Not until I handed an absolutely absurd amount ($9) to join the pantheon of the gods via eating at toastface grillah. I, having now an infinite amount of thyme and power, can look forward to a request from professor Xavier to join the X-Men and some swag toastface dog tags to represent my allegiance. Well i finally got the family here to taste the highly raved about Toastface Grillah, this was an amazing experience the crusty bread,herbs and different fillings to be honest I was a little off put by the prices $39 for a family of 4 but 4 toasties and 2 coffee, but the flavours made up for it... if your looking for an amazing snack in the city this is the place but if your looking for a meal I'd advise ordering two toastys.... I hope they also get rid of the sweet smell of urine that occasionally wafts through. 5 stars from me as the service food and coffee needs to be on the bucket list

Absolutely love the vibe here! Very chilled and relaxed. Some great music and it's set up so nice! I love a good alley restaurant. I ordered the ol' faithful, and it was amazing! The staff were super friendly and lovely to deal with. I wasn't prepared for what I wanted though, as I think their online menu is different to the one they had there, but it was no big deal. Let’s imagine you want a grilled cheese sandwich. Where will you go? Here! The bread is impeccably grilled and has just the right amount of (melted) butter, the cheese is melted to perfection, and the fillings are well picked. Service is friendly and diligent. So why 4 rather than 5 stars? Well, it’s not impeccably clean. There’s an old chewing gum drying off on one table. Pigeons are feeding themselves from the mess splattered around the floor. Still worth it though.

If you are a toast maniac you certainly must come here for some awesome toast. Even if you are not a toast maniac you still have to come here. It's not just the wide variety of toast that you can find, but its about how much space you have to catch them all (Pokemon cliche). Every toast itself is done well and I could barley find any fault with the 6 toast that I ordered. The only problem was the lack of space to have anymore. Pair the toast with dark roast coffee and you'll feel like in cloud nine. I love the artwork that is found on the alleyway as you walk towards this place.

Mind you I’m a pretty harsh critic of the old toasted sandwich after eating a few in my time I feel I have become a connoisseur of the melted cheese and bread combination. You see the cheese needs to be to the edge of the bread in all quadrants of the sandwich no gaps or dry toast. Look I could of gone an 8/10 But I know I will be back and eat another one and am certain an 8, 9 possibly even the perfect 10/10 toasted sandwich score could,,, and I say could with a lot of confidence ,,,, be achieved if not on the next visit than perhaps the one after that.. That’s one of the things that keep you coming back, the food is good but you know an imminent perfect toastie is coming. All of in all a boiling pot of cultural diversity hungering and salivating whilst circling the barista eying off each coffee hoping just hoping that the next one is theirs. Toastface Grillah popped up on my google maps as a nearby point of interest, and with a name like that, who could walk past? Swung by this morning for a coffee and toastie, in the grungy but atmospheric laneway. Tucked away amidst the graffiti artwork, there it was with a crowd of people even at 7 am, a good sign in any book. Easy and friendly ordering, the simple menu plays to the name and sticks to the strengths - and what strengths they are! Cracking coffee, but the real winner are the toasties. I wolfed down an 'Ol' Faithful' - Ham, Cheese and Pickle Relish grilled to perfection with a rosemary butter of some sort, and had to walk away before I punished my waistline with another two. Highly recommended!
