Previously left 3 stars as the room really rates it but on second thought it reflects the excellent value for money. Everything was very satisfactory and having a small desk with comfortable chair was really worth it. The lighting was elegant and the room was very clean. The bed was OK, but the quilt and pillows were a bit tired. Bathroom is brilliant and has been updated recently, which pushed my rating higher. The shower is lovely!
Having a room at the back of the hotel is not recommended because of what sounds like a service lift starting at 6 or 7 in the morning. Be aware that carparking is very tight and not for large vehicles.
What really made me adjust my review is the exemplary customer service that was offered from everyone there. I was always well regarded whenever I entered the lobby and any requests during my 3 day stay I had were promptly serviced.
Thanks!

Large and old charm motel/hotel.
Very small and tight parking, only one elevator goes down to the parking. Do not stay here if you have a low car ☺️
Love the old elevators
Smaller window in each room with the only air flow been provided from the AC.
I felt the AC was very under powered as we had to buy a pedestal fan for more circulation, a ceiling fan would be nice.
A very clean motel, expect to eat out or get room service all the time.
Amazing friendly staff, very helpful.
The restaurant, eating area is closed because of COVID.
well stocked drink and snack machines on each level which we abused a little.
Amazing value

Really great! ...excellent staff, walking distance to everything, clean room, handy parking underneath the building. Anyone complaining on here needs to think about what they paid... you get what you pay for and the Grosvenor is definitely amazing value for money.

I highly recommend this place, please read!!!
I'm new to adelaide and upon booking the room Tamara helped us with directions on how to get there, we were previously sleeping in our car which was very hot and uncomfortable we had only booked for 1 night and on arrival to the room it was very hot In there, they then upgraded our room to a cooler room and awesome views, we then explained that we had no where to go and would end up sleeping in the car again which then they booked us another night with discounted price, I couldn't doubt this place, I couldn't recommend this place more.
I highly recommend it.
Happy with the service very professional and polite.

Went there as I had won an accommodation voucher. Got there only to be told that the queen room we were originally booked into was now not available, so they were upgrading us to a King suite!! Awesome!!
We were greeted by smiling staff, for whom nothing was too hard. Friendly feel.
The room.... well, first....great view, comfy bed, nice amenities. Breakfast was nice, but we slept in and missed the coco pops🤣
All in all a really nice place to stay, with great service and friendly staff !

Good enough for the price, which was very fair. Don't expect luxury - it's pretty standard. Room very basic, no extras at all. Just tea bags, coffee sachets and sugar plus milk pods (only) in the fridge - not even a bottle of water. Reception very friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast, at the moment (they say it's due to Covid) is a paper bag with your choice of very basic breakfast items (nothing wrong - just really ordinary). If you want more than carbs, then save your $15 and go elsewhere for brekkie. My "dinner" consisted of vending machine items as the motel's current advertising still says they have a restaurant and room service and I didn't realise there was no food available onsite. My one gripe was that the toilet hadn't been cleaned and the last visitor left a calling card in the loo. Just a bit grossed out.

This place is a very standard hotel for hotels and still clean and well presented and I got a FREE upgrade to a bigger better room which is fantastic considering it was a late check-in.
Room was comfortable but didn't seem like a major upgrade (maybe just bed size and name of the room etc).
B'fast included even tho I didn't know it but never venturrd down!

Comfortable and clean budget priced hotel with helpful and friendly staff. Good location across the road from the railway station. Continental style breakfast can be included on request at no extra cost.

Clean and comfortable stay. Hotel building is quite old but well maintained. Staff very friendly. Upgrade required in common alleyways, lift need some work. Good value for money if staying in the city, will definitely be back.

