Still one of my favourite places for coffee. Despite not having any seating (and customers now can’t go inside the shop either, but order out the window), there are always people outside sitting on the ground enjoying their coffees.
The coffee here is really strong, both black and white coffees. The milk coffees are always perfect, never too milky.
We always make sure to buy a bag of beans to take home whenever we stop by.
The baristas and servers are all super friendly here too.

Today, we went to visit a true specialty coffee institution in Melbourne – Patricia Coffee. The menu was simple, yet exquisite: an espresso blend made from two origins – San Vincente from Huila, Colombia 🇨🇴 and Nensebo from Sidamo, Ethiopia 🇪🇹. The filter coffee was a single origin – Kenya 🇰🇪 Gondo from Murang’a county.
During my first weeks in Melbourne, I have already enjoyed many outstanding coffees. Most of them were cultivated and processed by well-known producers. Today, I would enjoy three outstanding coffees, each produced by several hundred smallholders.
While Brett went for the Kenyan filter coffee on ice, I have chosen a magic with the espresso blend from Colombia and Ethiopia, followed by the Kenyan filter coffee. The ice coffee came in a stylish metal hip flask. The fully transparent ice cube 🧊 had smoothened edges and its big size perfectly cooled down the coffee without diluting it. The magic came with a beautiful visual contrast between the coffee and the milk. Taste wise, the espresso cut nicely through the milk, which gave a beautiful smooth texture and a high sweetness.
The filter coffee was clean and sweet. The 560 smallholders from the Kiriti Farmers' Cooperative Society (F.C.S.) have done a terrific job. It is said, they pick the cherries and bring them to the factory that same day for selection and separation, as hand sorting happens before depulping begins. The ripe cherries are processed using fresh water from the local Kananahu stream, and the coffee is then dried under the Kenyan sun on East African drying beds.
It is beautiful to see, that unknown smallholders can produce equally tasty coffee as well-known rock-star producers. A big thank you also to the friendly barista team from Patricia Coffee: they have been very welcoming, and we had a great chat about the workflow in a busy café. That was very insightful. See you soon.

Busy place with very energizing vibe. Great coffee with good pastry. Amazing service & great people there.
For coffee lovers, you should try their house blend coffee beans. I bought it to bring to my country & brew it at home. It was very delicious & the aroma was so good!
h. A.
small place but good coffee. This is not going to be your usual coffee taste. It strong and tasty. I tried their batch brew, and it was more than I expected. I felt a lot of love from the staff which makes my coffee much much better.

📝: If you’re a coffee drinker or cafeholic loving in Melbourne and you haven’t had Patricia’s Coffee then you’re missing out!
❤️: Couldn’t resist myself from getting this Cardamom Roll that was so soft and fluffy with my coffee. The perfect breakfast to have any morning.

Best of the best coffee shop in the town! The Patricia’s service is even better than its coffee! Many coffee options and all staff are so patient and warm!! A customer focused business. Definitely NOT a money hunger business (Market Lane in the Queen Victoria Market)!
Just bought a cup of coffee from the Market Lane Coffee in the QVM. It was so bad! Couldn’t finish the quarter! The service is so cold too!
Hence, decided to make a special trip to the Patrica! Starting a day with the Patricia’s coffee is a tones better idea!

One of my favorite coffee in Mel.
Please try cloud mountain and Graceland !
These two hidden menu are fabulous.

Fantastic coffee and equally fantastic and friendly service. Was offered sparkling water while I waited for my takeaway (which arrived promptly). Their chocolate croissant was also very good.
J. G. (.
This place is a vibe 😏 was a bit surprised they only do black, white or filter coffee. But that's okay! The coffee was brilliant, staff were great and the whole alley way just felt right.
N. S.
A small cafe in alleyway. Quite comfy actually, not too noisy. Welcoming staff, and great coffee. Ordered latte, a nice chocolate-y blend. Well balanced, however my coffee was a little bit too hot. But not a problem taste wise.
Didn't try their pastries, but they looked good and heaps of choices.
E. Z.
Patricia makes consistently delicious coffee, and is also my go to place to buy coffee beans
A. N. F.
Super favorite!
My 1st pick for white coffee (flat white) in Melbourne.
Standing only & perfect for your go-to coffee.
D. L.
Went to Patricia’s on my lunch break and was not disappointed. Being so highly rated I knew I had to check it out. The cafe is located in an alley and is serving out of their windows during the pandemic. The staff are very friendly and chatty, and service was quick. I opted for the white coffee and chocolate croissant. The prices are pretty comparable to other popular cafes. And of course the coffee was great, a little stronger and acidic than most regular places. Will be back!
a. n.
Heard the best coffee is found here..
Was not disappointed 👍👌👌👌.
Loved the hidden little window shop style and the lines kinda made it obvious it's worth it..but had to try for myself and loved it.
E. W.
Delicious coffee in a quaint laneway! Worth travelling across the city for it!
B. J.
The best coffee in Australia. That may be a huge call considering the options in Melbourne alone, but the proof is in the pudding (well, coffee in this instance). Staff are super friendly and the offer of sparkling water to cleanse the palate pre-coffee is a great touch.
D. M.
Awesome coffee. Line goes out the door but wait times arent real long these guys pump out great coffee really quick. Take your order and give you a glass of sparkling, which is on tap. They have a selection of really nice pastries
And absolutely cracking coffee!
G. M. T.
I visited this place because of the hype it gets. Ordered a soy flat white with a cinnamon bun. coffee was really smooth, however the taste was a little bitter. not the best flat white i’ve ever had. the bun had a good flavor but not hot when i received it. Kinda underwhelmed with the experience but maybe it was just an off day. I’ll give it a second try in the future.
N. T.
Really a random spot in Melbourne but they do great coffee. No frills with a simple white, black or filter coffee.
They also have a wide selection of croissants and donuts available for purchase when you get coffee. Fast service and always friendly.

Come here on Monday morning around 10:30, there is still a lot local people lining up outside or waiting for pick-up their coffee. The shop inside for standing room only and no tables and seats are available so i ordered takeaway. For the coffee, they provided different types of coffee bean and milk to choose as well as customize sugar level. Overall, the staff are friendly and very attentive. Would recommend.
L. A.
The location is quite tricky. No clear signs of the cafe but not that difficult to find. Need googling a bit. It's a true hidden gem for real coffee lovers. Nowhere else could beat the friendliness and professionalism of the staff working here. The coffee was excellent. The aftertaste was gorgeous. Particularly love the chic atmosphere. Very welcoming. A lovely place to hangout and meet people both locally and around the world searching the coffee with life.
Y. A.
Our first impression is positive. Patricia’s Coffee shop is located in an interesting black build. The entrance is not big, does not look like a coffee shop. The sign is simple on a small brass plate on the door’s frame that you can hardly see. That all makes it appear curious.
Patricia’s Coffee shop is very small, has no sitting room inside, but outside you can sit down and enjoy the sunshine (maybe). The staff is very friendly and helpful, they offer you sparkling water while you wait. The menu is very simple. You can also order a few fresh baked items. Three choices of coffee: white, black and filter. And only three sorts of coffee are available (Colombian, Brazilian and Ethiopian). The filtered Colombian coffee seems to be a little sour and a little cold. But it’s not a bad cup of coffee, just different.
The shop has a modern design with a vintage look as if it has plenty of history but it is actually only 7 years old. The coffee shop is located near The Supreme Court exactly in little Bourke St & Little William St. It is small but cozy and great to have your coffee break in if you work in the area.

We walked past this beautiful standing cafe on the way to have our breakfast.
We had it on our notes that we had to come back after breakfast, and so we did!
It was so worth it! Lovely staffs and delicious coffee & BabyCino!
Both mama and baby enjoyed our recharge!
After tasting the coffee, we just had to buy some beans back home!
S. G.
I've had the most pleasant experience ordering coffee from this place this morning. Henry was very friendly and provided excellent customer service.
Will definitely come back again!
M. M.
Awesome coffee and service!!
Very friendly staff. This cafe is small space inside but everyone can talk to barista easily. They've used different coffee beans from Market Lane, Seven Seeds, Small Batch and Wood & Co.
I tried to have a Patricia Brend that mixed Ethiopia with Colombia.
That's really amazing taste!!
And also one of the barista gave me a marvelous filter coffee for free.
I really would like to try milk coffee next time!!
S.
For me, they serve the best coffee in Melbourne. Had the best espresso with jasmine notes, the best flatwhite and all the staff were very friendly and offered me to try their filter brew free of charge as well. Will definitely visit again when in Melbourne next.
C. C.
This little hole in the wall brews the most delicious cup of coffee. See these lines? They’re there for a reason! Patricia’s is one of the best cafes in Melbourne and well worth visiting! I head straight here every time I’m in Melbourne, and despite the lines looking long, they don’t actually take long at all. While you’re there, I also highly recommend trying one of their pastries. So good!
A. A.
Very unique experience, definitely a go to coffee place if you're in CBD. The staff are exceptional and very welcoming. The building is a bit hidden but once you find it, the atmosphere is perfect. It's crowded but in a good way. Perfect place to chat
Y. Y.
I know there is no point on adding one to these heaps of positive review here. But, I might as well try because this coffee is one of the best in Melbourne. I've tried several (I am not a coffee person, actually) but this one stands at a very high level compared to the others.
I am going to share another perspective of a review: a gastric acid one. My suggestion is go for their Patricia Blend, white coffee. It was safe enough for me who can never enjoy coffee without worrying about my gastric acid. However, disclaimer applies.
*Disclaimer: what works for me, may not work for you. 😋
D.
Long queue but they were very efficient. Coffee is awesome! We got ourselves soy coffee. Coffee blended very well with milk. Double shot but very fragrant and not at all overpowering. Getting there might be a tad tricky.. Easy to miss from Little Bourke Street. Entrance is from Little William Street.
B. R.
Highly rated for a reason
In a city that isn't short of hipster joints serving good coffee you have to do something special to stand out. Patricia, however, does it easily.
With a nondescript location and outside, the only thing that gives this place away is the vast crowd milling about in the lane next door, happily sipping on some of the best coffee I've experienced.
There's a cute sign at the door that says Standing Room Only and rather than just being a piece of kitsch, it's actually true. There's a good reason everyone is outside, even in Melbourne.
It's pretty subtle what makes a good coffee and I won't pretend to know what Patricia's secret is, but I can tell you that I've tasted a lot of coffee and this is one of the best.
Long story short, make a point of coming here for your dose, even if you're nowhere nearby. It's worth it.
A. S.
A different experience of a cafe. Great coffee. There was a line to order. Sparkling water is available to customers. There isn't much room inside, however, it is nice to hang out in the alley way and sit on milk crates.
R. A.
I went to this roaster for the first time this morning. I really love it when the barista/owner or whoever is serving me is patient with me as I ask many questions. I love coffee and am always trying to learn more. This morning, the owner took a good 15 mins out of his morning to chat with me about the intricacies of why/how they do what they do. While chatting he had three others pass by and say hello and thanks for there coffee as we talked. This is the kind of place we need more of, because it’s not all about the coffee, it’s about people, connections and love in the community, which good hospitality venues cultivate. COFFEE REVIEW - I had an Ethiopian batch brew, it was well balanced/silky on the palate and had really nice toffee/earthy notes. The owner as telling me how he wanted to fine tune the next roast of this bean to bring out more floral/fruity notes, So good. I also bought a cap for my partner which was full flavoured and had fresh roast goodness the punched through the milk. I really don’t enjoy milk coffee but for someone who does they have a great espresso blend. There coffee is completely legit. I left knowing more about coffee and feeling appreciated. And judging by the amount of people that stuck there head in to say hi to the owner this is business as usual for Patricias. Awesome experience.
R. E.
THE BEST in Melbourne! This is my go to when I'm in the city. The staff are always so friendly and calm despite it being busy... all day. My coffee is exceptional and always perfect + I love the complimentary sparkling water. This establishment is the reason why Melbourne is famous for coffee!
T. T.
Their coffee is smooth and full of aroma. And i love the vibe busy buzzed !! Feels like London. Love how they have random books on the window sill and you can read a great piece just on a random coffee shop.
B. U.
I came by to buy some beans for a friend. I wasn't sure if I was at the right place since there wasn't a big sign but there was a line and a small table outside with some beans. After lining up your order and then wait for it. They offer water while waiting. They also have pastries if you were a bit peckish. The place is quite small and fairly busy.
H. Z. W.
Some of the best coffee I’ve tasted. They provide two options for their espresso, either the house blend or Colombian, which each having a distinct taste. Staff are friendly and easily explain the differences between the coffee blends. Would definitely recommend. Can be a bit hard to find as it is hidden in a corner.
E. C.
Very busy as always, there are no seatings in this cafe, most people come here to take away. I chose to have my coffee inside but have had to wait about 15minutes for my soy cap. They serve free sparkling water which gets a brownie point from me. Nice Small Batch blend pity my soy cap was a little clumpy.
M. S.
You can really really tell a great barista from their Long Black, perfect temperature amazing flavours, no milk to hide behind and Patricia do all that perfectly. Oh and nothing puts a smile on your face like a free cookie from the friendly staff 😄😄 If your in there area, do yourself a favour 😉👍🏽

