Comments of Fika Swedish Kitchen
J. U.
A delightful Swedish cafe with good vibes. The food was absolutely delicious and they also sold a neat range of Swedish snacks. The best way I cam describe it is like a much fancier, trendy Ikea Cafeteria. We had the "Salmon Lover" and the "Silly Susan", both were amazing with fantastic flavour profiles and great presentation.
T. H. M.
The whole family loved their breakfasts here! Traditional pastries are warm and generously sized, the gravalax is full of flavour, and poached eggs are perfectly cooked. The vegan fritter plate is colourful and creative, and coffees good. Looking forward to a return visit.
M. K.
Nice Swedish cafe in Manly.
Beautiful yellow color is outstanding, so you can find this nice place easily!
S. J.
So bloody delicious. Flavours perfectly complement each other. Filling. I truly feel like I got my money's worth. Mood is calm. My favourite cafe in outer Sydney. 💙
Hot chocolate too sweet.
Edit: paid $16 for a bacon and egg roll. Bun burnt, fried egg overcooked, bacon either burnt or raw but smothered in oil. Literally nothing enjoyable about this roll. And it took 30 minutes to make. I don't think I will return.
P. S.
Nice place with great service, simple but delicious food, awesome coffee in fancy cups. Waiting time was a bit long but still fine 👍
S. M.
Finally visited the OG. Tucked away off the main drag. We shared the Skagen Prawns and Peter Pan hash. Tasty, filling and delicate. We also had the mulled wine.. it's served piping hot and best to let it cool down a bit.
R. N.
Had their famous Toast Skagen for the first time and absolutely enjoyed it. What a gastronomic delight with delicious flavours bursting in my mouth with every bite. I had their Semla bun also and it was good. The cardamom bun was so light and the Almond paste and cream gave a special touch to it. Recommendable! The staff are all friendly and place was good.
S. S.
Great little cafe in the heart of Manly, we went on a busy Saturday morning. we only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. We took the recommended dish from the wait staff.
Beautiful Scandinavian food at a reasonable price point. Dog friendly outside.
S. M.
In Manly beach for my snorkel adventure and in need of breakfast. I found this gem through a website of best eats in Manly Beach and I couldn’t argue anymore. I tried their popular dish, toast skagen. A generous portion of shrimp on toast, topped with roe. It’s definitely worth the price. I had a mocha cappuccino and requested the donkey latte art. It’s cute and just added my breakfast experience. I tried their Swedish desert, semla bun, which is actually a popular dessert served in the month of February and a second cup of coffee for the hay of it. Who knew tasting a bit of Swedish food in Australia can be a thing.

First Swedish inspired cafe menu I have come across in Sydney. (Not counting IKEA). Food is awesome, looks good and tastes good. Generous portions too. Will definitely be my go to place in Manly.
J. Q.
Delicious, local and sunny vibes, good customer service. Definitely will be back to try other menu items such as the Kalles Kaviar and Swedish Meatballs. Love how their website provides images for each menu item.
Silly Susan - sour cream and herb herring with smashed eggs and radish on Kavring rye bread. The bread was a highlight of the dish, as well as the way in which all the flavours came together in harmony
C. L.
Love Swedish food but the gravad lax was sold out. So waste of a journey. Had the Skagen roll which was not bad but I can make better at home with own peeled school prawns rather than frozen prawns.
E. F.
Great authentic Swedish cafe with healthy Scandinavian inspired dishes. Friendly but busy. Take your time and enjoy!
C. P.
What a delight ! This is the perfect place to unwind and have a delicious Swedish inspired meal and like 30 cinnamon buns. The coffee is excellent and the wait staff are so genuinely friendly it’s refreshing. The meatballs are delicious as is their winter bowl of mixed veggies. You can purchase some delicious, authentic Swedish candy and beverages too, it’s become my weekend go to on the beaches to relax.
L. L. N.
The space is split between a cozy inside section, and an outside area that gets a decent amount of sun.
Ordering can be done via a QR code online menu, or more traditionally via the counter.
The cafe is pretty chill, with nice minimalist (& of course, Swedish) decoration, with lowkey music that doesn't interfere with conversation.
Staff are very friendly and competent.
Dishes are well put together, tasty and nourishing.
A small selection of European/Swedish goods are also for sale.
A. S.
The best coffee this side of the Queen's cliff. Also the most authentic assortment of Swedish breads / buns, both sweet and savoury.
M. E.
First time at this Cafe and was blown away by their service! Have a look out for the 'name of the day' as you may get a free coffee. Lovely place with amazing staff and service was awesome too
G. L.
Came for lunch here. Sat outside in the Manly sun. Great coffee and food options Swedish style. I had the chic chicken dish which was a mix of chicken potato, chickpeas and broccolini ++ all mixed with a delicious curry sauce. A good decent size hearty meal for $20. Other options all looked good. The service is fast and the vibe is friendly. This cafe/restaurant has been around for awhile and it is in a great spot secluded spot just of the main Corso and right outside the front entrance to the Library.
C. A.
If you love Kex or Glögg (alkoholfri) then this is the place for you. I would say that crushed avo on toast or bacon and egg roll are less than authentic Swedish, however, it is nice to have fika when away from home.
a. w.
