ORANGE IS THE NEW STACK — Loved my pancakes!!! If you’re looking for something cheery and light, order this. Flavours totally came through. Nothing to complain about the food except too much burnt orange curd. Pancakes could be fluffier but overall happy w my meal!
Service wise — waitresses were absolutely lovely but the food and coffee took too long to come. Long mac was not too bad.
G. W.
Cute place. Professional efficient staff. Great atmosphere. Coffee was superb. The Carrot cake was just "Beyond Delicious". Always a line to get in. Booking highly recommended.
I would go again, in a heartbeat.
L. C.
Great place for brunch intimate romantic little cottage feel food had great flavours staff were friendly and great service with smile 😃
very popular may need to book in advance..

Went for breakfast on a Tuesday just before 10am. Staff was friendly and quick to offer drinks as well as water and the menu had amazing options. We ordered the Hot mess with additional hash brown and salmon and the Auber jean is not my lover. Both were delicious. It is great to see an offer of different flavours on a breakfast menu. This place stands from the crowd of cafes serving the tradional breakfast options.
After 10 am there was a queu to get in
K.
I picked this cafe at random, loved the name.
Loved the look of the menu.
And today when I went I wasn't disappointed.
I had orange is the new stack - wow.
They are deceiving as I was starvng, and wasn't able to finish it. Yum! Chai tea is delicious too.
Staff were cheery and delightful. Wonderful service.
The only thing I would change is perhaps asking for a bigger table, perhaps requesting a table on the front balcany. We had a party of 3 and we just struggled for space for drinks and food.
But by all means not a complaint though.
Cant wait to come back 🙂
r. u.
Nice little cafe..good ambience and the food..the service is fantastic..the only downside is the orange juice that i ordered..you guys have to change the oranges isnt sweet..Good job guys
S. R.
Helpful, efficient and very friendly staff. Awesome menu with interesting combinations.
All set in an airy and comfortable space. Definitely somewhere I'll visit again. And if you haven't, maybe you should!
Gonna Need a Bigger Boat - Vego option.
M. D.
Food was good but the coffee was even better. Fantastic service and venue, make sure to make a booking with a big group. Walk-in's might have waiting times.
C. R.
We had breakfast this morning and it was the best food I have had in Freo so far. Amazing vegan options. The food is fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. We had the 'Auber Jean is not my Lover' and 'Beauty and the Beet'. The staff were lovely and the garden is cosy. Highly reccommend!!

Duck Duck Bruce is amazing! Delicious food and generous portions. Lovely dining area on the porch and inside too. Be sure to make a booking because it is so popular, you could be waiting a long time to for a table. The only slight downside is that the service can be a tad slow, particularly waiting for your food, but it is always worth the wait. Definitely recommend a visit.
D. H.
Breakfast was amazing, staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is reasonably priced. Would recommend!!!
A. Y.
Australia does breakfast as well as anywhere in the world and of the 21 experienced so far in our holiday, this has been the best. Wonderfully unique menu and all four of our different choices were fabulous. Great local business and I could not recommend highly enough.
E. L.
It's a rainy and cloudy morning. I stopped by and wanted to take away a coffee. As I walked in, I saw a lot of patrons were having breakfast indoors. The chefs must have done an extra effort to the food that brought past me. They made my mouth watery. The indoor decoration is unique and looks a bit like a woody country cafe. Certainly, it has its characteristics and uniqueness. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The coffee was alright. It's a cosy place, I must say. By the way, no ticket for the car parking bays just outside the restaurant before 9 AM. This restaurant opens at 7 AM. Enjoy!
T.
Love this place for a casual breakfast, menu for the kids and a few toys/books for entertainment. Sit inside or outside and bring your fur baby.
E. H.
Server we had was very friendly, food was absolutely fresh & delicious. One star was taken off as they forgot my coffee & went to the counter to check after 1/2 hour & the docket was still sitting there. Otherwise, a pretty pleasant experience.
D. S.
Definitely a hidden gem of Fremantle. They have a carefully crafted and unique menu filled with flavor and passion. Cosy and inviting atmosphere. The staff were super friendly and helpful with making a decision on the menu and cope very well under pressure and high volumes of customers.
The coffee is also of a very good quality and you can taste the enthusiasm of who chose the bean. The price is fair for the quality and quantity of the meal you get, I left not only feeling full but happy.
I not only recommend but encourage dining at Duck Duck Bruce, it's not just a Restaurant to 'grab some food', but an experience. Well done staff, this is definitely a 5 star from me :)
J. M.
This is the best place i have been since i am in Australia.
Everything was tasty, and surprising which is very pleasant.
And those pancakes … if you want some joy in your life, you need thoses pancakes.
P. L.
Very good service, friendly staff, good food, hot chocolate is amazing! Got both indoors and outdoors seats.

