bakery that excels. It can get quite busy at times because of the popularity and all the locals but the food is quite frankly incredible. The owner Alice has a great story behind the cafe.

We are regulars at this gorgeous cafe and they have been inundated with new customers after her guest appearance on Masterchef just last week. You are both clearly unhappy in your lives and mean spirited people and I suppose we should feel sorry for you. Once you left, everyone in the shop couldn’t believe the behaviour you both displayed. Feel free to go elsewhere as you are not wanted at our favourite cafe in Malvern, an absolute institution.
