Comments of Shuk Elizabeth Bay
G. F.
I really love a brunch spot that has a point of difference and Shuk's Israeli inspired food ticks all the right boxes. Their signature bagel is terrific and my companion's Israeli Breakfast platter was a real feast for the eyes. Good service and even though busy we had very little wait. Looking forward to going back.

Every time I've visited with my friend, the food and coffee has been awesome. I recommend the bacon and egg roll or chicken schnitzel sandwich. The staff have always been very friendly, thank you for many great past and hopefully future experiences.
C. R.
Amazing food and great service. A new favourite!
M. K.
Great local cafe with good food and good coffee. Staff are always friendly.
You can go outside and watch the world go by or sit inside and soak up the atmosphere.
M. L.
Nice spacious cafe with good food but very disappointing service standard.
We arrived with nobody to greet us. The guy at the front coffee bar took a look at us but never acknowledged or said anything. We waited for awhile and come a waitress. No greeting either and no smile.
Shuk was half full. When we were ready to order I tried to wave to another waitress who was walking passed our table. She completely ignored me and not looking our way with a sour face. I tried a third waitress and finally a smile and who was happier working there than the previous two.
The coffee was quite ordinary so quite disappointing to me, but it was served quickly. The food was slow, we waited for about 40 minutes. The Kofta Beef with Salatim looked beautifully fresh. All the bits and pieces were very tasty, fresh and full of flavours with the exception of the roasted tomato, it needed more roasting time and not much flavours. The hummus was excellent but the beef kofta was too salty and overcooked, flavour was just ok. The flatbread although soft but disappointingly tasted quite bland.
The scrambled eggs was also very tasty and the falafel was outstanding! Definitely our favourite item. But again, the Turkish bread was soft but bland tasting.
All in all we like the food but very disappointed with the lousy service. The staff definitely need to be better trained and for the very least, be friendlier and more attentive. Perhaps we would give it another go to see if there’s any improvement in their service.

Great little spot tucked away in Elizabeth Bay. Not somewhere you'd naturally stumble upon, but worth seeking out. Quite a good selection of quality dishes at reasonable prices. Good wine list too, was happy with the selections all round.🍷The hummus could have been punchier but the felafels were nice and crispy served with a delicious sauce, the Barramundi full of flavour 🐟 and the roast chicken quite succulent 🐔 Service was really great as well, friendly and responsive. We will go back, for sure 👍

Nice ambience and delicious food they have a delightful variety for breakfast, if you have thought of visiting Shuk, don't wait and try their yummy menu next time you're looking for a place to have brunch.

