Comments of King Tide Cafe
B.
Great food!! I stopped in to try out the King Tide Cafe for lunch and it didn’t disappoint. Great value for money plus there is a good view from the seating areas if you choose to dine in. The staff were great and I will certain go out of my way to come back one day.
S.
Friendly cafe on the water at Brooklyn marina. The quality of the meals was very good and the waitress came out and spoke to us about a minor change in the menu, which was very considerate. The kids loved the pancakes with fruit and ice-cream and my scrambled eggs was cooked well and tasty. And of course the view over the Hawkesbury is amazing.

WOW. What a beautiful place. The King Tide Cafe at Brooklyn NSW by the water! Staff are very friendly and courteous, breakfast and caramel latte coffee were amazing and the views are simply stunning! Definately recommend this place on your way to Sydney or on your way up to the Central Coast for relaxing coffee or meal and the meals are well priced too.
Thank you King Tide Cafe we will be back! Carrie and Craig (Central Coast)

Tucked away gem! Fresh fresh fresh seafood!
Nothing fancy well seasoned simplicity — fresh seafood hero. Crunchy light no oil taste…Fishermans basket and fish&chips orders. Oysters are a bit small but fresh and clean taste…creamy fresh.
BYO only . Fair price with water views right on the Marina. Breakfast and Lunch only.
Shout out to Jade… local knowledge and great friendly cheerful service.
Lots of parking… also a quick access to Ferry to Dangar Island.
Z.
Great cafe with fantastic location and water view, staff are very nice!
The girls made very nice coffee, probably one of the best I had in Sydney!
Highly recommended but best to make a booking before you go.
r.
We are lucky to have this Cafe within our LGA and a beautiful location to enjoy some safe outdoor recreation. We were not expecting the takeaway brekkys to still be so appealing - presented beautifully and tasted amazing. Thanks to the chef and staff who really cared, and made our morning in the sunshine wonderful.
C. B.
Absolutely loved the placed. Me and my friend were on our way back to Sydney and decided to stop at Brooklyn to get some coffee. We were walking around the area and saw this cafe. The waterfront view from this cafe and the atmosphere of this place felt really relaxing that we decided to have our lunch here. The coffee was brilliant. The service was quick and amazing. The food was very good and it tasted very fresh. And I wouldn't say that the prices were expensive but it rather matched the portion sizes and taste of the food. Will definitely recommend to anyone driving to Brooklyn or past it.
H. A.
The food was average and overpriced for the portion size. Customer service is good but table service would have been nicer. The view and location is really good, overall happy with our visit.
V. T.
I found out about this place from TV (Sydney weekender I think) and those foodie people and from what I saw I wanted to try but wished I never came across it at all.
Food is very average, nothing special.
I had their fish n chips and the way it came out I've seen better presentations from pubs etc. I got 2 lettuce leaves probably best left off and the tartare sauce was like Mayo.
Prices are decent.
m. n.
stopped on our way from Sydney up to central coast for an early lunch. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the setting was gorgeous (right on the water overlooking the boats and across from dangar Island) and my daily special of QLD tiger prawns was delicious and generous (10 big prawns for $22 - much larger than they appear in the in the photo). As mentioned in other reviews, it's not somewhere to go if you want cheap but it's by no means expensive and considering the outlook and other local options, I'd say good value.

Been a great spot for lunches by the watet for years . Simple fish and chips or great oysters. Went Tuesday , yellow chips ,great fish, a dated (cant even remember what it was called) swipe of aioli across the plate. Is this place under new management?
Yes, bring back the bowl of great chips, fish ,tartare sauce. Its what we go back for.
P. Z.
We had a delicious breakfast yesterday early morning ordering each their 'Hang Over Cure' from their breakfast menu. This was reported as one of the coldest mornings in 40 years so it was good they also had the gas heaters nearby.
E. K.
It's OK but overpriced for take away. Cheapest take away fish and chips option was $25 for barramundi and chips - fish was nice but chips were bland (The menu has hake and chips for $18 but we were told this was not available). The feta salad with chicken was nice but small and the feta was sparse; for $22 my 10 year old daughter was still hungry afterwards.
