Situated at the end of a row of bigger cafes and restaurants, this small shop packs a big punch. Sample is the name and the range (or samples) of the coffee are superb! Always something new, always well brewed, always open for a friendly chat. If you’re looking for a long black, this is the place to go!

A small little cafe in Surry Hills serving good coffee here for many years since I can remember probably almost a decade. Good coffee, friendly & pleasant staff. Been here many time they use their signature Pacemaker Espresso Blend for their black and milk coffee. The milk coffee have the tasting notes of Malteser, shortbread & vanilla. Other than coffee they sell some small bites like croissant, donuts, cookies & pastries. Good place for quick bites, light snacks and coffee catchup.

If you need to impress your fussy coffee connoisseurs, look now further! I usually come here for my strong macchiatos to help me to get through the day. One of my non coffee drinking mates (yes, they do exist....), was looking to get a bag of coffee for under $20. I got her one, and she rang me back saying it was love at first sight for her coffee connoisseur colleague. Colleague was so impressed that she had to ring up the place to get coffee beans delivered to her place monthly! It's a happy end isn't it?

Awesome coffee and croissants. They tend to sell out of pastries very early so you won't find much left to eat after around 10am. But this is a great coffee shop with reliable and tasty coffee.

Great stop on the way to work - even when I'm running through early in the morning. Good coffee though the piccolo can occasionally be a little darker than I'd prefer. Love to grab a batch brew or cold brew to go. Haven't had a chance to eat anything yet. Crew are very friendly. Space is small but cosy.

Nice funky coffee on Devonshire Street. The decor is white and minimal and clean. The coffee and food are fulfilling and the staff are really friendly but something is missing. By no means is it bad but it is not really memorable either.

A bunch of legends who are passionate about sourcing, roasting and brewing specialty coffee. The ham and cheese cheese croissants are great and the house made sea salt chocolate chip cookies are awesome! I’ve eaten 3 in a single day!

Coffee: Mecca (Pacemaker) Passion: 9/10 Crema: 9/10 Surry Hills is a tough place to set up a successful cafe if for no other reason than there are so many options already available, but these guys have done just that. More so, they have taken the education of coffee drinkers seriously, evidenced by everything from their name, the rotating showcase espressos and filter coffees, and the occasional "black Saturday" event that focuses on the flavors and aromas of black coffee. Today I started off with a filter coffee from Honduras (Cerro Azul) that was roasted here in the cafe to ensure the lighter flavors and aromas have a better chance of being espressed. While advertised as a spiced fruit cake, I got more sultana and less spice than I expected. Certainly needed to wait for it to cool down before I got much though. I then tried the 'showcase espresso' which was a Colombian single origin from the El Denisio farm, again roasted in house, that really performed well. With a touch of peach in the aroma and a jammy body, the slight brightness in the middle and a clean finish, this was a delicious coffee. So while there is a wide range of cafes in Surry Hills, this one is a cafe I'd happily recommend to anyone looking for a coffee experience. N.B. No #powerwhoring available No public WiFi available