Was looking for a nice coffee place after a proper breakfast. Originally settled on Market Lane until Patricia came up on the Google map radar screen. Immediately set to explore this coffee shop given its outstanding reviews, it was a bit tricky to find the place on a car, but you can just ask the locals on the street.
There are people waiting in line for Patricia’s coffee in an early morning, definitely something rare among coffee shops! Great coffee with very reasonable price, a must try for any coffee-lovers!
🍡Must order🍡

We came to try this coffee because it was famous! Not too crowded but coffee tasted too burn for us. Good hospitality by the way.
L. S.
The cold filter coffee is brilliant. They also have fresh roasted coffee beans for filter and espresso.
A hot spot at CBD.
Very nice!
R. F.
Don't doubt the alley as you turned in to see people squatting, sitting on crates or even on the floor. You might not be able to avoid the coffee rush hour too as that's really an all day event hereLove the aroma + coffee vibes at Patricia Coffee Brewers, I had a good espresso (small batch Konga), watched cute baristas at work with happy dates, the cutest said "Goodbye Roslyn" when I walked out the door. This is my first visit, totally impressed!
E. S.
Amazing staffs, great vibe and excellent cup of coffee. Ordered a cappuccino and asked for their richer coffee blend. Wonderful. Got the cinnamon bun as well for a light breakfast - the just nice sweetness complement the taste of coffee perfectly. Totally recommended if you feel like you deserve a more-than-decent cup of coffee in the cold weather!
S. Y.
The staff is always so friendly here. Coffee is good. Although the roast might not be for everyone’s taste but nevertheless it’s a great place to visit. They use small batch coffee primarily. And closed on weekends so check their hours before going :)
m. c.
Slightly hidden but very popular (line out the door) spot for great coffee without charging outrageous prices. Server was very helpful in guiding through the various choices available and current recommendations with the touch of class by providing sparkling water while waiting for the order. No on site seating is provided as by choice and style of the shop however quality is so good no one present had any problem drinking and conversing in the laneway while either seated on the kerb or standing to the side (as pictured). Both types of coffee tested were enjoyable but distinctly different in experience highlighting the establishments endeavours to successfully cater to the preferences of their patrons and guarantee the return of the aforementioned. I recommend coffee lovers both local and visitors of the city to drop in if in search of that satisfying fresh brew that'll get you going or scratch that caffeine itch.
J. W.
Honestly my favourite coffee ever. I was blown away by the coffee here. What's even more amazing was the chocolate cake. I couldn't ask for a better morning.
C. C.
the latte is the number one so far ! specially I love the the oat milk latte. I hope they keep maintain the flavor !! I will definitely go back to try the coffee again !
This is the best place for the latte :)
M. A.
One of my favourite cafes in Melbourne, if you looking for a good-feeling experience you may find it here. Amazing coffee and they keep it simple ( white, black, and filter ) that’s all. I always admire the simplicity in having a cup of coffee while sitting on the pavement.
One more thing ! What an incredible service! Super friendly people and atmosphere. !
A Special “thank you” for your staff (:
B.
A must go for an coffee enthusiast or pastry head. Their Pour Over is best in town but needs some work in regards to timing. Hard to find PO in Mel so very impressed with what was brewed.
C. C. R.
Once arrived at this coffee house at around 10am there was a long queue, but i did not wait that long to be served.
This is a standing room only, but there are some plastic crate outside and people used it for seating. For the coffee, it was really good and fragrant. Most importantly the caffeine helped me awake till midnight.
I had a ristretto affogato and loved it though the weather was still chill that day. The standing room was full of people sitting, sipping, and waiting for the order, but I chose to be outside to get a good shot of my coffee. Make a time to try this because it is worth.
P. G.
Rated as one of the best coffee shops in Melbourne. This is definitely a must try but then totally would depend on your taste and liking. Some people love it, others not so much but for me I dont mind. You wont get all fancy options/ types in coffee. They serve the basic latte, long black and espresso, which keeps it nice and simple.
Small shop tucked in corner is always busy.
F. G.
Tried a latte with Colombian beans here. Tasted a kick and punch of acidity from the coffee aroma. Really light and creamy. I enjoyed it with a cinnamon donut I had from another shop. Heavenly morning break.
l. l.
Great coffee! great and positive staffs! Loved it all. 🥰
G. F.
Great Great coffee! Very sincere service. No chocolate powder to cover the great aroma of the coffee!
A. H.
I just love their coffee! there is something magical about this place, the coffee is amazingly delicious, the people working there are great, I always go there when I'm in Melbourne
I. “. J.
The coffee is superb. You have a choice between the mild yet satisfying house blend or a more rich and fruity single origin coffee. I choose the latter. The morning coffee run atmosphere is buzzing with chatter and movement, with patrons from all different professions sharing the same cozy space. Barristers, bankers, police officers, business man and woman all share the same love for coffee and the baristars work like clockwork to produce the high quality coffee that we all drink and enjoy. The staff are lovely and attentive. If you love coffee, this place is a coffee nirvana that you must visit.
D. L.
Staff are so friendly at this cafe. That’s really what makes it a great place. They stuffed up the soy milk, which Was a bit of a bummer. But they brought us some filter coffee to try for free and the free sparkle water is always a winner
R. Y.
If you are a fan of light roast coffee, this place offers amazing experience. Let me remind you again, if you are a fan of bitter strong coffee, this place would not suit to your preference. Standing room only, good sweets amazing friendly staffs and services. Everytime I fly from Sydney to Melbourne, this place is always my first stop to get my coffee. The filter is so on point!
G. D.
This place proves a big queue doesn't always mean a long wait, so speedy! Amazing to see the efficiency and professionalism of this team, who are also super friendly and lovely even though I was a first time visitor (not only interested in their regulars). Probably the best soy flat white I've ever had too, and was given a free sample of their batch brew. Came here because a bunch of people told me it's a must visit, I'll definitely be spreading the word and be back on my next visit to Melbourne. I'd get the sweet treats to take out though, delicious brioche but hella messy and embarrassing to eat there haha.
A. P.
Patricia is a legend of the Melbourne coffee scene, justifiably so. Expect big (but fast moving) queues. The little pastries are delicious too! Highly recommended!
R. B.
One of the best coffee I had in Melbourne! You should also try the pastries they have! They are delicious
R. T.
Here you go. My favourite cafe in the whole Melbourne. I’m not gonna say that other cafe does not serve good coffees, however I believe Patricia houseblend suits my coffee taste to the maximum extend. A bit Fruity and straight to the point, found this cafe 2 years ago and been here ever since. Friendly staff, best coffee, and good atmosphere. What else are you looking for?
Ps: magic is my regular order in the morning
Keep up the good work guys!
X. C.
Have passed this Cafe many times but never tried the coffee till today invited by my friend. Love the cozy environment and very friendly staff, coffee is very tasty and delicious. Strongly recommend to people traveling in Melbourne CBD and looking for the nice coffee. Great experience and excellent service, will be back. :-)

Rich aromas hit you as you turn round the corner. Coffee is fantastic and aromatic with such a depth of flavour. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful in assisting you in your selection of tailored to you.

what can i say, this place is so marvelous!!! i am so in love with this place, i love the barista, they gave us the best hospitality , love you patricia

Always stunning coffee here. That's what you go for - do not expect a sit down cafe experience. The service is fantastic, the baristas offer info if asked and are super happy to have a chat about all things coffee. There are a few areas to sit but it's mostly a grab and stand out go place. Stand and enjoy the buzz for sure.
D. C. H.
Great coffee. This is standing room only, so grab your coffee and go. Otherwise you can find some crates outside to have a sit if you'd like to take your time and enjoy your coffee. The place is also discretely tucked in little streets with bins beside the entrance. Your cue would be the queue as they say it is the best coffee in Melbourne perhaps the whole of Oz.
E. D.
Never knew about this gem of a cafe until a few days ago. No frills, standing cafe. Only 3 options for your coffee. White, black or short. But the coffee? Worth the wait and price. Will definitely visit again. #localguides
M. F.
Great coffee and fast service. They need to serve so many ppl so the latte art doesn't get any time. Still great coffee and good price-quality ratio.
T. D.
Service : 5. They're all so friendly! They know how to serve their cust, even i get there when it comes to closing time
Coffee : 5. I love their patricia blend magic!
Place : neat! I give them 5 stars too!

