Comments of Bar Luca

Blame Australia is the UNDISPUTED BEST BURGER IN SYDNEY. Time and time again I think I'll get sick of having this incredible burger. Time and time again I'm proven wrong. Great staff, great vibes, great food.
If you're just looking to enjoy a burger, highly recommend to go on a weekday mid afternoon. Dinner can often be booked out, especially on weekends.
A. I. W.
I really love their Mr.Truffle burger and you can add on pork ribs+fries for only $7. This is the best burger in town, MUST TRY 🍔 and make sure to make a reservation ahead especially on weekend if you come this place.
M. T.
Great atmosphere, I got the chicken burger. Had to wait a v long time. My friends finished their food before I got mine.
Defs very generous pieces of fried chicken patty tho!
S. Z.
Juicy, meaty and delicious burgers. This burger joint never disappoints. They always have unique specials that we recommend you try, otherwise you must get the BL beef, the T-ruffle or the blame Canadian.
Also lots of unique beers and tinnies, great drinks selection. Awesome place to hang out after work or for a great Friday night dinner with friends
J.
The best burgers that I’ve ever had ever !!! I ordered the meat pie burger, very interesting choice some would say hahah but it was amazing! Bought my love for burgers to another level! One of the best burger places, good customer service, seemed very packed but everyone was accommodated very nicely! Will definitely be back once it opens up again!!! 10/10
H. M.
Staff was friendly and helpful. One of my orders got lost in the chaos but it was quickly followed up and a fresh burger was promptly prepared for me. Burgers are amazing, the blame Australia is the definite must try when coming here. This place gets really packed really fast, I recommend making a booking or rocking up early to avoid long waits. Great atmosphere and food.
J. X.
The food here is delicious! As a burger-lover, this place is high on my list of favorites in the CBD. The fries were hot and crispy, and I simply cannot get enough of that maple bacon!
It can be hard to find a seat here, though, because the place is always full of fellow burger-lovers, which sometimes gives the feel that you're being rushed in and out (not enough of an issue to remove a star, though).
I would suggest booking in advance if you have more than a couple people!
J. C.
Absolutely amazing food, great service, great price and did I mention amazing tasty food. The burger was quite possibly one of the best burgers I’ve ever had and the chips are just to die for, you won’t be disappointed, the food there is just so tasty, it’s like a flavour explosion!
g.
Suggested by a burger loving friend of mine, I eagerly waited for the 1100 opening.
Plenty of seating at that time in a bar like fashion in a casual environment with hip sounding young staff.
I ordered a chicken burger which was faultless, double layer of chicken and went down well.
My other thing I looked forward to was the poutine. I was a little disappointed with that, with thin chips, lack of gravy and cheese. I feel poutine is better suited with a thick cut chip.
Add a drink and it came in at the low $30 mark.
Enjoyed the occasion.
D. C.
The best burger in Sydney!
I had the Blame Australia burger and was not disappointed, it was so good. The service was really fast and friendly, and the selection of burgers gets your mouth watering. The poutine was also amazing.
It can be busy but it’s worth the wait. If you’re in search of great burgers and a cold beer, this is the place to go.
G. P.
This is my first time here, I ordered the Burger special, On F-Leek. I would have to say that this is the best Burger I have ever eaten. I have had some pretty amazing Burgers in my time, but this one is definitely the be. I will be coming back here definitely.
OMG, I think I am having a food coma. And that's a good thing.
I. N.
Bar Luca never disappoints. I usually go for the truffle burger but this time i tried the Australia burger and it was extremely good. Huge burgers and very juicy. My favorite burgers in Sudney
S. R.
The burgers were good, but customer service was sub-par. The menu paints the place as vegan-friendly, but staff seemed to struggle to meet the promised options. It wasn't busy at the time and delivering on the menu offered would make this a far better place to eat.
K.
Phenomenal burgers. So happy we stopped here for lunch.
A. C.
Good venue, really friendly service. The burgers are nice, and the lamb ribs are good too. Had the Blame Australia burger, but I wasn't a fan. Bacon was too sweet, and the poutine (which I normally love) didn't add much to the flavour or texture of the burger. Still I don't want to downrate just because of my personal taste, I will revisit and try a different burger. Staff are lovely, and the venue itself is quite nice. Lamb ribs and fries are good, but expect to get messy!
L. L.
Great burger!
The staff here are also very friendly!
H. G.
Good food and drinks! The T-Ruffle burger was really good. Only two let downs are being sat in that back corner - feels like you're left out of the fun in the front. I'd also suggest to fix that bathroom/staff door near the back corner. It's constantly slamming and ruins the atmosphere. Aside from that, would go back for the food for sure.
E. D.
Was absolutely defeated by this monster of a burger tonight! (This weeks special, ‘Cheesing Restrictions’)
With two patties, a mozzarella patty & mac and cheese, it was an absolute beast. You get a huge portion of chips for $3 extra, which is definitely worth it, and my friend and I overordered with the Mac and cheese (which was incredible, but way too much for me with the huge burger).
Service was quick, food came super fast and it was really tasty. Would definitely recommend!
N. C.
Really good burgers. These burgers are the gourmet type. The quality of the burgers are reasonably priced and substantial. The shoe string fries are nicely seasoned and have a nice crunch to them.
A. H.
Classic Sydney over the top burgers. Try to blame Australia or Australia if you have never been, otherwise the specials are always fun to try.
C. T.
I love the BL Beef here that's why I stop by. Yesterday I took some boys out for a large meal. Spent a bit of money here but the guy serving me behind the counter seemed to be trying to prevent me from spending my hard earned money. Like dude, if I wanna waste my money on having fun why are you trying to stop me. It's not like I'm buying an excessive amount of crypto.
s. s.
Good beef burger. Delicious chips.
L. T.
Blame Australia burger never fails to please the taste buds. Not a great selection of beer on tap but wide enough selection of bottled stuff.
J. W.
Probably one of the best bars in town but is it one of the best burgers also let’s fine out. First glance at the menu prices start between $13 for the cheapest classic cheese burger to the most expensive and biggest burger called ‘the lot’ at $20. The rest of the burgers are tiny and the biggest disappointment, it doesn’t include fries which cost additional $3. The burgers have a delicious beef patty as standard, add-on for more meat and veggies are additional at $1 each. So is it worth trying? Definitely give it a try but you probably wouldn’t want eat there everyday and spend $25-30 on food and drinks that’s not going make you feeling satisfied when you walk out the door.
C. M.
Great burgers, cocktails mediocre... Staff is very friendly and the environment is amazing. Quality hasn't declined after so long. Can't wait to come back again!
S.
Amazing burgers, good portion of chips as well as a good selection of drinks. Good chilled out environment for a group gathering. Note you will be asked to sit down if you are standing around the raised tables, I assume this is covid related.
H. Y.
Been here for a couple of times and still believe that the Blame Australia is the 10/10 burger you can get in Sydney!
This time, we ordered the Truffle Burger and turned out to be great!
For truffle lovers, you can taste the truffle sauce with the burger. Very nice, but, personally, the Blame Australia is still my all-time favourite.
Worth every dollar!
B. D.
A great lunch spot in the city with a fun and inventive burger of the week.
Made famous for its Blame Australia burger, you can't go wrong with this juicy meal with its fantastic side of uniquely garnished fries. Do note that It can get quite busy and thus very loud with a bit of a wait at peak hours , and some of the the weekly burgers can be hit and miss.
I recommend trying one of their special sodas, they are delicious non alcoholic treats.
T. L.
Got the Blame Australia burger which was good, though quite possibly a potential heart attack between two buns. The regular beef burger has tomato, lettuce and pickles which I think might be a good option for feeling slightly better about yourself. Good vibes here. Order food and drinks at the counter.
A. T.
You’ve seen it before. It’s why you are probably looking. But, I’ll say it again... best burgers in Sydney. No doubt you will be trying the Blame Australia. It’s as good as the reviews say. I hear the other burgers are also good, although to be honest, I have personally only tried the famous one. Worth it.
O. B.
I tried bl chicken burger, it was really delicious and well cooked. Sauces were handmade and very tasty. Place is also very modern, it looks like a real burger bar. It gives you the feeling of a sports pub. Staff is kind. However, cheese in my burger wasnt melted at all, it was added at the last minute. Burger bread was not that fresh either. Overall, i would recommend the place.
M. S.
Great burgers! Friend had the keto bun, which he said was great. The wings were so tasty!
C. N. (.
Fast service (like holy smokes super fast!!), great atmosphere, and a simple and delicious menu. Although it's named as a bar, Bar Luca could very well be a restaurant as it will accommodate the casual diners as much as those who want to settle in and enjoy the great beer, cocktail, and soda menu.
You may have to wait for a table if you hit peak time, but come after or before and you'll be straight in with a grin, and eating before you can strike up a conversation! The burgers are delicious, the poutine is great, and the drinks keep you going.
Definitely recommend the visit!
Y.
I'm from Australia and have been following bar Luca for a while and was looking forward to trying their delicious burgers.
I had the BLAME CANADA which was good
it had beef pattie, American cheese, maple bacon,
maple aioli & poutine on a BL milk bun
With an order of fries and BBQ wings
Overall everything was good
Too bad they don't use a char grill as it taste better.
Worth a visit if in Sydney area and it's a Gourmet burger so be ready to pay $30 bucks burger fries 3 chicken wings and a coke
R.
Fantastic burgers is the reason for 5 stars. Literally, best in Sydney.
However the staff show zero enthusiasm or interest to talk and greet customers. I do love the burgers though! (Did I mention that?)
L. S.
Friendly and helpful staff. Decent burgers. Good value for money. Chips and wings were really good.