A. A.
First time visiting the King Tide Cafe this morning and came down from th Central Coast. Service was friendly and food was fresh and very tasty. Great coffee too. The views were also a plus! Will definitely be back!
L. K.
Delicious food, great location near the water, close to public transport which is a bonus. Definitely recommend it😊
M. D.
Fantastic place to stop into for a coffee or breakfast after a nice ride or drive through the twisty roads.
A nice little quiet part of the world with very good prices, awesome on a sunny day.
R. H.
Great food, view and relaxed open air atmosphere. Ideal to meet up with family & friends for breakfast or lunch. Been there dozens of times always great.
M. G.
Personally I found it bit hit and miss and average. Went there with a group of friends, we all ordered different things. Some good and some not as good. The Nemo fish burger was delicious while the Veggie burger wasn't as good. Was still yummy but I found the fritter was more like mush and not a patty and was missing the corn that was mentioned on the menu, also had way too much lettuce and mixed leaves compared to everything else. Bread also wasn't fresh but I did visit on a Sunday so could've been bread from day before. It's a cute little place with a beautiful view. Also we asked the waitress several times for napkins, sauce that we ordered etc and I'm not sure if it was forgotten as it was semi busy but the sauce never came. Apart from that it wasn't too bad.
N. B.
Our go to for lunch when we visit Brooklyn. Staff always lovely and helpful and kid and dog friendly...food has never disappointed either :)
K.
A very pleasant venue with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Charming water views and friendly staff. The food was reasonably priced and tasty. I recommend this for a relaxed lunch with a friend or two. It doesn't serve alcohol, but an obliging bottleshop is just a couple of doors away (once again, friendly, obliging staff) 😁
B. O.
Delicious fresh fish, enjoyable coffee and amazing open air water views - so refreshing and relaxing! Best enjoyed with good company!
A. R.
Nice way to enjoy some fish n chips. Whilst fresh, a little on the pricy side. Should mention that the service was friendly & helpful.
l. m.
This is a hidden gem on the Hawkesbury.
Even tho service was a little slow. The food was nice and the location was beautiful.
Y. S.
Great view and nice environment. Food is not the best but good enough.
However, assuming they make their own chips? Their chips have actually potato taste and very tasty!
H. M.
Beautiful location. Service was excellent and friendly, food was great and coffee to die for.
H. M.
Delicious spicy wedges with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce overlooking the majestic Hawkesbury River
T. N.
A very enjoyable place to enjoy fish & chips and a glass of wine, we had a lovely sunny day to sit and enjoy the view.
C. H.
Crazy good fish burger. Nemo died for good reason. Everything was perfect.
K. E.
Food was excellent and the service was lovely. We had the loaded croissants but with hollandaise. Also, the truffle, provolone sausage was one of the best sausages I have had. The water view was nice and it would have been perfect if it wasn't for the exhausting blow-hard at the next table. But that has nothing to do with the restaurant itself, so 5 stars.
M. C.
Nice view service were quick as not too busy that day. Oysters good size and fresh.
J. C.
Tasty burger and chips and surprisingly cheap oysters right next to the water.
G. M.
Wonderful experience service and food excellent
Great outlook on the marina a plus
G. a. S. B.
What a great place. Wonderful location with first class food at reasonable prices. We visited for breakfast - delicious. And a friendly, helpful staff team. We will be back sooner than later.
b. m.
Always consistent. Always kind and a true local favorite of mine
N. W.
Great location. Good menu. Good service.
V. F.
There is not a lot on the menu by way of snacks, mostly meals but by gosh the coffee is fantastic and not to mention the view!
C. M.
Highly recommended. A group of 7 of us went there to have our work Christmas lunch and it was a great experience. We had the share plates and salads - every single dish was delicious, with the house-smoked salmon a real stand out. The view out to the marina provided a lovely backdrop. My only slight complaint was the lack of dessert menu, but the chocolate brownies were beautiful. Would definitely go again and try other dishes on the menu. Friendly and helpful staff too - and considering where it is & the standard of food, very reasonably priced.
