Good coffee, good food, and friendly service. These guys are one of my go to places for a morning or afternoon coffee. Had a sit down lunch here with colleagues yesterday. The service from your new employee (Irish guy, afraid I can't remember his name) was stellar! We really enjoyed the food as well.

I got a takeaway fettuccine carbonara for the first time recently and it was very good with the bonus for me being that I wasn't regretting my choice about halfway through because of the carbonara either being too creamy or the bacon overwhelming the dish. At $18 for a takeaway lunch in the city it's not a realistic everyday option for me but it was a nice once every couple weeks switch to my normal options.

Turned up before the official lunch hour, but it was no problem. Service was excellent, and the Gnocci Ragu (Lamb) just terrific.

Great breakfast - fantastic scrambled eggs on toast.

Staff are friendly and attentive. Coffee selection is excellent. Recommend the dirty Sicilian if you like mochas. Food is consistent and we'll cooked. Favourite is the crispy skin salmon. ($25) Could do with some sound baffling as it is very noisy and echos in almost all of the seats. Hard to hear over the kitchen dining sometimes.

The perfect place to have morning coffee. It has its own blended variety options with the regular cappuccino and Mocha. If you are drowsy, then their espresso shot is the best. Must try 👍🏻

Great service. It was full when I got there at 12:30 and they made us really comfortable with a glass of wine at the counter until a table came up. Food great. Have the salmon. Wine was soft and the espresso at the end was strong enough to get me back to work. Atmosphere was a highlight, all the staff were friendly and the bloke running the show made you feel like you were part of the family. Full marks.

The food and drink are very good. Their "Dirty Sicilian" is the most outrageously decadent hot chocolate you'll ever have. One staff member lets the place down with this try-hard humour and theatrics. Seriously, how many times will asking customers "Are you just here for coffee today or are you here to get fat" actually lands well? And ask for some sauce or other condiment so you can be judged with "I will get that for you do you can ruin your fries!". 😒

On a bit of a dull street so it earns (and deserves) a living from regulars. Excellent coffee (even for Sydney). Really good sandwiches and lunch-type dishes. Service with a smile and a quick step.

The mornings are super busy at vicolo but the coffee is definitely worth the wait. If you're feeling a little dusty from the night before - hit up the bacon and egg pannini, it's delicious! Great spot and always amazing service.

As I travel from Melbourne to Sydney occasionally, this is my go to spot every time. Best coffee, great service and very affordable brunch menu. The quality of the food (I.e. Yolk in eggs) is a highlight to the chefs using only the finest ingredients. Plus it is conveniently located. 5th star for not being a hustle and bustle cafe, you can actually get some peace and zen for a little time out session, to catch-up on emails, news or instagram.

Centrally located on Kent Street, relative newcomer Vicolo is doing very good coffee, lunches as well as Friday night Apertivo with a heavy (and authentic) Italian focus. Featuring a slew of unique coffee options that pair the excellent black with ice, lemon, condensed milk or cinnoto all at a great price point compared to neighboring establishments ($3 regular take-away, ~$4 for exotic orders). Ordered the Mazgran (long black, ice, lemon) which was a fantastic rich icy cold coffee with a lemon twist to finish - very refreshing. Colleague had the ice honey latte, which was reported to be "not too sweet or milky - just right". Food menu looks very enticing and well priced when seeing the serving sizes. Service was prompt, friendly and excellent. A new favourite.

These guys do great coffee and delicious muffins. I haven't tried a lot of their food, but what I have tried was really good. The staff are always friendly and remember my name and usual order. They're often busy during peak coffee time, but no more than a couple minute wait. And if you want a table, I'd recommend booking ahead.