G. L.
Delicious burgers and some great beers on tap. Place has a really cool vibe, a little grungey. It attracts a real mix of clientele from office workers to art students. It's very close to some major offices and Circular Quay ferry. The burgers are impressive and a good size, the offer a great variety of fillings too. The chips are shoestring and portions are a little small. Overall the meal is a bit overpriced with average burger being $17 + $7 chips if you want them. The only other let down was how busy it gets and the booking system on the door doesn't seem to work. We were waiting for a table for a long time whilst waiting at the bar and lots of tables were free for too long a period. If they could lower the price and reduce waiting time they would get 5 stars
G. M.
A convenient CBD burger joint serving good American-style burgers. A popular after-work meet up place for drinks and great casual meals. The milkshakes are worth checking out! It gets packed really quickly, booking is recommended.
K. C.
Bustling bar frequented by after work crowd. The Bar busy pumping out drinks to accompany delicious burgers. Burgers were great nice and bold in the American Style and served medium rare (like all good burgers should be)
N.
Oh. My. God! Best last minute choice.
We arrived without a reservation and luckily were seated immediately. Recommend booking a table if it’s a bigger group.
Lots of options for food and drinks to actually fairly reasonable prices.
Served very quick considering the entire place was full.
Food was absolutely delicious!
A. A.
No doubt the best burgers in Sydney. Been here twice and the food was amazing. The burgers are big and filling, with the option to add fries and chicken wings / lamb ribs. Great selection of beers here too. Just be aware that this spot is very popular (the food explains why), so the restaurant can get really busy. However, service was very fast despite it being completely filled.
B. (. B.
Delicious.
The burgers are better at Bar Luca...
I've tried the Ribs A+++, The burger A++ & the chips A+.
Great place for some quality fast food. If your looking for juicy burgers, seasoned fries and some saucy Ribs Bar Luca has you covered.
The only downside to this burger joint is finding a table its pretty much always busy.
Anyhow great place for a feed, highly recommend.
A. T.
Brilliant. Meal portions are huge so be mindful not to order too many side dishes. The meals themselves are tasty and filling. Service is satisfactory.
A. P.
Everyone loves the blame Australia but I found it to be a sloppy, overly sweet mess. Although the initial few bites were delicious as the crunchy bacon and maple syrup came through, my palate quickly grew weary, with nothing acidic to balance out the heavy flavours. In the end it was just eating a sauce sandwich. The flavour of the meats totally lost and the textures of the chips and patty turned to mush. Next time I go I will try their more basic burgers.
P. G.
A burger fiend of a friend told me that this was one of the best burgers in Sydney. Armed with high expectations, Bar Luca certainly did not disappoint. The beef patty was juicy & generous and the various burgers were all delicious. The Blame Australia burger was definitely the most messy to eat with the inclusion of poutine within, but it was finger lickingly delicious. The crab & corn fritters were light and refreshing & onion rings crispy & tasty. The shakes were fantastic! Come with an empty stomach & loose clothing and indulge.
R. Y.
This one is called Blame Australia, I ordered a side of fried chicken too. It's a super decadent burger, I haven't had anything like it.
I wouldn't eat inside though, it's too crowded, loud and certain parts are right next to the exhaust (I don't like inhaling oily fumes). But if it's crowded, it means that many people like it right? Maybe it's just me, I prefer to eat my burger in peace.
C. M.
Very busy, loud venue. Best to book if possible, or you can stand outside waiting like sheep. Burgers are tasty, juicy and flavoursome.. Lots to choose from and cheese are underrated! Would go again and would recommend
B. P.
Blame Australia was truly an experience. I added an extra patty on top and it was an explosive greasy glorious-ness every bite I took.
The only downside was the special of the week (The Stranger Things special) was average in comparison, maybe the eggos just tipped it over to being way too dough-y.
The loaded fries were also just ok, not a standout.
I would absolutely return for just the Blame Australia burger.
P. P.
Unique, creative specials and consistently delicious burgers keep me coming back to Bar Luca. The most important part of the burger for me, the patty, is always charred to perfection but juicy and delicious.
The most recent special, the taco pill (pictured below) was a great flavour combination of spicy chillies and sweet onions. The only downside is that it was very messy and fell apart as soon as I started to eat it. This didn't stop me from picking up all the pieces and eating them because it did taste great.
a. l.
Good amazing burgers! Portions are big!
Fries are amazing but unfortunately the onion rings are way too greasy
But will definitely come back more for the burger
K. L.
Best burgers in town. Expect to wait (suggest booking) but totally worth it. Ordered their special of the day - fried chicken burger with butter chicken sauce. All the burgers coming out of the kitchen were massive burgers. Recommend adding chips to share - generous portions. Will be back again.
V. G.
There's a reason they were voted second best burgers in the world. Burgers were on point! Cocktails were great too!
D. L.
Great burgers in the city. Be prepared to line up up to 20mins if you're going during lunch. We had the Blame Australia and the Twin Birds golden ale - was not disappointed.
B.
Mr Truffle Burger and Poutine fries were amazing. Best burger I've ever had. Highly recommend.
L. C.
Been meaning to grab a burger here for ages and it didn't disappoint. Great staff, good selection of beers, worth a visit.
a. g.
I've eaten here twice and I can now declare that the great tasting burger I had before was no fluke! The burger just tastes amazing. I am more of a classic cheese burger type of guy usually but the Blame Australia is just mouth watering. Imagine, poutine, bacon, gravy, maple syrup and cheese all in a burger. No words to describe it except wow.
The fried wing are sweet barbecue that are really tasty. I've tasted better poutine but their style is good already.
Would I go back? Hell yes! 3rd time will be a charm!
L. L.
Delicious burgers and awesome poutine!! Gets really busy even during the week so you’ll probably line up but the wait is worth it. It’s pricier than your average burger but then again these burgers aren’t average. Pictured is the BL chicken burger, BL beef and poutine.
S. P.
Good range of burgers. Reserve your place if you are visiting after 7 pm. Some tables are reserved from 6 pm. Surprised they don't have happy hour. So regular beer cost more than U expect.
J. A.
Had their special burger with peanut butter. Highly recommend it. Easy to see what all the fuss is with place. It's really busy and crowded (for good reason) so I would recommend making a reservation. Food came out really quick and our party of 4 were really happy with everything.
D. K.
Food was amazing, not too greasy and great flavours plus it was super quick to be delivered to the table. Just a shame the service was slow to order with only one staff member on the counter with a packed restaurant and then multiple times they tried to take our table number before all of our food was delivered. They took it before we had everything and then we were left chasing it up. The shakes took ages to arrive and we had to chase those up to unfortunately.
V.
One of the best burger I've ever had. The maple syrup gives a unique taste and texture to the bacon. Also, the syrup aioli poutine sauce is great. Not to mention, the shoestring fries are freshly made.
Bloaded fries comes LOADED with beef brisket.
P.
Honestly one of the best burger joints ive ever been to. Burgers and fries taste amazing. Not too expensive for a city restaurant as well.
K. H.
Was super impressed by the burgers and drinks here. Food was great and MOST of the bar staff were awesome. One exception. One bloke must of been having a super bad night because I got the vibe that all he wanted to do was go home. Seemed like he’d rather be anywhere else but there. Disappointing because other experience otherwise was great. Picture of him below.
T. D.
Best burgers in town. Every time I go I must have the Blame Australia burger. It has everything you need in a burger. Full of flavour and you won't leave wanting. Large selection of beers on tape. This place is always busy and I can see why. Despite being so busy we always manage to get a table in decent time.
The staff are a fun bunch even though they are constantly working flat out. Bless 'em. You can tell everyone that works here are passionate about their jobs. It usually is quite loud here but don't let that put you off. A must visit!
C. W. J.
Excellent Sides and Burger. Friendly Cashier and Waiters too ! I recommend their Lamb Rib Skitlets!
D. K.
Best burger I’ve ever had. Great customer service.
R. B.
If you are looking for decadent, deluxe burgers and saucy wings then this is your new Mecca.
Order the Blame Australia burger, because pure pressure is a thing and everyone's doing it but also because it's the best tasting thing you may ever have.
This burger has a layer of poutine and I could stop there and it would be enough but then there is maple glazed streaky bacon, a wagyu beef patty and cheese...close your eyes...it's a transformative experience.
The wings are also amazing with a great zesty BBQ sauce. Will you clog your arteries? Yes but heck, blame Australia! Although as a Canadian I think it should be called the Thank Australia...so you're welcome on behalf of my country.
It's pretty busy and the ambiance, service and bathrooms are average but you won't care. You can make a booking if you think ahead!
C. M.
Burgers and cocktails! Great combination. Great list of both. Friendly service. Food was served quickly. The Southside cocktail was delicious as was the burger special. Sat out on the balcony for a quieter experience if you ignore the buses taking off from the stop outside. Washing it all down with an Agave and ginger cider. Billed as the best burgers in Sydney. They weren't fibbing
L. M.
Best Burger in Town. Blame Australia + Blame Australia were amazing!!!
S. Y.
Good place to come to with all the typical American foods! I got the vege burger with riblets and French fries. Only problem was it was served cold (I know they were really busy but still). When we first got there we were left standing and waiting for about five minutes even though there were empty tables at the time we had to "wait to be seated". The waitress that actually served us (she had a Medusa piercing) was super, super friendly and attentive. She was probably the best part of the experience as the people behind the bar taking the orders definitely weren't all that friendly. There's no sports or anything going so don't expect to go there to watch anything. Just a nice time out with mediocre food..
K. C.
Decided to try them out after we saw them on a Current Affair. Great burger and beer. We will definitely return soon!
P. J.
The special burger we ordered was really yummy but didn't like the beer battered onion rings. Mojito was ok as well..
Service was pretty good
M. L.
Great food - true American style. I had the Mac Daddy with Mac n Cheese as well as a scallop. Don't ever get too ambitious - they serve MASSIVE portions! Good drinks selection as well. Can get quite packed inside, so if you're claustrophobic maybe grab a seat outside.
A. B.
Awesome burgers! Everything well seasoned and generous portion sizes.
Service was good and staff have been friendly every time I've been here.
Fair amount of dine-in seating for the area but can get busy in the evenings.
F. A.
I like their magic mushroom burger! They've nailed the southern fried chicken flavour. At one point I was confused because it tasted like chicken! Bread was a bit too buttery and chips salty but good otherwise. Next time I might get the mushrooms alone.
