Attended for casual lunch on our anniversary and found staff are friendly, food is filling and tasty with laid back ambience. Offers indoor and outdoor seating with also few picnic tables if you get takeaway. We ordered a few different things to share and were only unsatisfied with the dryness of the ribs. Will definitely return and recommend.

A beautiful, quaint restaurant nestled in Hunter Valley. We ordered the buffalo wings, smokehouse burger and mushroom toastie which were all absolutely amazing!! Highly recommended the chips also, so crunchy and tasty. If you're looking for smoky bites, this certainly delivers....even the butter is smoked!

Peaceful place. I have got slow cooked beef brisket actually it was toooo dry and I couldn’t finished it . Portions are big and enough. Prices are not expensive and also it’s a good stop for having lunch. Maybe i should’ve had their hamburgers.

The food was fantastic. The dining experience was disappointing due kids running around like it was a playground and the meals being served in a box with disposable cutlery. I know, covid, but being we don't have to wear masks etc anymore why couldn't the delicious meals be served on plates with washable cutlery?

The deli has a great selection of mouthwatering smoked meats and cheese. Ordered a sample platter of the meats and cheese with no regrets. The smoked brisket and the salmon salad were flavorsome and filling. Highly recommend!

Came for lunch and ordered the pork ribs and beef brisket. Beautiful flavours and tender meat. Wish we could have tried a platter too, they kept coming past us and every single one looked amazing. The view of the vineyards under the sun created a really relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. Would definitely come again.

Try one of the platters for two with a bottle of wine then buy some of the treats when you leave. Easy to get there, parking is convenient and the scenery is stunning.

Wonderful food, the smoked Jin was so nice, duck pate was to die for. Beautiful scenery outside the cafe, where you can take you drink and sit on the grass while enjoying the epic vineyard view! Most of all, it’s definitely a 10 star wonderful customer service. I accidentally left my handbag in the toilet in the cafe, Debbie(the owner) kindly give me her personal mobile number and helped to arrange express post back to Sydney! What more can you ask for? Recommend to everyone who goes to Hunter Valley. A stop that you must take.

If you are in the Hunter Valley, nay New South Wales, and you do not visit the Lovedale Smokehouse, you are insane. The hoagie and the bbq ribs are two of the best plates of food I have ever had. Do not miss this place.

Love the chicken wings and sausage in smokehouse selection. Brisket was a little lean, rib sauce was soft and cooked well, but sauce was a little too much for my liking. Best chips, good portions, great prices for the area. Flies can hang around, but since it's alfresco not much can be done about that.

We enjoyed Mother's Day at Lovedale Smokehouse. Relaxing atmosphere, generous servings, great flavours and even given how busy they were, service with a smile. Average food- had penne pasta, seafood and basic chacuterie, pork ribs w coleslaw or chips. Best food item was chips. Ribs weren't as tender as expected. Didn't try burgers but they did look good. Drinks options were above average but nothing special. The customer service was good and the ladies serving us had a lovely charm. Would possibly recommend if wanting a burger in the area but otherwise, would give it a miss for another easy option in the area.

The owners Ben and Deb are so caring and thoughtful always checking in to see how everything is. Not many restaurants can face a pandemic and come out stronger then what they did before. Pleasant casual lunch spot The cafe is located in a scenic spot. It is casual compared to some of the other venues in the Hunter Valley. The service staff seemed overrun, with only one person greeting staff, taking orders and serving. The beef brisket was tasty, but did not have the smokey flavour I would expect of a smokehouse. The coleslaw and mac and cheese were pretty average. The cook could check out the Foodlab recipes for outstanding versions that would impress customers.

The meals were hearty and flavoursome, I thoroughly enjoyed the saucy smoked ribs and the beef brisket, we ended up coming here twice on our holiday as we wanted to try the rest of the menu, lost one star because there wasn’t enough parking so a lot of cars had to park on the grass and there was a huge pothole on the way in! But the food is fantastic, and the small deli shop had a great variety of meats, cheeses and seasonings for the hungry traveller. I do recommend booking before coming as saturday and Sunday were extremely busy! I agree with other reviews saying the macaroni was delicious and the coleslaw is a waste of time (don’t even think about it ) and the chips are also very seasoned and salty but I love them like that!

They also have a great range of craft beers and ciders, crispy chips, great burgers and nachos. The duck pate and mussels from the pantry are addictive. Lovely hosts.

I'd heard about this place through Facebook and wanted to check it out. I love the idea of a venue that 'is what it is', doing something and focussed on doing it well. It really is all about smoked stuff here and they do a range of smoked items, meats, seafood, cheese, even butter! There is an overwhelming feeling of honest, good operators, working hard to bring good food and good service, and trying to make a living with it. I totally applaud that ethic. We had a few different dishes, and some craft beers. This city boy was keen to try something new and I got it in abundance. The house made charcuterie is great: well cured, good flavours. Overall the hands down winner for me was the smoked brisket with mac & cheese. Slowly cooked and tender, sticky deliciousness that is still resounding a day later as I write this. An excellent addition is the display fridges at the entry, we dived in and dinner in front of the TV at home was more meat, pate, terrine and smoked mussels. If I lived in the Hunter I'd be ordering takeaway here on a regular basis. Thanks for your hospitality, for friendly, warm service, and congratulations on being you, so well.

Reading the website and self proclaimed statements like “showcases our range of house-made smoked produce“, I had high expectation however, the food and price does not come close to expectation. The ribs were dry and certainly don’t fall off the bone, no smokey flavour accompanied by over salted and thyme chips; the brisket is moist and tasty but again the “smoked produce” doesn’t deliver. The best item on the menu anyone had was the macaroni and the biggest waste of money is the coleslaw. The seating and service during COVID was good, friendly staff and the 50 minute seating time is plenty time to eat but I am unsure what has happened to a ‘smoke house’ serving food minus the smoke. Didn’t leave hungry but wouldn’t be in a rush to come back.

We had a gorgeous lunch out in the sun overlooking the vines. I absolutely love that they do platters for one, whereas so many other places only do share platters. The food was all amazing (they also do really good burgers!) and afterwards we splurged on delicious cured meats and handmade condiments at the store. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone who visits the area!

The grounds are really well kept, outside area is layed out well. Food was delicious, the smoked flavour across all the meats and cheeses really is nice. They have a decent selection of wine and beer, as well as coffees and loose leaf tea. Priced reasonable.

We went on a Saturday and it wasn't too busy. We were offered a table inside as there was a warm breeze, however opted for outside in the Tuscan style courtyard overlooking the beautiful vineyard. There were four of us and we ordered 2 different platters, one Seafood and one meat, both delicious and plentiful with just the right amount of fresh and tasty salad and both went well with the Pinot Gris. They now also have a great selection of craft beers. The BYO option for wine is brilliant, which we are taking advantage of this weekend. The muscians were on the day were fabulous as was the singing magpie. Altogether a wonderful day out, thank you Smokehouse!

Book an indoor table on a hot Summer's day on the vineyards, as the Spanish style courtyard has Lavers and bright brick walls, not conduce to staying cool. The share platters for two seem a bit pricey at $55, but they certainly come out looking very impressive, with ample food. The beef spare ribs are gigantic, I definitely had food envy. Also includes a shop with items to take home.

It's ok. The platters for 2 aren't anything special. Had "The Talga" platter which had enough meat on it but just 1 small chunk of cheese (about half of what you'd expect on a platter for 2) and an excessive amount of salad to fill the plate. Their smoked honey is very good though (ask for a sample with the platter).
