The local ‘not so secret’ Pay As U Wish cafe in CBD on a Friday serving up Malaysian buffet has been a favourite for a long time.
Unsurprisingly, the place can get filled up very quickly so a good tip to start early.
Ikhwan Cafe serves up delicious Malaysian & Indonesia fare, and the special spaghetti bolognese last Friday was the first I have seen.
The buffet comes complete with drinks and desserts too, so it is highly recommended to try it at least once on a Friday, and to pay as your heart & tummy dictates. My colleagues and I have paid between $10-20 per person, and it’s truly to each their own.
May they continue with this offering to satisfy our craving.

One of the best places I have dined in. Their food is delicious , people are friendly and portions for the value is crazy. I have not seen such friendly service for a while. Always a go to place. A gem in disguise.

Lunch at Ikhwan Cafe for their famous 'eat all you can and pay as you wish'. I was really impressed by the quality and quantity of food they provided. Beef rendang and sambal egg plant were my favourite. They even have roti made and cooked freshly right in front of you. All the dishes were tasty and flavoursome.

I've gone twice on a Friday for the pay as you feel buffet. The food is really tasty but it is a very flustering experience as space is limited so you are crammed up with a bunch of people. I'd recommend going at lunch on Fridays as at night there tends to be much less available.

Good place for lunch. I always comeback to enjoy their famous beef rendang. You can mixed whatever you want on your plate! Cost only $10 for 3 dishes in 1 plate. So it won't hurt your pocket.

Pay What You Want Friday AND tasty food? What's not to love!! Great authentic recipes for the dishes and close to perfect Malaysian flavours. Would definitely be back to try out the normal menu.

Searched for Malaysian food when I was in Perth and found this place on Google.
I must say the food is super good! They are very friendly as well!
Thank you for the good Malaysian food!

Pay as you wish Fridays for those in need. food is authentic Malaysian food if you fancy Malay dishes. Definitely worth supporting the group.

Coming from Singapore, I admit that I have eaten better nasi lemak. However, given how rare this dish is in Perth (or Western Australia for that matter), it was pretty decent. Could do with more cucumber and a larger piece of egg plus a more lemak nasi, but it definitely hit the spot for a decent price. The teh tarik was a great post-lunch treat, though!

Awesome food and atmosphere. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. Eat how much you want and pay as the heart feels every Friday, what a lovely campaign. God bless you guys

Excellent authentic Malay cuisine, best sambal in Perth.

I had this ordered to my house thanks to their FB post. I had roti cheese that came with dhall (fantastic, greasy but that's the cheese being heated, huge portion seriously yum, dhall ok ok). I also had 3 nasi lemak bungkus that came in containers, seriously yummy, with one fried egg (yolk just cooked perfect), sambal was sweet but spicy not deadly spicy though but I couldn't have eaten any spicier, they even added one piece of fried chicken in a separate bag, unsure why but yup. Lastly I had their nasi goreng, this was nice but boring, I expected sambal cooked into it or something so I just made up some sambal and ate with it, perfecto. The chicken and veges in the nasi goreng was spot on. All this cost me $31 including free delivery. Extremely cheap and tasty, will be back, happy to pay $5 for delivery too once the free delivery promo is over, thank you. 😊

Best satay in town. We are having a family satay party tonight. If you have tried, you will definitely come back for more. Staff are super friendly, feel at home.

I went here on a Friday evening with my family. Food is outstanding - right and optimal flavour for my Indian taste buds. Cant complain dessert and drink options were only four (ha!) , as I was full already with the mains. Wish the place was bigger to move through the crowd. Someday, Insha Allah .
Each and every one of the staff was so friendly and helpful, including the young fellows at the door. Good luck.

Lovely people and great food. I am a convert! This restaurant is not to be missed. It is not silver service but just a warm welcoming place with awesome food. To get a meal of authentic cuisine for under $10, I'm hooked. Keep up the great work.

My family was there on Saturday night, delicious and authentic Malay foods, friendly staff and very agreeable prices. Best lamb satay in town.

Tiny Malaysian cafe serving great food. I came mid afternoon on Friday for a late lunch. All you can eat buffet and pay from the heart . Hardest thing was deciding how much to pay. Definitely worth keeping in the memory bank for future.

So far so good, had the Nasi Lemak and roti telur, with a kopi tarik to wash it all down. Prices are decent and portions are not small. Will try the Mee goreng next too.

The cafe serves Halal Food. It is convenient as it is situated right across the Hotel Season's of Perth, where we stayed.
The service was quick and the staffs are friendly and accomodating. Food is similar to home-cooked and are delicious.
Once, I had a late drinks there and they gave cornish for free to go with the drinks.

Came here to try their Roti Paratha Plain and Roti Telur as well as Teh Tarik. There’s no doubt that both roti were crispy on outside especially the Roti Pratha Plain, Roti Telur wasn’t as crispy as the plain roti paratha due to the addition of egg, but the texture was nice enough. Both Rotis were served with Dhal Curry and Sambal, that’s the first time I actually fell in love with the Sambal as I personally couldn’t really handle spicy food, but, this Sambal has definitely caught my attention. You could taste the spices and sweetness in the Sambal. I love how the Rotis were freshly made (like literally made with the traditional way - through flipping the dough, etc.) once you’ve placed an order. Teh Tarik was on the weaker side, you could see the foam but I reckon it’s more suitable for people who prefer their drink to be less strong in taste.

2 meat 1 vege combo for $11 decent size portions. Nice friendly service. Teh Tarik had bubbles/froth on top but slightly weak in taste. Rendang was good but sweeter than usual. Not bad lah :)
Z. Z.
Very tasty meals for reasonable prices. Awsome dish varieties which suits for all age groups. Also the taste makes you want to visit again. I loved and enjoyed every bit of the food

One of my regular lunch places.. very friendly staff and they make some really delicious meals.. my fav is chilli eggplant and sweet sour fish.. value for money and make you remember home made meals.. Very highly recommended
Y. L.
Friendly staff with good manners. Fresh food with a lot of variety. PAYWD on Friday is a great deal. Thank u
D. “.
Good food needed more fish and not anchovies but actually fish other than that it was nice food
S.
Reasonable rates and very courteous staff. Friday offer " Eat and pray as you can " is a good initiative to help. Suggest : Eat little and pay more, it could help the owners keep up the initiative.
T. L. W. W.
The most value for money cafe/restaurant in Perth. Come one and all during Friday s and have your fill of the Malaysian style dining
D. T.
It depends on the server of the moment, whether you get a decent quantity plate of tasty food or not.
Fridays are popular with Pay as you Like!