C. V.
Let me just start with I’m from Texas and have really high standards for burgers. However, this place has the best burgers I’ve ever had! I had the Mac Daddy and my gf had the T-ruffle. The place itself has a really cool vibe and it seems to be a cool spot for happy hour. If I come back to Sydney, I will definitely be eating here again!
V.
Fantastic burgers, friendly staff, great vibe -- I will be back!
F. T.
I had a Barbie Burg which is a special burger of the place. It was delicious and portion is more than enough. The place was good with a modern design, a bar and burger place. My friend had a bl chicken burger which is also recommended. Overall I think this is a good place to eat ans have some drinks.
I. M.
One of the OG burger powerhouses in Sydney. With the full bar and dine in experience Luca is different to the rest of the brand. Ensure you get in early, lunches can be a dogfight to get a table it's that good
I. T.
Prepare to wait up to 20min if you’re coming at dinner time. But it’s definitely worth it. Classic burger is always a safe choice but every burger is quite delicious. Had the Mr. T-Ruffle which is really tasty and added the lamb ribs which was ok. Bacon is a bit on the tough/old side but still good. Will be coming back for more
T. B.
Inconsistent, but when they're great they're great. Try to go at a quiet time (before or long after office quitting time) so you're not a victim of lack of attention. Add fillings your burger for more fun and their special loaded fries are often great
W. F.
It's the best burger I've ever had. Genuinely the best ever! I've eaten burgers in so many countries now and I can't deny how good these burgers are. Blame Australia burger blew my mind and the specials are awesome. Worth an Instagram food porn if I ever did know one. Amazing!
V. M.
good burgers - always busy and pretty loud, good selection at the bar though cocktails we had were average at best - but definately come here for the burgers! Mac and cheese was a bit of a let down and lacked flavour, but the fries are good! Always have intresting burger specials too!
J. H.
Great place to catch up. Friendly staff. Good drinks, but the burgers are awesome. Great range. Fabulous portion size and great value at $16-$22. Best to book at lunchtime for groups as it is very popular.
I.
Totally Loved it!
Arguably the Best Burger in Sydney & the customer service is Exemplary!
D. G.
Awesome spot for Beers and Burgers. Busy little spot but turnover seats pretty quickly. Would recommend booking for larger groups.
All burgers that me group had were fantastic - buffalo wings and putine were also tasty.
B. N.
Cosy location literally in the middle of all the business centres of Sydney. Very good burgers and an extensive selection of beers and beverages to choose from. Only slight annoyance is that ppl tend to stand and smoke outside afterwards. Get inside seats if you can or just ignore the smokes and dig into your burgers. It's worth it.
A. C.
A very mediocre experience. The Blame Australia was okay, but the bun wasn't very fresh and the patty wasn't very juicy. The serving size was appropriate for the price, but the quality was not. Definitely not worth the $17. Chips were good though.
R. A.
Burgers here are some of the best I have ever had, the staff are very friendly and helpful, service is quick, good selection of drinks available, the food is absolutely first rate and a good selection is available, bookings are not needed but recommended as it can get busy, definitely well worth a visit
L. J.
One of the best gourmet burger joints in town. Also serves alcohol. Their signature Blame Australia burger is brilliant and some of their weekly burger specials have been exceptional!
M. H.
It's a must try in my opinion. The burgers here are ON POINT! Seriously good food and drink, not really a place for people to visit with young kids but they had no issue with our 4 year old sitting quietly with us while we ate
L. X.
Bar Luca is great, either for take away or to dine in. Their Burgers are all delicious, but I'd recommend Blame Australia. If you're looking for something different, ask for their weekly special, I'm sure it's gonna be tasty! They also have a great variety of beers so there's that too! Enjoy it!
R. M.
Best burgers 🍔 in the CBD. The team at Bar Luca have done a bang up job in transforming a dive bar into a fantastic lunch spot. Totally recommend checking out but make sure you book ahead as the place is packed from 11:45am onwards
L. L.
Recommended by my brother n boy it delivers. The beef patty is oily n juicy. The whole meal is filling. Friendly service n quick serving of the food n drinks. Awesome n keep it up guys!!
C. C.
By now almost every Sydneysider has visited Bar Luca at least once, so I am but one small voice in the chorus of genuflection: the Blame Australia burger is the best burger in town.
With its nectary maple-glazed bacon and creamy poutine curds, the Blame Australia burger ($16; +$6 for fries and smoky, spicy BBQ chicken wings) is a joyous celebration of sweetness, saltiness, fat and American exceptionalism with every mouthful. Despite there being so many ingredients and so many contrasting (yet ultimately and oh-so-satisfyingly harmonious) flavours, the beef remains the true star of the burger. And rightfully so, because it's cooked to such pinkish perfection that it overflows with its juiciness - it's the first thing you notice with every bite, until suddenly an explosion of fruity sweetness arrives with the maple-glazed bacon, a taste lingering just long enough for the soggy poutine fries and cheese curds to round things off with their creaminess. Rinse and repeat, and before you know it, the burger's gone, this inspired symphony of flavours has finished, and by the time you've polished off the remaining strands of nori-sprinkled and perfectly seasoned fries, you've already mentally pencilled in your next visit to Bar Luca.
Despite such awe-inspiring food, several minor but inexcusable annoyances prevent Bar Luca from being a 5/5 experience in my books.
Firstly, there needs to be a better dining system - the "ordering at the bar and bringing a number back to your table" method may work for any other pub, but for a packed and numbingly loud place like Bar Luca, it just increases foot traffic within the restaurant unnecessarily, making the otherwise simple activity of ordering food overly complicated and frankly, headache-inducing. Either have full table service, or don't allocate tables to people until they have their food.
Secondly, Bar Luca really needs to hire more staff: the waiting list to get into the place, the first and integral step of their convoluted system of operations, was unmanned for most of our wait, which meant quite a few people walked in off the street, jumped the queue and headed straight for the line at the bar to order their food. Luckily, some staff caught on to this and directed them to wait outside, but again, it's just unnecessarily complicated.
Thirdly, due to their meteoric rise in popularity over the recent years, Bar Luca has crammed in as many bar stools and tables as possible into an already cramped space. This means during peak times you're literally shoulder-to-shoulder and back-to-back with strangers: think about all the "excuse me"'s you'll be muttering as you shuffle past them to order your food and all the bumping of elbows as you struggle to eat comfortably.
Bar Luca, for all the frustrating faults in its operation, offers absolutely stellar food that has dominated social media and the Sydney foodie zeitgeist for several years now. In combination with their unique and creative weekly burger specials, it's hard to imagine how they will ever go out of fashion.
L. X.
Great food and service, it's fantasticplace to catch up with friends afterwork. Highly recommend on the Blammed Australia burger.
E. G.
Walked in with no booking on a Friday evening, and was pretty lucky to get a table outside immediately, as it got busy within 10 minutes. For burger, had the Blame Australia with Add ons - Mac and Cheese. Was yummm! For drinks had the Zimbrowka Bison Grass Vodka and freshly juiced Granny smith apples. Worth trying the drink once.
R. T.
Great original burger place. The blame Australia with its Poutine and maple syrup inside is awesome. Milkshake are excellent too. At lunch arrives early or wait for a table. Once you finished, don't expect to stay there for a chat, they ask you to leave.
C. H.
Chicken burger was huge!
Chips were really tasty with a nice seasoning.
Would definitely go back again.
Got nothing on Melbourne though, sorry Sydney folk 😉
N. G.
Second time coming here, amazing food as always. The blame Australia is our favourite burger, very intense combination of flavours. Also a great selection of craft beers. Will be back again soon.
B. l.
Still one of the best in Sydney city. Tried the Halloween burger, the addition of the German sausage was interesting. Very tasty but made it hard to eat, broke the patty in half. Definitely NOT a first date place.. Haha...
b. b.
Blame Australia burger is next level good, can't say the same for their chicken burger though. It doesn't taste bad, but there really is no flavour to it, and if you have a small mouth like me I had to take out one of the chicken pieces since they stack two inside the buns. If you get burgers here I only recommend their beef burgers.
B. G.
Some of the best burgers in Sydney are found here!
Only downside is it's quite busy and always way too noisy
A. S.
Was absolutely defeated by this monster of a burger tonight! (This weeks special, ‘Cheesing Restrictions’)
With two patties, a mozzarella patty & mac and cheese, it was an absolute beast. You get a huge portion of chips for $3 extra, which is definitely worth it, and my friend and I over-ordered with the Mac and cheese (which was incredible, but way too much for me with the huge burger).
Service was quick, food came super fast and it was really tasty. Would definitely recommend!
K.
Love the food here! Service here’s good even though it’s busy time for dinner.
M. H.
Love the burgers and drinks here, lots of stag nights go here so be warned.
J. P.
Great bar for beers and burgers. There's a standard selection of tap beers. Gets noisy at the tables outside with all the buses going past though. Make sure you book a table in advance on Fridays or expect to queue.
The Blame Australia and poutine is always amazing. Tried the special this week.. Tequila Guackingbird.. wasn't impressed.. the chicken was dry, only a small splash of guack, couldn't taste the tequila or lime and the jalapenos had no punch.
T. G.
Abit pricey but worth every penny especially there chicken with special sources thank your for an amazing service and excellent burgers will come again 5 stars from me
S.
Tried their blame Australia burger... Maybe my exception was too high. The sauce and beef patty was good but it is weird to have chips as one of the layers.
J. W. T.
All my friends were satisfied with the burgers. The Blame Australia is the most famous here. Personally I tried the mushroom burger which was also delicious.
One thing to take in mind is that if you are having birthday celebration here and you are bringing your cake, do remember to bring along the candles and a lighter.
Good atmosphere!
D. M.
Never disappoints for burgers and loaded fries with weekly specials. Huge amount of toppings available!
N. K.
Tasty burgers and french fries. Very popular place in cbd, thus it is hard to find a table to get sited. The only downside is that you need to pay additionally for fries.