Food is fantastic. Try the smoked eel omelette or hearing on toast. Nice blend of traditional and modern. Good beers. Martinis are a little less authentic. Bread is highly authentic.
M. C.
Finally tried the Swedan's famous Semla bun ☺️ Campos coffee, you will need to put your name down to get a seat, but definitely coming back
J. V.
At first we weren't very impressed because we wrote our name on the wait list (for 2) and noticed a number of two seater tables available. Waited for about 10 mins and they called a group of 3 (who came after us) and seated them first (mind you the table was for two and they added in a third chair). Anyway, that was minor. When we finally got called to a table inside, we sat there with no menu for nearly 10 mins until we hailed a waitress to get some attention. Running on Manly time.
Besides the initial impression, the food was actually very tasty. The only feedback I would give is the price for the two fish dish, against it's small portion. You can literally eat each nugget of fish in a bite.
Oh, they also have 10% Sunday surcharge. So, be aware.
D. S.
This cafe is a gem in Manly. Very tasty breakfast, perfect coffee an ultimately friendly staff. If you are in the area, consider visiting Fika Swedish Kitchen in the first place - if you do, your day will have a fantastic start. So happy I’ve found my Czech ally Adela and owner Linda, original from Sweden.
A. T.
My wife and I had an enjoyable time at this quaint place. Our 1 year old was put in a comfy high end arm chair. We ordered the meatball sub and meatballs with mash. Full marks for both. There's a selection of swedish craft beers. I picked mutant ninja beer. It was nice. My wife misplaced her opal card and the staff went out of their way to look for it. A great ecperience. I would recommend it to anyone.
M. S.
Nice, small cafe tucked away in a corner of Manly. Quiet and quaint, and it feels like a place I could go back to every week whether by myself or with others.
All their food is simple but top notch!!
Didn't get to try their espresso coffee this time but I jad the cold brew and it's the epitome of a cold brew coffee.
Very kind and attentive staff to top it all off :D
S. C.
Had the smoked salmon and smashed avocado with poached egg on pumpernickel (similar to rye bread) and a chai latte, which were both wonderful. Not a huge portion for $20 but tasted like good quality stuff.
N. C.
Great for Swedish snacks and food. They serve brewed coffee. From time to time they have some Swede specials too. Service is always great and staff is super friendly and I love the location!
k. c.
Nice cafe with very friendly staff. Tried the famous skagen, tasted great. The lemon could've been bigger as it really balanced the taste for me.
A. W.
Such a great place, a little piece of Sweden right in Manly. The staff are so friendly and the food is fantastic, best Swedish meatballs i've ever had, not to mention their authentic pastries, I had a Vaniljbullar that was amazing and their cinnamon buns are fantastic too. :)
L. L.
Ordered the sausage, shrimp toast and the meatballs. Ordered the Apple pie. All delicious. Loved the flavours. Highly recommended.
P. C.
Lovely Swedish cafe in Sydney. Very different and unique in comparison to the rest of the cafes in the area. Great atmosphere, staff are super friendly and service is very quick. Food is great, I'll definitely will go back for sure!
D. B.
Been trying for ages to get a table here, they are always quite busy and well deserved, the coffee and food is great, I had the salmon love, house cured salmon served on a bed of smashed avocado, horseradish cream and pumpernickel bread with a poached egg on top, yum!
D. S.
Great tiny spot with some wait times as it gets busy. Food and presentation is great and staff are friendly but the only downside is the portion is too small. My “Two Fish” came out like a kids meal and I literally ate it in one bite. If it was not $23 it would have been understandable and more like a entree but how would a chef serve that for even breakfast. Maybe the swedish are really into minimalism. All the portion sizes is really small as well so if you are a big eater stay away. The pork berry was alright and the salmon lover was really small as well. Overall If you like small portions and kid sizes then this place is great but if you need something to fill you up stay away.
S. B.
Quite a nice little café in Manly. The food was quite unique and we enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and the ambience was bright and cheerful.
L. Y. L.
Love this cafe! If I stayed closer I'd probably come every week! The skagen and meatballs and mash is a MUST try! Friendly staff too!
G. H.
These guys are the BEST! I have been ordering almost everyday throughout lockdown and now their coffee and brekky is what I look forward to every morning! Their coffees are delicious and always wrapped up thoughtfully to protect from spilling. I've tried multiple menu items now and everything I've ordered has been beyond delicious. Recently I tried their oat cookies which they kindly let me sample and they are to die for. Highly recommend - my go-to cafe in the northern beaches hands down - thank you Fika!
B. S.
I only had a coffee here, it was 👍. I could see from the menu and items behind the barista that they have a variety of awesome Swedish food on offer! Look forward to checking it out next time.
R. T.
First time to have Swedish breakfast, it's a great experience. Beautiful presentation & good combination of taste. Worth trying.
D. K.
Almost 100% loved our experience!!
The herring on GF toast was so tasty and had an amazing texture combo 😍 highly recommend!!!
Only downer was the meal size was a fraction too small.