Now i just realized
why we should go this place
I visted twice
First, take away
Sec, have there
For the first time i ordered as take away
As u know ,super busy, and first moment i sipped it
It just a usual deep, well balanced falvour of coffee
Nothing special
I may expected too much of em..which end up underwhelming like always do
I might was just like a nerd back then
'Uh..this place is easily one of the top 3 cafe in melbourne i should go there(drooling...)'
But a second time of experience in here
Was so amazing...
Short and powerful presantation from one of A crews about single origin coffee
And it taste was literally exceptional..
Actually devoured it within a min
And they asked me if i'd wanna have
A Filtered coffee
I said yes, Without hesitation
They r truely
Well trained and Skilled baristas in every way
Kind, Capable
Especially they know exact point
what customers really want to experience it
Thank y'all guys your every single drop of a passion for the coffee
See u later,
M. N.
Strong and luscious house blend coffee. This is a well-known place and will almost certainly have a line. Very nice staff and free sparkling water while you wait. Delectable florentines, cinnamon rolls, cannelles, and more. You’ll have a hard time choosing!
J.
Good coffee, great sweets, friendly service. I loved the cookie sandwich with peanut butter between the cookies.
P. L.
It's a Mecca for Coffee Connoisseur. Pure coffee no BS. And always awesome experience with the staff. They are genuinely smiling and happy to serve. Providing sparkling water is a nice touch and obviously improves the coffee experience
O. S.
Though short and ordinary in nature, it was one of the best experiences I had in Melbourne (and possibly my two-week trip to Australia altogether). I wouldn't call myself a coffee enthusiast, though I do like a good cup or two daily. Still, I was really impressed with this place. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They gave me sparkling water after I ordered a cappuccino. The coffee itself was also very good and kind of strong. Altogether it really reminded me of coffee in Italy.
They also let me try, for free without me asking for it, another brew they had there and were patient to answer my questions about it.
I don't normally want to revisit places, but if I'm ever back in Melbourne I'll be sure to look them up. I should try some pastry next time.
M. H.
If you're struggling to find the entrance, hopefully this photo helps!
Wonderful coffee in the middle of town - and there's some stiff competition.
Love that you always get a sparkling water with each order.
Can get some great baked goods - if you're in early morning cause they go quickly!
D. F.
I was received with a glass of sparkling water and a taste of their coffee batch. Best coffee ever!
F. N.
Fortunately, we found that great place to taste the filter coffee in Melbourne. It's really taste good. 👍👍
B. N.
From the moment you walk into this quaint establishment you feel the vibrance and positivity that exuberates from the walls. The staff are efficient yet nice and knowledgeable. They are experts in their coffee and my single origin latte was spectacular. I also had a mandarin creme filled pastry which was divine. They give everyone sparkling water which is a great refresher and opens the pallet for the taste invasion about to occur. It's a small space but it is great to get in amongst other people and happen to have a conversation with a stranger. You feel connected to the staff, the coffee and the other customers, I would highly recommend grabbing a coffee and a bite here. 10/10.
M.
Patricia's is a lively and inviting speciality coffee house boasting it's own house or ethopian blended coffee roasts. At $4.30 for a regular latte it sits on the pricer side but not without good reason. The subtle hint of a fruity spice is a unique moreish quality. Very good reason they're rated as one of the best coffee houses in Melbourne.
張.
This is my favorite coffee shop when I live in Melbourne for 3 weeks, I will back there when I finish the collection for the second year working holiday visa.
The coffee texture is so amazing smooth and the steaming is in the perfect temperature to combine with the excellent espresso. They have four (maybe more) coffee beans can choose. Next time will try the original blend.
g. m.
Patricia is in my top 2 coffee shops in Melbourne! Wonderful location, fantastic staff, amazing coffee! Cannot recommend enough!

Wonderful people, coffee and atmosphere. I saw the great reviews and was recommended it by someone in the office. Didn't expect such a perfect customer service experience, the staff are on top of their game! Really, really nice. The filter Rwanda coffee was lovely, thank you. Even the press material was spot on, I wanted to read all your magazines. The only minus is the entrance is small so it's awkward to get in/out with other customers. That's awfully minor when everything else is so excellent. Highly recommended. Wonderful :)