R. K.
Bloody fantastic burgers! Great atmosphere, and lots of unusual menu items (e.g. Burger with Maple Bacon, Poutine and Peanut Butter). Definitely get the chips with the burger, they're great value for money.
J. B.
The Blame Australia burger is literally one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. The service was solid, place was clean, food was good, and the vibe was nice - good for catching up with mates and work colleagues.
A. R.
Best burgers in Sydney hands down. Go for the blame Australia burger and well...blame Australia for a taste sensation.
Awesome every time.
E. B.
Bar Luca is a victim to it's own success when it comes to waiting times. Every time that I have visited, me and my friends have had to wait for excessive lengths of times to get a seat - but I guess that says a lot about the food they are serving!
Being that I don't eat beef - Bar Luca has always been a tricky one for me, since everyone is obsessed with the 'Blame Australia' burger, however I was pleasantly surprised with their chicken option which really hit me for six.
Let it be known, this is not the place you can come to often unless you want to end up looking like a burger - but god they are tasty!
K. B.
Best burger I've had in ages. Busy burger joint downtown - great vibe, friendly service.
A. W.
Burger perfection: the Blame Australia is a superstar but the weekly specials are often amazing too, good on-tap beer selection. Would not go in peak times as I can't wait that long (45+ mins for a table) whilst the burger smells are a'cooking ...
A. S.
You had better be ready for a wait because this spot is jamming! Get in line for a Blame Australia, their most famous burger, or try your hand at building your own behemoth burg. Suggest to throw on some onion rings, and if you want a twist go for the peanut butter addition!
V. J.
Insane burgers 🍔 Once you approach the place, the smell will let you know that you are at the right burger place. Amazing place and food. For obvious reasons can be very busy during peak hours.
M. T.
I usually order BL Burgers through food apps, so was pretty happy with the menu. The staff were super friendly and attentive.
In comparison, I had visited Mary’s at Customs House a few weeks earlier and did not have a great experience, with staff disinterested in customers wanting to be seated let alone served. The staff at Bar Luca showed that this is not the expected standard of a burger bar. These guys should get raises!
M. T.
In my opinion, the burgers were nice but not amazing, they were cooked well and I like the way the menu was set out, you pick your burger and then you can hack it with extras. Good selection of craft beers behind the bar and plenty of seats, however it's always busy so you need to book
K. D.
Bar Luca best place in Australia for a reason! They didn't have the vivid burger anymore when i visited early june so i ordered a canadian burger. My gosh it was very very spicy. It was also delish despite how spicy it was. Do not order if you dont like very spicy lol amazing food and drinks all the same. Thank you bar luca!
M. H.
The best parts of a bar and the best parts of a burger joint. Has large burgers, great selection of sides and lots of beer options.
It wasn't crowded when we went but expect to wait a bit (it's worth it!)
j. m.
Best burgers at Bar Luca and their BL branches
Always get a Blame or Flame and sometimes try one of their specials
Only complaint is the cost of drinks. 3 burgers and 3 drinks cost over $100
V. M.
Very classic and reliable cafe in the beautiful rocks area! We enjoyed our drinks and food for breakfast. It was great to have great scramble eggs that was dairy free for me!
The coffee was also excellent, smooth and delicious.
The staff were lovely and very good at keeping to COVID guidelines.
The only piece of feedback would be the have better gluten free bread
I. A.
We love this place as the quality is of a great standard and the consistency is there. However , trying the mushroom burger for the first time was a bit disappointing as all you could taste was salty overcooked mushroom or batter ( what ever it was ). Truly didn't expect this from bar Luca with it's good reputation etc. I hope they take this feedback and improve it !!
T. H.
Best burger in Sydney CBD. Love the Blame Australia.
F. K.
Great poutine! If you want an extravagant burger this is the place to be! Good selection on craft beers on tap. Must book a seat on busier days
M. K.
One of there best burgers I’ve ever had, fantastic atmosphere, great music, and nice staff. Definitely eat here at least once, and Blame Australia!
C. N.
Sydney’s best for beers and burgers!! Poutine on a burger?! Absolutely genius!
Great selection of beers on tap and a killer burger menu! Must try when you’re in Sydney!
A. B. S.
Best burgers out there! Be sure to check their specials for funky burgers. Bookings are essential as they can get packed.
A. T.
Hey, how ya going? Got the GOT burger of the week and she was a busy little beaver, few beers in the mix and didn't need potato stix. My advice is use your eyes before you order any fries because the burgers are a very good size.
D. W.
Epic burgers, great atmosphere! Definitely a place to take friends or just escape by yourself for a dirty treat
F. M.
The standard classic cheese burger is very good, worth just getting that. The others look tasty too. Fries were ok, nothing special.
C. d. R.
I can understand why this place is always packed. Food quality has been consistent every time I do go here. Service is a hit or miss. We were lucky we got a table on a busy night. If you do plan to dine here, better book a table before hand.
M. C.
Quick, tasty burgers with good variety. Good selection of drinks on tap too. Rocked up with 20 people and they served us all quickly without missing a beat.
J. A.
Above average burgers at a reasonable price with some good chip and drink options. Overall a great place for a casual dinner and drinks!
C. F.
The BL Beef Burger was nice and the service quick but the Fried Chicken Tenders were way overpriced and nothing special at all. Also they have taken the lamb ribs of the menu which does suck. A lot of the items are really pricey and not that special. It wasn't worth the hype.
G. S.
Best hamburgers in Sydney! Beautiful food and great atmosphere. The maple syrup glazed bacon bits in the burgers are sublime. Shall return … thanks 🤝
M. J.
Lot of vegan options here. Nice ambience. But drinks were disappointing.
J. N.
Had a quick meal and service was fine and burgers was good. However the classic burger patty was slightly dry and the cashier's attitude was a bit different compared to before paying.
K. A.
Oh my god, the best chicken burger I've had in Sydney!
A.
This place is fun and vibrant - good for group hangouts. The service is quick, and they have a good selection of drinks and snacks. The vege burger is nice and the onion rings are great.
K. G.
A little overpriced for what you get. $13 for a cheeseburger that's really not much better than macca's. $16+ for all other burgers plus extra for sides
Y. H.
Good food, expensive drinks with arrogant rude staff! Place is too small and they push you to leave! I wouldn’t recommend for a big group. If you love burgers this is your joint as they have nothing else to offer
R. T.
Whenever someone ask me for a good burger joint in the city, Bar Luca is where I suggest to go! I've even tried their low carb bun expecting it not to taste great but it good too! Oh and the chicken wings pack a punch.
j. m.
The burgers here are absolutely amazing, it's easily one of the must visit burger places in Sydney and is only made better by its friendly staff
C. H.
Great burgers served here! I would say one of the best around. Blame Australia is my favourite burger. So much flavour and always consistent. The chips are tops too!
M. G.
Great burgers and atmosphere! It's a bit of a wait on a Friday night, but what do you expect?
J. C.
Their weekly specials are always interesting. I tried the Wonka Burger and it was amazing. Sauce might be a bit too much, but overall taste is really good. Note: Lunch times are almost always packed by people working in the offices nearby, so be prepared to put your name down and wait.
M. H. (.
Great portions, juicy burgers, decent sides. Only bad side is that they're too popular! Have to book in advance if you have groups
E. A.
Wide range of burger choices, got the mr t-ruffle. It's a bit lacking in flavor, it's good, but i expected to taste more of the truffle than just smell it.
R. J. G.
Got the Double Blame. Wow. Even during their peak hours on a Friday at lunch, the burgers came out fairly quick. Wow.
A. K.
I've been coming to this establishment several times these couple of months!
The quality of the Burgers here are phenomenal!
I highly recommend you try the "Blame Australia" Burger with a cheese paddy ontop! Especially if it will be you're first time there.
The fries are sweet and perfectly salted as well!
Many options of drinks to pick from, especially beers. However if you desire something more sweet I'd recommend the craft sodas. They are fruity and very tasty with any meal.
Location of the place is very easy to find and very close to Circular Quay, if you wish to walk a little after the meal!
O. N.
Mr T-ruffles was really good! Fries were great but slightly salty.
B. W.
Great food, great cocktails, definitely recommend giving the burgers a try
S. S.
This place serves the best burger in the world which is the BLAME CANADA burger. Would highly recommend it and I would definitely rate it 1000/10 👌
S. K.
Blame Australia burger is one of the best burgers I've ever had in Sydney. The place can get busy so I would recommend booking. Will be coming back!
M. S.
ALWAYS an incredible experience. Talk about hammering a winning formula. Every single time burgers have been spot on
P. M. P.
We had a lunch time booking. The online booking service was great. Simple to use and accomodating when we requested an extended reservation from 60min to 90min. The burgers and starters, sensational. The best sweet potato wedges I've tried, and im not usually a fan of sweet potato chips or wedges. I would order again. The Blame Australia burger mouth watering. It appears to be the favourite. The staff were very nice. The bar and sit down area could do with a little revamp. Overall, if your after a casual setting with great food and a good selection of drinks, I would recommend Bar Luca. Plus the delivery of food was quite speedy 😊 I give it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for burgers, starters, drinks and service.
K. F.
Staff were super friendly, food was amazing. I had the Blame Australia, it was one of the best burgers I have ever eaten!
B. L.
Never had a bad experience here. Love the burgers and they are fast!
Good selection of beers too.
A. K.
Burgers were absolutely delicious! Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to find Sydney's Best Burger!
G. D.
My favourite Burger place. Best burgers I've ever had! Great shakes and beer selection. I can't recommend this place enough.
K. M.
The Blame Australia burger is overrated... The menu said they prefer the patty to be a little pink, but mine came done.
M.
The burger buns are to die for, service and atmosphere is great.
M. M.
Always have a new burger of the week. Excellent burgers. It's a must try
S.
The Blame Australia burger is delicious. The standalone poutine was decent but I've had better gravies, but I appreciate their use of actually real cheese curds.
E.
Very nice food with a large serving portion. Reasonable pricing considering the location but not very suitable for kids as it is mainly a bar.