Coffee is always great here xo
C. P.
The marshmallow in my hot chocolate tasted like a unicorn, and the apple pie looked like one! In addition, I heard from the coffee drinkers at my table that their black coffee came without any bitterness, which the waitress told him was because of their high quality local coffee suppliers, and their fancy scandanavian coffee machine.
R. G.
Here again, again 5 star. Best cured salmon in town. Just love this place.
M. C.
This is a must for all Swedes or Scandophiles living in Sydney. A cosy little café with very friendly service and delicious food that brings you right back to Sweden. Think meatballs, herring, salmon, smoked eel with scrambled eggs, prawn sandwiches, bryggkaffe, Kalles kaviar etc. They also sell some Swedish goods, such as Daim and knäckebröd. The place is on the small side, so sometimes it gets really busy. Perfect location given Manly has the highest concentration of Swedes living in Australia.
B.
Everything about this place is just THE BEST! Food & Service ALWAYS amazing! They make you feel like home It's very relaxing and cozy atmosphere! Looooove it so so so much!
H. D.
Ordered Princess Cake here before soo good and came back for more 😍
Accommodating & Friendy Staff
Tack så mycket!
D. G.
It has been a long time since i enjoyed a breakfast this much... there were quite a few items on the menu which were unique and decided to go for their salmon brunch and it was simply sensational. The flavours worked perfectly and the variety really made it a unique tasting experience.
We also ended up buying some of their pastries as a takeaway snack and they were just as good... what a place
M. C.
Nice fresh Swedish food. Small restaurant but very friendly service. The food is better than at IKEA 😆
A. M.
Fika is a small and quaint little place in Manly that can be easily overlooked but i would strongly advise you give this place a go. The staff are super friendly and accomodating (I have a brother in a wheelchair and they were very vigilant of his needs, etc). The food is of tremendous quality. I especially recommend the prawn skagen. I have not been to Sweden nor have i tried too much Swedish cuisine, but if it's all to the quality/standard of Fika i will be on the first plane when the borders reopen! definitely recommend.
D. S.
Tried the caviar crispy bread, very special and tasty. Great service and atmosphere. Will try main dishes next time.
J. K.
My bacon and egg roll was so good! You will not regret a visit to this place. Amazing food!
D. S.
Love this place but was a bit disappointed. I’ve ordered a fresh orange juice to avoid drinks with added sugar and !surprise! Got a glass of ice with sugar syrup and a tint of orange juice.
M. F.
It's so hard to find semolina porrige in cafes but the Swedish kitchen is one of those rare places that sell it. However, don't expect it to look like Oma's. Instead, you'll be served a delicious work of art.
M. H. (.
Food is very tasty but needs a bit more variety - lots of 'things on bread' here. I absolutely loved a sous vide salmon they did once. Would like more heartier meals to return.
L. O.
I love it because it reminds me of home and the food is absolutely delicious. A bit expensive, but worth it, especially the meatballs!
M. L.
Possibly the best coffee in Manly, excellent range of food and very different from the standard cafe menu.
B. C. T.
Went for lunch on a Sunday so the place was very busy. Wait was short though! Service was quick and the food arrived very promptly. Nice place with a good ambiance. Meatballs were delicious! Very friendly staff. Personalen förstod min dåliga svenska också 😅
J.
Treat yourself to the meatballs! Goes great with some cold press juice. The fish is very fresh as well.
S. N.
Went for the soy mocca that’s more of a dessert for me, wasn’t as sweet as I remember but good anyway, service is fine and food too
D. G.
Soo good.. different styles of food, very refreshing. Friendly staff too!
J. V.
Must try the Swedish meatballs, everything had its place on the plate! Definitely hard to find in Sydney besides IKEA.
G. G.
I absolutely love Fika!
How lucky are we to have this Swedish gem right here in Sydney!? Fika feels like a little slice of home and it's always such a pleasure visiting.
Toast Skagen would have to be one of my favourite dishes ever, and Fika nails it (I used to make the two hour drive just to have it until I moved closer hehe).
I love the filter coffee, and the menu has all the things to make any Swede homesick.
I really appreciate the store too, you can buy such things as Marabou, Daim, Snabb Makaronor, OBoy, PimPim, A big sweet and liquorice selection and so much more! These things are really difficult to come by here in the south end of the world, and i am so grateful they are easily accessible!
Tack tack Fika! And I cannot wait to visit again once lockdown is over.
M. N.
I tried the meatballs on bread with beetroot and radish which was unfortunately not as good as I hoped, it was actually a little dry and plain in flavour. I would go back to try the meatball main dish next time.
T. T.
Breakfast and coffee are excellent.....
Fika continues to be number 1 in Manly.
Why?
* The service is consistently excellent
* The staff always smile, even through covid !!
* The food is healthy and priced right
* The coffee is just right, well balanced
* The location is near the library and away from the road, ideal for families
*Fika encourage the mobile ,coffee loving workers.
Give it a go, it is worth the effort . TT
T.
Had food for takeaway from here and it was absolutely delicious.
I ordered the chocolate cake, the Swedish meatballs and an iced coffee. All were delicious.
Chocolate cake presentation wise (for takeaway at least) looks unappealing but trust me, it’s a rich, creamy, fudgy chocolate cake and the portion is truly enough for two people to share!