Patricia has the best vibe for a cafe with no seating. The service was great and friendly. One of the barrista even took a chance to approach me when she saw I me looking at their beans collection. The latte was okay to me. But you should try their espresso! It was so delicious!
Their beans packaging to go is also very pretty and good for souvenirs. I took the beans in the pink containers and the beans has a great nutty finish that lingers in your mouth for a while. Definitely will come back for the espresso!
K. P.
Great coffee, fantastic service. You can opt to stand along the bar to drink your coffee (white, black or filtered). Not much seating. And small snacks only. Highly recommended for a quick coffee.
S. P.
Best coffee in Melbourne, we tried them all. If there is a line it moves quickly! They are super polite, if it's your first time they walk you through their style of doing things. Pretty good chance you'll be sitting on a curb outside. I would love to see a shoot out between Patricia's and Ona from Canberra.
C. D.
THE Best Coffee in Melbourne..I’ve visited Patricia multiple times over the last 18 months and each cup has been consistent over its rich, creamy and smooth white coffee cup that you would expect.!! Friendly staff and excellent customer service. Great ambiance in the morning and a great way to start the day..
R. C.
They say here you'll find world best coffee. It's a very small venue, but looks cute. I only tried the cappuccino and I can say it tastes so different - in a good way. It's no way near the cappuccino you tasted before! The prices are the same as every venue.
B.
Friendliest staff. Cool vibe. Very very very good coffee. Both blends are absolutely fantastic. Convnetienly located. Walking distance from Southern Cross station and easy to find. Complementary sparkling water given with the coffee too. Make sure I stop here on all Melbourne visits
C. M.
Really cool coffee shop in the Melbourne CBD . Larges queues when we arrived but these go very quickly as the service is amazing and quick. The coffee was devine and the atmosphere was so hip. Sitting around the street in the curb ir on old plastic bottle crates. So chilled and just great.
A. L.
Patricia Coffee brewers aren't your typical sit-down, sip n' socialise. Seating is scarce, arrive late, and it's likely you'll be queueing up - briefly...
The charming space despite being small in size moves coffee enthusiasts quicker than a fast food chain without compromising taste or quality.
Patrica offers a humblingly simple coffee selection of black, white and filter. There's also a limited assortment of pastries available for those craving a sugar fix.
Black coffee is rich and smooth and the flat white, creamy and delightful. Give it a go...
H. A.
Very good coffee and nice staffs. No wonder there always was abundant customer and they open till 4pm only. Warning: no chairs inside and you might have to sit/stand on street outside, but that's the most interesting thing here ;))
A. B.
Great coffee location. Quintissential Melbourne, standing room only in the law district.
Coffees on offer are a rotating single origin and their own house blend.
It's a busy spot, but it moves quickly. Go and enjoy.
C. T.
Great customer service really makes you feel special. Can seem like a long queue at first but it moves very quickly worth the wait. Great coffee especially if you like a stronger brew. Also free sparkling water is always a plus.
P. G.
Best coffee in Melbourne. Amazing staff as well. A must for when in Melbourne.
A. W.
Tucked away in a small alley in the heart of the city, they serve one of the best coffee in town. Good luck of finding this tiny cafe. They only give 3 options for coffee : black, white, and short. But their coffee is unquestionably great and worth the price. Full 5 stars. Will definitely come back again.
C. C.
Nice coffee and the staff have good attitude. There is only standing place to drink coffee therefore customers can not relax completely.
S. Y. L.
I have tried the white coffee there, and it it tasted nice. I didn’t need to wait a lot for my coffee, though there were a lot people buying coffee at that time (around 3pm Wed)
V. L.
It's always be busy but coffee with good quality. You can stand inside and chitchat with the barista while waiting for your coffee. Or you can have a seat outside. They will bring your coffee to you. Even though the cafe is not in the main street which is located in a side street, you can always easily to find it because there is always full of the crowd. They also provide some pastries. By the way, they provide only black , white and filter coffee in one standard size.
K. P.
Seriously no words to describe this gem of a place. Amazing coffee, super service, love the atmosphere and vibe! Found a sweet spot by the window to have a coffee and to take a moment out of the busy day to enjoy a great cup of coffee!
I. H.
How can I not love this place. Its unique, warm ambiance inside, pots of fresh flowers , good coffee and off course dont forget the croisant.
K. M.
Definitely one of the best coffees in Melbourne. People are lining up outside. Super friendly staff. Go and try yourself.
N. D.
I honestly cannot believe that I haven’t done a review on this place before. This is the first coffee shop that made me believe in the “latte” again.
Location
Blink and you will miss this place. Literally hidden down a side street, this is one of Melbourne’s best kept secrets that only the locals know about. It’s so good, that their business works purely on word-of-mouth. And they don’t even have seats inside. It’s standing room only.
And that still doesn’t stop the locals!
Food
Literally coffee. That’s all you need to know. You can get their doughnuts. But their coffee is enough. Literally.
TDT: 2.0/2.0
Cost
It’s a little higher than normal. However, it’s worth it.
TDT: 1.0/1.0
Ambiance
I like the quaint place, however I would like to see seats. I dunno. Something. That laneway in summer. Dear Lawd it’s amazing.
TDT:0.75/1.0
Service
Every barrista knows their stuff. And when you become a regular, you don’t even need to order. They just write down your order. It’s the one thing that I have missed from working so close to this place.
TDT: 1.0/1.0
Overall TDT:4.75/5.0
Whenever I am in the city, I make it a point to either include this spot at the start of my trip or HELL, I’ll even go out of my way to get a coffee from here.
Yes, it is that good!
J. D.
Love Patricia for it's delicious pour-over and fab staff who are poised and professional but very friendly. A great space to soak up the vibe and watch the never-ending stream of suits.
b. b.
Outstanding coffee with exceptional service from the team. Served by Josie, the service she provided was not only genuine but what every business needs! Thank you and will be back when I visit Melbourne. Kam
s. s.
The latte is one of the best in town. I had the house blend and it was strong enough. Please mind the wait although it wont take long.
C. S.
Best coffee in Melbourne. I say that without reservation. They are the most consistent even in peak hour. There's just so much balance of the roast and the creaminess of the milk.
C. M.
One of Melbourne’s most interesting coffee bars. A must try.
C. P.
It's the best coffee shops in Melbourne! Served with awesome coffee for everything that I needed. So friendly and kind barista here as well! Would visit again for sure.
S. M.
Their coffee is an absolute knockout but what impressed me the most is the staff that’s working there. They really try to make the service really personal and friendly — makes all the difference in the world!! This is probably the best coffee place in melbourne! ❤️
D. T.
What's not to love? Bums nestled on milk crates, cold drip coffee served in flasks, beautiful rosettas arranged on concrete. Oh, and the coffees are hands down best in Melbourne. Hipsters and coffee connoisseur heaven.
e. k.
The cap was wonderful. It was third time I went to Patricia. And their house blend is strong but good balaced. Even super busy there, they never forgot or dropt the orders. Love here!
A. N.
A humble little coffee shop serving what I’d rate as the best coffee in Melbourne
Love hanging in the alley with my latte whenever I visit Melbourne.
Super friendly staff too!
P. B.
Best coffee. Best name 🤩
C. C.
Occupying only a few square metres off Little Bourke Street this place serves hundreds of nearby CBD office workers. Filter coffee (Single Origin) or house Patricia blend both on offer (and for sale). Short Black was well made but Long Macchiato was too milky / watery.
Could probably do with an In and Out door to deal with the huge line of commuters.
S. N.
Home of the best flat white I've ever tasted. Patricia's also provides great service in a lovely atmosphere. Strongly recommended!
K.
As usual, beautiful coffee and great service. Very friendly staff
r. R.
Coffee is so good and staff are friendly enough but they don’t have any chocolate stuff with drinks. no hot chocolate, cap with no choc on top....
E. Z.
Nice coffee but I may prefer 2 shots in my latte next time. Love the environment, enjoy cookies and fresh air in a sunny morning. Will come to visit next time!
D. B.
Lovely people, bangin' coffee, neat location. Batchy was delicious, espresso was delicious and as always I had a lovely chat with the person who served me.
H. W.
Despite customers not being able to walk into the cafe anymore - Patricia have maintained their quality and customer service standards very high. Goes to show million dollar service is more important than a million dollar fit-out. Will continue to return.
T. J.
Great coffee taste and should wait in line to get this coffee. Awesome
A. L.
Wonderful coffee! Might be hard to find but just follow the crowd. Can get a bit busy but then you know it's good!
A. D.
Lovely coffee and great service. An offer of a glass of sparkling water while you wait is a nice touch! Coffee is quick so do give it a go even if there are lots of people waiting.
R. N.
Wide variety of beans and sweets. Good place for take away coffee, there is no tables and chairs to set down, but remember standing is good for your health!
I.
hands down one of the best coffee shops in Melbourne.
A. H.
Staff are all super super nice and they make sure they explain what’s going on and take ur orders . U get to choose what beans you like ! So it’s different every week ! Love the whole feel so the place and the people ! Such a coffee thing !
W. C.
Super packed but service was quick and friendly - coffee is great. Definitely a must try when wandering around the city.
H. W.
Great Coffee, first time I have been here, it is tucked away behind the Supreme Court. Glad my niece found it.
A. K.
Well its best coffee in Melbourne for a reason. Fast and efficient batista makers. Standing only go find yourself a ceret if you like to sit down.
R. S.
Excellent coffee and customer service. Free inner suburb delivery got me through Melbourne's 2020 lockdown - thanks Terence!
E. T.
Small and busy cafe. One of the better ones. Staff are friendly and no major complaints about the coffee
s. f.
Great Coffee. Immaculate Vibes ❤️
C. S.
A favourite. Strong coffee, good coffee. Sparkling water while you wait. Friendly and attentive staff. Pastries are pretty good to. Can be on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for.
G. R.
Wonderful friendly service and great quality sweet treats and coffee.
W. E.
Travel more then an hour in the morning just to get a coffee from this place. Absolutely superb.
A. D.
Great coffee and good service. Highly recommend.
T.
Nice coffee ☕️ and super friendly staff!
N. T.
Got a Flat white here and due to the virus they serve you at the windows at the side of the building. Staff were very friendly and the coffee was prepared very quickly but keep in mind there wasn’t many people on that day. Coffee was really good and can certainly recommend it 👍
D. U.
Amazingly friendly service.. they topped up my water.remembered my name and I drank coffee in the gutter.. classic Melbourne
J. C.
Not my type of latte but still nice barista, staff and the atmosphere complete the whole picture :)
C. H.
Good coffee. Average pastry. Very friendly staff.
C.
Great place for coffee and cinnamon cone was delicious
D. H.
Interesting cafe, young crowd with trendy music. Good coffee. Need to enjoy the coffee elsewhere as there isn't much seating available in the shop.
J. C.
One of the best coffee indeed. Very popular and always a long queue.
H. W.
Superb coffee and very welcoming service. Thank you for letting me sample the cold drip!
A. D.
Really friendly and accommodating staff especially for such a busy and small little place. Was delighted and shocked to have one of the ladies bring me my black coffee and kindly chat with me despite a line out the back.
A. B.
The best coffee I ever had. So different from anything else! Absolutely love the concept of the café, very social as people stand outside and chat while waiting for the coffee. Nicest waiters ever. Everyone is in a super good mood and so sweet! Would always come back.
e. p.
A great way to start the day! The Cafe only has standing room only inside or pull up a crate outside and enjoy a coffee and sparkling water.
J. L.
One of the best cafe jn Melbourne!! Love the vibe
P. W.
Long line outside the door and standing room only inside but worth the effort for good coffee and pastries
H. S. O. (.
Very patient, friendly and pleasant staff. Coffee is omg yum! Will be back with more Asians 😂
M. Y. A.
Boutique coffee brewer but very crowded. White tasted good & very friendly staff😁
R. M.
One of the best coffee shop in Melbourne, personal favourite. Rich and robust flavour every single time, never disappoint. I'll walk all the way over to this side just to get a slip of their coffee whenever I'm visiting the city. You can literally smell their coffee around the corner. Shame they don't open on weekends.
C. G.
Standing Room only
Great coffee & cakes
S. A.
They don't have almond milk but their oat latte is the best coffee I've ever drank in my life! Too bad it's a bit far from my office.
M. V. L.
The absolute best coffee I've tasted. Their Brazilian/Ethiopian roast is just so tasty in their 'white' drink. Perfectly roasted and an awesome chosen blend.
The shop is also so good looking and with a great walk in atmosphere. A must-go in Melbourne for the ultimate coffee lovers.
K. P.
Finally tried coffee from this cute place! Amazing service, nice coffee and fine bakes. Personally I like my coffee less acidic but will be back to try again.
B. K. N. O.
I think I have tasted the best coffee in Melbourne! I had a hard time searching for the exact place because it is somewhere hidden. You will just realize how famous this coffee place because the place was narrow and hidden and yet alot of people can patiently wait for their coffee. The coffee here doesn’t taste so bitter! I really liked my first to last sip of coffee which made me order coffee beans to take home with. I love their houseblend! And i am looking forward to taste their different kinds of coffee on my next visit. I would also like mention their chocolate cake that I ordered. That was the best chocolate cake i have ever tasted. You guys go and visit Patricia, you will surely wouldn’t regret; and the staff are friendly to their customers too. I felt at home when I went here. Highly recommended!
r. h.
I have only ever reviewed a place once before but I felt like I really needed to after my experience at Patricia's. I was in Melbourne for a couple of days and before coming I did a lot of research on where the best coffee was in the city, the name Patricia's popped up an awful lot so I decided to give it a try. On arrival I found a bustling alleyway. More busy than the main roads near by. A good sign. Walking into the cafe I was met by a member of staff who was very friendly. I asked him what he would recommend and unsurprisingly he was very knowledgeable. Taking his advice I ordered my coffee (for the very ressonablr and price of $4.20) was handed a glass of sparkling water whole waiting he also gave me a complimentary cup of the filter coffee. Extremely quickly my coffee arrived and it certainly lived up to the hype (and the very high bar I had been expecting). Overall a very enjoyable experience that really brightened my day.
A. M.
Hands down the best coffee in Melbourne. A fine establishment with the simplest of coffee orders. Anything else deserves rating of 4 or below.
S. P.
It is a small coffee shop but many people wait for good coffee!
A. Y.
Coolest coffee shop ever in the alley way. I know that sounds weird but it works, they have lines out the door because of their great coffee and service. The pastries and sparkling water compliment the coffee. Definitely one of Melbourne’s best coffee shops if not all of Australia. Come here with your friends or work buddies and enjoy the atmosphere.
A. K.
Best coffee in town. Nice blend. Methodical ways of brewing up to the degrees accuracy. Fast service and friendly stuff. This place is always busy. Hidden in a small alley ways, however somehow people find this place (including the tourists). You can't go wrong with Patricia Coffee.
L. V.
Great Coffee Great Customer Service consistently good I love how they remember me and my name it is the most excellent cafe in the city
A. J.
One of the finest coffee places in Melbourne. It’s a hidden gem...quite literally. There is a hip crowd of people all the time hanging out and waiting for their coffee to arrive. It would be impossible for anyone to know that this exists if it is not for the crowd. If you are looking for a nice looking cozy cafe where you can sit on a table and sip your coffee...Patricia is NOT the place for you. It has its own unique character. You don’t go their for a relaxing sit...it’s more about having the conversation while you stand outside on an alley (sometimes in rain too) sipping a world class, rejuvenating and aromatic house blend that Patricia has to offer. Plus...they have kept it simple...flat white, filter coffee and black. That’s it. No latte, no cappuccino, no small medium large business! If you are in Melbourne CBD, it’s definitely worth going on the treasure hunt to find this place first (you will know what I mean when you find it) and then enjoy your cuppa.