J. L.
Have eaten burgers here for a number of times over the last few years and they are still good.
They do great beef burgers, have yet to try their chicken ones. What I love about their menu is that they allow you to customize it. Public announcement: they do diary free cheese on their burgers!!! Very few places offer this and I absolutely love this point.
One last thing, their chips.... great seasoning and I love shoestring chips.
Come here for a nice night out with mates or bring your friends who are travelling in. Watch out for their specials where burgers go as cheap as $10!
C. F.
There’s a reason Bar Luca is so well regarded in the Sydney burger scene. In fact, there are a few reasons.
I’ve been here quite a few times now and the burgers are excellent. The beef is well seasoned, juicy and just the right ratio with the other ingredients however I personally like a little more char.
The blame Australia is epic, so much flavour, so juicy and heaps of umami from the gravy, little bit of sweetness and saltiness from the bacon, fries and cheese curds and the bun is soft enough to hold everything together, without being stodgy, soggy or getting claggy.
The burgers come out super quickly which is great for people on a lunch break it the city.
Probably the only downside is at this price point table service would be good, especially for groups to avoid always lining up at the bar every time you need a drink or to order food
V. B.
Cauliflower dish was amazing!! Loaded fries were great!!
J. S.
Bar Luca is one of my favourite burger places! Never fails! Awesome milkshakes too!
A. V. A.
Some of the best burgers I've ever seen and tasted. It will not disappoint! Just make sure to book as super busy.
M. F.
Decent as always but lacking a bit of that Bar Luca speciality today. Service was amazing though
a. b.
Service was good the burger i got the chicken was call chicanda a karage spicy chicken burger excellent it came with maple bacon... THE BACON WAS OMG!! It was cooked to PERFECTION i will be coming back this is for sure 10/5 stars
B. N.
So delicious! Had the naked burger (on lettuce instead of bun) and could barely finish... don’t know how anyone eats it with a bun! So juicy and such amazing combinations... dreaming about the onion rings ever since. I will be back!
G.
Great burgers and sides, milk shakes are pretty good. Creative specials each week, I'll definitely be back!
B.
Okay burgers, nice atmosphere but way overrated
J. M.
Absolutely Delicious! Had the "Blame Australia" with chips and sticky lamb ribs.👌🏼
J. M. A. H.
Best burguers in Sydney. And the place has a good vibe
D. T.
Surely one of the best burger bars in Sydney!
K. S.
Some mainstream craft beer and Carlton was in good condition too, served well.
More of a food place burgers are good here
D. L.
Great burgers however it takes ages to find a seat and once you do the service is slow. Make reservations.
V. K.
Delicious, quick burgers. Wait can be a little bit long which is understandable at such a popular place - recommend to book a table.
C.
Home to the one and only Blame Australia burger, which has to be one of the best burgers in Sydney. The service here is quick, the beats are always good, there are some nice beers on tap, and the atmosphere is great. Check out the weekly specials as well. I’d recommend booking ahead a few days out if you have a group - it’s popular so it can be hard to get a table!
A. C.
Nice cold beers with a big fatty double patty beef burger 👍. Good atmosphere to catch up with friends close to the city
E. Y.
I always love a crispy chicken burger!
A. H.
I had the chicken burger and I could barely finish it. The quality and size of the food is well worth the price. Chips were cooked perfectly as they had that perfectly crunchy texture. The space is very clean too so it's a comfortable place to enjoy a great burger.
J. S.
Omg, amazing burger, got soooo food coma'ed
G. T.
Great place for a burger experience, drink menu is pretty great too.
J. T.
Good burger, service could do with an uplift.
P. T.
Great burgers, sides and drinks here. The food never disappoints. The Blame Australia is my personal favourite, but my friends love the rest of the menu. Weekly special is always tasty too. The chips are crispy and well-seasoned. I've been both here and BL burgers a number of times, but this place still stands higher (and tastier) than it's subsidiary store.
K. K. (. L. M.
The Blame Australia burger is the best burger I have ever had. Full stop. I will have to fight anyone who says otherwise. Juicy, meaty, sweet, savoury, crunchy, it is the perfect burger. Everything else like quick service, killer sides, special edition burgers, drinks are just a bonus. Can't recommend this place enough.
C. J.
Amazing burgers - a bit pricey but 100% worth it.
I recommend the blame Australia burger
A. M.
Best burger in Sydney, hands down. The other branches of BL hold no candle to this original establishment. The balance of flavour in the burgers are on point with the play of sweet and salty. Must have a Blame Australia if you haven't. Best to secure a spot in advance by ringing in.
V. L.
Great burgers, very efficient service and nice staff...great atmosphere. Quite pricey but worth it. Especially for the onion rings.
a.
This has been our go to burger joint for the past three years! Our typical choice is the BL burger with extra liquid cheese sauce hehe with chips of course!
A. W.
I can't even begin to tell you just how good the food is here! I don't get to eat out a lot, this was a rare treat, and Bar Luca managed to make this cool hole-in-the-wall a great dining experience!
Had a classic burger with a lettuce bun, adding southern fried chicken and a fried mozzarella Pattie to my order - I thought the extras would come on the side but they were IN the burger and so, SO tasty!
d. m.
Loving eating here when I visited Sydney. Lovely staff, great atmosphere and good burgers. Super easy to make burgers vegan and staff were very accommodating. Would definitely go again
J. F.
Bar Luca’s burgers are amazing! Blame canada and their poutine have been my favourite in Sydney (and now of all-time) for years! I can’t recommend that combination higher!!!!
M. L.
Always excellent burgers at Bar Luca. Tried the Curds & BAE, which was good but resembled the Blame Australia a bit too much.
K. K.
Great burgers and wonderful service. Even though we were told there would be a 20 minute wait they managed to squeeze us in after a couple of minutes. The atmosphere was lively and exciting. I had the blame Australia which was tasty. The fries and onion rings were also worth eating.
H. G.
Fiery Chicanada was so tasty! Poutine inside the burger and also the cheese. A really big burger too!
N. G.
I had one of the best burgers there. Try Australia Blame ;)
S. N.
Great burgers, delicious meat and just amazing interior design
Y. L. T.
Good burgers but expect to wait for a table
A. P.
Specials are delicious and if not to your taste that week the standard menu with add-ons is excellent. Five star service for over five years now. Love it!
B. F.
Trendy, fun bar in the city. These guys do EXCELLENT burgers if you're looking for something hearty and filling, and the onion rings are great. I had the Mr T-Ruffle burger, which was delicious but very rich so I couldn't finish it all. Their cocktails are quite unique as well. I had the Berry Me in Mezcal which is awesome if you like something sweet with a kick to it. All up friendly, fast service, good atmosphere, great food and drink.
N. W.
Not only is this the best place to get together after work, but they have seriously great burgers. The chicken burger (comes with two enormous fried chicken pieces) was superb. The wings and the potato scallops also impressed us.
N. a.
Delicious burgers and great atmosphere.
M. B.
One of the best burger places in Sydney. It's so good that it's hard to get reservation and there can be massive lines for ordering so be sure to turn up early. The food is consistently delicious and can't be good for you - the Blame Australia is reliably one of the best burgers I've ever had.
M. W.
Great food. Some of the best burgers in Sydney. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for some burgs and beers. Best big Mac rendition ever.
Would be 5* but some (not all) of the staff have been consistently rude/pretentious. Every visit I encounter one or more who roll their eyes or genuinely don't care that you're there.
D. P.
Great food but it took far too long just to get our drinks. Should have served the drinks first before we got our food.
S. S.
Trying their BL beef burger and their milkshake.. good enough... love the vibe
W. G. (.
Yummy burger. Interesting choices. It's too big for me to finish on my own though!
J.
Classy and sociable atmosphere. Tried multiple burgers: classic cheese, MR-Truffle and Mac Daddy with a shoestring fries with a couple of mates and they turned out pretty nice but felt a bit lacking. Waiters/Waitresses were very helpful and checked up on us throughout the night
M. T.
Good burgers. The Blame Australia and its variations are highlights, but the rest are good too. Super-fast service; the kitchen must be really well-drilled. Good range of drinks too.
Only drawback is the lack of space. Make a booking for 6 and you are shoehorned onto a table that fits 6 ... just! No room for people who stick elbows out while eating.
A. N.
The best burgers! Poutine is amazing!
M. J.
Expect this place to always have a long wait to get a table. Best thing to do is book a table in advance and once you do get in do try their onion rings cause they are delicious! We tried their blame Australia burger and I thought it was okay. Not for me to be honest. I felt like there was too much happening in one burger. My partner had their cheeseburger with some added jalapeños and that tasted way better. Their service was nice and fast. Cocktails were alright too. Overall good atmosphere and alright food. I'll probably come back.
K. P.
Great beyond burger, tasted exactly like beef. Nice place to hang out with friends. Be sure to make a reservation because it does get very packed. Also really nice cocktails, a bit on the expensive side.
P. C.
The best burgers in town.. legendary... the flame chicanada in monstrous and divine..
Y. G.
Awesome burger joint! Decadent burgers which you can smell a mile away.... delicious shakes as well.
B. t. V.
Cracking burgers, legendary team and a solid beer selection!
K.
Awesome burgers everytime. Best burgers in Sydney CBD.
K. V. M.
The food is hit or miss - I used to love their popcorn chicken but they've replaced it with greasy chicken tenders where the coating isn't crispy and falls off. It's also spicy, which it doesn't mention on the menu. The burgers are good but are sometimes too saucy so it all goes to mush halfway through eating it. The mac and cheese is really good, though.
M. B.
Burgers really are amazing. Love the weekly specials. They also do takeaway as an added bonus!!!
s.
A good assortment of craft beers and a very popular spot on Friday nights (had to book over a week in advance for an admittedly large group of ten people). The burgers are obviously delicious and the cult favourite is Blame Australia. But do try the weekly specials if it appeals to you - I've never been disappointed! Trump Tower and the BL Chicken are also delicious options!