Finally visited this highly recommended cafe and it honestly deserves all the praise it gets. Definitely do make a reservation beforehand as it gets pretty busy. A paid car park is available right opposite the cafe (AUD 4 per hr). Staff is so attentive and friendly and the food of course is amazing! We ordered the “Auber jean is not my lover” with a side of extra bacon and chicken and (I believe the) “big breakfast” (I wasnt sure of the name and simply showed a photo I had seen to a staff member and she got it for me :) (with an extra egg, bacon and chicken side). The total meal with two fresh juices cost AUD 90 which was well worth it. The food tastes amazing and loved the vibe. Cant recommend this place enough.
T. L.
Have been here for a nice and chill afternoon hangout on a weekday. Staffs were friendly and I love the little corner to toilet. Food were amazing and I can’t wait to visit again
N. F.
Nice brekki n generous size but pancake is too sweet my daughter couldn’t eat all , need to book as the venue is small
C.
Yummy food, good service and reasonable prices.
A. A. d. S.
Excellent cafe, one of my favourites. Great coffee and amazing food.
Tip, go there very early, because this place gets awfully busy, which is not a surprise as everyone likes a good cafe.
L. S.
Just love this place! Friendly and professional service with good prices in the heart of Freo. Slightly different options to usual breakfast fare and some touches of sheer yummy genius elevating basic dishes from delicious to sublime. I’ll be adding feta-squashed peas and sweetened lemon rind to my avo smash from now on. Love the ‘reserved for X’s gang’ signs too …
R. K.
Delicious and welcoming. My sister and I enjoyed the food, the really smooth cold brew, the chilled, comfortable vibe and the catch up conversations we had while being greeted with very welcoming service. Will recommend to friends and be back soon!
P. H.
Great place. They were incredibly accommodating of dietary preferences, going out of their way to check ingredients without being asked. Amazing!
I. C.
First time here today and kicking myself that I waited so long. My granola bowl was so yum. Staff are so friendly and the puppies at different tables throughout the cafe are simply the most adorable and therapeutic start to the day. Coffee = superb. Very clean place too considering all the pooches. Can't wait to return.
P. C.
Coffees (5 Senses) was perfect (long black)
The food was creative and delicious.
Staff are attentive and informative, one of the group is vegan and the young lady serving us had a friendly confident conversation about options. Her recommendation was spot on.
Thank you DDB.
We will be back.
H. G.
My first time there & I could not fault it! Loved the presentation of my dish & flavours & so did my girls. We'll be back & have recommended this restaurant to others.
R. E.
Best brunch in Fremantle! Really interesting menu, delicious coffee and great service. Thanks Duck Duck Bruce team - we loved our visit!
E. S.
Been here twice thus far, great experience both times. They are happy to adapt menu items to make vegan. The beetroot salad I had was delicious and super filling. Coffee was without fault too. Great local Cafe ☕😋👌
A. W.
LOVE this café. Fresh food, loaded with flavour, that never disappoints. Do yourself a favour! 😋
C. M.
If you want a great food experience, then go to Duck Duck Bruce. I’m taking everyone I know here! AMAZING! And to top it of, my long mac topped up was one of the best I’ve ever had
S. P.
Just loved the food ,service the setting.....very enjoyable...
R. J. H. (.
Love their atmosphere and highly recommend their customer service. Staff was kind and bright to serve every meal and coffee really impressive. The meal was nice and reasonable price the only reason that I gave 4 stars, food comes out more than 30mins later.. Other than that all good 👍
C. M.
Great spot to grab a delicious bite to eat! Get in early as it fills up quickly, but the staff is great and will try to fit you in as quick as they can. We visited here twice when in Fremantle. Yummy food, friendly stuff and a chill & cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended!
D. J.
Simply the best breakfast in Fremantle.
The service was prompt, the food came out hot and was incredibly flavourful.
Booking a table for breakfast is highly recommended, as it gets very busy During the Sunday breakfast rush.
Shout of to the staff, as they handled the rush with effortless ease
K. C.
We grabbed a takeaway coffee and cake, being a public holiday there was a 10min wait but it was worth the wait the coffee was amazing upthere with my best this year! Great service, so good can't wait to come back for a sit down meal.
K. J.
Been to a lot of places hunting for a great breakfast all over Australia. The food here was up there with the best! Utterly delicious. Great friendly service, and also fast service despite being busy! Creative and interesting dishes that were attractive and full of flavour. Good breakfast drink list too. Highly recommended.
H. K.
Awesome service and good food. Their coffee needs a bit more care and love I think but amazing friendly service and good food was enough to make it up.
V. K.
The food here is so different from the standard brunch you get at other places and seriously so good! Love the chilled ambience and the friendly service too. Don't normally give 5 stars but this time I had to!
S. A.
The place was small and cozy. It fills up super quick on breakfast, but gladly we made a booking. The food was okay, the name was pretty hipster and complicated, the price was fair. And coffee was great
W. W.
Visited here twice. The first time I had the lamb bad lamb which was actually delicious with rich flavors. The second time we had the power tower, the chicken and kale salad, which we found just medium. The drinks were average as well, the lassi was quite different from what we had had before, and the you carried a watermelon was not highly spoken of... the spiced chai was average too but the portion was good. Service which differed, was not bad but not outstanding. The vibes and environment were actually lovely.
G. H.
Amazingly interesting brunch menu. Everything sounded great and the two dishes we chose certainly were delicious. Staff friendly and helpful too. Going back again to try something else today
J.
Amazing food and amazing drinks! It is small, however, it adds to the experience. I would recommend booking early to secure a spot, it can get quite chaotic
J.
What a lovely little restaurant! This place serves a variety of dishes. I ordered the sausage burger and it was amazing! The chilli, spice, hash brown & cheese custard complimented each other so well! Definitely coming back to try the other dishes.
The watermelon juice was very refreshing and the black tea chai was delicious with the honey.
Staff were very friendly and helpful even when they were quite busy.
You’d be a duck duck goose if you don’t give this place a try!
A. P.
Absolutely loved everything about it. Unique Menu with even better taste profiles.
Had a nice chat with the owners (who were also working on floor 👍🏻) on how they got inspiration from traveling in India.
Coffee was good as well. A must try for a breakfast/ brunch.
S. L.
My pancakes 🥞 was astonishing, I loved the ideas of having citrus sweet sauce with the fluffy sponge and the poppy seeds to top on to milden the sweetness.
The customer service was generally good, but if the waiter/ waitress could respect the customers’ own conversation at table, didn’t make fun(repeat what the customer said) behind the counter, it would be more professional.
G. R.
This is one of my favourite spots! Great food & coffee! The young girl that served us was super friendly & welcoming!
D. W.
3rd time here. Always loved the food. Food came very late today as there was another table with a dozen people. Love how you can create your own juice with the same price.
L. H.
The food is AMAZING!! We stupidly didn't book for Saturday brunch but the staff were really lovely and we didn't have to wait long. The drinks were quick and super tasty and the food was just incredible. It was pretty quick, especially considering how busy it was, and not your usual breakfast choices. My partner is a wheelchair user and there are 2 steps on the way in, because she was in a manual chair it was easy to bump up the steps but she couldn't have done it in her power chair. We didn't ask about a ramp.
A.
Amazing breakfast and coffee, not sure about the comments saying it took ages, we were in and out in about 30mins
L. S.
First of all the staff is amazing. Super professional and smiley which made the whole experience even better.
I personally recommend the Cold Brew for coffee (in the teddy bear glass!)
The food was amazing too, and generous quantity
A. D.
I was truly and utterly disappointed when I finished my meal. It meant that it was done and I couldn’t taste that flavour sensation any more. This place is pricey but well worth it. Thank you to that glorious chef and thank you barista for a delicious coffee.
T.
Been for breakfast, the chai was amazing, for one it’s proper chai and the pancakes were the best i ever had! All the menu is original and i’d like to taste everything. Strongly recommended !
L. O.
Lovely breakfast place and super original menú. I tried the "aubergine is not my lover" (or something like that), I didn't know exactly what to expect because it seemed like lots of strange ingredients, BUT WOW!! I would shake my hand with the chef who invented this plate! If you want to try something new, just try this! Very kind staff too.
E.
I’ve never had a bad experience at Duck Duck Bruce.
The staff are super friendly and always genuinely check in to ensure you’re happy (in which I always have been!).
The food not only looks amazing it has the taste to back it, there’s also amazing freshly made juices and coffee on offer.
Get around it and support local!
J. R.
Service was quick, and the staff were friendly. I'm not too sure about the fusion style that they are going for here, but the dish that i ordered wasn't the best. The eggs were cooked nicely, but the fried potato was a bit too oily for me and left a greasy after taste in my mouth. The chai latte had a good flavour to it, but wasn't as strong as i was expecting it to be. I would definitely was to revisit to try something else on their menu.
h. S.
Duck Duck Bruce is a hidden gem in Fremantle and it must be tired if you are there. Coffee and food were amazing. We also tired freshly squeezes juice orange, carrot, lemon and ginger not too over powering and not sweet, very subtle taste.
Servings were massive so no need to add any of the sides but that's just my opinion. Menu included hint of Indian cuisine which was a first for me and it was very interesting and definelty worth and try.
R. F.
Such a lovely little spot for brunch. Really good coffee and an interesting varied menu with something for everyone. I had the orange is the new stack pancakes and they were so delicious. They take mostly walk ins but it's not a bad idea to book on weekend morning's so you don't have to wait.
A. L.
Delicious food, great place, nice service 👍🏻will come back
H. ミ. G.
Really nice, great to come and get some healthy food. Catering to people of all diets from vegan to carnivore. I came with friends to start a day out and it having brekkie here jumpstarted the day!
Only drawback is you have to wait outside in the sun for quite a while before you get to come in. (Which may not be good if it's raining or 42°)
Definitely recommend 👍
A. D. O.
Had the pancake stack - this rarely happens, but I couldn't finish it! Overall, the flavours were delicious, but it was extremely filling. Would definitely give the soy mocha (with extra chocolate) 5 stars! Everyone else also loved their breakfast - there's something for everyone on the menu. Very busy on Easter Monday! There's a nice selection of indoor and outdoor tables to choose from.
A.
Went here yesterday for brunch and absolutely loved it! Staff were super friendly and helpful, coffee was great and tasty, and to top it off, food was amazing!!! Can't wait to come back here again 😍
N.
People were flowing out of this cafe, it caught our eye so we went & understood why it was so busy. The service was amazing, the person who served us was funny and attentive regardless of how busy it was. Menu selection was big and the names of the dishes were just adorable. Dog friendly, yummy coffee and parking across the street. Totally recommend.
M. L. D.
About flawless!
The food, coffee, cakes, service, venue is all so calmly excellent. The food is cooked to perfection and a little extra special without being pretentious, fresh news papers, fresh cakes and they also get the coffee right every time.
It’s always busy and well deserved, for the local and tourist this place has plenty of seating but never enough. I rate this place. Take a date, take the family on Sunday, go it alone. Just don’t go past duck duck Bruce!
S. H.
The food on the menu was refreshingly different and tasty. The service was friendly and responsive. When there was a problem with our order the staff were prompt to rectify the issue. We will be back here again!
W.
Fantastic Sunday brunch/lunch and it’s BYO!
I enjoyed a fantastic Sunday brunch/lunch here and was very impressed. Funky decor, fun fresh and interesting menu, trendy crowd. Relaxed atmosphere.
The breakfast menu does end at 11:30/12pm and they move onto the lunch menu. However their spicy sausage burger with bacon and egg certainly filled my craving.
Also, note that there is no alcohol on the menu but it is byo. So don’t forget the champagne to add to your fresh squeezed oj if your chasing a fantastic mimosa.
Can’t wait to come back!
B.
Couldn't fault it! The service was truly welcoming and the menu was amazing. I went with the stewed rhubarb with granola and coconut whip. It was absolutely delicious especially on a hot 41 degree day. Accompanied by a cold drip that really hit the spot! Would happily recommend. Just wish I didn't live so far away to make this my local.
M. A.
Super inviting house-cum-brunch spot with well thought out interior design.
Staff were beyond accommodating and provided great recommendations.
Great coffees but the star of the show was the homemade cake selection. Pretty sure they’re pumping elicit substances into the peanut butter brownie as I’ve been suffering withdrawal since the gooey goodness hit my chops.
Highly recommend.
s. u.
Delicious food, great ambience. I had the smashed avocado, my partner had the sausage and bacon platter. Everything was great!
L. 1.
Food is lush. So much flavour; unique! They even cure their own salmon!
The little bhaji hash browns are the BOMB!
The ONLY thing if I were to give a critique (which I’m really digging in the bottom of the barrel for here), would be the coffee came out warm and not hot. Which meant we had to drink up fairly quickly and therefore, didn’t have coffee with our meal :(
But INsane! Lovely vibe, met Woody who is sooo friendly. You’ve got to come here! Just don’t sit in my corner ;)
K. R.
Simply delicious, a great way to start any day. Service brilliant and efficient with a smile
M. K.
We went to Duck Duck Bruce in Freo.
It's located in the heart of Freo.
My verdict of this restaurant is very good. The dishes came with very interesting names.
We ordered these two dishes, directly quoted from the menu.
— this little piggy went to market —
brucey's spiced sausage burger, sesame bun, cheese custard, smashed hash brown, bacon jam, more bacon, fried egg, chilli, crispy shallots
$21 — Auber jean is not my lover —
crispy fennel potato straws, spinach,
almonds, Ivan's Goan eggplant pickle, roti, coconut sambal, eggs, raita
Out of these 2 dishes, I like the aubergine dish more. It have more depth in the dish as there dimension in taste, the aubergine was tangy and soft, the coconut crunchy and the roti is light and chewy.
We ordered the ice coffee, flat white, cappuccino and a healthy option juice. The coffee is really good.
We will return to try their other dishes.
B. F.
Awesome service, great menu. You'll be back!
E. S.
To start off, I’ve been reading and writing reviews for 4+ years, and I think this place is possibly the best-reviewed places I’ve ever been to. Having 50+ reviews and 4.8 starts is quite an achievement. Anyway, to the meal:
THE GOOD:
The pancakes were perhaps the best I’ve ever had, with oranges, and a lemon cheesecake cream, poppyseeds and cinnamon. My wife got the Benny with Chorizo, and I can’t emphasise enough how good the chorizo was. The service was also excellent, everyone was incredibly friendly, and the vibe of the place was quintessential Australian cafe. I would recommend a booking as it can be a bit crowded at times. I emailed them with a booking, and when we arrived there was a menu on the table with my name on it.
THE AVERAGE:
The iced Mocha, almond milk latte, and spinach that accompanied the Benny were all fairly run-of-the-mill, as was the bacon. Although these things were all good, there wasn’t much to write home about there.
THE BAD:
The only bad thing was the amount of flies around (we were there at 8:30am), which greatly hindered our experience. I don’t know that there’s anything they can do about that, but it did have an impact, and we left immediately after finishing eating because we didn’t want to linger with all the flies around.
B.
Cute and very popular little place tucked away in Fremantle. The breakfast menu is very comprehensive and the prices are reasonable. We had the Rhu-barbra Streisand granola which was a bit too sweet for us, but still nice. The range of teas were good and the coffee is Five Senses which I believe is good coffee.. I'm just not a coffee drinker!
O. P.
Very charming spot across the cinema and secure parking. Outdoor and indoor seating. Hanging art with a sense of humour. Love the succulents. Play area for kids outdoors. Coffee was good.
M. W.
The menu at the delightful Duck Duck Bruce is inventive. Especially loved the dish names on menu. Very friendly staff. Defs be back.
L. F.
Exceptional breakfast. One of the best breakfast I had so far - across continents. That‘s a recommendation, if you want to start your day just perfect!
The staff was really friendly, the café itself is nice, the coffee (we had flat whites) was super smooth but not to soft, just perfect and the food simply great.
We had to head south, otherwise we‘d have been back the next day. Thanks Duck Duck Bruce.
H. Z.
Best Cafe in Fremantle!!
Attractive food, relaxing environment & really friendly staff made us and our dog have an amazing Sunday there. Definitely will recommend to all my friends!!!
M. O.
I've been here a few times now and the food is always really good.
J. B.
1* per criteria
- Service: Welcoming, friendly service from locals - typical Fremantle charm.
- Quality/Taste: Amazing food with fresh flavours, and quality coffee.
- Price: On par for other places but the quality and service makes it great value.
- Atmosphere: Indoor and outdoor seating areas make it comfortable and easy to unwind and chat over brunch/lunch
Overall: Probably the best spot to have brunch if you're hungry!
A. M.
Seriously couldn't fault this place. The food was excellent, the service was super friendly, and the atmosphere was cosy and laid back. Beautiful breakfast and coffee spot in the heart of Fremantle.
A.
Set in a wonderful Australian colonial style place, Duck Duck Bruce offers a homely Cafe experience.
When you walk in, the atmosphere, decor & staff all eminiate a welcoming comfort, you just want to sit and relax with a coffee in this place.
The menu is concise offering familiar favourites such as a sausage roll with an artisinal twist that'll make you want to try more menu items to see Duck Duck Bruce's spin on it.
Staff are laid back but efficient, you won't be disappointed by their attentiveness.
It's worth going here to enjoy the location & decorations and try one dish, would be fine for just a quiet coffee too.
Needs a little more attention to the food & a bit of a dust.
C. A.
Great service. Delicious meals cooked with love. Thankyou.