Great coffee in town, very busy cafe.
G. E. C.
Honesty the best coffee in Melbourne. Staff are wonderfully kind.
E. T.
Saw this place on multiple "best coffee in Melbourne" lists so we had to try it out. It did not disappoint! We had a lovely barista explain the menu to us, since they do things a bit unconventionally here. Had a really good white with sugar, while my fiance had some of the best & strongest long black coffee I've ever tasted. The pastries all looked so good as well, so we went with a big salted caramel cookie. Did not disappoint! This place is down a laneway, and doesn't have any signage out front, so make sure you don't walk past it the first 2 times like we did!
J. B.
Ana amazing little coffee nook. Tucked away but worth hunting down. The staff were friendly and very efficient. Despite being busy they were very thoughtful asking a couple of times if I needed a tray for my coffees (They must be aware of my propensity to spill beverages.) The coffee was great. Cakes also look and taste amazing. What you see is what you get in this delightful little coffee spot.
J. C.
Patricia's is a Melbourne coffee institution, and is constantly at or near the top of any 'Australia's best coffee' list - for good reason. Whilst there will more than likely be a queue snaking out the door of the cafe (standing room only, situated in a small alley between William and Queen Streets), service is fast and you will be at the counter within minutes.
The menu is simple, offering reasonably-priced 'White', 'Black' or 'Filter' choices, with the option of a house blend or a rotating selection of premium African and South American beans. All espresso coffees are double shot as standard.
Whilst you wait for your drink, you can enjoy a complimentary sparkling water, or choose from a selection of sweet pastries and baked goods at the counter. The friendly and knowledgeable staff will also bring your order to you if you choose to wait outside.
D. M.
Not sure why the hype around the place. Staff are very friendly, ambiance is good enough for Instagram. The taste of coffee though, very average...
I come here maybe once or twice a year, just to see if I can finally get the taste everyone else is raving about. Nope, still haven't got it. The coffees here are not bad, but they are not great, either. I much prefer the Sensory Lab nearby, or Industry Beans, or Dukes...
Good coffees greatly depend on good baristas, who may not stick around one place for long, so there's always a chance of inconsistency at cafes. But I've never had that one outstanding coffee here, as opposed to the regular supply of high quality coffees that I've been getting from elsewhere in the city.
N. K.
One of those discreet coffee places in Melbourne where you get amazing coffee. A treat for coffee conneisuers. This one is off the Little Williams Street and generally has a long queue during morning hours for coffee. But it is worth the wait. The staff will ask you specific questions on what type of coffee you want. The skinny Cappuccino I ordered was really good and distantly different for the ones you get in the other main street cafes. One of the hidden gems of Melbourne.
W. M.
Out of all the fantastic coffee places in Melbourne I always take time to visit Patricia when I'm in the city
k. m.
Loving the coffee and the place. Superb!
I. S.
Outstanding. The best coffee I've ever head. The depth and complexity of flavour was extraordinary. A lovely place hidden off the main road. Busy inside but the service is excellent. Melbourne coffee lives up to its reputation. Patricia's sets a high bar to follow for my next visit.
T.
The best coffee in Melbourne for sure, full of flavour
Coffee is amazing, staff are always friendly, service is outstanding, sparkling water with your coffee, this is a must visit for coffee lovers
J. G.
This cafe is absolutely amazing! Great coffee, great staff and great experience. Out of all the places in Melbourne that I visited this took the cake by far! Customer service was amazing, the young Hawaiian? Looking girl was fantastic! Extremely friendly and kind and even wrote down a list of places for us to visit whilst in the city, she also gave us free filter coffee tasting and it was so fruity and smooth 👌 it's people like this that keep customers coming back and I can't wait to return to Patricia's.
C. B.
Really awesome cup of coffee, very friendly staff. My favorite in Melbourne in the few days I’ve been here.
J. O.
This is one of Melbourne's finest take away coffee spots located at the centre of the Melbourne Cbd. Different selections of coffees, and some small bakery bites. It does not serve any brunch food. The coffee is amazing, and they serve you sparkling water. No tables, only standing bars - with some milk crates you can sit on outside to have a chat. Worth visiting - but note it's a fast pace coffee place!
S. W.
Not sure why they put sugar bowls out. Coffee is smooth and flavorful that sugar would only ruin it. Staff are very friendly and even though busy they make time to make you feel at home and valued. Definitely on my must do whenever I visit Melbourne.
Y. B.
I visited here twice☕ best latte ever ❤
C. M.
Always a friendly place to catch a great cup of coffee. Come into the standing room only place, breathe in the lovely aroma of roast coffee, say hi to strangers as you wait for your name to be called out. Then have an intimate conversation, just you and your delicious coffee..... Not for the hurried soul.
R. N. Y.
Good coffee, quick and warm service!
D. P.
Hidden down a side street in the CBD, Patricia's is the perfect spot for some social coffee. It's unique in only offering "black" or "white" coffee, so don't go asking for a mocha. Great place inside, often very crowded which adds to the appeal - however many choose to mill about outside in the sun to drink. The coffee is fantastic, the staff are friendly and it's my go-to place when I have more than 5 minutes to spare (not because the coffee takes a while - it doesn't, but because I wish to enjoy it)
이.
My review has disappeared... so I am writing down again since this place is awesome to be bothered making review twice.
I will give you a score 7 our 5 (presonally) Beautiful coffee, Excellent customer service.
That's all I want from speciality cafe.
You can choose blend & single origin also brewed filter coffee with 3 different beans.
I chose strong flavor blend for a latte & my friend got a single origin long black from Guatemala.
FYI, I am not a big fan of sourness from coffee which is trend in Melbourne.
My friend & I have different preferences in coffee, he loves more on flower smell I love strong nutty.
So I love my coffee which was beautiful and my friend didn't like his long black due to sourness
All rounder lady came to pick up cups and saw and starting to asking questions+offering different type of long black because my friend barely drank his coffee.
We explained why and his preference and it's nice of you but we are fine
After a short conversation, she offered us filtered coffee from Ethiopia.
And brought 2 cups of brewed coffee to us.
At first I doubted her offer because I was aware of Ethiopia beans are sour, but this time was enough sourness and dark flavor
It was just wonderful. I loved it
Later on, she came back to and asked that was okay.
Wow it was just amazing experience.
I can strongly feel they love&proud of their work and very well aware of their product
This cafe will be definitely my favorite store in Melbourne.
Strongly recommended
M. S.
Awesome vibe! The shop itself is standing room only so everyone congregates outside, chatting and sipping their coffee in the sun.
S. W.
A coffee snob's wet dream. Beautiful selection of blends and filters, served black or white, and always brewed to perfection. Very professional, friendly and hip staff, which adds to the buzzed and cool atmosphere. Interior and decor is also very aesthetically pleasing. Definitely my go-to for a quality coffee in Melbourne.
C. S.
Great service, great tasting coffee and they offer free water. Hint be sure to arrive early line up is massive.
J.
After a string of disappointing black coffees on my visit to Melbourne after a 10 year hiatus, I really thought Perth had closed the gap. That was until I tried Patricia and was blown away. I think the only positive to come out of covid is that I can get their beans delivered to Perth.
J. L.
Really good coffee and friendly staff.
A. M.
very nice experience a lot of new things to know about coffee and you pay for the quality.
K. C.
Excellent coffee! It is top notch! Service is consistently great with staff being attentive and friendly the moment you walk in the door. They also make a great latte. Highly recommended!
Y. L.
I heard the cold filter is great so I tried it. The taste of coffee beans is different and I like it! Didn’t have a long queue in the afternoon. Will try more next time
r. m.
This place is my favourite when it comes to coffee in the city.
It is busy, but the crew is always friendly and working like busy little bees and it flows perfectly.
They change the beans on offer with the seasons.
They also roast themselves therefore controlling every stages of the process.
Only downfall is they close on the weekend, however it make sense since they are their roasting days.
Just on top of their game, many places tried to copy them but in my books they still the best in town.
L.
Fast and Short stop by coffee shop.
So many people are outside.
J. M.
Some of the best coffee you'll find in Melbourne! If there's a line out the door, it's worth the wait! Beans to go. Not a cafe to stop and sit, shoot your coffee and run. Staff are excellent. Such a Melbourne experience👏👏👏
T. T.
Hello Patricia! Always, never fail to satisfy. Ordered piccolo and brew coffee. Place is packed but got squeezed in pretty quickly. Handled by professional baristas, our orders were done in less than 5 mins. Stood outside to enjoy the coffee before heading off again. I will definitely be back here again.
T. C.
Brilliant coffee! Great Service. The lovely staff came outside and took my order while I had bub in the pram. A must visit while in Melbourne. Possibly the best coffee I have ever had!
N. D. B.
The best coffee I had in Melbourne so far!
J. S.
Here is the my best coffee in the world.
D. H.
Am I a coffee connoisseur? No. Everyone has thier own taste. It was quite busy but they did a great job in getting the coffee out fast and what i would say a good quality. Most of the staff there were great but I did feel the server did make me feel a little embaressed when I attempted to order a Cappuccino and a Latte for my friend. What i came to discover is that is not an option and its just essentially White or Black. Okay you learn something new and Im sure they have thier philosphy behind it. Maybe because this place came so highly rated I expected a little more but my personal opinion is the coffee isnt anything amazing. I think still worth trying if you havent been and looking to try different places. Otherwise its probably not a place ill be rushing back to.
J. A.
Great coffee! I recommend their home blend, thick syrupy chocolate notes. I had a long black. All staff served with a smile and a nice tucked away location. Great place to stop by for a quick coffee hit.
J.
Best coffee in Australia. LEGIT. I visit Patricia’s every time I’m in Melbourne and highly recommend their batch brew. It’s a fantastic place with an awesome vibe. They also do take away beans, which are well worth buying if you want to take this awesome experience home with you.
l. c.
Simple decoration and Perfect coffee all in one. Must try !!!
O. M.
Honestly one of my favourite places to drink coffee in the world. The early morning rush hour vibe adds to the buzz of the place. Pull up a milk crate and chill with a pretty special coffee. I tried just about every place in the CBD for coffee over my two week stay and this came up tops. Time after time. Latte after Black Americano. Consistently delicious.
The staff were super friendly, keen to learn more about the London coffee scene.
A. C.
Patricia's is legendary in the area for good coffee. I've been here several times and they always deliver. Service staff are always positive and friendly, rrally helpful with brew choices.
Be aware though, like any good Melbourne coffee place, they're tucked away in an alley, can have long lines, and only have standing room. On nice days, you can sit on a couple of milk crates in the alley outside, for a true Melbourne coffee experience.
Y. S.
My favourite coffee spot in all of melbourne- and that’s saying a lot!!
Standing room only, so expect to see a bunch of people hanging outside waiting for their coffees.
The pastries on hand as well are sure not to be missed!
C. M.
Small but really cool/different coffee shop from your normal shops. No tables to sit but it makes the vibe of how people hang and enjoy their coffee outside and inside along the windows. Staff was very friendly and helpful of what to pick.
T. M.
Cosy little standing-only coffee shop, with friendly staff. They offer a glass of soda water to drink while you wait. That said, the wait was quite short (visited on a Tuesday around 8:30am).
Trendy interior with the day's paper on a viewing board. Customers usually lean against the low surfaces while they wait - it's not a sit-down place.
One thing the place could improve its offering of breakfast- type food - otherwise it's a good little place.
J. T.
Brilliant tiny operation with long lines and the coolest crowd of what appear to be bankers and tech people. Pretty hard to beat the vibe here. The service was also AMAZING. They replenished my water glass, they brought me a coffee spritzer drink sample, smiles, smart talented workers. This is a 10/10.
J. N.
Great coffee, can be busy during coffee peak hours. Customers can choose to have house blend or single origin. Very friendly service, and they offer you a glass of sparkling watet while you wait for your coffee.
T. Z.
Patricia has great coffee of course but it also has expert staff who will whip you up a nice pour over, black or white coffee. The prices are good for specialty coffee but be warned this place is as they put it "standing room only" and it's often nicer to take your coffee to go, rather than drinking it fast in their cramped bar while browsing the newspaper.
J. L.
Doing what they do best, serve great coffee. Awesome coffee and vibe, must visit.
T. T.
its my all time favorite coffee shop in Melbourne now. simply amazing coffee
A. E.
Perhaps Melbourne's most pretentious coffee, but also one of its best. Staff are attentive and efficient. Sparkling water is on tap and coffee is on point. You'll be battling with the suits of from the top end of town to find a bench to lean on, but it's a must visit destination for any coffee lover.
M. H.
Very friendly and attentive staff, no seats, a few pastries, and good coffee. Though the cap wasn't the best I had in Melbourne - still good! They serve a glass of sparkling water with every coffee and I was offered a tasting of their filtered coffee which was pretty good if you prefer black coffee. Cap was $4,30.
M. L.
Our favourite coffee shop of our 3 weeks in Australia. Loved the energy and the coffee. Two great flat white with a perfect acidity. I only wish they were opened on weekends.
C. J.
Super friendly staff, great coffee and awesome vibe in this place. When you go, make sure you look up at the ceiling, there's quite a cool surprise waiting for you on the ceiling! Also the queue may look long but don't worry the team do a great job of smashing through that pretty smartly. Highly recommended and worthy of all the 5 star reviews. Diego :)
P. S.
