I finally made it to the home of Charlotte, Carlos, and Simon: TOBY’S ESTATE. I had the pleasure to visit their brand-new shop in Sydney CBD. The interior design was stunning; again, very sleek and minimalistic with a beautiful, solid white and black marble bench for the espresso machine and the grinder. Everything is looking bright, shiny, and luxurious. Today, I went for a double espresso from El Salvador (San Jose) produced by Gloria Mercedes Rodriguez Fontan: Bourbon, washed with flavor notes of toffee, raspberry, and fruit mince tart. I enjoyed the chat with the Swedish barista. It is always nice to discuss different cultural coffee backgrounds and to see how coffee is consumed around the world. For example, while Sweden is a filter coffee country, coffee drinkers in Switzerland are more into long blacks (we call it Café Crème) or cappuccinos with chocolate powder. Of course, we also had a big laugh about how often Sweden and Switzerland gets mixed up. But that is fine, both countries are small and beautiful, and full of snow at this very moment. Thanks a lot for the great hospitality and the tasty espresso.

I can’t imagine they still sold beans that were roasted almost 20 days ago. I mean it locates in CBD with so many customers per day! Cool hole in the wall place in the middle of the city. The coffee is great and there is a large selection of sweets. We tried the banana bread and it was really nice. Highly recommend!

Recently changed to Toby's Estate. A hidden café with neat and tidy seating. Suitable for a private coffee break away from the humdrum of office and busyness of shopping area. I've grabbed coffee here for a walk into Hyde Park North. Can be a bit windy in lane way at times. Service good and quick. Wheelchair accessible.

Oh I really liked this petite hole in the wall cafe . It is in a non windy laneway entering Westfields behind Prada, and facing Christian Louboutin and Gucci. Heaven! Blink and you will miss it however a brilliant spot for people watching. The coffee served is Toby's Estate and my coffee was hot and thoroughly enjoyable. The staff were fast and friendly. Next time I would like to try the food. There is some seating against the wall, which - if you have the time, take a spot and watch the world go by.

I call this cafe - Hole in the wall but my partner prefers to refer to it as Prada cafe! I hope both titles are enough to give you the location as it's hidden but totally worth the hunt. The 'flat white' is an aussie favourite and well made here.
