Mary’s burgers have always been good, and the circular quay shop is no different. They have a big drinks selection, and burgers are available in vegan options. The fried chicken is super juicy and crunchy, chips are crunchy too, maybe just overfried by a bit? I do like my chips crunchy though. Boyfriend loved his Mary’s burger, but decided next time he’ll get the double.

OK LISTEN. I have tried many vegan burgers. I’ve never had anything as good as this one. I ordered the vegan chicken burger, which was fried cauliflower, and it was simply amazing. The flavor was perfect. My friend who ordered the vegan cheeseburger also absolutely loved it. This is the perfect place to come before seeing a show at the opera house if you want to avoid other mediocre and overpriced options. I can’t wait to return!

As I have said before, man the food is good here. Had the usual Double Mary's with Potatoes and Gravy, had to introduce my mate Pulini here! My boy went for the double whammy! Enjoyed the setting and atmosphere, staff and service was great and they were really friendly. Shout out to Shannon, Aiden and Staff for looking after us, definitely coming back.

Customer service was okay. Complications in the kitchen (something up with the chef and fryer oil had to be changed). Took about 40mins to get our food because chef didn’t want to send out food without chips. Asked if we could get other items first and were told it won’t be long. Everything eventually came out all together. Vegan Mary’s was okay. Kind of bland to be honest. Vegan mash and gravy just tasted like nuttelex. Half cauliflower was good but larger florets were under seasoned. Chip portions were very different on each burger. Asked for pickles on the side when order came out, staff forgot until we walked out. We were offered a complimentary drink but we didn’t want to drink any alcohol or we would have ordered it with our meal.

Really yummy burgers and fries! Nice outdoor seating and cool indoor interior! This chicken burger was extremely tasty! This place is great for vegans/veggies as there are a lot of meat free options and they can make all their burgers vegan friendly.

Melbourne needs a Mary’s. Service is great, Burgers are fantastic, try the Mary’s Burger, soft bun, patty cooked perfectly and full of flavour and excellent fries top it off, but the best part, it’s the perfect size, you don’t need a mouth as big as Donald Trump to get a good bite; wash it down with a Suds Lager and your life will be that much better. Give the chicken burger a try too, so good.

Good bar and food options for this end of town. Cool vibe, a bit grungey and good service. Good for groups. Can eat inside or outside. Great selection of beers on tap. Table service (including for drinks) was a real plus and quick . Food is mainly burgers and chips (simple but done well) . Do have Vegan options as well. Most burgers are around $20 including chips. Music is good. Will be coming back!

Good thing that Mary's open in this side of the town. The burger space around this part of the city is getting more interesting. Their burger is still good as in their other branches. The patty always juicy and they bun and sauce is always on points. Good burger!

Not from the area and stopped in because they had vegan options on the menu. Turns out the whole menu can be made vegan, choice of about 6 burgers all come with fries and about 10 different sides/ other options. Dark red lighting and candle wax dripping down the walls past dead plants. Styling is great you. Can sit for 10min just taking in the decor. Burger came out fast and tasted great, just like a home made comfort food. Good music and could still have a conversation. Wait staff were friendly and polite checking in a few times throughout our stay. Seating inside and outside, wheelchair friendly (although high style tables) and vegan friendly. We will be back 👍

Wonderful venue with a similar aesthetic atmosphere to Frankies, just nearby. I'd recommended initially dropping in during a weekday outside typical workplace lunch hours, missing the surprisingly heavy rush of businesspeople from the surrounding buildings. Excellent music, very friendly staff. They've made adjustments considering the current COVID-19 pandemic, and I felt safe eating here. People are spaced out, the staff are careful and very aware, but yet it doesn't retract from the atmosphere of the place. The walls are coated in scribbles and scrawls, from light-hearted messages to a particularly long monologue regarding one's missing dog. It's funky, with red lighting, cobwebs layered over the single red light bulb that wasn't working (couldn't tell if this was purposeful/fake webs or literally just a spider having a good time like everyone else) and quirkily-named drinks. The drinks included 'Daddy Issues', 'Baby Maker', 'Horse's Head', 'Nose Candy', and 'Barb Not Wired' (the non-alcoholic option). They must rotate the menu as when we went there were only three burger options - one being vegan. All burgers come with a very impressive portion of chips. The cheeseburger was delicious. Would absolutely recommend this place, at all times of day. Will be back! I trust that they'll deal with any potential COVID-19 issues with calmness and ease.