J. W.
Some of the best burgers in Sydney. The specials at BL get better every time
P. L.
This is a very clean and friendly place to shop. I always enjoy coming here.
G. A.
Great customer service, no hold time when you call them.
W. F.
The truffle burger was amazing!
S. V.
Editing my review after trying the new vegan burger with Alternative Meat Co patty. I also recommend the magic mushroom burger and Sriracha & Maple Fried Cauliflower Bites. It's really delicious! The place is very nice, really great atmosphere. Staff is always friendly and service is fast and good. It can be very busy, so I suggest to make a reservation.
E. S.
Probably the best burgers in Sydney. It gets busy so be sure to get a reservation, or get there early.
D. H.
Quite simply the best chicken burger I've ever had!
T. H.
Sensational burgers, Consistent, great atmosphere.
A. I.
Venue is mostly a pub with good vibes. The 'Blame Australia' burger was to die for and would definitely recommend.
s. k.
I usually only leave reviews for places I love. Could have been the day, could have been the order, but I found this place so average. My partner and I ordered the BL chicken burger and the BL beef burger with lamb ribs, buffalo wings and a cauliflower salad. It was exactly average, if not slightly under.
The ingredients and presentation seemed promising but in general there just wasn’t enough ‘zing’ to make it pleasing.
After a few bites of each underwhelming dish, I was left craving something with more attitude.
M. D.
Food is over the top but enjoyable. I had the BL burger with Mac and cheese and my partner had the BL burger with onion rings. Went on a Wednesday night and got seated right away, ordered at the bar with no wait, and the food came ridiculously fast. I honestly thought they were bringing it to the wrong table. Onion rings and Mac needed salt and while the burger tasted good the patty was not as soft as I'd like. At least they cooked it medium. Overall I liked it but it wasn't the best burger or Mac and cheese I've had in Sydney.
M. S.
Great burgers, beer and atmosphere. The burgers are massive
R. S.
Best Burgers I have ever had! Great atmosphere with friendly staff! Close enough to the water to take your burger and eat by the harbour and watch the view. There are both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages available with your meal! Highly recommend for anyone passing through or looking for a great burger to share with mates
A. D.
So crowded everyday. Great burgers. Delicious!
S. L.
Very busy so book well in advance if you don't have time to wait. The person responsible for seating can be abrupt and come off rude. The wait and bar staff were great. The food is sensational and decently priced. Definitely a must for burger lovers.
S. W.
Excellent burgers (still have never had one better than the Blame Australia ) loaded fries are always on point. Shakes are a little on the basic side and have always come with whipped cream and choc topping , kind of generic. Beers are a little basic if you are a craft brew kind of person.
Wanted to buy a singlet in large size but had none left.
In short Burgers & Fries are excellent the rest leaves a little to be desired.
j. w.
Nice place. Good food. Not quite sure though why they can't make drinking water accessible to customers. Have to wait it queue again just to ask for water because the bar was busy. Other than that this is a nice place.
Updating my review: downgrade from 4 stars to 3 stars. Had lunch there today and they're now only filling up the container half full for the sauce. Not only the sauce is a bit pricy but seems like they are cutting cost on it. It used to be a decent amount before but the sauce not worth paying for anymore. Got the same feedback regarding this from the other guys who I had lunch with also. Not paying for the sauce anymore even if it tastes good 👎
M. C.
Great burgers and fast service. Will gladly go back.
B. D.
Their lunch time specials on selected days each week are good value, delicious and include a drink. The seating is undercover or under shade and backs onto Darling Harbour. Overall it is a pleasant place to eat, is kept clean, and has good service. Great choice to escape the heat in summer.
G. H.
Never dissatisfied when I eat here!!! Amazing cocktails too
A. K.
Good place with delicious burgers and drinks. An awesome place to hangout with friends. The place is mostly crowded with asking people. Be prepared for se waiting time at any day of the week. It is highly recommended to book in advance if you are going out with a large group. The burgers are tasty. Infact the best burgers you can have. There is one veg burger which is a must try. Most of the times the burgers are enough to fill you up but you can always compliment your burgers with fries just in case you are super hungry. A burger and some fries cost around $20. In all, its a must place to visit
J. C.
One of the best and well known burger places in Sydney among burger lovers. Tasty and great value. However, the last two times my girlfriend and I have visited we were pretty disappointed with the food recieved. They were filled with way too much sauce and it honestly wasn't the same as earlier times. Meaning that it got to the point where we barely finished the burger without feeling bit ill. Hopefully if ever go again it will be much better. Overall though definitely worth a visit and feed!
p.
Blame Australia is the best burger I've ever had and been the best for the last 4 years I've had it. Definitely a must try!
K. F.
Best burger I've ever had. Great venue, great food, friendly staff and really fast service. Try the blame canada, you won't regret it.
R. H.
Blame Australia! Get Blame Australia for sure, especially if it is your first time.
S. M.
Loud and busy. Great for a quick, weekday lunch. Their classic cheeseburger is in my top 3 cheeseburgers of Sydney. I love that their menu states their burger patties are served pink -- as they should be.
J. C.
A must try option and you won't be disappointed!
Good selection of beers. Very popular for after work drinks.
Good burgers, reasonable size servings and the fries are pretty good.
Also the best choice for a quick bite for lunch if in the area.
C. G.
Great burgers with quality meat made to be as delicious as possible. Good selection of beers of which most are local.
10/10 would eat here again.
For a regular burger eater's first time I recommend the Blame Australia.
J. B.
Definitely in the top chicken burgers Ive had. This place gets super busy though.
G. M.
Never had a bad burger from here. Even when trying a random one, they never disappoint!
D. K.
What a burger place!!! Seriously one of the best burgers I have had. Hit the spot and will be back again when I visit Sydney.
R. M.
The most amazing burgers ever! Great drinks and food is full of flavour. Smashed the chicken burger and the fries are awesome. Great place to catch up with friends and have a great feed.
T. P.
The burgers here are really good, the best I have had in Sydney and equal to the best anywhere.
It looks small from the outside and you could almost miss it but there is more room inside. It is very busy at dinner time and a bit loud. The music is a bit loud too but is an eclectic mix.
The service is friendly and efficient.
A. S.
Always consistent with quality, well balanced in taste burgers, creative options and the ultimate go to everyone should trial with their Blame Australia burger. Service is reliable and quick, they respond promptly with online reservations, cocktails are amazing!! Cannot fault this place and have been 5+ times
J. D.
Those damn burgers. Brings a tear to my eye
D. S.
My personal favorite burger place in Sydney. The burgers are really really good!
The staff is friendly, prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is laid back. Make sure you reserve a spot between 5:30-8pm though and for lunch on Fridays as it will be packed...
D. C.
Fantastic place! Excellent customer service, efficient process.
R. Z.
Fantastic burgers! Great flavoured chips and onion rings to complement.
It was very busy on the Thursday night that I went down with my friend so we did the take away option and sat in front of the harbour enjoying the meal in a nice environment.
It was only about a 10 minute wait for our meal once order but as with some previous comments, the atmosphere can be a bit loud and difficult for good catch up. I could understand if there were different sections but this was a bit loud all round.
Nonetheless, would come back to try more.
B. N.
Easily top 3 burgers I've ever eaten (thats a lot and I've been to Texas, home of the BBQ) and probably the best in Sydney. Fantastic. Always busy though so definitely make a reservation if you want a table.
A. W.
One of the best burgers in Sydney (Blame Australia is worth the hype). If you go at lunch time during the week it'll be frenetic but manageable. The front of house staff do a great job of managing the wait list. Beers are great (they serve pints if you ask) and the weekly special is always fun.
L. C.
Quality burger place but everybody knows that. It's always busy on weekdays so get a booking or rock up super early (like 1130 early). Loads of beers on tap and the Canadian burger is amazing.
C. G.
They don't lie about these being some of the best burgers in Sydney. Absolutely delicious.
J. B.
Still the best burger joint in town!
D. W.
The burger here was very average. It didn't offer anything spectacular. The beef was ok, the sauce was ok, the fillings were ok, and the bread was, poor. The bacon was overcooked and the bread wasn't toasted. Overall, it was a par burger experience. 5.7 out of 10. Thanks folks!
S.
I tried the cheese burger with fries and it was quite lacking. The staff however were really awesome. All the way from the lady they met me at the door to the guy behind the bar to the dude that served the meals.....they deserve more than 5 stars!
V. M.
New menu includes the classics that got them famous. Onion rings were crispy and delicious as with the other sides we got. Everyone was happy with their burgers, drinks and what was ordered.
For those who have not ventured before, this place gets packed on Fridays - as in music festival kind of standing environment. So I would not even consider with any size of a group. But we always come at their not as popular time eg 3pm and it’s still a decent crowd but can find a seat.
V. G.
Brilliant burgers, lively atmosphere and loads of craft beer to pick from. The only negative is that they won’t let me move in!!!
The burgers are well thought out, tasty, cleverly named and HUUUGGEEE!!! Make sure you’re hungry when you go. It’s defo worth it!!
C. I.
Best burgers in sydney. we have been here many many times and are never disappointed. always get the blame Australia it is truly the best. the sides are not the greatest but the burgers are absolutely BOMB!
K. M.
Love this place!!! Great burgers! Great atmosphere. There is a wait of around 40mins if you go during a busy time and are a group of more than 4. I would suggest calling ahead and booking a table for yourself. If you are 2 it's pretty quick to get a table.
W. D.
Great service and efficiency in getting people a table, when there is a long wait. The burgers were reasonable, but I especially loved the poutine! The place is always bustling, so try to get a reservation in advance where possible.
C. B.
Worth every penny. I'll let the photos do the talking.
M. S.
Really great American style burger place. It's really popular with a wait time of 40 minutes on a Wednesday night, however we chose takeaway and had our stuff in 15 minutes. We took our burgers down to Circular Quay and had them on the water.
A bit pricey but worth a try. I'd recommend the Blame Australia!
K. S.
The best burgers in Sydney City, if not all of Sydney. Blame Australia is a definite must and my pick of the menu, but also look out for the special of the week. The shakes are hit and miss in my opinion, I much prefer their Six Barrel Sodas.