I came in for lunch and ordered “this little piggy went to market” and after waiting for about 25 minutes I had to enquire about my order which was forgotten or lost. This wasn’t a good start, however, the staff and manager were very apologetic and went to a great length to make up for their mistake.
The spiced sausage burger was quite good and I would be happy to come back and give Duck Duck Bruce another go next time I’m in Freo.
B. S.
Very nice setting, doggo friendly. Great service. 4 stars due to getting flat white when asking for long black coffee- it was peak hour so an easy mistake. Fair pricing- park on marine terrace
D. K.
After having read the great reviews on Google, we were excited for a lovely brunch but ended up with over seasoned food that could have done with a bit more flavour. Coffee was good but food could've been better. On the bright side, decor and layout was warm and cosy and the staff were welcoming and friendly.
D. S.
Love Duck Duck Bruce the perfect cafe for a hipster vibe, amazing fusion cuisine breaky and gluten free cakes to die for! Best coffee shop in Freo!
k. a.
This place has a great ambience, we went there for lunch. The staff are super nice and caring.
However, I found the menu quite limited with not many choices. Also the food quality was pretty average. It's worth a try but didn't meet my expectations from the reviews I read prior.
I should also add that the coffee was great.
h. o.
The cakes are amaZing here! Charlie, the lady in charge makes it so beautifully! Although, the food took about 30 mins to reach us, it was very delicious!
S. S.
Love the menu, inventive dishes with an Indian influence, Auber Jean is not my Lover is a particular favourite, be warned, it is spicy... great coffee, cute setting. All around good breakfast spot.
C. M.
100% quality food menu, service and atmosphere! chai heaven and for my friend who has severe food allergies the staff at 'Duck Duck Bruce' were so helpful and didn't make her feel terribly uncomfortable asking for help in altering one of their dishes. Quite the opposite, they were lovely and made dining out with friends a pleasurable experience that she looks forward to doing again. Thank you, and see you again soon 'Duck Duck Bruce'!
A. Z.
Yummy, Worth the half hour wait for a table.
B. C.
It's full because it's good! It's soooooooo good! Staff is super nice, the place is cute with the backyard, the decoration etc. And the food is yummy! We had the hollandaise with avocado and salmon, and the auber-jean, plus cappuccino, tea and juice. I can't say anything else than awesome! ❤❤❤🎉💃🙏
N. C.
Great food, some of the best pancakes I've ever had and great service. Would definitely go back
J. L.
Fantastic spot for brunch or lunch! This place has a menu full of quirky names but each item is delicious and worth trying.
J. O.
Another super popular spot that suffers from its popularity. Funky place, great menu and friendly staff... However now it is so very busy packed with fans the coffee and meals take along time to arrive and are just off the mark
B. D.
Cool Joint, but beware their pancakes are lemon infused,
Long Sorry short my cousin got 2 Lots of Lemon Infused Pancakes
A. K.
Very very good and the friendliness of the staff was very much noticed. Nothing too much trouble and all the right timings for serving coffees, food and payment. Looking forward to returning.
K. P.
Excellent service as always. The food served beautifully and really worth the wait. The pancakes was perfect for the dessert ♥️
S. E.
Walk-ins are welcome but bookings preferred. The rustic charm and staff greet you with a smile. Special mention for the vanilla pancakes 😋 and fresh juices are delicious.
L. M.
Small homely cafe tucked just off the popular cappuccino strip in Fremantle.
Really nice outside area, friendly staff, and chilled vibes make this place a little gem.
We had the this little piggy went to market, it's not easy being green and brinjal style, basically a fancy burger, a smashed avocado on toast (gf toast) and fried potato bits with pickled eggplants and a bbq-ish sauce.
Everything was nice, but not as flavoursome as we thought from the interesting descriptions provided on the menu, our favorite dish of the three was definitely the potato that had unique characteristics and complexity.
With the sun out in the sky it was overall a nice experience.
J. V.
So yummy and beautiful 😍
S.
Absolutely love the atmosphere at duck duck Bruce. The food & coffee are great. The service is always superb and friendly. I highly recommend this place.
R. H.
Cool cafe with a fun feel. Love the punny menu and the sizing options on drinks. Their breakfast menu is outstanding and I recommend the whole menu. Haven't had a bad experience here and we will be back soon.