The Swedish meatballs is like the highest classed version of ikea’s meatballs- its fresh, tasty, so flavourful and incomparable to any other. It comes with lingonberry jam, pickled cucumbers and the fluffiest mashed potatoes ever.
All components compliment each other very much. I ordered and iced mocha, but they gave me an iced latte instead by accident- which is fine. Coffee still tasted good!
Will 100% come back again! Made my morning!
M. S.
Great Swedish food in a quiet place, a minute away from the crowds.
M. F.
My absolute fav cafe to go with my friends for brunch!
t. c.
Located near Manly library, this Swedish eatery serves delishous fresh dishes, the coffee is top notch as well.
M. S.
Diferent and delicious food. If you like seafood and are looking for a diferent breakie make sure you try the praw on sourdough. Go Sweden!
V. P.
Great Swedish food, a bit on a pricy end for a portion, but manageable. Presentation is very good
B. C.
Excellent! Great place and interesting menu! With vegetarian options!
O. L.
Always welcoming and still great coffee as I have not been there since last year as I live up the coast now
J. M.
Sweden, you have some SERIOUSLY high expectations to meet when I come visit. Had the mushrooms, and a vanilla bun to take home - absolutely delicious. 10/10 for food, coffee, atmosphere and indoor-outdoor flow.
T.
Great breakfast. The eggs were cooked to perfection. Plenty of bacon. The hash brown was amazing and freshly cooked. Great serving of avocado and coffee and juice was great. The staff were helpful and friendly. The cafe is tucked away in a small Lane. The pastries looked amazing but could not fit one in.
B. T.
I enjoyed the Manly Skagen - the prawns were fresh and generous. At $20 however, the price was a steep for what you pay for (1 slice of loaded toast and egg). The customer service wasn't great either. We were confused as to whether you order via the table barcode or at the front. And even if you chose to pay at the front, the service wasn't great. Felt like the chap at the front was too busy with the mates that would come in to greet him.
C.
Coffee and food are pretty good. Staff is most of the time friendly and willing to help; their vegan options are limited, their avo on toast with beetroot relish is pretty good :) you guys should definitely include more vegan options and offer vegan-friendly hot chocolates!
G. H. A. H.
Excellent food and atmosphere! Don't miss out on the swedish salted liquorice
L. W.
Regularly visit for take away coffee that is almost always spot on - sometimes they use Almond Breeze almond milk rather than Milk Lab and that is never ok!!! Recently ate there for the first time and the Manly Toast Skagen was delicious! Always friendly service. Not your usual brekkie menu, which is a nice change 👍🏻
C. S. (. J.
It was clear to me from the second I walked in. This place was special. Swedish ex pats were continuously through the front door and greeted like family. The food is simple, fresh, and nourishing. When I brought up their selective grocery list, they went bonkers for the sweets of their childhood.
This place is wholesome and plain good for the soul. Helps that the coffee is awesome as well.
K. G.
Absolutely love the service and the food served!
G. T.
The best lunch I’ve had in Sydney! Unassuming, casual and of incredible quality.
We had rye bread with salmon and poached egg; egg and herring with dill and pomegranate on toast; and cinnamon buns. Each dish was such a flavour explosion and combines so well, simply amazing. The ingredients and flavour combinations in these dishes are very uncommon in Australia, so it’s definitely worth your while going out of your way to try them at Fika. It reminded me a lot of what you’d typically find in my home town Amsterdam.
Although the dishes seemed a bit small for the price, I actually left feeling satisfied and would, no, WILL, definitely come back to eat here.
Not sure if I’d recommend Fika for coffee, as they only serve Campos.
S.
The food was amazing!!! I definitely wanna go back😍
A. G.
Nice coffees. Good pastries and croissants.
J.
Not great service and disappointing steak presentation with barely any vegetables at all.. But overall good menu and flavours.
B. M.
I hadn't been here or heard of this place before today. The coffee was excellent (fairly strong with great flavour), the sweets were tasty and unique, and the service was absolutely awesome. Tucked away in a quiet side alley with toasty heaters in winter AND blankets, I can definitely see myself coming back here when I'm in Manly again. Why would I spend my Fika break anywhere else? Thanks again.
J. K.
Amazing food, ordered the chia seed pudding and the iced coffee for breakfast. Was so filling, delicious, and nutritious. The cinnamon bun was also good and not too sweet. Salmon avocado toast was also a perfect breakfast.
B. H.
Fika is great. Excellent food, coffee, and service. My favourite dishes are the toast skägen, meatballs, and the chocolate cake whose name I can't spell. It's a tight spot but we've always managed to get a table for brunch.
M. L.
We liked our experience a lot. The coffee was good, the salmon plate was fulfilling and tasty and the safran pastry tasted typical Swedish. Would recommend. Service could be friendlier.
S. N.
Great coffee, great Swedish food and lovely staff. If I could give this place more stars I would. We had cinnamon rolls and elderflower/lingonberry juice here in the afternoon, followed by traditional Swedish breakfast the next day, we couldn't stay away. The owners have really done a great job of bringing a taste Sweden to Manly.