Vegan options are all over this place - we were guaranteed that they make them apart of the animal products. Quick and smiley service . Burgers were damn good and the fried cauliflower the best In the world. Wow! Did I mentioned that their whole menu can be transferred to vegan 🌱? Well it is !

Mary's has a well-earned reputation of being one of Sydney's best burger bars. The great thing about Mary's Circular Quay is they also do vegan options for all their burgers, making their own plat-based patties that are mouth-wateringly good. Go for the burgers, stay for the rock vibes.

This is now my favourite Mary's venue. The vegan burgers are great. Pictured here is the vegan version of a Mary's burger. A+ food, atmosphere and customer service. I stopped drinking a while back, but I'm sure the cocktails are great as well. Mary's is super consistent, so you can't go wrong!

Kind of pricey but the vegan options are really tasty. We got vegan fried chicken burgers (fried cauliflower) and a mushroom burger- both had a really good sauce and the vegan cheese was nice and melty. The fried cauliflower was delicious and I would order it again the next time I go. The atmosphere was very cosy with soft lights and candles, but kept lively with classic rock music. Staff were also really friendly and gave good recommendations.

Inviting and unique atmosphere. Very interesting looking decor and seating. It is quite an impressive experience walking in to this place. It is so well thought out and a pleasure to sit in here for any amount of time. It has a dim dark and warm feel to it, a kind of heavy metal candle lit ambience. The walls are filled with graffiti and art that the customers can draw on. The food here is simple but amazing. Very fresh and well made. Everything on the menu has a vegan alternative which is awesome. The chips are very good too. There are a lot of options for drinks and they taste great and are very well made. The seating has a pub / bar vibe to it but they are really spacious and comfortable. The service goes above and beyond to help the customers and they are extremely friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable about all the offerings. It is a bit on the pricier side but still very worth it. The vegan cheese tastes amazing here !! Overall a very pleasurable and tasty and comfortable experience here. I definitely will come back.

This place makes burgers the way I like them. They get it!! The tunes were great, I loved the vibe & the service was amazing. The staff didn't hassle me whilst I was elbows deep in chips with a mouth full of delicious burger just to ask "how's everything?". They waited until I was sitting there with an empty basket in front of me & a stupid grin on my face before they said "do you need anything else?". That's when I persuaded myself to get the egg flip. Great way to finish an amazing meal.

Probably one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. As a lifelong New Yorker and diehard Shake Shack fan, Mary’s burger actually made me stop and think, is this better than Shake Shack? The bun was soft and pillowy, the patty was rich and meaty, the cheese oozed through the bites, the sauce snuck up on my taste buds, and the lettuce and tomato were crisp and hardy. And somehow, the fries were like McDonald’s fries, in the best way possible. They were little sticks of joy, crisp but not crunchy, with some gently soft with oil but not soggy. I’d wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good burger.

Food was as saucy as I remember at Mary's Newtown. Chips were delish. Things to improve on: provide GF buns (they offered lettuce cups or hashbrowns). My problem with the hashbrowns was that the load of sauce sogified the hashbrowns. The oil of the hashbrowns weakened the paper underneath and because the place is so dark, I didn't realise most of us were probably eating the paper as it easily split when scooping with a fork. That ruined my appetite but other than that, was enjoyable and tasty prior to realizing I was eating paper haha

Had the vegan cheese burger. It's not the best vegan burger I've eaten but bonus points for making their own patties and not using beyond meat. All of the vibe of the original Mary's with an outdoor area. The burgers are on point, the cocktails are delicious and the vibe is as rock and roll as you'd expect. Definitely get there early as you can as this place will fill up super quick, however the staff will do everything they can to accommodate you as quickly as possible. You haven't lived until you've had a Mary's burger.