Great service, great coffee and very tasty (and pretty) breakfast dishes. Photo is of the pancake stack, super tasty.
Visited on a friend's recommendation and I'll certainly be recommending this place to my friends.

I really wanted to like Duck Duck Bruce more than I actually did. I love their sister place Lions & Tigers, so I was really looking forward to trying DDB's breakfast and coffee. I booked a table for 11am (bear in mind that their website says your table will be held for 10 minutes only), and was a bit annoyed to be told that it wasn't ready, so would we mind waiting? Except this means literally standing in the street, along with all the other fed up diners who arrived to be seated at tables that are still occupied. I don't care how fecking good the menu is at a cafe, making your paying clients stand in the street is inexcusable. I'm just glad it wasn't raining.
We eventually got seated about 10 minutes late, and our orders were taken pretty quickly. Drinks arrived within a few minutes, and things were looking up....but 30 minutes later we were still waiting for our food. There were three of us, so it's not as if we booked the place out, and the 90 minute sitting stipulated by DDB began to look a little ominous. I wonder what happens when your food takes so long to arrive that you end up going past your 90 minute slot?
Anyway, the food was very good when it finally arrived. It's just a shame that the wait killed off any chance of us actually savouring it, as we were so hungry by then that we'd have eaten anything we got.
If the ultimate recommendation for an establishment is if you'd happily return, then DDB fails. The food is good, the service is friendly, but the ridiculous wait for the food to actually arrive, and the standing in the street waiting for a table which you booked ahead, are too amateurish for me to bother with again. Fremantle has plenty more reasonably priced, more efficient cafes that this one.