D. S.
Great food - I have tried meatballs and they were delicious. Pancake was also very tasty. Definitely try tea and mocha (girls use Belgian chocolate) - you won't be disappointed!
K. M.
Went there for lunch with a few friends and the service & food was amazing.
I ordered the Greta Salad and it was awesome!
Their attention to detail and also got the balance right between leaving us alone and also attending promptly when needed.
B. K.
I love the open sandwiches here and the coffee. A little taste of Sweden across the world! The pastries were not the freshest and could be more authentic but i recommend lunch and coffee!
K. v. S.
Friendly staff, fast service, food was absolutely delicious, one of the best breakfast I ever had. We tried the Wild bowl and the Manly Toast Skagen. 👏👏👏 Excellent
R. T.
A little piece of Sweden in the center of Manly. A super comfortable and welcoming space. At peak times the cafe bustles with fantastic energy. The food is a wonderful mix of Swedish fare. Perfect for a light meal, with a wonderful rotation of Scandinavian beers (one of the highlights for me!) Wonderful spot to pop into or after a swim, as Manly beach is just a 2 or 3 minute walk away.
A. S.
This is my favourite cafe in Sydney. Fantastic coffee (especially the bottomless Swedish brew) and fresh, scrumptious food with many healthy options. The staff are always so lovely, friendly and provide great service.
J. J.
Very tasty food, but unfortunately a little bit overpriced. I had the herring with egg on rye, which was 17 dollars. They are all quite cheap ingredients that has a long shelf-life. When I make it at home, I don't spend more than 4-5 dollars on the same ingredients, so that makes the markup a bit steep in Fika.
G. R.
Great coffee and fresh, well
presented Swedish style brunch food served with warm friendly manner & smiles😀
白.
Skagen toast is packed with prawns and is really delicious. Chocolate cake is also very good.
R. H.
We spend an afternoon with friends in this trendy Swedish eatery. We really enjoyed the pastries and coffee. The food was tasty, however, the portion sizes were quite small.
R. L.
Delicious, fresh, tasty, Swedish food that is different from the usual Australian café fare. Friendly service. Good coffee too. A busy bustling Sunday morning and people were queuing to get a table.
C. S.
Great place for a coffee and snack. Relaxing but busy, nice atmosphere. Coffee we great also.
J. Z.
Had birthday lunch here and so delicious!!! Will definitely comeback again!!
W. B.
One of the few genuine Swedish food experiences in Sydney. From Swedish meatballs to salmon gravlax the food is atypically Swedish and delicious. The meatballs especially were particularly good. The staff were also super friendly and the general atmosphere is very inviting. Also make sure you try the desserts on offer!
N. P.
Great food great price, try the Swedish specialties.
Semolina porridge is delicious - definitely one to come back for.
Bacon & eggs were great- simple ingredients done well- although the bacon is indeed very crispy as advertised. That said, I'd recommend trying some of the more Swedish dishes (like the porridge), since you can get great bacon & eggs at many other nearby cafes.
Not too busy for 11am on a Sunday, service was very friendly. Total cost (2 dishes + tea and latte) $30 is a bargain.
Looking forward to coming back and trying the Swedish meatballs for lunch.
J. T.
Great coffee as usual. Always a line out the door, but great once you get in. Tried some of the pastries for the first time after admiring them from afar - they were delicious. Friendly staff handling the pressure of a busy cafe environment well.
H. W.
Good, interesting food. Fast, friendly service - although it was a late Thursday lunch so maybe see other reviews for weekends. It's a small space so probably can't be too bad. Nice cosy atmosphere inside, outside seats look nice as well.
K.
A cute little Swedish cafe with delicious food and drinks! The Swedish meatballs here are great!
D. W.
Very nice food and coffee. Just don't go if you're hungry - the serving sizes are very small for the price point.
Average wait time but that's to be expected on a busy Manly weekend. Nice place.
S. Z.
Great prawn toast and chai latte!
J. F.
One of my regular haunts for morning coffee, they also have the best cinnamon rolls in Manly
M. R.
The vanilla bun I had was divine but boy the ice coffee was a let down, hence the 3 star rating. Will return to have dinner sometime soon as it seemed to have a nice feel. Hopefully the rest of the menu will be better.
F. D. M.
Great service and a menu that for once has something original to offer. Really liked the food. I tried a baked pastry take away but it didn't taste very fresh. Should have stayed for the much more tempting desert instead.
W. F. E.
A casual cafe in Manly for a quick bite to eat after a day at the beach. As expected; a little pricey due to the location but it's something a bit different. It was quite hot in there actually so maybe some air con would have made the meal :) But what about the food you ask?
The food was nice but definitely falls in the casual eat zone for lunch. It has a swedish flavour so you will have the choice of a few dishes that are out of the ordinary for a cafe.
Price : about 20-25 per person
P. R.
I take my wife here all the time as it reminds her of Finland.
J. S.
Good coffee, fresh good food, reasonably priced, friendly staff
S. B.
A fantastic small Swedish cafe/restaurant in the middle of Manly. They have a really nice authentic Swedish menu and serve amazing coffee. I would highly recommend dining here if you are seeking something different in Manly.
