My favourite coffee in the CBD! Smooth and delicious. Not a lot of seats but generally quick turnover of people so most times ok to get a table. Sandwiches also great here. Excellent spot to sit and soak in the business of the city.

Was really disappointed with my coffee. Rushed, burnt milk, took so long to cool down and in the end wasn’t drinkable. Went straight to Gumption nearby. This isn’t my first time at Mecca and was good last time but this time coffee was so bad, giving 3 stars for the variability of my experience. Friendly good customer service.

High quality espresso based drinks in downtown Sydney. Pretty limited seating available and the shop is geared more towards takeaway. Coffee: 4:5 stars Food: 4 stars Service: 4 stars Recommendations: White coffee (latte, cap, flat white, etc) Service is quite efficient and you will get your drink shortly after ordering. Good place to go for a quick coffee on your way to the office. They do serve a nitro cold brew here as well. Not the best I've had but definitely better than average. This can be pretty nasty if not done right. The food menu here is really a concise list of toasts and simple brunch items. I had the Mecca bowl which is a bed of quinoa topped with avocado, egg, spinach, and sweet potato. The dish sounds light but it is really filling. Pretty tasty for a vegan friendly type of dish.

Probably the best espresso I had during my short trip to Sydney but what topped this experience was the service. The guy in the cap was most accommodating of our obnoxiously large group of friends trying to breakfast at a place clearly designed for more intimate groupings. This place gets busy but the service is quick so the wait won't be so long. The gluten free bread is great as is the wild berry jam. Menu options are Australia standard - granola and yog, chia bowl, things on toast, buddha/poke/soul bowl thing. Flat white was a little weak to my taste but I'm discovering that asking for a double shot or 'strong' flat white is necessary in Australia to get something strong and smooth, otherwise you'll have a latte in a smaller cup.

Great spot for coffee and breakfast in the CBD. Friendly staff. The cafe gets very busy during business hours. I had a Mecca bowl with roasted vegetables, red quinoa, avocado and a boiled egg. A nice place to go for coffee catch ups with your colleagues

Mecca makes my mornings, so naturally it's my local. The staff are wonderful and extremely professional. They care about the coffee and it shows in how consistently amazing it is. They have an amazing menu of food that even health nuts will appreciate. The location adds to the atmosphere and the crowd is professional which makes it great for meetings.

Mecca is the godfather of specialty coffee in Sydney, and is a reliable place for amazing coffee and hospitality. I hadn't been to the Mecca Sydney cafe in a few years now, but went in last week to buy some beans. The baristas were very friendly and took the time to go through their personal favourites, as well as to give me suggestions based on my preferred flavour profiles, even though they were busy.

One of the best. There's no doubt that the Mecca Espresso boys produce one of the best coffee in Sydney CBD. Their special brewing method has attracted long queues. The latte that I had today was excellent. It had a beautiful after taste that is unique to the coffee bean that they have. This is one of my favourite coffee spots.

My husband and I tried the Hummus Toastie & Garlic Mushroom Sandwich. It was such a great meal that we decided to return back the next day. We also had iced latte (more milk) and the coffee tasted amazing. Staffs were very attentive and offered us water even when we did not ask. Coming from Wellington - considered the coffee capital of NZ - good coffee has been hard to come by here in Sydney. Mecca are consistently good - great coffee, good service and excellent poached eggs! Don't be put off by the long queue you might see at the entrance - it's a sign that I'm not the only one who things the coffee is amazing - the organisation these guys have in place are amazing and they get through the orders very quickly.

Best coffee in the CBD. Barista ran after me out on the road as I paid with a $5 note for my $4 coffee and left the $1 for tip without clearly saying it to him. Very honest and honourable. There are still honourable people in this world!

Hands down best coffee in Sydney. And although the menu isn't big each dish is made to perfection. Friendly staff. There's some seating and outdoors but undercover. They do have heaters. Update: I loved their avo on toast but they recently changed it. While its still nice, I really miss the original recipe with chilli oil etc. :(

I was in the area so I thought I'd try out Mecca. Had a flat white to-go. The barista was pleasant and friendly. The coffee tasted great. The place was packed but I got my coffee really quickly. There's a good chance I'll come back to try their baked items or sandwiches.

One of the best coffee places in the Sydney CBD. It has (almost) everything to love. - Great coffee brew (so you can have confidence not to have milk or soy milk) - Opens early in the morning - Can use beat the Q (which means less fumbling for cash and also you get a virtual stamp) I guess the almost part would be that it's busy (be prepared to wait, or come really early or really late), but that is a good thing because you know its good.

I ordered a flat white and took a seat in the cafe. After a few minutes, I decided I wanted food, so I went to order that as well. While waiting for my food, I realized that my coffee still hadn't come while my friends' have arrived, so I went to ask the barista/cashier. Apparently, they made it for take away, though I never ordered it. They remade it and my food (the mushroom dish) came. They were very good.

Coffee: Mecca (Dark Horse Blend) Passion: 10/10 Crema: 10/10 (Top 10 in Sydney) Coming to a cafe and getting schooled on what a coffee can do in the right hands is a wonderful thing. Having tried the Colombian single origin from Mecca before I made the mistake of bad mouthing it here, and was then delivered a fantastic coffee. Since then, I know that when I come here I’ll be served by someone with the passion to squeeze the best out of the beans. Today I started with a El Salvador Grand Reserve espresso which, in the words of Shoji “just tastes like coffee”. To be honest…. it did… It was robust, it was smooth, it was a whole lot of coffee, but it still kept something for the end. While not cutting through the aroma or the full body, as the flavours developed in the after-taste, a lighter, somewhat nuttier flavour appeared. Very enjoyable. I then grabbed the filter coffee of the day which was an Ethiopian Duromina. which started with an amazing spicy aroma, somewhat citrusy. As it opened up however, the flavour started to degenerate and leave a sour after-taste. While not a bad coffee, it was no where near as good as the El Sal. All up, this busy cafe is a brilliant representation of what Mecca beans can do. And by all accounts, that is a good thing indeed. N.B. There is #powerwhoring available inside towards the coffee bean display. No public WiFi available. Single origin coffees are always available

Mecca coffee. For those in the know, you know why you come here. For those that don't, its simple.... the coffee. From their espressos and double ristrettos to their lattes and cappaciinos, these guys are good, and they know it. These guys make one of the best coffees in sydney. They source their own beans, roast it to their style and are merticulous in their coffee making. I have to be honest, I havent tried their food to be able to comment on it, but that isn't why people come here. It is all about the coffee.