Set in a old limestone cottage, converted with lots of seating throughout, it's a newish spot to me (not a frequent visitor to Freo), the puns on the menu intrigued me. Went in and got the Beans, Beans Good for the heart, old mate lassi and pina colada spider. I loved it, onion jam and bbq sauce in the baked beans added a depth of flavour to the baked beans (I wonder if using more than white beans will impact it further), the little slices of toast was perfect. My toddler enjoyed the beans a lot. Great friendly service from all staff. I would come here again.
H. W.
What an absolutely beautiful experience. Service, atmosphere and food was unreal!! 100% recommend
M. W. W. L.
Cute and cosy brunch venue in a renovated Freo cottage. We had the Auber(Jean) and Beet menu options. Personally I like my food a bit more seperated out into the different elements, but if you are into all-in-one flavour and texture combos, this place is good.
M. d. Y.
Great spot in Freo. Food, coffee, and service always excellent.
M. C.
Food delicious reasonably priced staff friendly and efficient
Place was busy but wait time was ok
G.
This place has excellent service, most places take quite a while to just ask you what you want but this place did it really quickly, the food was delicious and so were the drinks. I came here with my family and we all loved the food!
R. M.
Brunch style food with an Indian/spicy twist. The food is quite rich in flavour which may not suit some tastes. Cold brew and mango lassi were also really good.
E. H.
One of the best lattes I've had! Quite a quaint place with a calm atmosphere, and service was really kind. Only thing I wish was different was the cup coming with a carboard/something holder as the glass was quite hot :)
B. S.
A regular for my Wife & I. We love this place. Great staff and even better food 👌👌
Y. L.
Cheerful and attentive service. Fantastic, tasty and creative food and drinks. Warm ambience.
N. M.
Wow, such a lovely work lunch, thank you for your great service and delicious menu options!
L. B.
Small menu, good choice, lovely food, fresh and presented invitingly. Nice staff. Return visit when next in Fremantle.
C. S.
Dear God in heaven their tower burger is just phenomenal. Everyone is all like, "oh hey, this burger is good you know". Well they can sit down and be humble. They know not what they speak of.
On an important note... This is a breakfast/lunch and whatever hybrid in between type burger. Finally Egg and fried chicken come together with other unknown wickers magic to create what can only be described as a masterpiece that will one day given the exposure that this review will get it, it will out shine nobodies like "the Beatles" or "the Sistine chapel".
So stop your face from reading all my current hilarious reviews, get down to Fremantle, find parking, keep looking for parking, drive around the... No wait there's one Park there.., and get into Duck Duck Bruce.
I'm not going to take stars of them re the burger, however they are in no way prepared for the zombie apocalypse. Very undefended. 1/11 zombie stars. :(
B. V.
Food was top notch but it was the service that made the difference, every person we interacted with was happy, smiling and looking to help. 👌
R. C.
Delicious whole food, friendly and attentive service. The menu caters to those who enjoy eating healthy, and includes plant based options. We stopped for lunch with limited time before an appointment, and staff were very responsive and made sure our food came out quickly. Will definitely add this little gem to my list of regular lunch stops.
K. H.
Soooo yum!!!! Amazing food, service and cute little venue. Seriously visit this place it’s incredible!
S. P.
Visited at lunch. Not too busy. Table was dirty, needed proper wipe down. Server was nice, but didn't clean it well. Menus were also pretty grimey, food stained. Since only paper, they should be changed more often. Food was interesting, tasty. Pretty good value. Takeaway coffee was good.
G. H.
So friendly and considerate. We asked about gelatin in the cheesecake part of the pancakes, which they confirmed was gelatin-free. But then they remembered that another part did have gelatin and made them for us without.
M. K.
Best breakfast in Perth!
M. V.
Quite possibly the best pancakes I've ever had. Amazing food and friendly staff. Couldn't recommend more highly!
M.
Friendly service, great food variety and sweet vibes. Loved the Avocado Toast and chai for brekkie. Had the best service and loved the little backyard seating.
C. W.
Whoooaaaaaa!! What a place. I had the 'we're gonna need a bigger boat breakfast partnered with the 'if you like pina colada' spider (you might think it's odd to have this with breakfast but it's good). Everything was beautiful. I am in Perth on vacation for a few weeks and I will be going here again.......and again......and again. Recommended y'all.
H. T.
Came here for my birthday lunch today and was so happy! Lovely staff and my food was insanely good. I had the Auber Jean is not my love, great portion size and each mouthful was different and so tasty. Husbands chilli, ginger egg dish was also very nice. Decent coffees, one of the best decafs I've had!
J. J.
The food in this place is absolutely amazing. This is my new favourite for breakfast. Orange is the new stack pancakes were the best pancakes I’ve ever had. Coffee was great and service was professional and friendly. Whoever devised the menu, with such an explosion of flavours deserves a gold medal. Well done to the chefs. Highly recommend.
S. D.
The fried burger and pancakes were perfect to share.. sooo yummy! Highly recommend :)
N. G.
Today we celebrated my mother in law’s birthday at this place. Booked a table. We bought cake. Food was delicious but left a bit disappointed as they charged $15 as cakeage fee which they told us after we cut and ate the cake. Charging was ok but not telling in advance was unfair. Other than that it is a great place for breakfast and brunch.
J. C. P. C.
Friendly staff. Excellent food. I have tried Mocha and was delightful. So I guess the others are also nice.
K. B.
Top notch coffee and unique brunch options
C. O. C.
Fab spot! Ricky our waitress was fabulous and took great care of us! Food is 10/10. Veggie breakfast is amazing and makes fresh juices to order. Highly recommend!
N. B.
Food was too good, especially their pancakes. In love with their lime, cardamom carrot cake too, the flavours were blending so well. Will definitely come again :)
A. S.
The food was just amazing. Was abit much for me but definitely worth a visit! Ordered the pesh spice this time, will be back next to try beauty and the beet.
S. N.
Wow, an off the cuff visit turned into a totally unexpected afternoon of delicious fare. Not your run of the mill coffee and smashed avo kind of place, these guys have an exciting menu, beautiful presentation, sensible prices combined with good service. We'll be back!!
G. C.
Amazing place for breakfast with the best staff in the area.
Everything is fresh and we'll made
G. L.
Seriously the best brunch I’ve had in ages. And the closest thing to an NYC quality brunch since I moved away from NYC.y partner and I ate here two mornings in a row we were so happy with the brunch. We wish where we live had a selection and attention to food detail like DDB. Can’t wait to visit this place for another meal!
S. D.
Its not easy being green and long machiato. Really healthy light brunch in a cool location
T. H.
Busy but they found us a table inside for 4 people. Not sure I have ever had such cheerful and friendly service in Perth. Food was tasty and serves were a good size.
S. F.
Make a booking as often need to wait. Food good, service good. Place a little small.
C. I.
Went for Sunday brunch and had a great time. Food was amazing and staff were very pleasant and kind. I’d recommend making a booking as there was a long line of people outside waiting for a table. Cute interior and patio as well. Will definitely come back!
L.
Lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere and the food is amazing. Staff are also all very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend.
A. F.
Service was good considering it was quite busy. Juices and coffee are great. Staff and setting are very nice. Food is absolutely delicious. The aubergine dish is incredible 🤤 best birthday breakfast everrr
L. H.
lovely cafe and friendly staff😍😍😍 great coffee! food tastes and looks amazing 🤗
K.
The "we're going to need a bigger boat" plate is ah may zang. Couldn't finish it though, a very generous serve. Quite possibly the best brunch place in Freo!
Ah and the service is very good.
D. T.
We had the pancake stack and smashed peas and avo on toast which was excellent. The chai tea and juice was damn tasty. Atmosphere was amazing- chilled, cosy and easy. we had 2 young ones there and the staff were so accommodating and cheerful. Def would recommend ; what a good experience 👌
P. D.
I brought a birthday girl here and the food was great. I booked in advance, which was a good idea even for a weekday.
We both had the Auber Jean is not my lover.
What a dish. It had everything you wanted. Some crunch, some tang, some nuttiness, sweet creamy spiced Aubergine all on a bed of roti. ✨🥰🤩 Heaven.
Cake cabinet was a bit same same, so we had dessert elsewhere. Although, I did notice the Persian Love cake.
S. W.
Was ok nothing to get excited and overpriced coffee was bitter
E. F.
Epic food, busy little place but everything was served quickly and perfectly. It's definitely a place I'll visit again!!!
R. M.
Great spot for breakfast. Not your usual fare and a nice twist with some of the subcontinent flavours. The other half lived the pancakes and highly recommends them to all. It’s very popular, particularly on the weekends, so booking ahead will save a 20-40 minute wait.
M. M.
Coffee was good.....
M.
Food was really good! The carrot cake was super delicious...probably the best carrot cake i have ever had.....good service....coffee should have been hotter...and it took a while to come out...it was good but warm..if it was a bit hotter it would have been perfect...but yeh i recommend this place for sure