J. H.
We had a lovely experience at King Tide Cafe. The staff were so welcoming and the place was very clean - always making an effort to properly sanitize between each sitting. Brilliant food and tasty coffee.
C. W.
Situated on the small marina with cafe style facility.
Fish and chips ok, really no service, no bar so you need to go to the bottleshop a few doors down.
Ok but I can't recommend to my followers. 🤔
C. S.
Enjoyed a delicious lunch with my daughter here. Fish & chips was great, as was the Calamari
R. I.
Really delicious food!! Got the Fresh Oysters and they were magnificent. The green salad was so fresh!!! Loved all the herbs in it. The coconut milk cap was lukewarm, and took ages, but hey you can’t have everything:) Overall a good experience.. my tummy is happy.
Z. L.
Wonderful. I ordered the calamari and chips. The calamari was exceptional and the batter was crunchy. The meat was succulent and tender. I also ordered the strawberry smoothie and it was excellent! The frozen strawberries made it cold as it was a hot day that day, it definitely cooled me down. It added a tint of sweetness to it and the texture was thick and just right. The staff were very kind. I definitely recommend this wonderful place ^_^ :-D :-)
G.
The eggs Benedict was pretty good however was disappointed that it was served in disposable paper plates with bamboo cutlery. This made it very difficult and messy to eat with. Considering the covid situation, I would have been more understanding of eating out of paper plates if it was reflected in the price. The price is still sit down Cafe prices however we received similar to take away service. Either prices should be lowered for sit down service, or use appropriate glass plates/cups and metal cutlery. Service was quick though.
V. M.
Great food and coffee, friendly service and excellent views of the river
K. W.
Lovely spot to have lunch, plenty of tables and the burgers and chips yummy! Service great too!
R. G.
Nice local cafe. Good views. Polite and smiling staff. Good food. My grilled fish was too salty. Orders didn't not come all together. One every 5 min. Will definitely go back again.
M. L.
My large family shared a fantastic breakfast here today. The food and service was excellent. Will certainly come back. Thank you
B. B.
This is a beautiful space for breakfast or lunch. Overlooking the Brooklyn marina, the cafe is set up boardwalk style. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was delicious. The portions were good and filling and there is something on menu for every one.
s. k.
Decent food, good views but it takes too long to order and get it served. The staff are nice, want to be helpful, however quite can't get their act together. Parking can be challenging on busy days, best to head up the one way road up the hill to find parking.
I. A.
Best iced coffee I've had for a long time
G. K.
2nd visit not as good as our first. I kind of expected a slightly more enthusiastic service from such a quality establishment. Not going to let one persons "bad day " define this nice cafe. The river views, fresh air, spacious seating area and fine food are more than enough to entice customers.
Also why do some venues insist on toasting sourdough bread to a tooth shattering crispness?
I. B.
This is our favourite place in Brooklyn for coffee. The staff here are amazingly friendly and fun, they really look after us and our young kids.
The food is reasonably priced and great quality! There is plenty of seating in the wharf with great views of the Hawkesbury River, Dangar Island and the rail line (great for train spotters!).
S. L.
Not the easiest place to find, and even on a weekday, I had trouble parking. Positives, the food was pretty good, and the water view is lovely.
Negatives, staff were so disinterested, especially the younger girl. The seating is uncomfortable and old. The place looks drab, it definitely needs a make over.
J. L.
Great fresh food, a little more expensive than your average cafe but worth it with a lovely view lovely, we ordered the calamari rings and they were so tender..highly recommend!!
H. S.
This place is average at best . it wasn’t bad but it was poorly managed .
j. A.
Great meals a d good service, with a nice view of mariner.
T.
Food was very yummy, coffee as well and the views are truly outstanding! We spent whole morning there and would have stayed longer, but it was pretty busy and we had to give space to other customers.
G. M.
Nice setting, good coffee. Service a bit slow
f.
Great view with casual dining. I was there during the week and it was not too busy but I could imagine weekends getting pretty packed. Parking can be very difficult even midweek.
D. J.
Food is fine without being great and pricey for what it is. The quieter end has had chairs upgraded so was fresh. Friendly staff and great outlook at lunch, might be a bit intense summer afternoons when the sun is lower.
