Great food and amazing views! We loved the rustic, honest, relaxing environment and it was exactly what we were after in the gorgeous mountain setting! We had dinner there and ordered the green Thai curry, pie and pizza and all were great and full of flavour! We were staying across the road and walked over for dinner and would recommend to anyone. We were a party of 4 adults and a 4 month old.

A great stop in Moina on the way to or from Cradle Mountain NP. A good old country pub, well maintained. Chef on-site during the day, so we had no issue getting a meal outside standard food service hours. A young lad behind the bar was friendly and helpful but had no idea about alcohol... so I ended up with beer instead of cider. Beware! Other than that a really reasonable service for a small country town.

Food is good portion but only serve comfort food. Frozen store bought fish and seafood and deep fried. Not recommended. Stay is disappointing given the high price. Wall is very thin you can literally hear everything from your next room. Virtually no room service. Staff is a bit unprofessional and rude.

The whole experience was so strange. Inn manager/staff were not friendly, but polite. The room was clean, but there was no mobile reception nor free wi-fi was offered. We were asked if we wanted any breakfast, but they ran out most of stuff on their menu and were told that chef was running late. They also served the worst coffee we had in Tas, but breakfast was fine. We have the impression that the inn was run by a caretaker family that pretended that they were not family...... So strange....

The grounds and facilities needs some maintenance. No phone coverage other then 1 bar of Telstra if you are lucky, should offer wifi and people must ask as so many signs saying no wifi. Food was amazing and hardworking staff.

Absolutely awesome food! Loved the Nachos, definately worth trying. We arrived later in the afternoon and the chef had already gone home, so we had a lovely lady there make us all the food. Even though she didn't know much about the kitchen, she did an amazing job and worked very hard for us. I would definitely go there again 😁

We arrived in the afternoon, tried to order the wood fired pizza. The waitress said it should be for dinner only on that day but she said she will asked the chef. The chef agreed to heated up the pizza oven. We order salmon pizza. Incredible! The pizza size is huge, topping is very generous (quite thick filling) and taste so delicious. Thank you for letting us to have the beautiful wood fire pizza.

First time at a place like this, scenery was nice. We just had takeaway coffee, the guy was nice. But honestly we felt a bit unfriendly not by the staff but the whole environment. Great spot in the wilderness of Cradle Mountain surrounded by birds chirping and at dusk you'll hear animals roaming around the cottage. Accommodation is in a self contained cottage. It's simple but has all amenities needed including kitchen. The restaurant makes great food judging by the awesome pizza we had.

We had a family meal there recently. Even though the meal selection was limited and the hours reduced due to COVID restrictions, the food was amazingly good. The Lamb curry was outstanding and the handmade pizzas - especially the goats cheese and salmon one - would be some of the best pizzas we've ever had. Forget going into Cradle Mountain for busy restaurants with overpriced food and come here instead.

very humble accommodation and was definitely more than i was expecting! loved the stay HOWEVER be aware there is no phone reception or any available wifi - this is due to the isolated location BUT dont fret, its a great location, situated close by to Cradle Mountain and much more affordable in comparison to the lodgings on cradle mountain. as for the food - i would be more than happy to return back here for a meal! being the only restaurant in town they actually serve up a very tasty meal! i got their burgers and steak burger which i could not fault in any way! this place might be out of the way, but if ur driving by its def a place to stop by for food!

Great base for walking holidays in and around Cradle Mountain. Hearty meals at a decent price with a warm welcome. Lovely grounds with active wildlife, with peaceful, cool cabins. Our cabin was a little tired I’m some places but perfectly suitable for a good night’s sleep and refuel.

What can I say? Wow wee. The experience has left a long lasting memory with me. Tonight being the end of 2018, would of been one of the best nights I've had in ages. Great food. And the staff are just amazing. I can truly say I've made new friends not just eaten at a restaurant. For me I give the entire experience a solid 11 out of 10. There is a great view from the balcony and the surrounding grounds are just amazeballs. I want to go back. Would recommend in a heart beat.

What a fabulous place. A rustic mountain inn with a cosy cabin was just what we wanted after a hard days hiking. The whole experience was authentically Tasmanian, unpretentious and reasonably priced. The meals were hearty. The wine was good. The accommodation was spacious and warm. The staff were friendly and we just never wanted to leave. This was our favourite place on our holiday. It was also the cheapest price wise. We will be back. Never change a thing Cradle Forest Inn - you are perfect just the way you are.