M. K.
Great place for an amazing breakfast.
J. M.
Stumbled in it. Food awesome, service 101...clean toilets...great theme food .
j.
The best breakfast spot! Coffee is always perfect and the food is amazing. The staff are sunshines and service is always awesome. The first place i recommend to anyone visiting Fremantle. Thanks guys!!
L. B.
Good food with very particular tastes, friendly service great coffee. Recommended
s. c.
Very good and customer service was gold standard.
H. N.
Excellent food, interior design was nice and friendly staff!
B. H.
Terrific food, amazing friendly and prompt service, excellent coffee, can't fault!
C. M.
A great brekky place in Freo, funky surrounds. Only had poached eggs and coffee - so couldn't really give a full five stars. Will be back and hope to upgrade the review!
E. v. K.
The atmosphere and aesthetic at Duck Duck Bruce is perfectly tempered to create a chill and authentic Freo vibe. The building is beautifully clean with awesome paint, plants and old wood floors, benches and chairs. The meal my girlfriend and I ate was the "Tower of Power", a delicious meal that was reasonably priced and filled both of us up. The staff and menu are self aware with good humour which creates an all around satisfying experience. I would highly recommend.
D. C.
Unique Avo smash with smashed peas. Good vibes good music open early. Good spot!
A. R.
Small boutique style fusion restaurant. Friendly staff. Food was awesome and menu is interesting!!
L. T.
Stopped by for a late brekkie today and wasn't disappointed. Great food, friendly service, book in advance, they're busy for a reason!!
K. J.
First time coming here for lunch and it was fantastic! Had food envy of everyone's meal around me (including my own). Some of the most delicious food I have ever tasted. Will be back in the near future.
D. M.
First time we came here we couldn't get a seat as too busy, fortunately this time we were able to and after having breakfast here i can see why they are always full of patrons, excellent food and exceptional service with very fair pricing, my new favourite cafe , 5 stars
S. B.
The recommendations don't lie, a beautiful cafe with tasty food. The pear bircher and salmon hollandaise weren't both hits. Coffee was full of flavour.
A. O. D.
This is one of the best, if not the best breakfasts I have had in Perth.
Staff are really friendly and accommodating.
Coffee was lovely, food was amazing.
I had the 'We're going to need a bigger boat" breakfast and it was delicious. Poached eggs were exactly like they should be.
Pancakes option looked great too.
Will definitely be returning here sometime soon.
K. M.
Lovely, helpful staff and great food/drinks. Thanks guys 👍👍
R. C.
We had to look hard to find this but it was worth it. Home Style (if you live in a house with an abundance of good food) healthy foods where you can see the passion of the kitchen.
M. G.
Nice little Cafe with friendly staff. Their home-blend chai was exceptional.
Even a simple egg and mushrooms on toast was delicious! Not a huge range of choices.. But still looked delicious on the menu.
D. L.
An ordinary house look from outside but definitely awesome food, atmosphere and service inside I gotta say. Totally worth revisiting over and over. Yummo.
J. T.
Awesome food and service, very reasonably priced
H. J.
Delicious food, great setting. No turmeric latte which was a shame, but great mylk options and desserts!
A. I.
Always busy, great spot to grab lunch. The food is cooked with a twist.
K. L.
Wow YUM!
Friendly, efficient staff
Tasty creative enjoyable
C. M.
Great relaxed and friendly environment. Lovely food and coffee.
Please, please keep serving kitchen orders past 1.30pm on weekends. At least 2.30pm seems to be the norm although my favourite cafe's go longer.
J. H.
Interesting cafe that has an amazingly varied selection of breakfast dishes. The coffee is delicious and the atmosphere is friendly and intriguing.
Staff are delightful and happy to provide recommendations for some of the more obscure, but delicious, menu items.
Seating is available street side, inside and in a shaded urban garden area.
S. D.
AMAZING!
The food was delicious, interesting & plenty of choice plus happy to cater for dietary requirements.
Staff were super friendly, enthusiastic & attentive.
Cute vibe and interior, definitely coming back on the reg.
Thanks!
L.
Have tried so many breakfast places in Freo and now we only go to Duck Duck Bruce. Amazing
Menu, great coffee, warm friendly service every time, dog friendly. Love love love this place.
P. B.
Not a great selection but food was very nice. Coffee good. Was overcharged big time but after a bit got a refund to the right menu prices.
S. W.
Great service and super tasty fresh food!! Yummo..
L. H.
Delicious breakfast and coffee. Gorgeous, friendly and efficient service.
R. D.
Excellent service, funky decor...chefs should explore abit more spice not seasoning
T. J.
We visited on the weekend and arrived in good time to only have to wait a few minutes for a table.
The dishes have an Indian/desi slant and almost everything on the menu looks great. I ordered the Auber Jean is Not My Lover (eggplant on roti) which was a great combination of flavours and textures. The dish produced widespread food envy from my fellow diners and I think it’s quite possible it is the best thing on the menu.
The coffees were excellent, particularly the cold brew.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived at the breakfast peak and dishes were a little slow to come out, but the staff were mindful of this and apologetic.
We will definitely be back.
Z. B.
The food is just incredible. No matter what I order on the menu I always enjoy it and leave very satisfied. Fresh ingredients always, friendly service, tasty coffee, and fair prices. Duck duck Bruce is seriously a must in freo!
S. T.
Very good food and very nice staff.
J. S.
Great coffee, July, food and really friendly staff.
Amazing and different breakfast menu that was really surprising and delicious.
Nice atmosphere and vibe about the place, felt really relaxed and welcoming.
Only niggling things was the wait for our food was a bit long. They weren't crazy busy and it took about 40 mins for breakfast to come out. There were only 3 of us too.
I wouldn't let that put me off though. Would highly recommend and go back.
K. M.
The Indian style cuisine was outstanding. Beautiful flavours and textures and great value for money. Service was so friendly and down to earth that we felt more like guests than customers. Will definitely be going back again.
M. C.
This place deserves every star. Wonderful little cafe, tucked away in a quiet street. Loved the decor. The staff were friendly and helpful. Best of all, the food was incredible and the coffee delicious. I hope they never take the aubergine dish off the menu, because I think I just fell in love.
P. L.
Good friendly service and creative meals👌
R. F.
Had a delicious lunch here on Thursday. The staff were awesome, so friendly and attentive. The food was amazing and I will be back to try more dishes!
C. C.
Great food at great prices, walking distance to everything
J.
Very quirky and trendy place (in a good way!). Wholeheartedly love the souls that work here; a beautiful bunch of staff, inside and out. Best menu I've ever seen (partly because of what is on offer and partly because of the names of their dishes). Great coffee, great food and great vibes. If I didn't live so far away, I would waste entire paychecks here.
j. t.
AMAZING service!!
It's so nice to walk in and be greeted with a smile and friendly disposition.
I ordered a chai latte and was asked if I wanted some honey in it. Never have I been asked that before so took him up on it and needless to say, it was amazing.
It was also really nice to see the other staff being so attentive to the seated patrons.
Didn't eat but the names of the dishes are hilarious and very clever. Also really reasonably priced and what I saw looked delicious!
👍👍
T. N.
The service here is absolutely amazing, the team are all professional, happy, friendly and attentive.
The Barista is OUTSTANDING, made the perfect coffee!
And the food... I have never had such amazing food in my life I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful it is!
There is definitely a reason this place is so popular... Well multiple reason!!
H. K.
This was our first time to visit the café. We being lucky to have different sort of vegetarian and vegan options in food. The staff was friendly and service was great. :)
P. V.
Wow. Great mugs of steaming coffee well made and presented, chilli eggs with a kick like a fork up the nose, a delicious aubergine surprise and great service. We will be back for brekky. Top rating.
J. C.
Great little spot, good coffee, great service, tasty slices and cakes. Also do a great breakfast and intend to return for a 3rd and fourth time soon. 4 stars may seem tight considering how much I like it but the location opposite the parking garage just stops me lovin' it.
EDIT
Parking garage no longer bothers me😆
Definitely deserves the 5 stars. Service, coffee, food and ambience are a standout, even with the options we have in Freo.
I. W.
Beautiful breakfast, blown away by the attentive service, great coffee. Thank you
K. K.
Atmosphere brilliant service excellent food was very good
N. W.
Great offering, reasonable pricing. Food was delicious. More vegan options would be nice though :)
A. T.
Really great service here and the coffee was delicious. I ordered the summer hollandaise and it was very pleasing. Everyone else at the table was happy with their breakfast as well. The menu being in 'pun' form is very funny and makes for a good laugh. Will be back again for sure.
K. K.
Fun menu and atmosphere. Really friendly staff. Great flavours across the menu.
S. f.