It was quite busy on a Monday and parking a challenge, so weekends might require some planning
S. V.
I had visitors from the UK so though it would be nice to sit by waters edge for lunch. Lovely venue, great pleasant staff ,well cooked food but very expensive. $25 for one piece of grilled fish, (8 only) chips and a small amount of green salad on side of plate.
You do always pay anywhere, extra for waters edge dining !!!!
BUT...Just around the corner from King Tide you can buy the same fish and chips...but many more chips... for much much cheaper at the roadside stall. Great food but no water view, thats the different.
Nevertheless its a lovely spot for lunch...
K. D.
less than expected. quite busy on a weekday during holidays. covid practices okay enough, hand sanitiser seemed to have run out. the person who seemed to be only one delivering food was understandably busy, but not following through on bringing extra plates or water is just disappointing - better to slow down and get it done.
A. A.
Beautiful place to enjoy a meal, accessible by train, boat or car. Food is fresh and tasty with a wide range of seafood, burgers and salads. Very friendly service and breathtaking view. Not to mention the 5 star coffee and cake selection. I rate this cafe/ restaurant very highly and recommend it to anyone in the Sydney and central coast area.
p. c.
Delicious Breakfast. Great Coffee. Definitely will be back.
My only issue would be dirty plates left on the table beside us.Waitress needs training. It was not over busy. No excuse.
T. M.
Perfect meeting place for catchups with Newcastle friends. Right next to the train line. This cafe is BYO, and there's a bottle'o right next door. Food was quick and everybody really enjoyed it.
E. J.
Love this place..family business..great food and service with a wonderful waterside position.
E. P.
A pleasant pre coffee (in Brooklyn) to a boat river Cruise in the Hawkesbury River. Staff friendly and accommodating for the short visit.
M. A.
We reserved a big table at the weekend for a family get together. The service wasn't the fastest as it was very busy but everything came out in sequence without issue. The coffee was good and the specials were the best food options. The only challenge is the limited parking - unless you like the hill!
B. D.
Love the service...food and friendless of the staff..feel.almost family!
S. R.
I was running to get the ferry and ran out of time to collect my order, completely my fault. One of the handsome waiters selflessly ran to the ferry terminal/wharf to deliver me my chocolate milkshake, I was very appreciative and it was extremely amazing service, would recommend this place to everyone 😍
R. C.
Coffee was good service good nice ambience
B. V.
Food is fantastic and reasonably priced. Service is great. They are very relaxed about what they make and when. Love this place.
k. n.
This place has got to be the best place to have a meal.
I take my elderly clients there all the time.
The staff are so great and polite. Nothing is too much trouble.
I will keep going back again and again and would recommend King tide cafe to everyone.
p. k.
Very basic but very good...lunch on the board walk! Excellent seafood options, grabbed a bottle of rośe from the bottleo next door!
G. K.
Been here quite a few times. When its not low tide, its a pretty chilled spot to hang out and have a coffee. The food is nice, but the sizes are not generous in size. Coffee blend is nice though.
K. W.
Food isn't that special but it has great ambience. Portions are a little on the small size. Noisy and busy for sleepy Brooklyn. Great working marina feel to it. Casual and fun!
V. S.
Only decent restaurant open on a Tuesday in Brooklyn! Great water views, friendly staff and meals were great. We had a prawn spaghetti and brushetta with salmon. BYO. Only negative was lots of fresh seafood sold out when we arrived (2:15pm)
D. S. (. J.
Great food. Lovely staff. Really enjoyed our visit
M. T.
Lovely view of boats on the river. Food was tasty & filling. My group enjoyed ourselves.
D. H.
Very nice place by the water, make awesome iced chocolate, fish and chips were fresh and tasty too
G. F.
Lovely meal, expansive river view, plenty of choice and great prices.
S. B.
Favourite place to have lunch in Brooklyn,
Staff are polite and amazing.
Food is always fresh and tastes great.
Great coffee and drinks
Perfect place to eat or drink with a water view
D. D.
Ordered fish and chips - fish was nice - chips not so much. Location was fantastic though. It was unfortunate that they had run out of items we were ordering and it was only lunchtime!!!