If you're coming on a Thursday/Friday/Saturday, be sure to either book ahead or you'll be waiting for a table. However, once you secured a table, the service is quick and the wait for your food is quite short.
Price is not cheap, but also not expensive either. Expect to pay around $15 to $25 per person.
M. B.
Had the Blame Australia and a bunch of sides with some friends. Absolutely delicious. Staff were awesome too. Will definitely be back.
K. H.
Juicy burgers, perfect with a beer. Get the Flame Australia, the poutine is out of this world! It is the same as the Blame Australia but with an awesome spicy kick. Gets very busy especially Thursday and Friday, so either book or turn up early.
D. H. A. V.
Some of the best burgers you can find in the city. Not so greasy with delicious patties served on milk buns! I would highly recommend the Mr T Ruffle or Blame Australia.
D. K. Y. L.
Best burger I've ever had in Sydney (Highly recommending Blame Australia above all). It's quite busy even on an average weeknight - about 30min and up to 1 hour of wait in my experience. The environment is quite noisy, so if you are looking for somewhere you can sit down and have a chat maybe it's not the place for you.
S. M.
So... The rumours are true. Their burgers are awesome!! Everyone always wants a "the best in Sydney" claim, but for me.. This is top 3. Bar Luca, Burgers by Josh and Jacks of Newtown in no particular order. Their buns are soft, sauce is thick enough to not drip everywhere and everything in the middle is cooked perfectly.
I was famished tonight so I actually had 2. Blame Australia and the BL Beef Burger... I really should have looked through the "Hacks" properly and just ordered an additional patty 👌 so awesome though!! Highly recommended, don't drive and always book ahead of time
F. K.
The most amazing beef burger I ever had was their blame canada burger!! Juicy patty, softest milk bun n rich cheese ❤ totally love. Recommend to all beef burger lovers.
L. E.
Wasn't able to get a seat as it was very busy which in itself speaks for the popularity and quality of food.
Takeaway option as an alternative to dining in is a great option. The Blame Australia burger was 110% the best burger I have ever had, will be back again to try some of the other options.
J. H.
Came here on a Friday afternoon, it looked busy but we managed to get a seat for two without having to wait. Blame Australia and BL beef burger were the natural choices. Food came quick. Fries were divine. Juicy patty done medium rare to perfection. Good and large selection of beer. I found the music too loud for decent conversation but did not seem to bother anybody else. Lived up to the hype - would recommend.
H. T.
Nice burgers. But very busy. Blame Australia!!
C. P.
Top spot for a burger and a beer - burger specials are always great and good to change it up so you can keep coming back . Service is always good! Love it
T. G. F. M.
For those of you who are coeliacs Bar Luca does a pretty good gluten free burger. Even though the menu says the fries are gluten free they are cooked in the same oil as other foods that contain gluten. For those who can ingest gluten and are trying to lead a gf lifestyle or for those with a very mild allergy you might be OK (your choice ultimately) but for severe intolerances or coeliacs I wouldn't recommend getting them. I got a side of corn with this great fake, liquid cheese on it. It was good but it was no fries. The gluten free/dairy free burger bun wasn't the best. Betty's Burgers & Concrete Co. in Sydney (three locations) or Honest Burger in London (34 locations) have the best gluten free buns in my opinion, but the Bar Luca bun wasn't terrible, just not the best. It was a bit spongy. The staff member who took my order was so considerate and checked with the kitchen regarding my questions (like, could I eat the fries?). He was very nice too! Service was great, the food arrived quickly, the music was 12/10 with rad artists like Jeff Buckley, Fleetwood Mac and Tool being played + the atmosphere/look of the place is super dope. My partner doesn't have any food allergies and loved his burger, fries and wings. He said it's one of the better burgers he's had in Sydney. It was also great value with two burgers and sides coming to around $40. Not to shabby for a burger in the city! I'd defs recommend giving Bar Luca a go if you want a good gluten free burger! For more gf reviews hit up The GF Minx on tripadvisor or insta.
M. M.
Forget the price tag, the blame Australia burger is a must. Add a few more bacon strips if you dare. While the burger is amazing, the venue is too small, too crowded for the demand. If you're a walk-in you might be able to get a table as soon as it opens or if you've decided to venture here alone at a later time. So this means you'll need to book in well advance to reserve a seat or many seats. So four star for now, unless, somehow, magically, the capacity meets the demands of Sydney lunch rush hour without the long wait.
L. G.
I had the vegetarian burger and its was killer. The chicken wings were not properly smoked but they had a good flavor. It was pact and people continue to pour through the doors on Saturday night!! They also had live music which was awesome! Overall great experience!
S. B.
A really fun and vibrant bar with great burgers!!! A fantastic place if you want to catch up with friends for a drinks and a quick snack. The only down side is, if you don't have a booking there can be quite a long wait, so may pay to make a booking in advance if you were to go. Overall, a really nice bar and atmosphere to enjoy a few cold ones after work.
S. C.
My second best burger place in Sydney! The taste of every single ingredient is succulent, from the bun to the patties, from the cheese to the bacon! Placed in the heart of the city, it's a must try option and you won't be disappointed!
R. R.
Great place for a good burger and fries. I did t get any of their wild creations but their cheeseburger and BL Beef were quite good. Fries were a little bit on the slaty side but everything else was fine.
A. B.
Went on a Saturday night, booked ahead so we were able to get a table, and judging on the crowd I would recommend booking.
Ordered the cheeseburger, think of the Maccas cheeseburger but make it twice the size and delicious and you have BL version! Everyone else was more than happy with their burgers too, and food came out very quickly.
Great place, highly recommend.
R. M.
Hands down best burgers in Sydney I kid you not everyone needs to try at least oncd
J. H. P.
A place where you can hang out after long day at work!
I. K.
Loved the atmosphere of this place. I had a blame Australia burger with fries on the side. As a Canadian, the poutine isn't super authentic, but the burger was pretty damn good. The shoe string fries were fried to a crunchy perfection. Finnished off my meal with the IPA on tap. Probably one of the best burger joints in town. Definitely recommended.
D. G.
Blame Australia is a definite MUST ORDER. One of the juiciest patties I’ve ever had, together with the poutine and gravy, makes a great combination.
The place is always crowded and there’s always a queue, so you know it’s good! It can get a little crowded and quite noisy inside.
O. T.
A great place for a phat feed, cocktails are eh. You come here for the food, definitely. Food is big, delicious, greasy and perfect for when you need a burger,
H. O.
Great burgers with soft buns and juicy, moist patty, go with the Wagyu Burger for a nice and balanced burger or Blame the Australia if you want to go all out. Service can be rather poor during busy times and the smoke from the kitchen will choke you to death, and the noise inside the bar is deafening. Though forget the ambience and the service, the burgers are great.
G. G.
Friendly aand efficient staff despite it being very busy.
F.
Blame Australia as a must-try in Sydney, top notch beef patty.
J. C.
Everything you've heard about BL is true. Easily best burgers in Sydney without question. If it's your first time, definitely try the famous Blame Australia burger.
Get here before 12 on a Friday, or prepare to wait a while for a table..
V. L.
Nice place with a good atmosphere. Clean spacious tables, TVs and pokies area in the back. Good burgers, reasonable size servings and the fries are pretty good with the funny little herbs on it. Good for small groups as it's not too loud.
s. b.
Friendly bar vibes with epic burgers. 🤙🍔🍔
B. K.
Burgers burgers burgers.
You've heard it all before about how amazing it is. It really is all that. Blame Australia is a culinary artwork. Quality not quite as good as early days but understandable due to trying to control crowds I guess. Still delicious. Onion rings and their fries are excellent and the combo can only be made more perfect with a glass of stone and wood pale ale =)
W. W.
The chicken wings and the blame Australia burger; must trys. The Three Sheets on tap is very refreshing. Service is so very prompt and efficient
D. S.
Awesome burgers. Service is not bad either! Visit while you are in Sydney.
Pros:
* Very good and wonderful burgers. Even the vege burger (kumara and chick peas) is good!
* Service
Cons:
* Can get very crowded, so don't expect a seat during lunch on a Friday.
Neutral:
* Famous for the 'Blame Australia' burger. It is a must-have experience!
* Your hands will probably get dirty, due to the generous amount of sauce, and dripping.
* Service is nice and positive, but expect a bit of waiting.
K. G.
Great selection of drinks, however the food options are a bit limited to my liking. Truth to be told we only got there half an hour before closing time yet you'd still expect staff to be friendly and welcoming the customers, especially when you turn up with 9 paying guests.. good for the business, waiting staff would rather head home.. understandably, but the extra effort would go a long way. Bartender was friendly and got a smile too.
S. H.
Wonderful place to eat at, every single time! The burgers that they invent weekly just keep getting better and better!
You have got to try the Gucci Jang Gucci Jang burger once they re-release that burger onto the menu.
I would rate the food at this place a high 9/10 with the customer service being magnificent every single time.
m. p.
Easily the best burger place I've ever been to.
The meat is smoked and delicious, the poutine is out of this world, and honestly I've been there over a dozen times and not a single time was i disappointed with the quality- the mark of a great restaurant.
The clincher is that everything is actually priced reasonably and the food comes out super fast.
M. 2.
Burgers are often way to sloppy and impractical to eat. Great selection of beers. The Poutine is always a highlight. Place is always packed at Lunch, get in early or miss out.
S. C.
Great burgers as you'd expect and excellent choice of beers. Always a good choice for me when near circular Quay
A. L.
Great atmosphere and selection of beers. But let's be honest, we're here for the burgers. Blame Australia is still the penultimate burger. It's new cousins Flame Australia and Flame Chicanada are nice to switch it up but nothing can beat the Blame Australia, poutine and a pint. Can get super busy due to popularity but servers and kitchen are really efficient.
M. P.
Tried the Burger and chips and they were hearty and fully of flavor, zero complaints about the food. Service was great, fast and interactive.
