Got myself a serving of chips and the local gummy shark. Everything was tasty and crispy! Some places have some over-bearing batter, St James does it great. Phone staff was polite, young staff were cheery when I came in. Good service

Best chips I've had in years, very light 'n crispy. Fish was battered perfectly, although fillets could be a wee bit thicker. Going back there again though for the Tuesday special!

The best fish and chips so far. The chips are crispy when it's fresh, the portion is generous. The crumbed fish was good (make sure you eat it while it's hot). Overall, worth it to try and they have promotion buy one get one on Tuesday as well 👍

Amazing Fish and Chips, always fresh and cooked perfectly! Also great value for money with very generous serving sizes. We always ring through our order and have no issues, normally only a 20 minute wait too :) Edit: Review for Gourmand Fish and Chips, has now been taken over I believe.

Just happened across this place, the staff were friendly, and the chips were absolutely amazing. Nice and crispy, and reminded me fighting for the crunchy pieces. Fish was just a tad, dry, but there was nothing greasy about them. Will definitely come in again, and highly recommend.

Tonight I ordered fish and chips for 17 people and the order was perfect. Ready on time and exactly what was ordered plus extra of everything!!!!! Absolutely scrumptious!!!! We ordered from St. James fish and chips on the recommendation of my son and his wife and so glad that we did . I would recommend this to everyone, even if it’s a bit further away , it’s definitely worth the effort 👍

Absolutely best fish and chippy I've been to for years! They were generous with the portions, eg 3 good sized fish for an order of two fish of the day, the chips wonderfully crunchy, as with the fish, not greasy at all! Offers of having the fish cooked in various ways, crumbed, grilled, etc. Heaps of other regular and novelty side dishes, and the service friendly, efficient, and a lovely clean place to enjoy eating in or take away. I will return, perhaps I'll see you there.

Really really enjoyed the local fish and chips tonight especially the surprise pork ribs that melt in the mouth. Chunky chips never tasted so good when ate with rib ! Value meal that feeds whole family. Their F n C is crispy and less oily. Probably due to rice oil. Highly recommended.

I love the fish and chips here. Lots of options of both fish and how it’s cooked. The chips are just right fluffy inside and crispy on the outside. I always have battered fish which is light and never overpowering Friendly staff and clean inside you can’t go wrong buying here

Seems like the 50% off for your second Traditional FNC is not a full serve as we're given 3 fish in a pack and chips in another pack. They should've clearly stated that "ONLY ONE extra fish will be given for the 50% off when you order another Traditional FNC". I''m still giving 4 stars due to fresh and clean fish and chips, great customer service as they greet you nicely when you stepped into the shop. The shop doesn't smell oily so that's a bonus. Hopefully they'll clarify the real definition of 50% off your second Traditional FNC.