C. L.
This place sure has improved since the last time I was here about a year ago. The food, coffee and customer service is so much better now. The staff are friendly and serve you with a genuine smile. This is a very important factor to me.
g. H.
An awesome place for lunch, where dogs are very welcome.
S. R.
Friendly and easy going place to visit..Food was good without being brilliant. No complaints
A. G.
Really nice lunch all the seafood was fresh and lovely staff. Not a huge menu more like a sit down take away restaurant.
T. K.
Great Kurringai Transport outing for seniors.
Tasty fish and chips .
Pity about the power failure and no cuppa.
But not their fault.
However a quarter of a muffin per person was a bit poor.
s. g.
The QLD Barramundi was good! The Mango smoothie was nice! The coffee was nice! Good service!
R. T.
Went there last Sunday with a group of friends. Food was fabulous, good value for money. service very friendly , great atmosphere and fantastic views. Thank you King Tide Group for a very pleasant experience.
g. c.
The best atmosphere and views. Family run business that gives true frendly service with great food.
A. F.
Lime thick-headed; awesome!
J. B.
Was nice too many dog
L. F.
Quick service, good food, reasonable prices although a little on the high side for some dishes. Lovely view. Parking was scarce. VERY noisy.
K. S.
Always lovely here - good food, very pleasant staff. Great outlook!
K. T.
Great view of Brooklyn and the Hawksbury River. The seafood is very fresh and the menu offers a good variety of choices of seafood, salads, burgers, vegetarian, cakes and coffee.
J. C.
There's not much to choose from in Berowra so this place isnt too bad. The foods good but a little pricey but it is on the water so it's to be expected. The parking a nightmare on weekends so be prepared to walk.
N. F.
Love King Tide and the people who run it. Excellent coffee and their new menu is fantastic. Always happy to see us and our four legged friend
K. C. (.
Great place to stop by for a bite to eat.
A.
Lovely lunch spot on the water. Only downside was some meals in our group were brought out long after the first lot were finished
J. F.
Realy nice place to sit back and watch the world of water go by. The food was excellent.
J. K.
Lovely location great food and service good coffee . Worth a visit
T. D.
Very busy, beautiful view. The grilled fish was over cooked and not the greatest. Not worth $30.
A. K.
Great coffee and selection of quality food. A wee bit pricey for 'ol Brooklyn but compensated with a lovely waterside view and really nice staff.
S. S.
Amazing place. Delicious seafood. Great prices. Definitely recommend.
S. C. M.
Nice staff and location. Food was nice and well portioned. Make sure you pick a warm day as the breeze can be quite chilling.
E. H.
Nice outlook over the harbour, but $21 for such a small piece of blue eye and a handful of chips? Paying for the views I guess...
M. M.
The best fish& chips in Sydney & surrounds. Has been consistent for years. Don't miss it.
C. R.
Great service and food including menu options. Well done, especially given it is not in a big city.
N. K.
Its a nice place to eat the only thing i dont like is that it’s a health hazard and danger to children with dogs not being on their leads and being allowed to wonder under everone elses tables while we are trying to eat our meal.
P.
Great place to sit in the sun and enjoy a John Dory fish burger!
R. B.
Not bargain prices but tasty food and interesting location. Staff helpful and friendly. Left a phone behind - staff found and kept safe until retrieved. Kudos!
K. K.
The friendliest service you could ask for. Essentially a chippy, with burgers and a few other menu items but a little more expensive because of the view.
C. B.
Recently visited for Breakfast, beautiful location, great food and coffee which was reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
A. J.
Perfect freshly cooked seafood. Bottle shop next door for byo, beautiful day in the Hawkesbury.
T. W.
Great location. Able to book a table. Well behaved dogs allowed. Normal cafe food.
S. S.
Takeaway is a little overpriced at $23 for grilled fish & chips, and $15 for battered fish & salad. Waited 45 mins for it to arrive. Food was ok.
S. B.
Great place to catch up with family. Half way point between Sydeny and Newcastle. Seafood is always great tasting.
M. P.
Nice spot. Friendly staff. Quick service.
Food was good, not cheap, but not expensive.