S. V.
This was one of the best cafes I have been to. It feels like you are a guest in someone's home. You are made to feel really welcome and nothing is too much trouble for the staff.
The food is lovely, very reasonably priced with kitchen open till 4.00, and cafe till 5.00. All day breakfast and some great swedish fare as well as aussie basics. Also swedish deli items to buy. The sun is on outdoor area most of the day. Their coffee and chai are great.
J. W.
I purchased through uber eats. The cured salmon/avo mash was AMAZING. Thank you for a memorable breakfast ill definitely be ordering again.
N. Z.
The Best Swedish Food!
I had the Skagen Avocado with pumpernickel bread for lunch when I was there and Grandma Elly's Apple Pie with Swedish style vanilla sauce. Tasted just like home! My take away cinnamon bun didn't even make it to the ferry. Will be going back very soon!
J. E.
Food is good, but pricey. Coffee ok
P.
I got toast Skagen and a milkshake. Delish 👌 nice, hospitable environment. I'm usually turned off by small seating arrangements but this was comfy and nice. Great meal post surfing! Will go again someday ❤️
S. L.
Food was exceptional but wait was very long (approximately 25 mins) just for takeaway of 2 dishes. If you have the time to wait definitely give it a try!
L. F.
Like being transported straight to the streets of Stockholm (on a beautiful summer’s day). Fantastic food. Incredible team. A favourite spot for locals and a must if you’re visiting Manly!
A. S.
what is not to like. good food, friendly service excellent Swedish beer
C. a.
Hi, cafe Fika, just have to wright to you all, and thank you so much for “your Swedish christmas table”, the food was just devine, and the staff delightful. The only thing I regret is that I didn’t say thank you to the chef’s for all the food they put together for us, please don’t forget to remind us next year, we will be back for more. Thanks again, carina hans appelgren

Cozy cafe in Manly with a mix of indoor and outdoor seating on the laneway near the library. Great selection of delicious Swedish dishes with my favorite being the meatballs, which come with an amazing gravy, lingonberry jam & pickled cucumber. Yum!
G. A.
Great coffee and super yummy iced chocolate and the food is amazing
I love that you have different pastry and food every season
J. M.
We loved it. Food was delicious! Very friendly. Found us a table quickly
K. S.
Our go to after our morning weekend swim. Great coffee and food is creative and delicious. Salmon lover and Nordic Bowl are a must try. Their Home brewed chai is also a good pick.
A. D.
Great little cafe in one of Manly's quieter lanes. Very accommodating of children, customising meals to suit them, and brilliant for adults too. Fantastic coffee and the big teas are awesome too. Also welcoming of work-from-home types who need a change of scene, easy to work from with laptop etc.
J. O.
Love this little Manly local.
Always good. Best bacon and egg rolls around with their delicious relish 👌
M. G.
Authentic Swedish place - limited seating but food, especially the seafood breakfasts & bread were very good. The meatball & mashed potato is also a must order.
C. R.
The most AMAZING cinnamon rolls you will ever eat in your life as well as great coffee and yummy treats. Make sure to go check them out once the quarantine has lifted : )
A. W.
Make sure you try the meatballs! Absolutely amazing! A little narrow and the toilets 🚻 are a bit hard to reach because you need to go through the kitchen area. But the atmosphere is great and the service is excellent!
T. P.
This is my favourite cafe in Sydney. The variety of coffee, amazing Swedish teas and hot chocolates here are always perfect. The Swedish food is always delicious no matter what you get, from the homemade Swedish meatballs to the gravlax sandwich to the homemade cinnamon buns. This a cafe where you are rewarded for going outside your food comfort zone. The cafe decor is beautiful and comfortable in it's Nordic yellow and blonde timber tones. The staff and owners are friendly and great at what they do. Thank you to the owners for bringing this lovely cafe to Sydney.
Z.
When we arrived its was all full , so me and a friend happily waited until we got a table around 15 min later. The staff were really nice about it and gave us the table we wanted. Me and my friend both ordered the swedish meatballs with gravy and mash. the meal wasnt bad but average, the meatballs tasted quite heavy and not like a usual swedish meatball you would expect and the mash was average aswell. The service is great with the staff checking if your ok or need anything.
N.
I come here from Wentworth Point with my partner for the Salmon Lover and the coffee. Truly the best coffee in Sydney that I can find for not a horrifying price. Highly recommend even just for the coffee.
J. C.
Fika has been the greatest addition to the Manly cafe scene! Us locals flock here for the superior coffee, the breakfast board, the range of salmon dishes including gravlax and crispy skinned salmon, the comforting desserts such as apple pie (one of the girls grandmother's recipe) and most importantly the incredibly lovely and friendly staff.
Fika is perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a coffee and cinnamon scroll - an absolute must for any local or visitor to Manly.
V. B.
As the name would indicate this cafe takes on a Swedish theme that is carried out from the decor, to the food to the random children's books on the shelf. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, serving perfectly made coffees and bringing the food out swiftly. Swedish meatballs and gravlex cured salmon in a couple of dishes, were the highlights, but it was very hard not to pick one of the delicious deserts in the cabinet.