I don’t often leave reviews, but i just feel i should let people know how bloody good this place is!!! We went in for a bit of late breakfast we had our daughter in a pram, we were shown to a good table where we could sit easily, we were told the kitchen was about to close but they let us order not feeling rushed, we had awesome coffee, even more awesome food we shared the pancakes and the eggplant dish. I don’t think there is enough stars to give. If your thinking of going just go you wont be disappointed! We will be back!!
A. H.
Great food menu and great tasting coffee. Nice cafe in the heart of freo. Whilst its a decent size would recommend booking on weekends if you dont want to wait as its very popular.
E. k.
Delicious food for breakfast and friendly staff, except that the food was a little bit cold
M. F.
Amazing little gem of a place, especially for breakfast. We stayed next door at the hotel. If you do, don’t bother with their breakfast and go here instead. Fantastic menu, creative creations, super attentive service in a nice airy location with pot plants and succulents. 5 stars! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
L. S.
Fantastic service
Best scrambled eggs ever eaten
A. J.
Stumbled across this place... a lucky find... Super friendly service, and a whimsical menu backed up by some very delicious food. Some Indian flavour influences to spice it up a bit, and I was a massive fan of the "Auber-jean is not my lover". I nearly turned that name into a lie.
M. F.
Food is varied and delicious, staff are impeccable and the coffee is excellent. Hard to pick a stand out when they are all so good.
Booking is absolutely essential because the place is a matchbox.
L. S.
Absolutely delicious and fantastic service...such friendly staff
E. B.
This place is a consistent fave for locals and visitors and one visit is enough to show why. The service is especially good, your enjoyment clearly matters to the staff. The ambience is bubbly and busy and the food very good. The menu is good. I had a variation of Eggs Benedict, hot, tasty and pleasing, above average in every way. The bacon included was hot and perfectly cooked, the croquettes crunchy and textured, and all so flavoursome. In a party of 12+ not one grumble was heard. Their big brekky included seriously good pork and fennel sausages but for Freo folk it’s down to the coffee, the coffee was excellent! I left with some coconut almond cake for afternoon tea, it looked so good I just couldn’t resist. What a range of treats. Nothing pedestrian about DDB!
The day was wild and wet, the street outside being shredded and semi blocked by huge roadworks and still Duck Duck Bruce was full and hopping. Enough said.
S. S.
Nice venue, nice staff... gotta say, very odd food
S. T.
Definitely best breakfast we've had in freo so far.. Fab selection on the menu and made from quality ingredients. Great balance of flavours. Good coffee. Generous servings. Great staff. Baby friendly. Fab atmosphere and decor. We'll be back :)
T. N.
Menu is lovely. And of course delicious. I'd love to visit again!!!
C.
Came here for my partners 51st birthday breakfast. Friendly service and great food. Partner was sad he couldn't buy the relish in a jar, it was that good.
S. M.
Amazing little cafe that’s super cute with such nice, healthy food and a lot of options! Not the cheapest but worth every penny!
L. I. P.
Outdoor heaters and cosy quiet comfy seating. The waitress was really knowledgeble, funny, honest and advices you well if you don't know what to have for breakfast. Hands down the best breakfast of 2020 for me and I'm a big eater. I had the "Jean" which is a big serving of Sri Lankan inspired flavours and heaps of other warm items that does not leave you bloated, but rather nutritious and complete. It will see me well past lunch. And it does not rely on bread as a filler, so well done to the chef on creating this epic meal!
T. D.
Good food though order a bit mixed up.
S. L.
Incredibly friendly service, quick to help us with a bit of a tricky order! Coffee was good. Didn't eat anything, personally, but it all looked amazing.
U. K.
Brought some friends there and since then they have become fans. Really enjoy their pancakes so much, for that kind of standard it should be very famous, so worth a shot at franchising it. Atmosphere is great too.
S. M.
I love this place! They're food is heavenly - my fave is the roti with eggplant! But they've got such a good variety to suit all tastebuds! The decor is cute and the staff are great! They're very popular though so sometimes you might be waiting for a table... For a while. Worth it though!
A. O.
Beautiful food and coffee for the right price. Very interesting fusion of Indian (?) flavours throughout the menu. Great selection of cold and warm beverages for both the kids and adults! Love the play on words used in the menu. Very helpful and enthusiastic staff!
Cosy and quiet setting -- great for meetings or just a quiet breakfast or brunch alone :)
Ample multi-storey car park across the road. Walking distance to cappuccino strip and Fremantle markets.
A. S.
We visited Duck Duck Bruce during a recent holiday to Fremantle. The food was amazing and so was the service. We highly recommend the lamb. Succulent, accompanied by the most delicious sauce EVER! We left with our hunger satisfied and a desperate need to eat there again. Next time we're in Freo, it's the first place we're going.
B. F.
Travelled half a year and can definitely say that this was the best breakfast we had. The place is super friendly and service is great. Credits to the chef and the people who create the meals. "Little piggy went to market" and "It's not easy being green" totally rock.
d. c.
Just had breakfast there. Didnt need to wait too long, and the "Piggy went to market" burger is divine. Friendly service too
L. M.
Loved this cafe! Fantastic tasty food! Quick service with a smile, and patient and polite. I loved this place. Also have yummy Gluten free dishes. Grand kids also loved it!!
G.
Service was great, food and coffee on point. #skrtskrt
k. D.
Very enjoyable lunch great service
R. D.
A great cafe. The friendliest staff, the nicest food and awsome atmosphere. Cant reccomend this place enough
S. D.
Visited around 10am. Great coffee, beautiful (and interesting) food and wonderful service all come together with a lovely decor and delightful outdoor area.
I won’t deduct any points for it, but the toilets could be improved - like mop the floor and clean the walls...
L. G.
"this little piggy went to market" ($21), fried potatoes (not your usual chips) and the "dating game" with chorizo on top ($24) were delicious. The service was great.
A good place for a "foodie" if the view from the window is not important.
S. L.
Absolutely amazing coffee thanks to their wonderful beans! Defiantly worth grabbing a bag for home
Beautiful setting with garden dining area, great menu with plenty of interesting and delicious meals.
M. T. (.
Food was ok but the place is way too hipster. They try to cram as many different things into each plate as possible and it was hard to see what they were aiming to achieve. Sometimes there is something to be said for a simple bacon sandwich or scrambled eggs on toast.
C. C.
The best breakfast Cafe in FREO! Great service, nice ambience and most of all different choices of food. 🥰
K. H.
How many times can you say "Oh My Gosh" before it loses its touch? NEVER? What a pleasant find for me. Was looking for a bakery and found this. Amazing table service, beautiful quaint (and busy at 720am) and outstanding food. I had the orange pancakes. While I don't like anything orangey per day this was AMAZINZZZZZ.
L. B.
Had an amazing brunch at Duck Duck Bruce! The vanilla pancakes (Orange is The New Stack) and the hash browns with poached eggs (We're All Going on a Summer Hollandaise) were a 10/10. Coffee was pretty damn good too. Also, do yourself a favour and grab a brownie on your way out, possibly the best brownie I've ever had.
A word of warning, the place gets pretty busy!
P. M.
Delicious food, nice atmosphere and good music!
Sarah the waitress was very friendly and has done an amazing job!
Will definitely have breakfast here again :-)
J. H.
*ONE OF PERTH'S BEST SPOTS*
The thing I really love about this place is the food, globally sourced recipes refined into a WA breakfast extravaganza! It is coupled so well with amazing service, the English guy who seems to run the front of house is stand out. Our second visit from NOR and it will be a dead cert for visiting friends and family when we find ourselves in Freo.
Y. W.
Had brunch with a friend and all the menu items were so delicious it took a while to choose! Got the piggy and boat items and was very full afterwards. Drinks were average but the food was delicious and layout was lovely!
S. G.
The food is incredible (5/5) but the wait was very long and it is not air conditioned. We got the tower of power and orange and lemon poppy seed pancake.
P. J.
Great service and coffee as always.
R. A.
Visited twice now and both time the food and service were amazing
B. G.
Cannot fault it, not that I would want to. Get there early for brekky. Service friendly, non-intrusive and timely. Menu is very unique, very hard to choose what you want. We went for the avo and the auber-Jean. Both absolutely incredible, so nicely presented a d well thought out an put together. One of the best breakfasts to date. Coffee also above standard. The best bit is the price...all of the above for very reasonable prices. Thanks guys.
A. H.
Friendly, happy service and great food. And an interesting, quirky venue. This place lives up to its excellent reputation.
P. S.
Fantastic service, friendly staff, coffee and breaky was delicious 😋
B. D.
This place is one of the best cafes I've ever been to, the food is creative and delicious. We had an amazing breakfast and the staff were lovely. Coffee was on point too.
S. P.
Could only get a takeaway coffee, was too busy, but it was smooth as silk not bitter and a crema to die for! Keep up the good work guys!
P. M.
Emoji with hearts as eyes!
C. S.
Decent coffee and breakfast.

