Sydney CBD was still sleeping when I entered SKITTLE LANE at 7:30 o’clock in the morning. I loved the minimalistic interior design. From the outside you can spot immediately the massive. long black marble bench for the espresso machines and the grinders and a long wooden booth seating with additional wooden stools, made from one piece. The colors matched perfectly, and the textures of the different surfaces of the wood and the marble underlined the craftmanship of specialty coffee. I ordered my first PICCOLO, an espresso topped with a bit of steamed milk. The barista did a fantastic job. He textured and poured the milked well and I truly enjoyed the strong coffee flavors cutting through the milk. Their house espresso comes from Colombia – La Falda: Huila; Caturra, Castillo, Colombia, washed. As you know my drill by now, I also had a filter coffee. Batch brew is commonly available in many cafés throughout Australia, as at Skittle Lane. Therefore, I had another Colombian coffee, this time as a filter roast. It tasted sweet and juicy with a long-lasting lingering finish. I also appreciated the attention to details when it comes to the cup. The surface was smooth, the handle made the cup easy to grab and you could even hold it in both hands: warm and cozy. Side note: one additional, tiny little detail: the toilet has an interesting system to save water. Once you flush the toilet, you can use the water running into the toilet to wash your hands. That is a cool feature to be more sustainable.

Beautiful stylish Japanese (or Scandi?) minimalistic interior design. Great multi-level sitting area, which adds an extra twist to the spirit of the coffee place. This place is about coffee and the coffee culture! Skittle Lane buy coffee in small batches and roast themselves. This particular roast style was not my "cup of coffee" as I felt it was a bit understated. In saying that, I can see how many people will love it. Last but not the least : All packaging is recyclable and eco-friendly. Mugs!!! Speciality clay mugs designed to enjoy every sip of coffee.

My first time at Skittle Lane. Just fell in love with their piccolo. The best piccolo I’ve ever had. It literally just made my day. The cold brew was nice too. And I ordered a ‘toasted sandwich’. Actually it’s not a sandwich to me. It tasted like 🍕 Soooo goooooood! The food choices were limited but you MUST try this ‘toasted sandwich’. It’s a little coffee spot without outdoor dinning area but the whole vibe of the store was great. The baristas played some Drake songs while I was having my coffee & food. 😇😍

Best coffee in the city, the long black is faultless, smooth yet complex. They have a great set up with giant wooden steps you can sit on if you have a while to enjoy your caffeine hit to cool music. Also a range of giant (literally gargantuan) cookies and simple sandwiches.

Good coffee place in the cbd. Quiet place as it’s a little bit hidden between office buildings. I came in quite late in the afternoon and the cafe was packed with customers. Simplistic and minimal decor but aesthetic. However their coffee is quite average compared to my taste. I ordered a cold brew and a latte for takeaway. The latte milk froth was a tad bit hot at first sip. Cold brew was strong enough but had a bitter aftertaste which I didn’t enjoy. I would prefer cold brew with a sour fruity aftertaste. Other than that, service was good. Staff were friendly and payment was contactless so quick and efficient. Service: 5/5 Coffee: 3/5 Overall: 4/5 ⭐️

Second place I hit this morning after Mecca coffee. Wish I had come first. Don’t get me wrong, both were awesome. Skittle lane had a much smoother coffee that I would prefer first thing in the morning. Where as Mecca’s coffee packs a punch so I would want that later in the day. This is one of the best cafes in Sydney CBD. There's always people coming and going so it might be busy but service is fast and they really care about producing high quality coffees. The staff are friendly and non pretentious so order whatever style coffee that you like. They make incredible choc chip cookies, they're massive, chewy and stuffed with dark chocolate. Highly recommended for those with a sweet tooth!

This minimalist, speciality coffeeshop lies a short walk away from the busy Pitt St mall crowds. Friendly baristas and a decent amount of strength in its coffee, what I find interesting is the layout. The communal timber seating stacked on levels gives a casual, yet therapeutic vibe. Now, that's a coffee! This place serves happiness in a cup for coffee lovers. No extravagance and a bit grey at first sight, yet very warm welcoming, quick service and amazingly delicious coffee! I totally enjoyed every sip of my oat latte (they don't have almond milk but honestly, it didn't impact on my experience at all). My fav coffee joint in the cbd. The quality is so high and the place is so hip and on point but without an ounce of pretentiousness. The staff and the owner are so professional and quick to get you your coffee, they’re also welcoming and appreciate that you appreciate their coffee. Small but relaxing atmosphere perfect for a quick coffee surrounded by flowers and beautiful big window to enjoy and also escape the city.

Very good technique on soy latte - however from an aesthetic standpoint the wooden seats may need a refurbish - as it is getting worn down. vibe is very cool and I almost felt the baristas were too cool. But they ended up all being really friendly. Good CBD coffee spot.

The staff here knows many of us which is always nice and makes us felt welcomed. You will have to scan the covid QR if you wanna stay in and have a chat but otherwise it works like normal. The best Flat White for a regular, or a coffee connoisseur drinker. Always consistent in it's rich Cocoa flavour tones, with a slight cherry notes that follows. Also a good place for Espresso.