Great location.
The receptionist was friendly and check in was fast. I did enjoy the accommodation but the air conditioning is just not good enough. I believe it is a central unit AC and I set it on number 2 and yet I still sweat in the middle of the night. It would have been better if the hotel provide air conditioning unit in each room considering this is a 4 star accommodation. Bed was good but the pillow was just flat. Did not get the desired height even by stacking them. Probably has loss it’s fluff.
Breakfast was the other major complain, I was very disappointed to see a chef who wore a chef jacket and serves nothing but store bought products. Perhaps the hotel should consider freshly cooked bacon and eggs? Baked beans maybe? Fresh toasts? That would be nice. Will definitely come back.
Update:
Thank you for the hospitality. I enjoyed my stay this time. Room was very comfortable, air conditioning was perfect, toilet was spacious and tidy.

Once given the correct room I'd booked, it was great. However, curtains need to be upgraded to prevent outside light entering the room, as it was like sleeping with a night light on!
Pillows need replacing as all 8 were no thicker than 1/4 inch! Awoke with a neck ache.
Mattresses very firm, so also woke with back ache.
No face washes to clean make-up and face!
Wasn't impressed seeing blood stains on the carpet!!! Especially with Covid ATM
Staff were terrific.

Bed was comfortable and reception guy Steve was great helpful and happy to bring my uber eats up to my room when it arrived 👌🏽
But what I didn't like and I usally am not negative but the Outdated tv system was useless couldn't even pull up a tv guide a smart TV would have been much better and more enjoyable I was looking forward to relaxing in my room after my drs appointment, also ice machine was broken so no ice available and restaurant closed down so no cooked breakfast or meals available

It has been a nice staycation in Grosvernor hotel. Room is outdated but bathroom is up to date and clean.
The idea of having package breakfast in brown bag is brilliant. We can still have the experience of having a full breakfast while maintaining Covid safe practice. Also it is really cutting down on waste food.
Great job !!!

Great staff pleasant stay, average dungeon style carpark for anything but a small car. Take advantage if offered of the included CarePark 150m further down the North Terrace with generous parking.

Great staff and facility. We got an updrade to a balcony suite due to the need to park a mere 100M down the road (for free) as it was a busy night. Great shower pressure was a pleasure to use and the view was good. Mainly I liked the friendly reception.

3.5 stars
Rooms were spacious. Other than lolly papers found under the bed and lounge it was clean. TV remote was missing it batteries. I had informed them before arrival that I had a baby with me, a cot was already set up our room, and made with sheets, very happy. Breakfast was nice, the fresh food was indeed fresh and everything was in date, thank you we enjoyed our stay. I do recommend staying here for short stays.
(Gym and pool closed due to covid)

Excellent customer service from Manoj the manager of the hotel. He was super helpful with absolutely everything that we needed including adding an extra night, helping with parking and keeping the hotel covid safe. will definitely stay here again, thank you!

Close to our function. Adequate for what we wanted. Nothing flash, went to sleep ,had a coffee in the morning. Happy enough. 👍

The staff more than helpful room nice and neat a bit tired bit strange to have building column right next to the bed

Pros:
Friendly staff, other than the sheets the room was clean
Cons:
Marks on the walls, chipped paint and the sheet had some dried blood stain on it, small but still very obvious
Advice:
Not worth more than $100 for a night

Spacious room, clean and tidy, great location...not much view as windows are small and above the beds...friendly staff

So nice to be welcome! And a visit to the Grosvenor Hotel is always a pleasure very accommodating staff the rooms are always clean and it's quiet .

Very clean. Hospitable.Friendly, welcoming courteous and likeable atmosphere. A home away from home. Convenient to all of Adelaide's attractions and transport.

The service right from the check in and with some assistance by Todd at the front reception was exceptional and he is a great face for the hotel. Another notable employer was Siamak who was very friendly and attentive to a general request. The room size was much larger than we expected and very comfortable and clean, with the welcome message on the TV just an added touch. This was my first time here and I will certainly be back. Tonight the great customer service was again backed up by Danielle who was helpful with a smile at 1am. Well done management on choosing great friendly welcoming helpful staff and that's to all who we encountered but may not have named.
M. H.
The rooms were very clean and the service was fantastic but the complimentary coffee and tea they give they need to put a bottle of water in the fridge as the kettle doesn't fit under the tap in the bathroom so had to put water in cup and tip it in the kettle
L. K.
Clean room, comfortable bed, bit disappointed that we had to pay for parking, when it didn't state that we had too when we booked.