Good coffee, definitely above average and yet not the best I've had in Melbourne.
D. F.
This little coffee shop is seriously the best example of “quality is all you need”.
No fancy decor, tiny little shop, no seating, an annoying massive line of people to wait behind, and despite all of that, they are consistently killing the coffee scene in Melbourne.
Pick the Home blend and don’t ask for extra shots, because trust me, for once you will be satisfied without adjusting your coffee shots.
No matter how busy they are, the service is always exceptional.
A. W.
The best place for coffee on this side of the city. It's refreshing to go to a place that takes pride in their coffee with a rotation of great beans, passionate and super friendly staff and delicious baked treats.
I'll let the other reviews do the talking but if you're ever down this end of the city and in need of coffee don't let the queues deter you. The staff are super quick and the slight wait is worth it.
C. K.
Another one of my top 5 fav coffee place in Melbourne
S. S.
Wow. The coffee blew my mind and I am no coffee connoisseur. Amazing aroma and taste. Think I had the Ethiopian blend. Rest of the coffees in Melbourne pale before this. Glad our hotel was closeby, managed to discover a local secret as a tourist. The almond croissant was great too.
R. R.
Perhaps the best coffee in the city. They have a great house roast. Their batch brew and espresso drinks are both quite good. Expect a line but it moves rather quickly.
F.
It was super easy to get to, though I had to verify where the door was exactly. The coffee shop is small, as there was constantly a line up in the morning. But the staff were friendly, as I tried to figure out what pastry to order with my coffee. After ordering, I grabbed a spot at the back and drank some sparkling water as I waited for my order.
J. M.
Hands down the best coffee I’ve had in ages. Super cool for school where they really care about their coffee and their service.
Not really for the sit down, want a menu, cafe goer. Think buzzy, mostly stand up. It’s an experience Particularly in the busy part of day. Yep
C. S.
Spent the day hopping through all Melbourne's best coffee shops and this place truly stands out from the rest. Amazing tasting coffee, great atmosphere, excellent service, if you're looking for the Melbourne coffee experience you should definitely end it with a bang here at Patricia's.
E.
Very busy place, supergood coffee and fast'n friendly service! :)
C. P.
Spent the day hopping through all Melbourne's best coffee shops and this place truly stands out from the rest. Amazing tasting coffee, great atmosphere, excellent service, if you're looking for the Melbourne coffee experience you should definitely end it with a bang here at Patricia's.
P. H.
Coffee was definitely one of the best I've had in Melbourne! A must try for any coffee lover. The team at Patricia Coffee Brewers were also very friendly and helpful.
T. C.
The best coffee in Melbourne without a doubt and the most friendly staff!
N. W.
Great coffee. Even better pastries.
A. M.
Very cool, hip coffee shop tucked away down a street in Melbourne. Always a queue out the door but they are super quick. Very smooth coffee, I got a regular latte. You can chill outside byt the kerb and take some photos. Only negative i that it is a little expensive.
J. G.
Great long blacks ... atmosphere ok ... if you don't mind standing on asphalt sipping your coffee. Cafe just off a lane way.
k. r.
Best coffee in Melbourne .. GREAT service and friendly folk
S. H.
Great tasting strong coffee. No seating area. You do have to queue but they are quick - they don't do hot chocolates, they do have a small selection of cakes. It is good coffee.
E. L.
The coffee is OK but very overrated. They need to expand their milk variety also to cater for more people. I asked for a particular type of milk once that was not available and the reaction and response I received was extremely abrupt and rude. I didn't return for a long time as a result. A friend frequents this cafe often and I tried it again recently. The coffee was decent but not great. I expect better service and coffee.
E.
It was great to visit today and they really showcased the coffee scene in Melbourne (you find them by the line out the door). A bunch of brilliant and happy staff who are passionate about their coffee. It was great to stand and watch them for a while! Thanks for the sample of your Kenyan batch brew :)
K.
I do recommended this coffee shop for all my friends who love to drink coffee. I think this is one of the best coffee shop that I ever had in Melbourne and anywhere else. Friendly staff.
S. D.
Just had an amazing experience @ Patricia. I picked up the wrong coffee by mistake - the lovely staff assured me it was fine, so I sampled both. After commenting that the filter coffee was amazing, Bec swung by to give me a taster of the other filter roast (on the house), just to compare the two. The fact she, and numerous other staff, kept referring to me by name, considering I was a first time customer, really resonated. Creating amazing first impressions wins you lifelong customers. Can't wait to go back :)
A. V.
Top notch coffee. High quality beans and precise roadting. Their baristas do an excellent job as well. The result is a flawless cup of coffee, and their consistency is strong.
Don't expect to seat comfortably, this place is a proper lane coffee shop.
R. C.
The service is impeccable. I had a discussion about how I like my flat white where the wait person asked more questions until they understood. The coffee hit the spot. I stood at the bar and drank my coffee and fell into conversation with the guy working the grinder. Attentive, again. Love it.
M. P.
Believe the hype (I'm sure there's hype), this place is the real deal. Looking around you can see you're at a special place. Smiles on every face, including the staff, all are happy to be there. It's like being in on some secret but without the smug. The positive energy flows even before the hit of hot elixir. Is busy at most hours but the coffee comes quick. And damn that's good coffee!
S. H.
Laidback and chill, good coffee with friendly and knowledgeable staffs. Brewing with 7 seeds roasted beans white, black and pour over coffee selections along with pastries and cakes. Very busy at time when I was there but you can always squeeze a spot to enjoy your coffee break!
W. A.
Unfortunately, they changed Guatemala single origin to Columbia, however, the Guatemala was much better :(
T. C.
We flew in from Perth. These guys were highly rated, so we thought we would check them out and they did not let us down. Brilliant customer service and the coffee was epic. So much so, I signed up to give this review. Well done!
S. H.
I walked past here today and saw the crowds of people drinking coffee and thought this place must be good. Well it was true, your typical hole in the wall coffee place with great service and a few baked treats to choose from as well as fantastic coffee. It was packed but I didn’t have to wait long at all. You won’t be disappointed.
F. K.
Always a reliable coffee place and offers quite a variety of coffee beans selections.
J. P.
Super busy at peak times but it’s worth the wait. Just bring some mates to have a chat while you wait for your order. Staff are super friendly and their selection of small eats go nicely with expertly brewed coffee.
F. B.
At an age in Melbourne where cafe owners use their money to hire photographers and bloggers to take and post photos of their cafes, Patricia’s primary focus remains in customer service and exceeding expectations in all regards.
The greatest team of baristas and all-round great people delivering the best service possible.
People first, always.
Oh, and the coffee is damn good too.
Thank-you, Patricia!
G. C.
Amazing place with great affordable coffee! (4.5A$ for White, 4.2A$ for black and 4A$ for filtered). Even if usually there is a line, the waiting time is always less than 4 minutes. You can pay both cash and by card.
L. H.
If you like strong coffee, you might like this coffee shop. There is some standing room and milk crates to sit on, but I would recommend bringing a KeepCup just in case there is no room, which is likely. Cascara is nice, but I have tried it once and would not get it again. Coffee4lyf.
C.
Good quality beens coffee .. the taste is just amazing !
C. D.
Excellent coffee! Finding this place is part of the charm, as with all laneway gems in Melbourne. You know you're getting close when you can smell the scent of very strong coffee as you walk past this alley and notice a long line of professionals, hipsters and excited tourists queuing up behind an seemingly unmarked building all talking about what type of coffee to get.
D. C.
Was hesitant in waiting for a coffee due to the size of line as I was visiting Melbourne from Queensland if I seen this at one of my local coffee shops would simply not even bother. But since Melbourne is known for the best coffee in the world and it being my first time to Melbourne I waited and guess what didn't even take 5 minutes to get my coffee and yep it was one of the best coffees I have had.
B. M.
I always grab my coffee from Patricia's before I head to work. It's quite busy here most of the time but you won't feel stressed at all. Place is filled with great vibe, great people, and the smell of their amazing coffee.
G. O.
One of my absolute favourites in Melbourne. Best coffee ever. Free sparkling water, great atmosphere. Service is friendly but a bit intimidating as you can tell they are so serious about coffee. Love love love!
L. L.
Super cool shop!! It is not easy to find because it locates in the small corner of a small laneway. Once you find their store, you won't regret stepping into their shop. Their coffee is definitely on the top list in Melbourne, and their service is so great that you won't forget the cup of fresh tonic water.
R. H.
As a visitor to Melbourne, from Brisbane, walking into Patricia was like a breath of fresh air. Great atmosphere, fantastic decor, fabulous staff, and of course amazing, thoughtfully prepared coffee! Also, did you know 9/10 pastry chefs rate their cookies the best in Melbourne! They certainly were delicious!
L. Z.
Great service yet not good takeaway coffee. The flavor is nothing special and there are so many bubbles with the milk froth. Very disappointed after my friend’s high recommendation.
S. V.
Best coffee in Melbourne. Hard to find but once there, it is hard to go anywhere else. The people behind the counter are absolutely amazing. I mean, how many places do you go where the people who work there remember your name. Highly recommend it to anyone. So if you are in the city, Patricia's is located in Little William Street.
A. K. M.
Awesome coffee place hidden in a laneway. Just three options of black, white or espresso makes it absolutely no frills. No sitting space inside though there is room for standing. It's always packed and queues can be long though the service is very quick. Despite the crowd they still manage to initiate a conversation which is great! Ofcourse you shouldn't miss the free sparkling water served free on entry.
N. N.
Pretty empty on a Sunday afternoon which was good because you can finally stand by a table and chill.
Coffee was okay I’d say.
S. T.
Wow, that must be the nicest customer service we've ever had. Coffee was delicious but the wonderful staff made the experience even better. They helped us pick out and taste some coffee to take home too. Looking forward to coming back.
Edit 8/3/18: Whoever baked the salted chocolate chip cookies has a gift. 🍪
A. X.
Best Coffee, friendly staff and nice service
D. A.
Never disappointed with the brews. Fantastic service, friendly and fast even on the busiest of times
N. C.
Probably the best coffee in Melbourne. Queue is always there but move really fast. And the staff are always smiling and very very friendly. Get a crate and sit outside 👌
S. H.
If you're a coffee lover and within an hour of this coffee shop, go for the affogato. One taste and you'll see why people are hanging around on the street, sitting on the side walks and crowding this little shop waiting to get their cup.
R. C.
Good for quick in and out coffee. Busy in the morning, but not slow. Attentive staff and most important of all, good coffee. Might be a little on the weak side for coffee aficionados, but just right for me.
Not for sit down dining, or big breakfast (has nice pastries).
J. B.
Enjoyed the flavour of my Flat White With One, but there was a watery/ weak finish to every sip. Next time I'll ask for a stronger coffee. Love the atmosphere inside and that it's in a bit of a secret/ hard to find spot!
K. S.
Probably the best coffee experience in Melbourne. They're all good but Patricia's unique set up and professional baristas make this place a must visit. Try them all, but Patricia should not be missed.
S. M.
A very Melbourne Cafe in the best possible way. Small, tucked away, pretty much standing room only inside, a random crate to sit on the outside. Superb coffee and friendly staff & great service.
A.
Friend recommended this place. No seating but coffee is great.
J. P. (.
Beanhunters best cafe of 2017, and that's not a strange thing! This café is absolutely brilliant when it comes to customer service, coffee experience and overall ambience. Prices are very good and the staff is very friendly. Quite a hidden gem but totally awesome!
A. K.
One of the best coffee you would ever try. Totally recommend it! I’ve had a skim flat white and my friend had a long black. Both were amazing!
M. M.
Ordered soy latte and my friend ordered cappuccino...coffee tasted average and not sure what made it rated 4.9 (now 4.8), guess more people from different places came to try and released it was overrated.
S. A.
Totally worth it in every sense. Amazing coffee, pastries and wonderful service. Counted +-25 people in the queue ahead of me and still had my perfect flat white within 10 min!
S. B.
Amazing coffee and wonderfully friendly staff. The buzzing atmosphere adds to the excitement of tasting either of the two aromatic roastings available. You like it strong or smooth; they've got you covered.
K. C.
Great coffee n great service everybody smiles at you .good job
S. ..
The coffee is just ❤️ The staff are so friendly. The menu is simple and small but it's really good. Worth all the hype about it being the best coffee in Melbourne.
M. S.
Scores off the charts for esoteric. Essentially a hole-in-the-wall with windows that serves some truly good coffee. Be prepared to queue at busy times and be amazed at all the places people find to perch and consume their coffee. Great service, newspapers to read whilst you wait, and a selection of cakes and snacks. Definitely worth a visit!
D. S.
Shhhh.. I love the coffee and friendly staff here. And don't get me started on the hard to resist pastries. But don't tell anyone cos I don't want it to be too popular. ... Thank goodness it's hard to spot but the crate sitters are a dead give away 😲
S. B.
Arrived on a busy Thursday arvo. Very busy with lots of foot traffic. Managed a spot outside. Got a Cascara (which is like coffee-tea) which was different and quite nice. Need to try coffee another time.
J. C.
I love this place so much. Epitome of Melbourne coffee for me. Friendly service, awesome coffee, wide selection of styles, fizzy water, and pinned-up newspapers. A must visit for anyone interested in Melbourne coffee culture.
J. F.
I googled the best coffee in Melbourne and Patricia's came up. The coffee is amazing! It was the perfect smooth balance between coffee and milk. I highly recommend!
I.