Attended the for lunch whilst driving through the area. Was pleasantly surprised by the variety of the menu and the quality of the food. We ordered a woodfired pizza which was larger than anticipated and will made from quality ingredients (the roasted garlic cloves were delicious). The vegetarian lasagna was also pretty good and was an extremely generous serving. The coffee was also very good.

After a rainy afternoon, our tent flooded leaving us with no place to sleep at Cradle Mountain. We called the Cradle Forest Inn at 8pm hoping that they were open (as all other places had been closed!) and the lovely receptionist waited back for us to arrive after travelling down the mountain. Thanks to the Cradle Forest Inn for being open, we were in a tight spot!

This is my second visit back to the Cradle Forest Inn and I am so glad I returned. The location is fantastic and is in my opinion the best feed just off Cradle Mountain base. There is a scenic balcony eating area behind the restaurant front and gives you a forest dining experience to remember with its lush green trees, cabin in the distance with the mountains trimming the horizon. The food options are diverse but the choice was easy for me: woodfire pizza and Nachos! The Pumpkin and Ricotta Pizza tasted phenomenal, really flavour packed cheese and pizza was cooked to perfection in a visible wood fire oven as can be seen from outside. Nachos were crunchy and addictive to munch on. To top it all off, the service from the kind brunette lady with curly hair was receptive, kind and pleasant all around. She was very helpful and ensuring we had enough space for our meal and checked on us courteously also. Her smile was infectious as was personality. This is a highly recommended lunch option to check out before your hike on the iconic mountain not too far away. 😉

Most impressed! Had expected exorbitant prices, but really it was very competitive and friendly! Food was incredibly nice, pizza, ribs, wine,... Most friendly staff too. The cabins are private and well appointed, safe parking, green surrounds - with a few domestic cats :( Comfy bathroom and convenient kitchenette too. Would love to return! Romantic location with communal fireplace. Fifteen minutes drive from Lemonthyme Lodge, maybe half an hour drive from Cradle Mountain NP.

Beautiful little place, but what really bowled us over was the “OUTSTANDING” quality of the food here. Coming from Sydney we are used to gormet food of the highest standard but were totally unprepared for the gastronomic delights coming from the Kitchen here. If you are a food lover, expect nothing but the very best from Colin the head chef here who I am sure would be quite at home in any of Sydney’s Top restaurants.

Enjoyed two nights at this place and enjoyed it immensely. The quality of the accommodation was excellent in design and comfort. The restaurant & bar service was also very good provided by very friendly hosts. A lovely setting and ambience about the place with nice and very private chalets. If any drawback it is purely the lack of WiFi and TV which apparently is a fault not of the owners doing but the government having turned off old services with no new service available to replace. I would still be very happy to recommend the place.

I stopped in for a coffee on my Tasmanian adventure to the amazing Cradle Forest Inn, served by Danielle and Luke I was wrapped by the service I received and the excellent chat I had with them all! An amazing coffee was brewed with a special honey chai that took me by surprise as one of the best coffees I have had till date! The Cradle forest inn took me in as a welcomed guest with a very homely feeling along with excellent music pumped out by their cool sound system. If you are passing by, you cannot miss this place! Definitely try the coffee and their coconut slice too.

Excellent cabins with all amenities and beds that are actually comfortable. This place will appeal to you if you want to be in a quiet cabin in the middle of nowhere and fall asleep to the sound of wind and trees. If you prefer DVDs you can watch on the DVD player or cable tv with some channels not blocked and food and petrol less than 30min away, you won't like this place. The Scottish woman who seems to run it is not too friendly or welcoming either, and there are an astounding number of rules posted everywhere for the requirements to claim the very narrow window for dinner or breakfast at the attached bar/restaurant.

The Signboard shows Moina Tavern Cradle Chalet when I stopped here for lunch before going up to Cradle Mountain. I saw some guests walking around. I ordered charcoal oven baked pizzas which were hot and crispy.The decoration of the place looks like a log cabin with many wooden furniture. A nice place however the service was a bit slow.

Ate at the restaurant. A cozy log cabin in the woods. Self proclaimed the 'last value for money before cradle mountain'. This was very true. Paid $25 for a massive plate of delicious Texas ribs and wedges whereas 10 minutes down the road, you would pay $10 for a takeaway pie.
