Had a really good experience here. The owner is awesome and was really accommodating of our Halal requirement. Gave us a massive helping of chips and the burger was really yummy.

Deans is a Newtown institution. You can’t say you’ve been to Newtown if you haven’t been here. My now husband brought me here on a date 7 years ago and its been 3 years since we’ve been back but the quality is the same. Hot chippies in butchers paper and burgers in brown paper bags (just like a tuckshop order) straight off the grill. Honestly our favourite place to eat in the area. We hope this place is open for years to come so we can bring our tikes back for burger and milkshake nights.

Absolutely amazing staff, so kind and genuine and accommodating. Food is beyond incredible, the burgers are always fresh off the grill, hot, dripping with sauce and juices and just wonderful. I love this place so much and I will always come back here. 😁💙💜

Eaten here previously and hadn't in quite sometime. Like most people say, it is the great Australian style hamburger. Like you used to get when you were a kid, for those of a certain age. The best thing though is that they are made so well that they don't disturb the rose coloured view you can have of those memories. The burger was made fresh and still hot once I drove it the 8 minutes home to eat. And they have Kirk's in the fridge.

Top bloke. Good food. Just need to add a few sauce options onto the Menulog app i.e. Tartar sauce and maybe some scallops and wedges and umm lol Definitely would start loving to feast here more often. Legend for the tartar! Lol

Yeah, I can see why this place is popular. Locals frequent it and the owner knows everyone. The vibe is definitely 80s local tuck shop, and the menu reflects it. The big miss was the chips - loved that it was wrapped in paper, got me excited! But they aren't great unfortunately. Also found the menu board a bit hard to read and missed out on eating some things that looked great because I didn't know they were an option. Probably not in a hurry to return but wouldn't be mad if I ended up here.

So many burgers to choose from, everything is freshly home cooked. Chips are good. The staff are lovely. While you're waiting check out the signed photos from many rock legends. Take home some of the vegan caramel slice, it's seriously good I'll be back to try the potato scallops

You know that burger joint you grew up near? The one that always did a solid burger, on a proper bread bun, with the chips that were sorta chunky but never soggy with just a hint of crispness and a wadge of chicken salt. The sorta place that existed back before Google reviews were a thing. The joint that didn't have fancy flavours in a milkshake and did them with old milkshake maker and with extra malt if you asked for it? That's the kind of food that you get at Dean's and hot damn is it worth it. Just a damn solid burger with bloody good chips at a good price. I will eat here again and I recommend you do too.

Deans make the best burgers in Sydney in my opinion. If we have people come stay and we don't want to cook deans is always on the list of suggested Take away shops. They have a huge range of burgers, decent prices and service is always great. It's always good to sit and take in the sights of newtown out the front of people watching amuses you... top stop!

Dean's Diner is one of the original Newtown stores located next to the old Sandringham Hotel. They make fantastic burgers and their chips/spring rolls are really nice. It's what you would call good old fashioned food and the quality has always been the same. The owner Steve is a good bloke and very hard working, he is in there nearly everyday.

Went here on a whim and wasn't disappointed at all. The choices are unlimited and the sizing is good and didn't cost an arm and a leg. The thing that made it stand out the most was the great service. The lady there was extremely helpful and sweet. I will definitely be going again.

We landed her on the tail end of a big night out. At first I couldn't decide what to have what with the massive burger menu. It was almost like looking at a gourmet pizza menu. I finally settled on a Greece Lightning. A combination of lamb, haloumi and tsatsiki. Absolutely delicious. It was a great experience. If you are ever in Newtown find this place and have, well, anything. It's all good.

Ammazing. If you cant find a burger your looking for a Deans Diner then your in trouble. The have an extensive menu. Very relaxed enviroment and friendly staff. They also sell a variety of other meals for eat-in or takeaway. One of the best cures for a hangover is a Dean's Diner Bugger with Chips and a Thickshake.