If I have to fault one thing it would be sitting under the aircon and having the drips almost drip into my friends food, but it wouldn't stop me going again though.
Price you pay for cool air on a hot humid day, worth it!
H. H.
Great Wagyu burgers with $6 upgrade to fries and wings.
R. P.
This place is OK, a bit overrated in my opinion. Burgers were a lot juicier and better at Bario Cellar! Worth a visit here but there's better out there. Slightly disappointed after a friend had highly recommended unfortunately. The bacon was so hard it chipped my wife's tooth!
Burger was stacked with grease. Everyone left feeling sick with stomach ache afterwards.
A. B.
Wow! If I was going to die from a heart attack - I want to go with me clutching onto one of their burgers so everyone will understand how happy I was and that it was worth all worth it!
One if the best burger joint in town - there is a reason there are queues here! Book ahead to reserve a table.
w. y.
Great burgers, fries, milkshakes and drinks. I had a beef burger and my friend had a chicken burger. Both were amazing. Fries need to be bought separately for $3 extra if you have a burger, but at least they give the option for anyone who doesn't want them.
J. L.
Great burgers. My mate Mitch really recommends the Blame Australia
S. L.
Honestly makes my list of top 3 burgers in Sydney. Great selection of drinks and very upbeat vibe (even at 1pm on a workday). Burgers were incredible and relatively well priced.
C. M.
Just loved the amazing view of the city. Food was great. Very professional staff. Wonderful experience and highly recommended.Been here multiple times and always have had good service. Drinks are expensive but worth it for the quality and view. Perfect for first timers to Sydney to get a view of the city.
Y. S.
Absolutely LOVE this place. Burgers are amazing and hits you right in the spot. Any of their burgers paired with a Mozzarella patty will satisfy any burger cravings. And I have yet to find another burger place that can top theirs.
C. L.
Amazing burgers with great value! We had a few burgers to try and in my opinion the Blame Australia burger was the most outstanding. Plenty of drink options on the menu and overall a great place near circular quay for affordable food.
A. G.
Love this spot. Great burger joint - very yummy! Great atmosphere however is so popular that it's always busy so make sure you get there early or book a spot. Can be noisy but worth it!
C.
Regularly changing menu keeps things interesting including new burgers and drinks to try out. The burgers are know for their size, with plenty of meat they're more than a mouthful but have plenty of flavour and variety.
Y. S.
Above average burgers (but not amazing ones) , good service
K. R.
Popular place in CBD for their burgers. The place usually has a waiting for 20mins during lunch time. The burgers are great and very generous size. Although I found the burger to he too greasy compared to other places which are better.
G. B.
I've been to Bar Luca several times and the burgers have always been on point. One of the best burger joints in Sydney, hands down.
C. J.
Great burgers, good beer and a good vibe. The location is cool also, can get a bit busy though with the popularity of the burgers there. The sides are very good too, worth getting a few to try!
K.
Lamb ribs and bbq wings were smokin
c. m.
Excellent as always. The atmosphere is amazing, with great staff and even better food.
I love the way these guys cook their patties, perfectly medium rare.
Highly recommend
N. M.
Look it was alright. The service was friendly, the seasoning on the fries was good. The Blame Australia however, very much overkill. From a Canadian's standpoint, I'd ditch the maple smoked bacon in favour of regular streaky bacon and keep everything else the same. It became an arduous eat after a while; too much of an overwhelming flavour. In Australia, when we pour maple syrup over everything, the bacon ain't "maple smoked."
N. G.
Bar Luca was recently voted the best burger in Sydney, and while I can't swear it is the best I can definitely say you won't go away unhappy. Great burgers and beautiful onion rings.
One complaint... Who puts sweet pickles on a burger? Just wrong.
Y. S.
Popular place for nice burger. Their burger is really good but I would say not the best for me. It worth to try if you have never been there before. The place is packed almost always so better make a booking.
K. H.
Their fries defy culinary logic and are simply scrumptious. The blame Australia burger made me feel like I was back at home, and their wings are excellent. Chill atmosphere, decent daily specials.
C. D.
Great selection of beer and really tasty burgers to go with it.
A great place in the city to have an afternoon catchup or a long night out but still be able to get back home easily with the bus, trains or ferries all close by.
Give it a go!
K. S.
Found this place through instagram, thought we would check it out and all I can say is 10/10! Best burger I've ever had and the staff are all so wonderful! Will definitely be recommending, it's so good when a restaurant puts a lot of effort into their food, and you can definitely tell this with Bar Luca!!! Keep doing what you're doing!
M. C.
The food is fast and unique and taste so good. It's the burgers are extravagant and massive. You can customise your own burger which is amazing. And if you are Instagram happy, this is a place where you can Instagram unique burgers with that wow factor (I'm not an Instagramer) The place is packed everyday so make sure you reserve a table . And to save yourself any awkwardness, you order both food and drinks at the bar.
Q. L.
I've been here on several occasions. Never disappointed. This place is popular for the huge burgers and thick shakes. We always order too much. I think Flaming Chicanada is my fav burger there.
Very good place to come here with your woke mates on a Friday as a team bonding thing.
J. C.
Sydney's most inventive place for interesting burgers and cocktails. Good for a quick bite for lunch if in the area, but the best times are Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Place is a short walk from Circular Quay, suggest to eat there before kicking off a night on the town.
R. W.
Went for takeaway. Yummy food - must get the fries and truffle aioli to accompany any burger
C. S.
Busy vibrant bar for a drink and burger
B. S.
Been here on a friday night. The place is packed so make a booking if you would like a table. The burgers here are AMAZING! The chips also have a really tangy mouth watering seasoning.
Beer on tap was fresh and crisp.
The only reason I removed a star was because it gets a bit loud and that makes it difficult to have a conversation with friends.
F. R.
What a burger... One of the top on my list from around the world, for sure. Fries are fantastic, fresh and well seasoned. Good atmosphere at the local. Highly recommended.
C. S.
Burgers delicious and chips tasty. Too much sauce on the smoky bbq chicken wings and difficult to hold wings without getting sauce all over hands. Booze pricier than most locations. Otherwise great food and quick service.
I. D.
I am holiday from the UK and went here with a mate who is living out here who raved about the burgers. I just went for a classic cheeseburger, which was very good. Very nice interior and the beer served at a good temperature. I'd go back again!
T. L.
Love love love this place!! Used to come here almost once a week for lunch! Blame Australia is a must try! Poutine fries are so good! I love how you can add "hacks" to the burgers. The vegetarian burger with mushroom and the kumara pattie is heavenly ( and I'm not even vego) I love adding the mozzarella pattie to that too!
V. H.
Best burger I have had. The concoction of the meat patty, the bun, the bacon, poutine, pickle and the sauce were just perfect.
I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an AWESOME burger.
K. S.
Hard to find sitting at times - so book in advance! Chill vibes and a great place for group meet ups. Can be a cool place for a date, depending how much you want to talk as it can be fairly loud (both music and people chattering). The burgess are just the best and the beer.
P. A. P. J.
The downside of having the best reputation in town is that this increases the expectation on people. Yes, tasty but not over the moon. Also make sure to make reservations, I saw few people walking out the business on a weekday because the place was book out.
J. J.
Great burger menu. Always busy, suggest booking a table during weekday lunch. Love the Mac and cheese as a side. Some thick cut chips on the menu would be good.
S. M.
Really good chicken burger and great atmosphere for lunch!
R. P.
Words can not describe how awesome the burgers and milkshakes are... always busy best to make a reservation. Staff are wonderful!!
D. S.
Awesome burgers! Must visit when you're in town!
S.
I've been here twice, I've tried the chicken burger and the infamous Blame Australia. 4 star rating because service could be better. Blame Australia was pretty good, but I think the chicken in the chicken burger could be improved, but it was still good.
Worth the try
I.
Had lunch here today! The blame canada burger with a side of french fries and onion rings hits the spot. Highly recommended for burger lovers, meat was cooked perfectly unlike some places that over cook it.
A. F.
Food is amazing, service is usually fairly quick even when it's busy. During peak periods it can be very noisy and a little bit cramped but does not take away from the fact that if you enjoy a burger, this place is a must.
R.
One of my favourite byrger places. Can get quite crowded but only a sign of how good it is.
D. M.
Great burgers and very quick service, even at peak lunchtime.
H. A.
Amazing. Would recommend the Blame Australia burger!
S. M.
Fantastic service, beautiful drinks and very fast to come out with the food. The staff did a fantastic job making sure everyone was happy. Definitely make a reservation though, we had one and still had to be wait to be seated. What a great place and atmosphere though.
K. G.
Great service and delicious food
My son is autistic and loves the milkshakes they serve he doesn't like public places much but won't hesitate to come to bar luca thankyou for a great experience with friendly staff and great food
A. N.
Got takeaway - chicken karaage burger and BL burger. Both amazing! Love the buns! Chicken was crunchy with good sauce, pickled carrots and ginger went very well in it. BL burger was juicy and well cooked. Good sized burgers. Quick service - ready in 10 min.
E. G.
Good and fast service and amazing burgers! The chips are fresh and wonderfully seasoned. The weekly specials are a great choice for those looking for something a bit more special
L. F.
The burgers are great, but it needs a little renovation and more seats!!! We don't go anymore as there is a serious lack of available seating and queues out the door. You can get take away though...
P. D.
🤤🤤🤤🤤
My favourite meal here is a cheeseburger with bacon and a poutine. Portions are LARGE so consider sharing a poutine...or just indulge!
Definitely the best poutine I’ve had in Australia. Now it’s not what you’ll get ordering in after a big night in Montreal but it’s good and really hits the spot!
Typically order takeaway so not really sure what the survive is like but takeaway orders are typically ready in under five minutes.
E. G.
Undoubtedly one of the best burger bars in Sydney! Up there with Mary’s & Burger Project 🔥🔥🔥
S.
I absolutely loved this place when I was living in Sydney. Superb burgers and still one of the best burger I've had so far in my life.
S. D.
Fast service, nice environment and good burgers