Delicious coffee, incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff greeting my partner and I as soon as we walked in and helping us select some coffee to take home after a yummy espresso!
Boutique coffee roasters, you won’t be able to buy there stuff anywhere unless you’vecome in and grab some off the shelf yourself!
J. T.
Standing room only ..... in this Coffee Bar
They should start selling tickets soon, apart from selling those cool leather straps apron.
Hipster, fancy looking staff, what more could you asked for? EXTREMELY crazy coffee to go along their prices.
Thanks guys ....
UPDATE 24/3/2017
Upping the ante, Ethiopian beans, all those fruity characters, not overpowered by the milk.
4.5/5 at $4.30
A. B.
Standing room only. At one point I would have considered Patricia to be the absolute best of the best in Melbourne, however with the competitiveness of this saturated scene, I would slip them down to just somewhere in the top 5. Still a worthy accomplishment for a perennial Melbourne favourite.
N. R.
Went because it was suggested as Melbourne's "best cup of coffee". I hope if Melbourne is know for its coffee that this Isn't the place :(
Only 1 small (tiny) size, no choice.
Seemed busy, but the wait wasn't devastatingly long.
Has a small window ledge to stand at, but doesnt have a welcome feel for staying. People staying to talk were more in the way, didnt seem that enjoyable.
Is tucked down an ally, passed it the first time by.
S. M.
What coffee place offers sparkling water while you wait? Not many. Thats why this place is always busy and plus their delicious coffee!! Always visit when in Melbourne.
I. R.
It was too busy coffee wasn't really good. Not sure why been recommended as Melbourne's best.
A. K.
Good coffee and pastries plus a couple of crates to sit on in the laneway. Traditional Italian capuccino with no chocolate on top.
T. Q. Y.
Best coffee experience that you can get in Melbourne. Absolutely love the atmosphere and the service offered. Definitely will pop by again if I got the chance of going to Melbourne
J. T.
The coffee here is really great - the perfect mid-morning tune-up. There's often a line, but it progresses super fast, so it's worth the short wait! Enjoy a flat white like the locals do 😊
A. C.
I have been here on several occasions and the coffee was always consistent. One of the best coffee’s I have ever had and really got to understand the different characteristics of flavours which I thought was a myth the whole time.
m. j.
We were down to Melbourne for a few days and tried most of the reputable cafes around the CBD and worked our way through some of the lists on the internet. While most places did a great job, Patricia was the most memorable.
The place was comfortable and the service was quick and attentive.
Thank you guys
B. B.
What's not to love about this place? Great people - true professionals. They always smile, look you right in the eye and remember your name - even if you're fairly new to the place and don't manage to drop in more than once or twice a fortnight. I don't know how they do it.
What a great way to start your day. Can't be anything but positive for the day after soaking up the vibe of this place. Always a great selection of amazing pastries, cakes - and a huge sort of oats/muesli or something cookie that goes beautiful with the sublime coffee, and will keep you going right through till lunchtime - a meal in itself.
K.
Great coffee in a friendly and homey environment
O. R.
Best coffee experience I have had. Melbourne is the coffee capital of the world -- Patricia's will prove it. Go the house blend (Patricia blend) for the full flavour. Ask for it hot if you will not drink it quickly.
Q. M.
I’ve been told countless times to check out Patricia so I finally wandered over. To be honest, my coffee wasn’t the greatest but it gets to much hype that I’m willing to give it a second try.
A. P.
One of the best cup of coffees I had in Melbourne:))
Their house blend will satisfy your caffeine needs and taste palette...
T. B.
Coffee was ok, not as good when Bowen was working on the shots. Very busy place, stand up only or sit on milk crates outside. Customer service can be more friendly and less snobbish. Still a must try place :) 👍
J. F.
Tucked away down a paedistrianised side street this place is clearly very popular with locals. There was a queue out the door of people waiting to be served. To say it moved quickly is an understatement. This place is like a "artisan" coffee assembly line. Somewhat oxymoronic indeed but accurate. I was given free sparkling water by the attentive staff whilst I waited. I was barely there maybe 5 minutes, had been greeted by three friendly staff and boom here's my coffee. PCB is a literal coffee bar- there is a bar to stand and whilst waiting or drinking, a small selection of snacks and a whole lot of buzz with people sitting outside on a range of makeshift furniture. The coffee was as delightful as I expected but clearly these guys are pushing for quality AND quantity with a generous serving of personality to boot.
E. E.
This is my fav coffee spot in melbourne. Super friendly staff and always a pleasure spending my money here. The coffee is great house blend with soy milk is great and they will also recommend a bean to your liking.
D. J.
If you want to get good coffee, good mood, here it is.
I can say there is the best cafe in melbourne.
It is so busy place, but all staff are so friendly, enthusiastic.
D. B.
Absolutely delicious coffee bursting with flavour. Just what I have been craving. No frills with terrific, friendly service. Very busy but it all moves through well because of competent staff.
K. H.
Believe the hype. Excellent coffee and really friendly staff. Expect a wait...its usually pretty crowded. Most people wait outside in the alleyway... they'll bring the coffee out to you.
J. B.
When I describe Patricia's to my friends, I tell them it's like a polaroid snapshot of the best coffee in Melbourne. Amazing and capable team. An establishment in the specialty coffee world.
J. P.
The coffee is good of course but the line can get very long - which is not a criticism of the business. Just expect a wait sometimes (take a friend to chat with) or try one of the other excellent places nearby if you're in a hurry.
E. B.
Interesting cafe , good coffee gets busy but service was quick .
M. Y.
Tiny coffee shop that draws parties into a desolate laneway with great brew.
If you fancy cake too, they have a small range on offer.
One of the best caffeine hits available, if you're floating around the CBD.
The only kicker is the real lack of inside 'hang out' space.
E. C.
Lovely staff and very nice ice cream coffee! Definitely coming back for this!!!!! ❤️
S. N.
Great cafe with standing area of or you can sit outside with milk crate. And small sweet selection tastes good. Coffee is great. Staff is friendly that they sometimes give you to try their hand drip coffee.
K. K.
Greatness in simplicity - the coffee is the star of the show here.
L. C.
Great coffee and welcoming
ambiance. The staff is super nice even when the place is very busy. Don't miss it if you are in Melbourne and love coffee
L. S.
Loved both the service and coffee here, they also have oat milk which is a big bonus!
M. Y.
The big impressive cafes look quiet as I walk by on a lovely Friday afternoon. Soon as I turn into this little William St, the mood changes! All these sleek office workers sitting on crates, leaning on the walls, chatting in groups... Walking inside the tiny cafe can only give me standing room! People just love crowding around this place! What is the magic formula to their extraordinary success? Busy as ever! They are so busy that they do not even serve me moccha! They only serve COFFEE!!
What a hidden gem! A real secret for the real Melbournians - away from the tourist strip. The crowd speaks for itself! They are so successful that they do not even have to open weekends! Wow!
H. C.
Consistantly beautiful, diverse and simply delicious coffee. Situated right out of the way, on the corner of Little Bourke & Little William Streets.
Now, if you are into white coffee, I'd better inform you that Patricia only does one style of white coffee: White Coffee. Don't let that put you off though. They are amazing, probably one of the best presented coffees I've ever seen. Now, if you are into black coffee on the hand; this is the place for you. There is absolutely no excuse for not trying this café.
No seats. All standing. That simply adds to the feel however, it all fits like a glove. The only thing I have against Patricia is that it's not open weekdays.
E. P.
If you're after the Melbournian coffee experience then Patricia's is for you. They have black coffee and white coffee - no cappochinos, flat whites or lattes - just white or black. They usually have a few different beans available, and the staff are always happy to give you a hand choosing. They have a nice selection of pastries available and will serve complimentary sparkling water while you wait for your coffee.
J. G.
A lovely semi-hidden coffee shop, probably in my top 2 in cbd. Always consistent, super friendly staff that remember your name. All in all a place to try. Just mind the queue, can get busy at times.
A. S.
Perfect Bread and Coffee.
Good coffee, good mood, and good day😊
M. L.
I expected more from a place this popular and this highly rated. My $4.30 piccolo although smooth on top just lacked any strength. I sometimes expect this of a latte but this should not happen for such a small coffee like the piccolo.
r. m.
nice coffee .... basically there is a lot nice coffee in Melbourne and this one of them
r.
Not my kind of coffee place but these guys deserve a 5 stars. Friendly staff and good coffee. Just beware that there is a line most days and there's never really much standing room. Well worth a look in though!
G. J.
In the competitive game of the Melbourne breakfast scene, I have to say my partner and I were extremely disappointed with the sheer lack of imagination and creativity of the menu. The physical space is a positive but they simply are not capatilising on such a great opportunity in the underserviced suburb of West Melbourne.
P.
Stylish place. It's a standing room (you can sit outside on the street or basquests). Always nice coffee. Small options for snacks. Excellent presentation (cold coffee in hip flasks?). Friendly and fast staff.
W. Z. (.
One of the best cafes in the city.
It will be great if they can open during the weekend.
J. E.
Stellar. Just wonderful. Superb from baristas to the beans served, to the complimentary sparkling water on arrival, to the sleek, simple, elegant decor and the aprons the staff wear. 3 choices on the menu for coffee done at its finest.
R.
Complementary sparkling water and great coffee.
L. C.
Travelled to Melbourne and sought out this place after seeing it appear as one of the top rated coffee shops in Melbourne on Google. Great experience and coffee, worth the wait.
C. S.
This has actually always been one of my fav caffeine spots in Melbourne. The staff is super awesome and accommodating. I really suggest you try their coffee, it is worth it for sure 100%
A. G.
A bustling little cafe right in the heart of Melbourne CBD. They roast in-house and make fantastic coffee. Usually a line-up but it moves pretty quickly; worth the wait!
B. D.
Great changing single origins.
Wonderful house blend.
Filter and espresso.
Simple to order its either black coffee, white coffee or Filter coffee.
Awesome cookies and cakes and staff that make your visit memorable.
S. L.
Fantastic coffee experience, the friendliest staff and baristas and a reliably excellent coffee. Salted chocolate cookie was the only food I tried but it was similarly delicious. Plus you get to feel very melbourne-chic walking down a laneway that looks like nothing and turning a corner into a bustling coffee mecca. Very young and hip crowd.
K. S.
Great coffee but extremely expensive! Probably due to the reputation they have. Small size costs $4.30. You can get just as good from Duke or Rex for cheaper.
I. R.
Wonderful people serving and making your morning routine much better 🙏
R. Y.
Hands down, the best coffee in Melbourne. Coffee here sets the standard.
S. H.
Delicious! Not a big coffee drinker but this was really good
N. T.
One of the great coffee bars of Melbourne. Italian-style stand up espresso bar with a range of artisan bakery options. Very busy, but very enjoyable 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
D. W.
Great coffee and unique vibe. Must visit location in Melbourne
K.
Amazing coffee and staff, Fast service. One of the best coffee Brewers in Melbourne. Patricia coffee blend is my favorite. Keep it up guys.
M. C.
Best coffee in Melbourne CBD, from a number of Melbourne's best rosters. Small space, standing room inside or pull up a milk crate outside, but the pour over & cold filter are great.
E. P.
Always love here. We went to many coffee shop in Melbourne but Patricia is the only one we want to visit again and again. As a barista too I really like the atmosphere here.I will miss here. All baristas here are very nice.
R. J.
I only went once, but I can still remember this coffee and their smiles. If i have a chance to go Melbourne again, I'll definitely come here first!
B. K.
I was told there's always a long queue, but didn't take too long to get a coffee after 11am. Quite good coffee and pastries, but a bit more $ than other coffee shops around.
P. H.
Visited Patricia Coffee Brewers for a takeaway latte (blended mix) and it was delicious, the service, the aroma and the flavour were great! Would recommend A++
R. T. J.
Wow. Melbourne, I think I'm falling in love with you! Coffee was amazing. Atmosphere, amazing. Service, amazing. There's just so much to love!
J. T.
Lovely coffee. Gets loud when it's packed.
C. H.
Hipster coffee place in an alley. Good service. Everyone drinks their coffee in to stay cups in the alley. The food I ate was very delicious as well. Their lattes are only the normal "white".
G. K.
A small friendly cafe with no seating and the best coffee I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to be back in Melbourne to visit this place again.
P. M.
Great smooth coffee especially if you drink your coffee on the dark side (black). I would like too more promotion of sustainability with promotion of keep cups and a discount for their use
A. J.
What an expirence this little coffee place was, excellent friendly service, quick and delicious coffee to enjoy in the the midst of the hustle and bustle of this Gem called Patricia or to grab on the run! LOVE LOVE LOVE!
E. L.
Love this place so much! Staffs are always welcoming and coffee taste so good. This place has unique vibe that gives you positive energy. I would always go back to this place and grab a decent coffee :)
J.
Best coffee in Melbourne. Came here with my bestie on my birthday from Sydney and (by request) the barista wrote HAPPY BIRTHDAY on my takeaway cup. Lovely staff ;) Must go when I'm back in Melbourne
G. J.
One of the best coffee houses in Melbourne. They concentrate on their coffee and getting it just right. Great selection of cakes to enjoy also.
B. S.
Great coffee and amazing pasteries.
N.
The best cafe for coffee in Australia. This was my morning stop for coffee before work. People travel from all over Australia for their coffee. The laneway works a treat.
G. W.
Coffee was excellent and judging by the crowd of people it is always like that. Nice touch with the free glass of sparkling water. Go for the experience!
H. K.
White coffee is the best ever!!
S. M.
Great coffee - found it here on maps and took a couple of colleagues from out of town. Surpassed their high expectations of a Melbourne coffee experience. Thanks!!
A. R.