Love the Mary's vegan burger! It's one of my veggie burger faves - tastes amazing. If you're veggie you are also able to swap the bun to a milk bun. Fries are like a better version of Macca's style ones, so salty and moreish. Good beers too. Great for a lunch or casual dinner. Dog friendly outside too 🙌

If you enjoy a bit of loud Manson and Deftones with your Brooklyn style burger and fries, then Mary's delivers!!! The venue is dark, with an ambience that screams punk, rock, goth, with candle-lit tables and crucified roses. Lots to look at! Mary's is a real experience!! The staff are super cool, down to earth, and really friendly. And the burgers; well unlike conventional places, Mary's burgers are super cheesy, extra greasy, freshly grilled, and just f@#ken good!!! If vampires ate burger, THIS IS WHERE THEY'D DINE!!

Such a nice place for my Friday lunch! The menu is easy and yummy. The staff are easy going and friendly, they will do everything they can so you dont wait too much (because it can get pretty busy for lunch, at least peak hour Friday). Best vegan burger I've had. The patty almost has the texture of meat, and certainly all of its savoury flavour. The cheese didn't have a plastic texture or taste like blended nut mash which a lot of vegan cheeses do. Point off for the super loud music inside (I want to have a conversation without shouting my chips all over the place) and the prices of beer are almost the same at an airport ($13 something for a schooner of 4 pines??).

The staff were so friendly and welcoming and really added to our experience for the first-time dining at Mary’s Circular Quay. Our group all enjoyed vegan burgers, and I particularly loved the half cauliflower burger with was packed with some really tasty sauces. Definitely up there with the best I’ve had! Visited Mary's at Circular Quay on their opening night. The servers were really on the ball and made sure we had everything we needed and explained the menu well. The food was great as always. I tried the vegan Mary's burger and felt that although the patty didn't hold too well, the overall structure of the burg kept it easy to eat. The cheese, sauce and bun deserve commendation however it's important to know how rich these burgers can be. The bun is quite sweet and overall it feels a little indulgent but the smallish size of it keeps it from being too heavy. The chips weren't hot but for an opening night that was packed at 5pm I wouldn't hold it against them while they're getting their bearings. The location is close to the station and the decor is a modernised and more welcoming version of its grungier Newtown sibling. Not a beer drinker but the one they recommended me was excellent. Overall, a really pleasant experience and keen to see how they go as they settle in.

When to Mary’s to see what the fuss was about. I had the Mary’s Burger which is basically a classic burger - beef patty, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. It was a decent burger but nothing to rave about. Can find this type of burger at any ol pub. Also had the chicken which was tasty but again nothing special. Service was ok. The pricing is a bit on the steep side.

The same great food from Mary's and same hip vibe as their joint in Newtown. The service was a little lacking but we think it's due to it being a new place. Our waiter mess up our orders and we had to ask other waiters to check on order twice. However, we weren't given an update until we pressured the waiter that we have to leave on a certain time. They eventually admitted that they mess up the order and told us all our food plus drinks are on the house. That redeemed our faith in Mary's, but would've been nice not to have to chase up and put pressure on staff if can be avoided. However, food was still delish!! Hope they improve the service and it would've been a 10/10 place!

They live upto their Newtown reputation. Everything from the fried chicken to the beef & chicken burgers hits the spot. Tried the cauliflower the other day, it was surprisingly good. Service is quick. You may be able to get a reservation at Bar Luca easily since it's all about Mary's these days atleast for me. :) Expect a queue to get in. Get there early enough to beat the queue.

The small menu at Mary's nails it with their take on burgers and fried offerings. The mushroom burger and the fried cauliflower will not disappoint vegetarian friends. Fun cocktails and the staff are relaxed but efficient. Sitting outside at a table on the the square was nice on a beautiful Sydney summer's evening.