R. K.
Welcomed with a smile and the great service didn't stop there. They were attentive with a good sense of humour. Food and coffee were both very good. Looking forward to our next visit.
J. W.
Great little eatery in the back lanes with the uniqueness of Scandinavian food that sits curiously well in an Australian setting. Busy place for sure with good reason. Happy positive FoH and baristas, well presented food in good time, it all makes for happy happy joy joy.
Returned here again after a while to a new menu. Had ål in, an eel dish with scrambled eggs and a bit of greenery. Where's the eel? A tiny amount and I mean tiny mixed in with the egg which added nothing to the blandness of the egg. Served on a charcoal black bun which looked alright but had the consistency of your average tip top loaf. I'll choose something else if I return but these experiences just sway my custom elsewhere usually. Up to you.
R. M.
One of manly's best for a casual breakfast or lunch or as the name suggests a coffee and catch up. Wide variety menu just that bit different with a friendly swedish attitude. It was a warm semolina porridge for me on a cold morning and the classic skagan prawns on toast for kath always a treat. Coffee times two.
A. B.
Great food! very refreshing to have something different for brekky and try a 'swedish' breakfast. 'Silly Susan' was awesome. wish i could try the rest of the menu. only here for a day. highly recommended.
n. (.
beautiful food and wonderful staff!
P. P.
Quite trendy but poached eggs were over cooked and rock hard. Avocado was just that, half an avocado in the shell, toast was plain. Virtually had to construct the meal ourselves. Not sure why it has such a high rating.
i. w.
Cute cozy little place in Manly. The swedish meatballs here is way better than IKEA's and it also has many more unique options on the menu. They also do great coffee. Friendly service. Accept eftpos.
R. D.
Awesome guys running the cafe. Grab the bacon and egg roll.
С. К.
Great food, chocolate cake (kladdkaka) was amazing! Great cinnamon rolls, meatballs and beer, all without breaking the bank. Only downside was service was slow, but it was a nice relaxed environment.
S. B.
We went for breakfast and were delighted with the combination of fresh and preserved flavours all so different from the usual breakfast menu. The staff were also very accommodating of us as a couple with a young baby.
S. Z.
Little gem of a place in the heart of Manly. Love that the place is all things Swedish. Portion sizes are on the small side but that's probably because it's delicious and you want more of it.
H. S.
Good coffee and tasty treats
D. B.
If you are searching to have a little lunch break having some genuine and affordable Swedish food, Fika is a great choice. Lovely "Lax pudding" and gorgeous meatballs with lingonberry jam, the portion size is just perfect! Coffe was delicious and the selection of teas to die for.
L. H.
I love Fika. I am Swedish myself and I absolutely love the food and drinks at Fika...so authentic and take my mind back to my homeland 😍
The service is always super friendly and I’ve always enjoyed my time there...usually longer than planned because we just keep eating and talking and eating and talking 😜😍
I can’t wait to come back again soon!
J.
It's OK. A bit overpriced, small portions and the staff are not Swedish, but decent quality food, although the sauce for the meatballs was watered down and did not represent Swedish meatballs correctly.
R. B.
Always busy little Café / restaurant. Coffee is good and breakfast is always a winner in our family. As the name suggests a little bit of Sweden in Manly. From tea, to breakfast, pastry and of course Meatballs. There is even little bookshelf to swap Swedish books.
B. E.
This place can only be described as WOW lol!!
Lost count how many times ive been here , with family, friends or aqaintances.
Whatever i order it tastes just like back home in Sweden at my grandparents house .
The staff and owner are super friendly and are always happy/cheerful !! Always up for explaining a dish or a friendly chit chat .
Its a bit pricey but there are never any complaints!! Foods delicous every time and the funniest thing is when people bag me out about the Fika cafe and as soon as they sit down and eat they're automatically speechless .
For me this was an easy 5 star rating !!
J. B.
Good semlas and coffee and friendly staff!
M. M.
The team at FIKA are so friendly and full of energy. Definitely some of the best coffee in Manly (which is a well fought title) and delicious food for all meals of the day, including a sweet snack (the cinnamon scrolls are next level)
V. J.
Very good food and affordable. The service was a bit too long (30mins to get an avocado toast).
R. M.
Love this place!
For a genuine swedish experience without the trip to Ikea or Sweden required :)
This is clean, and bright place with a wonderful selection of food, very friendly staff and a little swedish store!
My usual experience her is lunch with meatballs and coffee! but lately the swedish tea's which are beautifully fruity are winning me over served in giant warm mugs.
This place is always busy and there is a reason. 5 stars.
Note: they also have Free Wifi for remote workers.
L. V.
Try the salmon bite, if you can!
B. V.
Amazing food & the lovely staff show you through the unique menu. I recommend the great tasting Gravlax salmon, prawn tacos and herring sandwiches.
M. W.
Yum! Bustling but cosy little Swedish restaurant in an alleyway. Menu selection is not huge but food is prepared well and is tasty. Went for dinner and had the gravlax, toast skagen, meatballs and pan seared salmon, finishing with a dessert platter. I would definitely return to try some other fika items in the daytime.
S. K.
Good place - recommend the cinnamon buns. Had toast stagen for breakfast during visit with coffee. It was good and different from other places in Manly. Decent food but not worth the wait in line.
