My partner and I shared a waffle fries, a sloppy Joe and their classic beef burger and we were so impressed by the flavours. I'd go as far as to say it was the best burger Ive had in Melbourne. Staff are friendly and service was very quick!

Okay Melbourne, for a good night out with some great burgers and a set of cocktails and beers, please head to @beerandburgerbar in Richmond. Quite possibly the best burger I've ever had. Perfect touch of spicy. Not so Simple, But a good straight forward menu. Small but nice selection of craft beers. The friendly staff makes some great cocktails and suchhh juicyy burgers, that you would hate to resist ! Flavourful, fresh ingredients well mixed with a homemade touch. How hard is to describe the ONION Rings , DON'T die before you try it! We tried the K-POP , its their ‘NOT for the weak Palate Burger’ and they do that for good reason because this is very much the real deal. You love the Spice?! You’l want to get it served it all and this isn't just about the spice because their chilli oil and other toppings are out of this world. Makes it a POP burger TBH. Anddd the Piggy Smalls, just the name is smalls rest, Since these guys have been in the burger scene for a while now their burger are top notch and very consistent. The Pulled pork burger is a very asian inspired burger comes with crackling pork flavours, with all the toppings which allows you to build it as you see fit. They also do great selections of sides and some Amazing Cocktails , The Mac and cheese balls are so so goood, and all sorts of wonderful cocktails by gina. I am absolutely in for their Watermelon Margaritas and defo going back for them! If you’re a true burger aficionado then you’ll love the chance to devour their delicious burgers!!

Really recommend their burger, one of the best in Melbourne so far. I ordered B. O. B and watermelon margarita. You can see the food volume from the picture. They're really juicy and yummy. Southern fried chicken are really crispy. My friend tried their lamb burger a couple of years ago but now it disappears from the menu. What a pity! Must be awesome too.

I ordered The Pork burger with chips. It comes with pulled pork, cabbage slaw, apple relish, crackling, grilled pineapple and aioli. The pulled pork was a little dry and chewy for me but everything else was wonderful. The bun is nice and soft and there was good amount of sauce. Chips are great too, well seasoned. Good prices. Burger was $16 and to make it a combo with regular chips additional $3.

Great place for a beer and burger. Both were good, particularly the stomping ground IPA. No reservations so first come first serve. Both times I have been there I had to wait. There are a couple of seats at the bar and some outside. Service was excellent, you order food and drink at the bar. They have beef chicken, lamb and pulled pork burgers. As well as chicken wings, which weren't that good and onion rings which were better. The fries were great.

A Richmond favourite when you're craving that late night burger. The burgers are flavoursome and cooked freshed in front of you in the open kitchen and there is a decent range of beers. Service is quick and friendly and there is plenty of seating available which is ideal for group catchups.

You’d think the hype has died down in Richmond after the Tigers massive win in the Grand Final a few months ago. Not a chance. Especially when spaces like the Beer & Burger Bar exist in the heart of this AFL obsessed inner suburb. Their recent revamp sees a completely new fit out, with pink & green artwork and neons that light up the streamlined venue, and a canteen style counter. Kudos to Ryan Kurban for not only creating a welcoming place, but one that caters for us folks who suffer FOMO when we see those epic burger challenges. There are 19 to choose from, and from what I can taste, the focus is undoubtedly on flavour. I’ll leave the 3.5kg burgers to the experts, and stick to The Classic Beef, which my hands wrap around seamlessly.

Great food, fresh ingredients. On arrival our reserved table was not available, didn't really matter the staff were very obliging as were other customers, a bit of juggling and we had a table. The kitchen is extremely busy, well organised, the chefs send out food with what appears with no stress. Worth a visit. I will be back again.

The beast burger was huge, very tasty but huge!! A good quality burger. I wish I had a smaller burger! The table has cutlery and napkins, a good set up. The menu items are a fair price, being not over priced for what you get. They have TVs so you can catch most sporting events on a weekend. A decent feed, would recommend if you're peckish and in the area.

Love the vibe at Beer and Burger bar! I tried their home brew beer which is actually delicious. There are also AMPLE vegan options. I love the Eggplant burger - so yummy :) The team is super friendly too. Super close to Richmond station, great location!

If you haven’t been here, do yourself a favor and get on down. The burgers are simply excellent. A very popular venue especially during the footy, so choose your dining time wisely as there isn’t heaps of seating. The menu seems to change a little which is a good change of pace for a burger restaurant. The selection of changing beers is great too

I have just finished a 10 month trip and these burgers are one of the things I missed most. Had a beef burger and it was perfect. The sweetness of the beetroot, the handmade patty, the perfect combination of condiments. Would recommend to everyone! (The BOB burger is also well worth a crack). The staff are always really nice too and they have a good variety of beers on tap. PS the malteser milkshake is also very yum!

I will travel anywhere for a real American style burger, and the 600km trip for this one was worth it. Definitely THE best burger I've had in Australia. I love how there are a couple of specialty burgers that change every few weeks or so. I had the beef and pulled pork (can't remember the quirky name it had) and it was a ten out of ten. It's a favourite burger joint om Swan St. Food is delicious, a variety of burgers including chicken, beef and vegetarian options. Reasonably priced too. A good selection of beer on tap as well as bottled beer available. Staff are friendly and nice and the service is efficient. They have changed the interior decoration of the place recently (over 7 weeks ago) and I actually prefer the how it used to look! A nice vibe and a good mixed crowd of people. Not a huge fan of the DJ pumping music on a Friday night but luckily it's not the same one, so it could sound better on the ears later in the evening.

