Go here about 2 or 3 times a week to get chips, the small chips is more than enough for just me and they are really well priced and perfectly salted. There's 1 younger guy there and a lady who are both really friendly and nice, always asks how my day was and has a chat, but there's also an older guy who is just plain rude and racist and another guy with glasses who doesn't stop staring at me when I go in. Great place for a feed though. Would recommend

My local & great quality food. A little $$$ for fish and chips but that seems the norm now. Nice family who run it very friendly. Cash only which can be annoying but still I think it’s the best quality around

Once again i was very satisfied with the battered salmon, fat scallops and chips lastnight, the service and deco’r is homely and welcoming, with that touch of kiwiness and greeting me in māori eeven !! And its real! There is an easence of a friendly family style feelng about the shop and their family owned business, i have tasted a few battered fish around Darwin eateries 🙄🤫🙄 and these people here know their stuff! , A batter that is crispy and full, but yet not heavy, like a coating of floured glass that would cut your lip if you dont hold your tounge right 🤔you do😬,.. like the hyped up proud beer batter that many other take aways and resturants pride themselves in producing , yeh nahh🙄🙄🙄 kaare te tahi !, (thats not the way ). this place cooks like most NZ places do , That batter and how it is fried is a skill to posess. Rightly famous in Darwin - Exceptionally good fish, And the chips are usually just as good. Especially - the Barra ! Generous sized pieces. However, a bit more expensive than most other F&C shops, but there is a difference. Also have salads, and cold drinks. There are a few tables & chairs. Generally, no problem with parking. Phone orders taken. NOTE - does not accept Cards - Strictly Cash. Highly recommended.

Had the battered barra, it was beautiful. Not overcooked. The barra was soft and sweet to eat. Chips were cooked beautifully. My husband had the crab salad and was very impressed with it. Very yummy to eat. Price of the food was reasonable. Especially when the food is cooked beautifully.

Highly recommend the crumbed barra over the battered option. Although from a frozen pack, the calamari rings are made of actual calamari instead of a flour mixture that you don't know what the contents are - it can get a bit chewy for some who don't enjoy that texture. Slightly pricey for the food but good portions. Only accepts cash for payment so make sure you have enough in hand.

The fish and chips are great. There's a good selection of other items to choose from as well. They get very busy towards late afternoon so if you don't like waiting I'd recommend phoning your order in.

I think 3 stars out of five is fair. After searching google for the best fish and chips in Darwin and reading the other reviews we drove out to Nightcliff to give it a shot. Gourmet is a bit of a stretch, I mean we didnt even get a wedge of lemon. I'd say the quality is comparable with Stokes Wharf so if you're in the city I would stay local. The prices of the combos were on the heavier side as well. A bit of a let down after reading the other reviews.

Having lived in Victoria and NSW, you get the appreciation of a good traditional fish n chip shop - namely must be run by Greeks!! This shop is awesome - non assuming, no fuss just awesome fish and chips. I've always found them to be polite, quick (no matter how busy they are) and food is always of a high standard, with an extra potato cake or scallop thrown in. Highly recommended and easilly the best fish and chips in Darwin - also one of the most reasonably priced ones around!

Okay so whats so special about this place???!!! Freshness!!! let me tell you value for money will be blow away (Literally). For $6.00, large chips are large chips (to feed for 2 people). The difference is the actual freshness of how its cooked, most other joints always cut corners by using the same oil to cook fish and chips in the one area. Once you taste it, it can be quite fowl, still edible but yuk!. However with this place, i'm telling you, bam, you will like it guaranteed! (the fish and chips are cooked separately , or the oil is changed daily) Go try for yourself and let others know!
