Excellent service and covid-safe. The beef burger are average, while the beef patties are plump, they lack that certain flavour punch other burger joints provide. Their fish burger is a actually pretty decent though.

The best burger I've had in a really long time. The beef patties are ground in-house using high quality beef. The loaded fries were absolutely to die for. It's got a great old school milk-bar atmosphere, I won't order a burger anywhere else.

Great burgers at very reasonable prices ($9-$12). Kids burgers at $5. Fish burger was delicious, as was the hood burger. Fries were a generous serving size. Credit card surcharge of 1.5% and the soft serve machine was broken. Good for groups, friendly service. Will be back!

Great opening at Burgerhood. Hood burger and milo shake are delicious. I’m not a big fan of shoestring fries but these are nice, more salt and herbs would be my preference. Workers looked after the big line outside in the sun with ice cream for kids and water for all. I’ll be back to try to Bloody Mary burger.

Tasty and simple and Classical American Style burgers, which in my opinion is the way that all Burgers should be! The staff are great and the food is even better. The old school feel of this burger shop is an easy stroll to get to from any area in Balmain or Birchgrove and if you were to ask me, I would say its worth a walk from Pyrmont. My recommendation is that you grab all of your friends, park yourself at a table in the outdoor seating area, grab yourself a double cheeseburger, a vanilla shake and a side of fries and enjoy!

Great burger for me. Light fluffy bun that holds well together, fresh salad, tasty patty and very nice spicy mayonnaise. Almost seemed healthy!

Good food and very substantial portions. Can't go past the veggie burger and the peanut butter milkshake (although I couldn't finish it because it was so rich). Good location with plenty of outdoor seating. Staff are nice and very kid friendly

Good presentation, if you like a good burger not the place for you. fries are great and milkshakes nice. The Hood burger was manageable however the Bloody Mary burger left more to be desired with wrong choice of ingredients and placement. Both patties were medium rare which is good but if left the bottom bun soaked... Do better.

My partner and I really enjoyed our meal at Burgerhood. We both got the Hood burger and a side of chips. The portions are good and the price matches the decent quality of the food.

The meat is cooked medium, the bun is soft and moist, their sauce is deliciously tangy and their cheese melts over the meat as it should. The service was friendly and since it was late, we were served our food promptly. They have seating both indoors and out but I can imagine it'd get full quickly as there isn't lots of space.

Go for the cheeseburgers and sweet potato fries! Burgerhood is open every day until late so it's a great option when you're out and about drinking in Balmain. On my first few visits the burgers were absolutley excellent, about 2 weeks ago I ordered takeaway and wasn't quite as good but the flavours were still there. Perhaps a different cook? Reasonably priced and bonus free soft serve cone (self serve) if you dine in.

Nice little spot, excellent service and you get exactly what you come for with the food. Their American style burger is delicious, and the Milo milkshake is absolutely insane. Their servings are big - I would recommend sharing the side fries and shake. It was relaxed and informal and they cater to kids with colouring in and a free soft serve! So nice and relaxed for parents.

Like some other reviews mentioned, these burgers were really quite salty and unpleasant. The chips were quite over-salted too. The vanilla milkshake was really nice, though, as was the fact that they offer free soft serves and have a cute interior for the restaurant. But I don't think that the actual burgers really stand up to the hype at all, unfortunately.

Had lunch here today. I had the double cheese burger, my daughter had the hood. Both burgers were very good, cooked perfectly and greast taste. The coleslaw was good. The fries however were way too salty to enjoy. I guess the thing that peeved me a little was the surcharge for using my card.. If I buy a $4 coffee without being hit with a surcharge, why the charge when spending $30+.. would certainly return for the burgers.. with cash!!

Only marked down because of the ridiculously limited wines available, and their price. If you're not going to allow BYO then you need to have a couple of quaffing reds around the $35-40 price point. Popped in the other night and all that was off on offer was half a bottle of pinot noir. Odd match for rustic burgers! Said burgers reliably good. (And disappointing the owner only seems to respond to 5 star reviews..... I've offered constructive criticism and have to acknowledge it's being ignored. Always enlightening when people think they have nothing to learn. Shame!)

When the hood burgs are good, they're really, really good. When they aren't perfect they're still really good. The meat patties are the best I've ever had (and I fetishise burgers). You can actually taste the fresh, slightly charred, salty beef through all the other ingredients which is extremely rare. Buns are perfect; soft and light but they hold together. Dropping a star because the customer service can be a bit iffy at times and today my burger had almost zero sauce on it which was disappointing. If they worked on their consistency a bit more this would be a 5 star takeaway joint.

First experience I had was great. Second looked friggin awesome on arrival but was a mouthful of salt. I ate 1/3 of it and left. They put bacon in the Pattie which if you get a salty batch means it's ruined. I would prefer they didn't add it in the Pattie and offer streaky bacon as a hack. When I asked why they don't offer bacon they said they were trying to be a true American burger experience. Every burger place I've been to Stateside offers bacon so this didn't make sense. Plus they would make a shitload more money if they offered bacon. Odd. Just really odd.

Overall the burgers get a thumbs up, everything was just really fresh and not greasy. The patty was a little pink and juicy, the salad (lettuce/tomatoe/red onion) ratio was just right and it came on a fresh bricoche bun. The only downside was the horseradish mustard in there house sauce was slightly too strong for me but it might be ok for others. The fries were nice and crispy but were heavy handed with the salt. Outside of the food it was super quick (10min wait) and staff were friendly and attentive.

The 'Hood Burger' is actually legit. Great chuck & brisket blend with tight, spicy house sauce. I had a vanilla & milo shake and house chips which had pepper in the seasoning (A+) and took a bite of the Fish Burger which had mushy peas and smoked tartare. Everything tastes fresh. Closest clean "after-burger" feeling since In-N-Out near LAX.

Really yummy burgers with the usual choices. No crazy over-fried, over-staked piles of slop. These are the real deal. Have a shake, beer or wine with your burger with a side of fries or pickles along with other things. Finish it off with a soft serve. Perfect for families or a group of friends. If you're adventurous, then go next door to Whilhelmina's for some wine or a cocktail.