A cool find that was recommended to us by a local.
Placed in a residential area it doesn't have any real street appeal nor view to it but move pass that and you will enjoy tasty Israeli dishes, great service and reasonable prices.
S. S.
Same great food you would expect from Shuk Bondi! However there were flies inside near the kitchen which was a bit annoying. Recommend you ask for a table outside!
L.
cozy vibes, lots pastries, menu.
T. X.
Great coffee, very taste. Fast service and friendly staff. Nice outdoor environment
A. R.
Good food and an enjoyable experience until we went to pay. We felt ignored as they took on customer orders behind us. We just wanted to pay for a good meal and clear the table for the next guest.
J.
Great find!
The service was quick and efficient and the food was extremely tasty. Would highly recommend!
S. B.
Came in to grab a coffee and a pastry whilst on my Sunday morning walk with my dog. The service was very quick and friendly. I was served by the little blonde lady, who made me feel welcomed. The coffee tasted lovely along with the fresh pastry. Defiantly come back again for the lunch menu. Thanks.
C. B.
The food and smoothies were amazing, the shashuka was top notch and falafel was seriously the best I've had, plus it's dog friendly outside.
R.
Coffee and pastries are excellent, I normally will go to the North Bondi one, but this branch is also very good! Well done
l.
Food was good - falafel with hard boiled egg was nice, however the baked eggs were over cooked. Service wasn’t great, had to wait a long time before the food came out.
D. K.
Always when behind the wheel I get here and order their Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich. It is amazing! If I don't have it for a week I miss it! When my friends on honeymoon in Sydney tried it they made me bring them to Shuk every day!
Thank you guys for always being friendly and for your Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich!
A. G.
The food is good. No doubt about it. The service needs some work. Been there three times now and they always get some part of the order wrong. Has a long way to go to be as good as the Bondi shop. But still, I’ll go back for the food.
A. S.
I couldn't speak more highly of this place. I came in for breakfast and was welcomed very friendly by all staff. Choosing what to order was very difficult as there are so many delicious choices. I finally decided on The Israeli breakfast which was absolutely amazing. 10 out of 10.
The service was very professional and attentive. My expectations were very well exceeded by the staff at Shuk, Elizabeth bay. They really do go out their way to make sure my breakfast experience was perfect.
Ps. If your a coffee person, this is defiantly the place to start your day. The decoration on top of my cappuccino brought a big smile to my face.
K.
Delish, fresh and traditional Middle eastern food. Great service!
J. C.
Outstanding, great middle eastern food and excellent service. Will be back tomorrow
A. K.
Great Place!
Just travelling here for a few days! I am very glad to find a good place for breakfast! I was here yesterday and came back today again! Love the food and coffee here! Great customer serving!
Should I come back tomorrow morning? Haha, maybe pack some home 😂
M. P.
Friendliest staff & great Coffee & food. Every time ✔
J.
Always delicious
A. P.
This place serves great food and bakes beautiful breads!
M. M.
Nice place, quiet, big breakfast. We really enjoyed. You can order from your phone in the app.
A. K.
Generally good here. Things do get busy so it can be difficult sometimes. Never had complaints. Their main dishes are on the simpler side (think protein and veg, but make it fancy), still a very good combination of flavours and quality as well.
A. J.
Friendly staffs and nice foods, try Jewish breakfast! :-)
J. V.
Good place for breakfast but the service and friendliness of staff is non existent. We came in on Friday June 19 around 11:15 Am. Not one staff acknowledged our presence. Not a smile, a thank you or anything. I was astonished as how angry they all look. They should be happy and thankful they got a job in this COVID-19 Crisis.
K. P.
Love this place. Delicious food served with a distinct middle eastern influence. Generous servings, plenty of choice including vegetarian options. All reasonably priced. And on your way out the door you can pick up a loaf of fresh baked bread to take home with you.
E. C.
Food is great, I loved it every time, but service still has A LOT to improve. I have never felt welcome there, I don’t know if I always go there in a bad day for the staff, or because I’m a student, but they are always cold, not friendly, most of the times I have to go to the counter to pay and last time the cashier didn’t even said a word, just the amount, I paid and she gave her back to me, no “hi”, no “thanks”, nothing. I think that’s basic of a place that really cares about the customer service.
K. S.
The Bacon and Egg roll was amazing - could feed 2 people easily, love that they are generous with serving size - it tasted good as well. I was having food envy as everyone else's dish also looked good - certainly will be back again.
L. W.
Nice food, however my friend booked and when we arrived at the booked time, the walk-ins before us got a table inside and we were given the worst spot outside that didn't have shade. We asked if there were any better tables since we booked, but it was packed (pre-covid) so our experience was soured.
A. S.
We had the Israelian breakfast and the traditional Shashuka, both were so yum!! Coffee was amazing too. Staff are super friendly, great atmosphere! I like that it is a bit tucked away from the main streets, it's quiet and relaxing but with a great vibe and liveliness about the place. Will defo be back!
K. L.
Everyone raves about the shakshuka but I wasn't a fan. Super salty!
M. W.
Had lovely, relaxed lunch at shuk. I had the chicken skewers plus salad. My wife went for the shakshuka. Both were very tasty. Social distancing was very good.
L. M.
Good mix of breakfast and lunch foods, and have never been disappointed with the food - shakshuka and hummus both fantastic and filling alongside their in house sourdough and flatbread. Sandwiches are a good choice for the more price conscious (as other dishes can get pricey quickly with add-ons).
S. M.
I live next to Shuk in Bondi and work near the one in Elizabeth Bay. They are always my go to, when I want something delicious. I love their coffee, the pastries and the breakfast bowl is amazing!
J. A.
By far our favorite cafe in Sydney. We consistently order their Shakshuka and the Hummus with Lamb, but have plate envy any time we walk by another table! They do takeaway coffees and pastries as well. Good for taking on a walk through Rushcutters Bay Park afterwards.
This place is a must if you're looking to show your friends a great brunch in Sydney. But be prepared to wait at least 10 minutes during lunch hour!
G. L.
Delightful little cafe on a pretty tree lined street. As the name suggests, absolutely try the Shakshuka! They have several varieties of this delicious breakfast concoction and each is worth a go. They also have several other brekkie and lunch options so there's variety of you want it. Prompt and friendly service.
j. b.
The best Shakshuka in Sydney hands down
O. F.
Have been there a couple of times now. Food is good but the service needs improvement.
A. T.
The vegan shakshuka is delicious! Thank you for including vegan protein (tofu) as part of your vegan breakfast option. I wish other restaurants did the same. Avo on toast only gets you so far! ♥️
C. S.
Great and welcome eatery to Elizabeth Bay. Great selection of meals and drinks. Their food fresh and tasty. Can get a little cold in winter outside so dresh warm.
A. W.
They say the best experience is a combination of great service and quality tasting food (& Coffee.....) and from my experience, Shuk does both of those extremely well. 6/5
P. M. D.
Our absolute fave local coffee shop. Lovely staff, international vibes, causing us near bankruptcy though as we can’t help going every day! Sometimes twice! :))))
C. L.
Shuk Elizabeth Bay is everything it’s sister in Bondi is famous for. Their pastries and coffee for breakfast in the morning are the best, and I’ve never had better hummus in my life.
F. A.
¡Great food!
A very nice place where to go either for a great coffee, breakfast or lunch. Staff is so friendly and food is fantastic.
W. C.
Tried this place out for breakfast after a great lunch at the Chatswood shop.... it was even better!
The Black Rice breakfast and zucchini fritters were great.... we had a great family meal!
S. B.
Love Shuk in Bondi and was not disappointed with the new location. Lovely space, and the food is fantastic. Staff was very friendly. Will definitely be back again soon.
F. F.
Really nice café with lovely food. The staff is super lovely, too.
N. Y.
The food is amazing, but the service is terrible and the staff are rude and unwelcoming.
The Bondi store is a lot more fun to visit.
J. W.
The shredded chicken sandwich was great and the staff were very welcoming. Will definitely visit again.
T. C.
Wonderful welcome edition to our local neighbourhood cafe scene. Outstanding middle eastern food and coffeee in a fresh vibrant restaurant. Highly recommended.
C.
Really good food. Flavour was authentic. Great price for the portions and quality ingredients.
M. M.
Amazing new spot! Had a ladies brunch here and we really enjoyed both the food and the service. Will be back!
N. B.
Good location. Mediocre food. Long wait for food and coffee. The staff are rude and seemed to be walking around just looking very confused.
P.
Excellent food experience with a range of interesting and tasty Israeli/Middle Eastern inspired dishes in a relaxed and airy location.
J. M. -. D.
We live across the road and there is hardly a day where you won’t see us there. Coffee is great, love the Shakshuka with sujuc and the staff is always lovely.
