I want to start by saying that I had a generally positive experience here, the food was great in general. Everything was well priced and I really enjoyed the mentaiko udon. The kids meal also exceeded our expectations. Now I want to talk about the legendary or should I say "signature" wasabi burger. It looked great when it arrived on the plate, held together by a steak knife. I loved how the top bun was toasted and how its bitterness went really well with the other ingredients. But there was too much sauce which made the bottom bun a bit soggy and the dish a bit too salty for my liking. Nevertheless, it was still a good attempt at a great concept burger.

This place has always been on my list! Food is good and well priced. Good burgers - the prawn katsu was crunchy and generous on the prawns. The beef burger was juicy. The pork haloumi roll was innovative, though sauce/pork was a bit too much and I couldnt really taste the haloumi. Definitely try their wide range of burgers though!

Stumbled across this gem with a group of mates not too long ago and have been coming back as a group almost religiously ever since. The food is absolutely cracker with a unique take on Japanese cuisine. The owner/chef is just a little bonus on top. He's a super chill bloke that is more than accommodating with his customer service. Would give 6 stars if possible, can't recommend this place enough!!

It is a really good taste with any of food! I had order double classic burger special$23 I choose spicy wing and milk shake taste amazing. Authentic and delicious! Very unique selection of food with an exciting modern twist on the Japanese cuisine. We ordered the iced coffee and Katsu burger and they both brought back memories of Japan. The owner is also really lovely & friendly, and even brought out a water bowl for our dog as we ordered take away. Can’t wait to go back!

The food is delicious, well priced ($12 for the burgers pictured!), and there's enough variety to make us want to go back and try more. They have coffee AND alcohol for drinks. The owners and cooking staff are friendly, even took extra time to modify a recipe and make it gluten free for me! Ambience is good, restaurant is cozy, literally 10/10 in every aspect. Our first visit here pleasantly surprised us. We had an Entertainment Book and thought there was nothing to lose to pay a visit and indeed we discovered a neighbourhood gem! We ordered the Large Chips with the Spicy Mayo, Cheese Sauce & Lemon Garlic Aioli, 2 x Sashimi Taco Cups, a Wasabi Wagyu Beef Burger & the Prawn Katsu Rice Burger. We shared a Yuzu Citrus Soda as well. The chips were the amongst the best thick cut fries I’ve ever had with a red seasoning sprinkled on it. The cheese sauce was to die for and hubby loved the lemon garlic aioli as well. The Sashimi Taco Cups were fresh and very impressive that the taco cups were freshly fried. The only downside was that there was a little too much dressing which made it a bit messy to eat as the dressing was spilling out everywhere. The Wasabi Wagyu Burger is truly something special. That hit of wasabi when you take the first bite does not mislead you that it’s advertised as it is. My Prawn Katsu Burger had nice crispy rice patties and a succulent piece of prawn katsu inside. The only downside was I felt the burger was a little too oily. Perhaps if the rice patties were of a steamed kind, it may not have been so overwhelming? The service was attentive and our food and drink came quite quickly. A small restaurant with a small kitchen but impressive what they could pump out! The restaurant owner is a very warm and accommodating Japanese man who added a special touch to our time here. It’s really nice to see someone engage with their customers. We would definitely return to try the other mains offered on the menu that’s not in the burger section!

Please make your burger bigger. Actually the overall size of the burger should increase by 25%. Keep up the good work, I will return surely.

The entrees and burgers are so delicious. They have a japanese twist to it which make them so unique. My favourite burger us the chicken teriyaki one. It has a sweet aftertaste but with a savoury punch. For anyone who enjoys the mix of sweet and salt, I would definitely recommend this burger. For those who prefer the standard burger, the Aussie burger is a pure delight. And dnt forget to get some entrees, they are all delicious.

Great little venue for tasty burgers and snacks. The lotus chips, wings and wasabi burger are all really tasty. The serving size is modest but flavours are well balanced. Staff are super nice and service is prompt. Venue is small so best for 1-4 people. They also have Asahi on tap which is great. They accept card and cash. Parking is a bit tricky as they are located on Military Road so try one of the side streets and walk up otherwise can easily catch a bus.

I went here on a whim and could not believe it. The burgers here are sensational and there's a huge variety. You can go for classics, but the Japanese style burgers are also great. And you can have a beer while eating them. Classic. There's also some tasty sides and more traditional Japanese cuisine. The burgers are way cheaper than you'd find in a pub and the owner is a great fella. Destined to become a Neutral Bay staple.

The burger selection is very interesting and I will be coming back for more. Literally spent 10 minutes on deciding with my wife. Nice that it didn’t take long for them to arrive. Wasabi mayo beef burger, which was pictured on the wall, was very good. Chicken katsu burger also very good, nicely presented and holding together, crisp coleslaw and super super crisp chicken. The place needs cleaning though, everything is sticky and greasy. I know it’s just a burger bar but if you have table service then you need to look after the tables. We found the staff not to be much attentive.

I went there a Friday at 6pm, 2 persons. The place is well located close to the main road, the restaurant is a bit small but cozy. It looks like a kind of secret place. The staff were nice and friendly. We ordered a Japanese style burger, and a cheese burger. Beef was good. We were also surprised by the sauce and taste. Unusual sauce for burger but extremely pleasant. I would definitely come back and recommend it if you haven't tried it yet.

It’s Interesting that there’s a small selection of Japanese burgers on the menu whilst the cuisine is Japanese and majority of the burgers are your typical burger you’ll find anywhere else at “Local Joe’s”. I found the prices to be high compared to size of delivery of flavour. I prefer the previous Japanese business to this burger business at the same location and so did the public based on the current low volume of customers, I don’t think it will last at this location. Service was great, food was 6/10 and probably explains why as there were only three customers in the 18 seat restaurant at 6pm.

Buddhaliscious makes great burgers - full stop. Clearly, a lot of attention has gone into creating a really nicely prepared range of traditional and non-traditional hamburgers. I can't understand why anyone would go to a place like Ume Burger when an offering like this is so clearly superior. Impressively, the menu extends beyond just burgers. We had other items such as the fried chicken (kara-age) and they were universally excellent. I'd thoroughly recommending trying menu items other than just the burgers. The Okonomiyaki Burger isn't really a 'burger', but it is excellent and you must give it a go. My only complaint here is the seating. Not their fault, but they can only accommodate a maximum group of four and most seating is for only two people. It would be great to be able to come here with a larger group of friends. But don't let that deter you, this place is the bomb. Fantastic!

A really amazing, hidden away, hole in the wall place. Definitely the sort of special spot you bring someone to to show off your knowledge of the area. The staff are lovely, it's got a nice aesthetic, even the water's cold and plentiful. The space is small (2-3 person tables as far as I saw), but totally fine for a couple. And that's not saying anything about the food: it's fusion that does both ends of the fusion really well. Amazing hot chips, gyoza, conventional burgers and the fusion burgers (had the okonomiyaki burger) are really good (though messy of course). Definitely recommend.

Stopped by because I saw a good review on fatties burgers appreciation society and was not disappointed! Ordered the crispy chicken burger like the review suggested and was left extremely satisfied with my choice. Chicken was the perfect amount of crispy and juicy, with the jalapenos adding a little extra juice and just the perfect amount of spice. I had my mind on the aussie, which has the works for only 14$, but finally settled and was completely satisfied. Staff were friendly as promised and were genuinely interested in how my experience went. Girlfriend had the mushroom and haloumi, which she said was extremely flavoursome - albeit a little oily . Will cross Sydney again to check out some of the other tasty looking options, thanks boys!
