This morning I returned to my favourite local back when I lived in Redfern over 3 years ago and I was not disappointed. This family-owned cafe has friendly & attentive service, a nice atmosphere and tasty, beautifully plated food. I tried the French toast from the new menu today and my friend had the homemade banana bread, both delicious! I would also recommend the teapot of spice chai or freshly made watermelon juice - yum!

I was informed that this cafe roasts their own beans inhouse. I was excited to try the brew and have a little spot of breakfast. Invited my coffee connoisseur tester to join me this morning. After the heavy rain cleared by 8.00 am, we arrived anticipating a nice hot cup. A single brew of South American beaned, long black filtered for me, and a cappuccino for my connoisseur. We both thought the coffees were exceptionally smooth in taste. It was subtle, fruity and not too acidic. A perfect start until two orders of French toast, ricotta, grilled banana, strawberries, berries, caramel cream and some crumble appeared before us. Finished off with a drizzle of sweet, sticky maple syrup on top. I can't remember the last time I had French toast. It brought back memories of having a morning buffet overseas at a resort in Thailand. Today's meal served by a friendly, knowledgeable waitress was perfect. Simply can't fault it. Perhaps, the early bird really does catch the worm...

A lovely place for brunch. The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed. The food was nice; I had toast with avocado. You can bring the frank green cup and ask them to put your drink in it, instead of a disposable cup.

Usually all i expect is cafes to honour the reservation and good service and food at a bare minimum, these guys went aboge and beyond that. Exceptionally lovely staff, a warm welcome and fresh and tasty food and decent sizes. Thanks for having our group so early and being so accommodating. Dimitri was lovely and gave us a run down of the story of Little Evie, where they source their produce and had some tasty recommendations. I was definitely blown away. A great start to my weekend. We will definitely be back Dimitri and Sabrina.

Great coffee offering with lots of menu options for breakfast or lunch. Plenty of space inside and out, it is so nice to sit outside in the tree lined street on a warm day and enjoy everything this cafe has to offer. Staff are friendly and efficient, definitely coming back to visit again!

One of the best breakfast place in Surry Hills in my opinion. This place is not only about food. Every time I come here I enjoy not only the perfect taste of the food but also an excellent look of it. Friendly atmosphere. I feel like visiting my friends house. Great food, great service, we've been here a few times and recently found a nice very kid friendly park across the street for my 4 year old! Coffee was literally one of the best in the city, the ambiance of the restaurant is light and breezy, prefect for Sunday brunch!

Little Evie is amazing! The food is incredible, the people are friendly and helpful. We went on a Friday for lunch and it was easy to get a table. I have been there on a weekend and it gets very busy so allow extra time. Totally worth the wait!! Breakfast menu is great, cakes and coffee delicious.

Just stopped for coffee and cakes. First impressions: menu on website is not the same as in-store prices. It appears those online are the takeaway prices. Water was delivered to table and spilt, no apology, no attempt to clean it. Staff clearing table throw the remaining water into the gutter - Bangkok style. We ordered coffee, watermelon smoothie, Apple slice and Greek filo custard thing that I can't spell. Good coffee, small is small but really great coffee! Apple slice was yum, a little dry and might have been better warmed. Greek pastry which looked crispy was cold, no crunch and disappointing but when I asked the owner offered to warm it under the grill - ask for it warm, custard was delicious. Watermelon smoothie was weak, bland and glasses are small. Service: Water glasses were refilled without asking and the owner is super friendly. Dishes on neighbouring tables were colourful and large, the fried chicken smelly great. I'll be back to try the chicken chia bowl. Great Service.

Really poor service for a quiet Sunday lunch which was a huge dampener on the experience. However the delicious and fantastic food and coffee almost made up for it. Highly recommend the breakfast dishes with silky scrambled eggs. Love the side of fresh salads which the larger dishes and the portions were spot on for price. The coffee was delicious and definitely packed a punch! Pancakes were also a stand out. Enjoyed by all in our group of six.

Got the breakfast lentils and I felt like everything was there for a delicious meal...Just kinda lacked anything to make out interesting. Still, overall a good experience. Friendly staff and a nice selection of menu items available including some vegan options. The coffee is fine and service is fairly quick however I visited during a quiet period. This place can get quite busy but there is plenty of indoor and some footpath seating available.

Loved going to this cafe when i was on a budget - delicious house-made special chips that are pretty affordable, and their avocado toast was always my go-to when i lived in the area. Their servings of avo was always very generous and the ingredients of fresh and high quality. Always really happy with their pricier meals too when i did get them like the famous chicken and the yummy brekkie dishes (chorizo stack). You definitely get enough for the amount you pay (which to be fair for sydney is normal prices). Overall great coffee, great food, really lovely atmosphere and options for everyone of any budget and dietary requirement.

I was visiting from NZ and made a phone booking on Mother's Day (busy day!). Every effort was made to find us a table for mid morning, and they were able to squeeze us in. Extremely cute cafe serving great coffee and excellent quality food, at the bottom end of Surry Hills. A large canope provides a good area to sit on the street, although there is also plenty of room inside. Very tasteful interior decoration.