Great affordable lil quaint hotel close to everything...always enjoy a lil stay here. Only downfall is the carpark..its ideal for smartcars not 4wd
K.
A wonderful experience. The staff were outstanding and could not do enough for us. We needed an assessible room which was big enough for a wheelie walker to move around. Everything met all my Mum's needs. BONUS. Thank you for your services.

I frequent this place courtesy of my company but I like the place, clean and well maintained. The staff is always greeting you as you pass through the lobby for the lift esp Mr. Manoj and Hassan, will update names as I learn them.
Thank you.
H. M.
The reception staff are very good. The hotel is an older building - single glazing that allows every small city noise in through the night, including the emptying of the whole block’s skip bins that are lined up in the adjacent alley from 2am. There is no climate control in the room - only a fan speed selector. The pillows are thin and tired and on the cooler nights the bed covers do not keep you warm and there is no spare blanket in the room or aircon to heat the room. I’m going to try elsewhere next Adelaide visit.

The Location is excellent better impossible! the Housekeeping attentive to your requirements and suggest alternative options to meet your needs. The BreKfast is a disaster in terms of convenient hours 9:30 finito instead of 10 or 11 to give you space to sleep in and its only Pastries and basics🙄! I would say : Since the Hotel needs serious refurbishing and there are nicer and cheapee alternatives give your guest the nices breakfast hours and breakfast one can find in the city as to compete with your Hospitality neighbours, that's what is all about:Competition when you know and can't meet beautiful and breath taking sorroundings!

Fantastic staff and comfortable beds, but the fittings and carpet could do with a upgrade.

When in Adelaide, I most often choose to stay at Mercure Grosvenor Hotel Adelaide. It has spacious comfortable rooms, undercroft car parking and the tram right outside the front door. A gracious 'old fashioned' hotel with traditional values and modern comfort. Tariff is highly competitive and staff are extremely amicable and professional. All in all, the perfect place to stay in the CBD>

Staff helpful and great especially night shift, special mention to Courtney and cleaner on second floor.
Although hotel dated a bit with water pressure and AC struggled a bit above 2nd floor value for money on a 4 day stay near facilities Hotel facilities were restricted with Covid but understandable
K. B.
Stayed in room 522 our room was hotter inside than outside with the temperature being about 35degrees outside. After calling the desk we were given 2 old very loud stand up fans and a bucket of ice, and was virtually told that's what you get with a building that's 101 years old. Would not stay here again in summer .

excellent service from Reception staff, great room
N. R.
Reception staff friendly and helpful. Our "room" had a sitting area separate to the bedroom. TV a bit small for the size of room.
D. I.
My room was adequate although there was a humming noise that was too loud causing a disruption on my sleep. Overall, the staffs were accomodating and nice.
L. P.
Very friendly front desk. Unfortunately my room has no microwave, spare blankets or pillows and no electric blanket or temperature control of the room.
Very clean though.

Rooms a bit outdated, but good location for money
J. C.
Ok so it's showing its age a bit but the room was spacious and the bed was really good.

A hotel with excellent location in Adelaide. Overpriced but normal for Australia. It has a bit deteriorated since I stayed here last and would need some upgrading.

Room fine, staff helpful, breakfast appalling. We didn't bother going down to eat it the 2nd day. We went elsewhere.

Would just like to thank the Mecure and staff for an absolutely fabulous Christmas Luncheon, food was amazing and soooo much of it, the Ballroom was decorated beautifully and the entertainment was great, will definitely recommend it in the future