R. A.
Great service, Great food and SO SO accommodating. Never have I had a restaurant offering to substitute items for unwanted items on a chosen meal (at no extra cost). What service :) Will definitely be back and recommend to family and friends :)
S. H. (.
Excelent Cafe, food has got a perfect presentation and tasted very fresh, the colour of the salmon looked perfectly fresh. Staff are friendly as well.
Recommended place to eat and enjoy!
S. F. B.
Cute and cozy café. Went there with my gf. I had a traditional egg and caviar crispbread sandwich and it was delicious. We shared a "semla" as well, which was freshly baked and amazing!
N. M.
The best toast Skagen outside of Sweden!! Fantastic atmosphere and lovely staff. A must if you are in the Sydney area.
N. S.
Comfy inviting and warm.. Fika Swedish kitchen is a cute little cafe opposite the library. The decor is minimalist, with clean lines and you get the feeling that you are eating at ikea! But the food is anything but supermarket fare. It is fresh Swedish fare with amazing meatballs with gravy, silky buttery and oh so good mashed potatoes with a side of berry sauce . Yumm ! The salmon pie with spinach and dill is mouthwatering good. Delicate simple flavours and delicious food. We have been here for breakfast as well, and their museli with berry yogurt, and the pancakes are a real treat. They do very good coffees as well. Oh and in winters they do the Swedish version of mulled wine which comes with nuts to add to the warm wine .. Close your eyes for a moment as you sip it and you u could be tricked into thinking u r in a land far far away !
M.
Like a Swedish oasis down under. Makes me miss home a bit less.
Food is always great and they add new fun traditional Scandinavian food with a twist. Love the meatballs, the kaviar macka, the toast skagen. My new favorite is the Ålandspannkaka - simply superb!
T. K.
A great cafe with delicious Swedish influenced dishes. Excellent coffee and friendly staff. I recommend giving it a try!
T. k.
If like me you love a big mug their chai is a must it’s huge!! The skagen is a personal favourite so fresh and yum every time.
C. “. H. A.
I love this place!! The food is sooooo good - Id never had Swedish food before nom nom nom. Great service as well - its a small venue but has an awesome vibe - highly recommend if you are over this way!
E. C.
If your only experience of Swedish food is IKEA, you need to check out Fika. You are in for a treat - Swedish food is so much more than meatballs. Delightful atmosphere, friendly staff and fantastic food!
C. H.
Cute little cafe serving honest, healthy and fresh food with friendly service. It's my go to place for breakie whenever I'm in town.
C. A.
Love the food at Fika. Reminds me of the 4 years I spent living in Sweden and dining on the food. Fika do an amazing job and you would actually think you are at a cool cafe in Sweden. Love their köttbullar med potatismos
A. I.
Great coffee - very nice place to sit down for a while. Friendly staff and great service. Menu with Swedish vibes - including meatballs of course.
C. a. V. (. &. V.
Fika Swedish Kitchen really is a breath of fresh Scandinavian air within Sydney’s coffee culture and is a must for food and coffee lovers looking to explore the amazing variety our city offers us.
Definitely try the Semla if you're lucky enough to be at Fika during the limited time it's available annually.
M.
Coffee is great, food is delicious and the staff are friendly. The serving sizes are a bit small, however. Would recommend
S. R.

B. A.
Strong, smooth coffee fit for the connoisseur, tucked away in the hidden streets of Manly. Quaint decor with friendly service, this cafe alone is well worth the escape from the cbd
B. W.
Ordered the pancake and the eggs on toast. Nothing too special, but not bad at all. Good service. Cute little place.
C. G.
The Wild Bowl was amazing. I loved everything about it - slaw, egg, avo - so so good. Get it!
R. H.
This place is great! Lovely staff and the food is amazing. They also have a little shop with Swedish treats which is nice
M. L.
Bright, young and blonde-haired patrons have been a fixture in Manly's seaside cafes for decades. Yet the diners at Fika are just as likely to hail from Norrköping as they are Narrabeen.
The authentic Swedish fare at this restaurant, tucked away in Market Lane, draws in expats from across the city. Regular dishes like the Prawn Skagen, Gravlax and Smörgåstårta (a layered sandwich featuring much of the above) are authentic versions of the Scandinavian classics.
For Antipodeans looking for something a little more pronounceable, the Swedish meatballs are a satisfying option. Coming with a side of mashed potato and tasty gravy, they're the go-to dish for many of the locals.
Space is at a premium at Fiko, with a couple of tables inside and a few prime outside locations. The blonde wood décor is understated and pleasant, who are attentive without being overbearing.
Get there early and give your self time to take in one of Sydney's best Nordic pleasures.
J. S.
Affordable, efficient, fast and effective! Cheerful service and great food that doesn't leave you feeling too bloated afterwards. Definitely worth multiple visits
B. H.
I had a hankering for Swedish food and this hit the spotl. I recommend the hash, the pickled beets were a nice addition.
They serve drip/filter coffee too
T. G.
The staff is so friendly, even when they're busy. We loved the mulled wine and the meatballs. The pytt i panna was a little off though.