Guaranteed best burgers in Melbourne. Well under priced for the tender juicy burger you're getting. The eggplant chips are surreal and are a guaranteed recommendation - along with the whole eatery for anyone looking for a beautiful meal with a lovely unique atmosphere and decor. Staff are friendly, hard working, and everything is prepared and made in front of you so you know what you're getting as well as how you're getting it. An obvious family business gives the customers that homely feel that every person loves, and whilst not too overpowering, is an excellent added touch. Recommended by a mate for tasty burger before a concert nearby, I headed in here on an early Saturday evening, place was packed. Ordered a draft beer from a good selection available and browsed the menu, went for the Beast and also chilli fries. Found this place online and the menu reeled me in, especially knowing my partner LOVES loaded fries. Walked in, plenty of space to sit down. Chose our burgers and couldn't resist ordering two sides- loaded fries and the chicken wings. We both ordered the beef burger and a napoleone cider. We watched the food being made and our order came quickly, both pleasantly surprised by the treat onion ring on top of the burger. Meat was juicy and delicious, melt cheese, fresh lettuce, yummy sauce and my fav touch on this burger- the beetroot relish. My partner had all of the wings which he enjoyed. Then the cheese and gravy fries- AMAZING! We both LOVE gravy and this was one of the best I've ever tasted. Highly recommend this place- NO idea what the 1 star reviews are about.

Underrated place. Has one of the better tap lists on Swan street, reasonably prices, and the burgers are pretty solid. Some are better than others, but the lamb burger they do is great, and they have some of the finest chips and gravy in the land; they know a good chip to gravy ratio.

Amazing food. We went in on a tuesday and got the $15 Burger / Chips / Drink deal. Food wise, this place gets 5 stars, but I'm taking a point off for the ambience. The place is a bit dark, the seats aren't very comfortable and almost always during lunch rush, there's only 1 person working the till / serving drinks, which means on an average you're waiting >5 minutes to get served. Great, but can easily be made amazing.

They must have just had a bad day when I wrote the original review. $15 lunch special mon-thurs is a winner 👍 Hadn't been here in over 12 months. Used to be my absolute favourite burger place, but the quality of the food has declined noticeably. The beef burger was dry, and the chips were bland. The seasoning on the chips used to be a highlight, but now lacks flavour. There are plenty of burger places opening up on Swan St so surprised they have let the quality slip.

It was quite full and loud, mostly because of the football being about 20 minutes walk from the venue, so the crowd had the same idea as I had to grab a bite to eat before the game. The staff are attentive and service standards were reasonable. The table I sat on was communal, but you have enough space to call it your own. The table has knives, forks and napkins at your disposal. I ordered the Beef Burger and a side of chips, it was delicious. The interesting mix of beetroot relish, gruyere cheese and American mustard was a perfect combo. You can even watch the burgers being prepared and you can see the effort and amount of care in how the burgers are cooked. It's a nice touch.

The prices are high, but the burgers almost make up for it, whilst the chicken burger was a bit ordinary the basic beef burger they are becoming known for is a very good burger. The pork burger with its crackling is also a favourite, although the slaw that goes with it wouldn't be my first choice to go with it. The chips are larger than they seem so a small will usually suffice. Oh and if you drink then this is the choice burger joint in Swan Street.

Delicious fare, tainted by flustered service. As a first timer, I was recommended by a staff member to try the beef burger, which will now live on as one of my favourite burgers in Melbourne. Great appearance and texture, accompanied by some excellent beer battered chips. Just the right amount of smoky bacon tied in perfectly to the sweetness of the brioche and sauces, and the beef was a beautiful pink in the middle. Front of house staff were clearly overwhelmed by a full restaurant, to the point that my request for attention was met with an unsubstantiated "I'll be back." Unfortunately, the request was to enquire as to the whereabouts of a burger for our table - my friend instead opted for a refund.

Interior is nice, although the stools aren't particularly comfortable. It's not really a lounge, but it does have a relaxed atmosphere. Unfortunately, they had the football on big TV's when I went there, so it tended to attract the normal football crowd. Burgers were excellent. I had the deer burger which was really tasty. Cooked perfectly and the burger had american mustard and tangy pickles in it. My girlfriend had the chicken burger which was probably even better than the deer. The crumb on the chicken was spiced with cumin and was really interesting. Overall, really well made and interesting burgers. The only disappointment of the night was the beer selection. Despite 'beer' being in the name, the selection of beers, although large, was not very interesting. It was nice to see Sierra Nevada PA and some Grand Ridge brews in there, but the other choices were either macros from around the world, or the cheapest and usually worst beer in an established craft breweries lineup. The taps were also pretty abysmal. The most interesting thing on tap was Coopers Dark Ale. Regardless of the poor beer choice, this place is still excellent. If you don't care about beer much, you'll love it. However, if you're going to claim to specialise in beer as well as burgers, you need to constantly have something interesting on tap not just once a month.

Came before a show hoping for quick meal. Waited for 40 minutes, meals didn’t arrive despite asking several times and watching everyone else eat and leave. Cancelled in the end as we were running late. Asian manager refunded us but was pretty rude about it. Pity as the food looked good. The beef burgers we ordered were ok. The chicken burger was dry and 75% batter, really unpleasant to say the least. The chilli fries were wet and soggy and the chilli tasted like a Bolognese sauce. Disappointing overall.
