A Hidden Surprise on Kent Street!, tucked away on Kent Street is this Lovely Italian Café, with Amazing Staff and cooks who were afraid to have a quick Chat and listen as we paid up the bill, or the Amazing Food! we stopped for Breakfast and a Coffee on a Whim and Couldn't be more surprised by our choice! The Food Options were reasonably priced with excellent quality and Generous portions, the Mushrooms were our Particular favourite, that and the Coffee which was Beyond anything I thought I could find outside my Italian family's Coffee Collection! the Cook and staff were very personable and came out to chat and explain menu items. This Place is a Must Visit Gem On Kent Street for anyone looking for Good Coffee and Delicious Meal at Affordable prices for a Wonderful Start to any day!

Top Italian restaurant within striking distance of the Darling Harbour precinct. Limited but tempting menu but it's only a small place with only 2 people on the team!! Lovely tasty fresh food made with a minimum of fuss and quickly!! All your favourite Italian dishes, gluten free Pasta available too. Take away as well as eat in. Great range of wine as well - look it up and check it out.

What a lovely little resturant on Kent st. Perfect home cooked Italian food. The pastas are to die for and the couple running it are great and extremely friendly. The portion sizes are very generous. We found the prices to be on the cheap side considering we are in the city. It's an all round great place.

This must be the best Italian restaurant in the city. Family owned and run restaurant. The food and service was as good as it gets. Even the decor is charming, from the photos on the wall taken by the owners to the coffee cup lights. Italian food cooked by real a real Italian, what else could you want? How about topping it off with some dessert and home made limoncello with a twist, "almost as good as dad's."

True hidden gem in the heart of CBD. I was firstly fooled by its appearance and thought it was a normal coffee and take-away. Spent the first dinner there and the food was truly amazing, I've been back regularly since, sometimes just to pick up some nice beers or bottles. I love this place. Such a hidden gem. Steve and Tania are the warmest and most passionate hosts and make the best authentic pasta and desserts around town. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable and the touch of housemade limoncello to finish off your meal is such a lovely touch.

Buenissimo! This Italian restaurant can not disappoint. The garlic bread was a good appetizer, the pasta were excellent, the lemon cheesecake was delicious, and the creamy limoncello at the end was the cherry on the cake! Everything is homemade. Came across this lovely little restaurant while visiting Sydney and stopped in off the street for dinner with my husband. This was some of the best Italian food I've had! We both ordered off the specials menu and it was delicious. The owners were amazingly friendly and we felt like family who had dropped in for a meal. At the end of the meal one of the owners came over personally to offer us house made limoncello and talk with us for awhile. It's been approximately a year since our visit but this little gem still stands out in my mind and I'll make it a point to return if I ever have the opportunity to visit Sydney again.

We went to breakfast at an Italian restaurant next door to our accommodation. We were immediately pleased with the atmosphere of the place, and seated ourselves at a table toward the front of the venue. We were mildly dismayed when the owners opened the door and windows wide to the busy street outside, admitting the roar of traffic. Fortunately it also let in an agreeable breeze which, in conjunction with the service and atmosphere, still managed to tip the scales toward favorable. I ordered a cappuccino along with a ham and cheese croissant, and both were so outstanding that the din of the street was forgotten entirely. I also noticed that the small tables along the wall were made from oversized, rounded cutting boards with the handle and strings still attached, and the lights in the ceiling were overturned tea cups on saucers, which was an artful touch and lent the place its unique character. We returned the following morning and shared the last chocolate croissant they had left, which was still fresh and flakey. We were joined this morning by two others who were compelled to try the cappuccinos for themselves despite not being big coffee drinkers, and were not disappointed. The staff were warm and friendly, and we agreed that the venue was far and away the best thing about our present accommodation and stay.

I was in Sydney for 2 nights and had dinner here for both of those nights. The first night was the Linguine alla bolognese. Absolutely delicious. The second night was the Pollo alla valdostana, which was the first time I've eaten that, and was even more delicious! All the staff were unfailingly friendly and accommodating. Often, staff can give off strong vibes that suggest they'd rather be anywhere else, but not there. It was clear they were happy to be there. I don't know when I'll be back in Sydney again, but you can be sure I'll be eating there when I am!

I used to go to Cafe Amici every single day (as I lived very close by). Unfortunately due to moving away I wasn't able to come back to this cafe. Tonight, I went in and the owner remembered me straight away and welcomed me in with open arms. They do the best job of making everybody feel like family. Most importantly, the service is still amazing, the food is still amazing and I am so glad that this is still the case. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all amazing here. This is. The best. What ever you choose to eat don’t forget to order the tiramisu dessert and coffee - the first good coffee I tasted in Sydney. I’ve passed this place so many times without even blinking an eye. It’s almost like platform 9 3/4 except that it’s staring right at you but you’d still miss it. This is a place where quality of food and service takes precedence over aesthetics of decor and other frills. It’s a simple family run restaurant. Generous portions, good quality and fantastic service. One of the best garlic breads I’ve had in Sydney.

For those of us that can no longer eat gluten, this little gem of a restaurant is a must stop. Not that the menu screams gluten free, it’s the amazing staff that crafts your meal from scratch that makes this place special. Due to this, they were able to make me the Chicken Scaloppine without lightly breading the chicken. Our wonderful waitress said they had a great gluten free pasta, but I was too full to try another bite. Looking forward to next time.

Very Italian atmosphere and absolutely delicious food. Pasta ala carbonara was as creamy and yummy as you can imagine. Portion was huge, but impossible not to eat it all. Pizza ai salumi was still perfect the next day. What we didn't see coming was surprisingly soft and crispy garlic bread: an appetizer you could eat all day. Very friendly service and good choice of wines. Strongly recommended for anyone looking for a Italian delight in Sydney. Be sure to arrive hungry enough not to miss any of the yumminesses. Visited for the first time and had the nicest pesto pasta in my life, which is made in house every day. I've had plenty of Italian before but the food served here, not to mention with a wide smile by the family, is drool worthy. I also had the quattro formaggio pizza which was also noteworthy. Must visit, at least for a try, in case you have Italian food on your mind. You will not be disappointed.

Wow! I would never have thought to go into Caffe Amici for a great Italian meal; I always assumed they were a cafe serving sandwiches. My brother took me for lunch one day and I think it is the best Italian meal I have had in the CBD. The owner waited all the tables himself and you can see his passion for food and his business. Always go for whatever is on the specials board and you won't be disappointed. I had the chicken and the white sauce on it was the tastiest white sauce I have ever had. They currently are not open for dinner but a great option for a mid week lunch.

The owner is the reason why the food is great! He treats his customers with passion and hospitality like a long lost friend. Tried the linguine with Amatriciana, Pineapple Muffin and Tiramisu. Amatriciana is flavourful and just raise your palate with the myriad of wine, spices and onion/tomatoes sweetness. Muffin is crusty on the outside and soft on the inside! Tiramisu is quite subtle though. Was treated to a shot of Molise to end the meal with. Wonderful!!!

Hade the Penne Ratatouille and my god was it delicious!! I have been to Italy and ate a lot of pasta there, but let me tell you this, the pasta at Caffe Amici was so authentic and yummy that I would argue the Penne Ratatouille is the best pasta I have ever had in my life!