It is a great restaurant..and the smiles say it all. Bottom - restaurant was closed on 26.12.19 and today 6.01.20 it was open! This is a must venue for anyone who comes to Perth - well worth the drive into Fremantle..

Excellent food, great coffee and friendly staff. Service was prompt but did not feel rushed. If you want something different from the normal breakfast/brunch, it's the place to go.
A. B.
Went there for breakfast with family and was very happy with the eclectic food (just had to give it a try) not disappointed. Staff quick and friendly with good coffee. Hard to get a seat here as it is popular but worth everybit.
C. C.
Food flavour & presentation top notch! coffee was awesome, five senses compton road blend. Only negative .. well constructive criticism really... is that only 1 blend avail and i prefer a darker blend (dark horse) and wait staff couldve sold me another one -if they had asked. But fantastic quality of food/ coffee/decor/staff still deserves 4 stars :) well done -def a new local fave!

If you're looking for one of the hottest spots in Freo, you've come to the right spot. The food, coffee and hospitality are all second to none. I'd recommend booking if you want to stop for weekend brunch.
J. T.
If you want a cafe in Freo that epitomizes the area, this is it. The vibe here is relaxed, the actual building itself is very cool and to top it off the food's great (names on menus are worth a read in itself). Really good coffee here too.
J. C.
Friendly staff, quick service and what a cool name!!!! Lots of variety here too :)
S. W.
Just finished breakfast at Duck Duck Bruce, and the whole thing was great. Coffee was nice, I had the little piggy burger which was .... just yummy, and my wife had the summer hollandaise with Salmon which looked stunning and she said was wonderful.
Last word - I wanted to lick the plate clean. Thanks to the crew there.
A.
Amazing quality and very generous serving size!
B. A.
Duck Duck Bruce is a standout. We sat around a large table for breakfast and everyone loved what they ordered. Coffees were spot on, and the service was happy and accommodating. As a Freo local, I will be coming back asap.
H. C.
Prompt and friendly service with a smile. Short wait considering how busy it was. Tasty and well-sized breakfast portion.
K. B.
Beautiful food, the only way to describe it is "A Party on a Plate"!
K. H.
Service was fantastic, great cohesive team made severing seamless. Food was fantastic. Had to wait to get in, but well worth the wait. Highly recommend this quirky little place in Collie Street Freo.
D. R.
Great spot for brekky or brunch in Freo.
Some of the best coffee and chai going around.
The hot mess and the it's not easy being green are a couple of our favourites and never disappoint.
The service here is well above average and you get service really quickly even when its busy. Really friendly staff make it a good spot to make a regular appearance.

Absolutely Recommend this niche cafe!
The setting is relaxed and comfy, the staff are bubbly and share refreshing smiles, and the chef is world class. I highly recommend the pancakes, hands down the best I have had so far. 10/10.
K. P.
Beautiful place with an amazing menu backed up by competent staff.
I have tried both the breakfast roll and the orange & poppyseed pancakes both being sensational. Great coffee to make this one of the best places to go in freo.
s. D.
AMAZING. Food was out of this world, chai tea was one of the best I've had in Perth, the menu was so interesting, and the cakes were great. It was so good I went back twice in the same day. One of my new favourites
S. E.
A top quality, delicious breakfast, excellent coffee and friendly table service. Will definitely return.
J. H.
Gets better each time we go. So friendly and great food and coffee. Beautiful little cottage with courtyard makes for a cosy and welcoming ambience. Plenty of newspapers and definately some of the best chai in Freo. No syrupy squirt from the bottle here! Oh, and the smoothies have a wonderful sliver of dried fruit to top them off,or maybe that was the spiders.....at any rate, a very specially delicious touch. Can't rate this place highly enough!!
D.
Alright, I'm super-picky when it comes to breakfasts, but I've got to say this place has the best breakfasts - on the planet.
6 stars.
A. B.
What a fab little spot we stumbled upon today. Lovely coffee. Exceptional service and the food was so flavorful. Family friendly as well.
F. W.
Good coffee, good food and good service.
E. S.
Out of control breakfast. Solid yums. Would recommend 👌👌👌
W. H. F.
A relaxing and cosy place for a cup of coffee and breakfast. I enjoyed my short time there very much!
J. G.
Ordered the Hot Mess with Avo: Best Scrambled Eggs I've EVER had!! The mixture of flavours were unreal!
K. C.
My wife had the "Not easy being green" smashed avocado dish with salmon which apart from being delicious, had a generous serving of avocado. I had the the "This little piggy went to market" burger, which was also delicious. Both of us had a Long Mac coffee, which were done well, and a lot of coffee places can't say that.
A. B.
I visited Duck Duck Bruce for the first time last week after living in Freo for months and I’m annoyed I hadn’t been sooner. I got the breakfast with aubergine and I am in love. I can’t wait until the next time I go!
E. J.
By far my favourite cafe in all of Perth and Freo. The bacon jam is second to none, the vibe is awesome thanks to the genuinely happy staff, the menu hits the spot every time, and they love dogs as much as they love their customers. What more could you ask for? Such a fan that we named our ducks after them 😂
N. P.
We had a lovely brunch, a couple of vegan options and the staff where really helpful and respectful. Can't wait to return.
p. h.
A place where customers are treated like friends rather than as a number. Great food and a wonderful breakfast selection. The barristers know their job & produce great coffee. Say hi to Mark the barrister if he is there.
R.
This is my go to cafe! The food is always delicious and the service is friendly and attentive. The gorgeous cottage that it’s in is a lovely bonus to an already amazing place!
I. K.
A great place, staff are attentive, courteous and chatty. The food is well prepared and very tasty. Coffee is the right temperature which improves its flavour.
E. K.
Delicious food and coffee! I would highly recommend. I loved the names of the dishes and how friendly the staff were. Thank you!
j. t.
Well I loved it. Kids and husband on fence. Inspired menu.
J.
Excellent! Def give the ‘Hot Mess’ a try!
B. S.
Prrobably the best Freo breakfast place. Spent 2 weeks in Fremantle for work and this was the staple place to come to every day. Tried almost everything on the menu and nothing disappointed . Coffee is awesome!!
J. T.
Birthday brunch for 10 people, service was absolutely fantastic and the food was again delicious. Thanks to the staff for being so helpful and friendly. We will be back.
T. M.
Both my coffee and burger were amazing. Really nice atmosphere so I'll definitely be going back
R. W.
The owners and staff go out of their way to be accomodating. The food is consistently good, the setting is beautiful and it's dog-friendly. What is there not to love?!
E. D.
Not a bad thing to say about this Cafe. Great food, coffee and atmosphere. Friendly staff in a relaxed setting. Accommodating to restrictive diet, loved it!
B. L.
If I could give 6 stars I would. Went for breakfast on Saturday and came back on Sunday because the food was so good. Super friendly staff and great atmosphere
j. s.
Many visits now, don't bother with anywhere else in Freo now. Fantastic service (who'd have thought in WA). Fab coffee and interesting food. Not to mention, they get scrambled eggs right!
M. W.
Awesome! Great food menu, solid twists and ampflications of traditional breakfasts. Coffee was spot on, service was solid and the venue itself is lovely!
J. L.

M. T.
Great food, coffee and service. Good amount of space and nice relaxed atmosphere.
J. S.
Friendly service. Good menu. But food service was slow and my food was a little on the cold side. Busy so you need to book for weekend brunch.
R. S.
Ordered a late breakfast from a funky menu promising all sorts of edible delights. Outdoor seating and great coffee add to the whole ambiance.
J. L.
Amazing gluten free and vegetarian / vegan options. Interesting dishes available all day. Particularly, a big step above what's normally available for breakfast.
G. C.
Best coffee in Freemantle!
Converted house, great vibe.

Tiny tiny coffees but good

This has always been one of my favorite places..had a bump in the road the other day tho.. waitress cleared my plate away whilst I was still eating from it without a word to me .. when I spoke to the owner about it she offered me another piece of toast ?? After we had all finished...strange response 🤔🤔
A. D.

Food was excellent and the staff friendly, though we waited for a very long time for food, despite the restaurant being only half full. I like their casual atmosphere and the food was good.
B. B.
Only one of my favorite places in Perth! I have yet to eat a meal there and not be wholly impressed by it. I don't believe it will ever happen 😋 Thank you wonderful people!
J. T.
Nice place, nice atmosphere, the food was prompt and well made. However, if you are looking for a succulent duck meal there is none on the menu, contrary to the restaurant's name.
B. J.
The staff are so happy and fun. The food is incredible. My chai latte was amazing. Love the atmosphere. 5 stars
M. G.

For me the highlight of Fremantle. Delicious food with real love and care put into each dish. Highly recommend the mango lassi. If I come back to Perth I will be returning here!!
C. M.
Great Indian take on lunch food. Portions are a reasonable size but small enough that you can justify over ordering.
R. S.
Super friendly staff. Fantastic puns on the menu, with taste to match. Will definitely be coming back. One great looking vegan option.
J. S. (.

Great breakfast, great coffee, but be prepared to read the menus twice to figure out what their quirky titles really mean! "Oh so that's an eggs Benedict?"