Want a good and quality coffee? Then go here because they are great. I go here often with my wife and everything is in place and the coffee is almost always good. The stuff is also pleasant and nice.

One of my favourite coffee shops in Melbourne. The coffee is excellent, but stand up area only. Lots of suits and very 'hipster-esque'. (is that a word?)

Great coffee and really nice staff. Nice selection of treats too!

A little hard to find as it's located in an small alley and there are no signboards. But the coffee was superf and staffs are friendly and accommodating too. Better avoid during lunch time though as it can get crowded and there are no seats to sit in the shop.

Atmospheric at any occupancy level, Patricia does outstanding coffee. The staff are happy to be there and great people to talk to. A beautifully unassuming place on the outside, I hope this place never changes.

Suppose to be the best coffee in Melbourne (maybe Australia). Unfortunately my only experience is trying to go but the lines and wait were too long. Expect a wait or try to reserve a table.

Melbourne's best coffee spot. They only do standup coffees but its perfect for coffee on the go. Always a queue outside

Really good coffee, super friendly service and I loved the complimentary sparkling water while you waited. The cheese and herb pastry was also good.

The coffee was great and the service was excellent. Please note it’s a small place and almost doesn't have seats. Recommended

Really enjoyed my coffee here although it's not strong enough for my tastes. It has a smooth creamy flavour

One of the best coffees in the CBD. There's always a queue out the door but they have a good system and it moves fast. Worth the wait

Although it was extremely crowded when I turned up, the service was fast and easy. My filtered coffee was exquisite, I was blown away from the first sip. I will have to return to this place again, I'm just disappointed that they only do office hour timings!

Very nice place, coffee was beautiful and the staff were nice and attentive topping up my glass with water frequently! Be advised it's standing room only though.

Sensational coffee. Delicious sea salt, marshmallow & choc chip cookie. 10/10 best coffee on my travels.

Vibrant little place that sells really great coffee. Service is outstanding. I didn’t wait too long considering the amount of people that were there.

small cafe with a great staffs and good coffees

Much like Hardware Société, this café was once a poster-child for the laneway café culture of Melbourne. While it seems to have become more of a mainstream tourist attraction these days, it still serves as a relevant point of reference as to the context in which said culture came to be.

Great coffee! Went this place during the rush hour. Even though all the staffs were extremely busy, they are all super friendly and cheerful :)

Best coffee in Melbourne! Great service... only negative thing is that after having coffee here, every other coffee you have is now 2nd rate in comparison.

Very nice coffee and Danish and great service with friendly staff

Consistently excellent coffee, what more do you want?

Really good spot for coffee. Standing room only, although you could possibly sit down on a makeshift seat outside (but don't count on it). And very friendly and attentive staff.

Amazing coffee though can be super busy. Note that there is a very small amount of standing room, no seats aside from the kerb/milk crates outside

I've been here a few times and the coffee has been consistently great. The service is also very personal and friendly, regardless of how busy they are!
