S. P.Hostel staff and Trevor were pleasant to deal with.
I personally feel cleanliness of the rooms and toilets could be attended to a bit better.
It is really unfortunate how thin the walls are and how creaky the floor is.
My room was very hot due to minimal ventilation and no aircon or fan.
Quite a few long-term Australian guests residing at the hostel.
Parking out the front is free, just be sure to not get fined between 9am and 5:30pm!
I enjoyed sitting out on the balcony, surrounded by the beautiful Jacarandas!
I think this hostel has potential, but I understand it has financially been a hard time. I would stay here again though.
C. W.Staff were friendly, room was clean and quiet and location was excellent. Very good value and although we got really lucky with parking here it’s on the edge of the city enough to almost expect that luck.
C. R.NOT DISABLE FRIENDLY for wheel chairs/mobility aids. The staff are fantastic though they assisted in every way they could to help, as the booking site stated they were DISABLE FRIENDLY but unfortunately large flight of stairs to hostel rooms bathrooms kitchen etc. suggestions would be #1some hi visy tape on the small steps entering bathrooms etc as tripping/ fall hazard at night and if unaware there is a small step.
#2 fridges need cleaned out every so.often as they both smell of off or rotting foods.
Other wise a pleasant peaceful stay, long term guests are very friendly
A. B.Standard run of the mill hostel. Staff lack customer service. Was shocked to be told I had to pay to use a towel for my shower. Wouldn’t stay here again but it served its purpose of a cheap stay for one night.
M. Z.It's a very old building and air con was overly noisy and price was ridiculous considering it was a backpackers plus the room was pretty basic and very small.

S. S.I remember it was my first time in Adelaide and I was apprehending my choice of hostel but this hostel has exceeded my expectations. It is not in the city centre itself but it's always nice to walk a bit to discover the surroundings as well.
The hosts were so nice yet professional from day one ongoing. Bathrooms, lounge, rooms and kitchen were kept clean. But most importantly I felt safe at all time.
If you're a solo traveler like me, this place is for you :)
P. S.What a great stay! We really enjoyed being there. The staff was very very helpful and friendly. Thanks to you all, we really appreciated it. 😃 The double bedroom was comfy and clean. Everything else is also tidy. Stay here if you want to enjoy Adelaide!
N. B.Beds are rooms are clean and comfortable. Kitchen is small but has plenty of equipment. Atmosphere in the hostel is a bit dull with many people over the age of 50. Wifi isn’t great.
Overall not a terrible place.
If you’re looking for somewhere quiet and close to most things in Adelaide this hostel is fine.
M. A.Pretty nice for a hostel. Stayed in a private double. The room was clean, had a fan, and they gave us towels. Bathrooms didn't have soap, which is a huge pet peeve of mine, although they did give us our own soap bars, but who really wants to carry their own soap with them to the bathroom? Showers had a lot of mold growing on the walls but had ample space, good flow, and enough hot water.
J.Comfortable beds, good location, helpful & courteous staff. Quiet hostel for a good nights sleep. Airconditiined as well, so total score as it was really hot in Adelaide. A quality hostel to stay at. Would recommend to others looking for a good nights sleep. This is not a party hostel & gets a great recommendation from me. Would gladly stay here again when next in Adelaide. Other people staying at the hostel were always friendly & polite. TV room was nice to relax in of an evening.
J. R.First of all would have loved to post a review on Hostelworld but apparently I messed that up by not creating an account prior to booking. This was a great hostel. I was looking for a hostel that was cheap, quiet but also had social aspects to it. That’s exactly what I got and then some! I had some issues with my room the first night due to personal reasons and re-booked into a single private room with an additional fee with no hiccups whatsoever. The staff are all kind, friendly and outgoing. In particular, the manager Trevor is a great guy and was very easy to get along with. My only regret is that I can’t share this valid opinion on Hostelworld in order to displace some of the BS I saw posted up there.
J. J.Great little hostel depending on your needs. If you want to party this is not the place for you. If you want to have above relaxing time then go for this hostel. Few critisms would be that there is no shops near by, but they do have a vending machine. The beds need there own power socket and a reading light would be nice. Also allowing people to smoke on the balcony a may actual mean that the balcony gets used, didn't see a single person on the balcony all weekend, missed opportunity I reckon as it is nice. Staff were all nice and the place has a nice relaxed vibe. No breakfast so come prepared!
J. K.We stayed in a double room with en-suite on a recent visit to Adelaide. Great value, Great Staff , Great location and Great security. The most impressive thing for me was the cleanliness. Our room and bathroom were so clean I thought we were the first guests to use it.

G. R.Wow- where to begin-- This is the most amazing hostel in Adelaide for sure and tops almost every one I have stayed in for Australia!
The owner and manager are so lovely and helpful and get incredible deals for their clients! They are not money based and genuinely there to help so always telling you how to do what you want and save.
Every part of the hostel is so clean and welcoming! The internet is free and fast and the beds and pillows really show why it is a flashpackers- despite the amazing comfort etc it is still in a better area than any other hostel and with more to offer! The rooms with an ensuite are great but if on a budget you still get to have your own personal showers and toilets as there are many and each individual!
I cannot say enough good about this place! After 5 times in Adelaide I have found my little niche and will stay there each time I visit after!
Forgot to mention they let you check in early if need be, make the beds for you, have free bike hire and tons of info to provide, and get you the best deals with dining out ($5 pints and $10 pizzas) which save you so much per meal!! On top of that is free laundry powder, free strong internet, BBQ to use, and free coffee and tea all day!
If planning to visit Adelaide this is the place to stay!! Thanks for everything hostel 109!! Cannot wait to see you again!
J. K.Rather quiet (ie no party) hostel, still good vibes, met relaxed people there. Staff very friendly, always willing to help out!
Girls only 4 bed dorm provided lockers and overall was clean and cool, although there was not even an aircon in it. Plus there are two beds that aren't bunkbeds in there, that's a plus. Showers hot and with excellent pressure. Washrooms clean and spacious.
Kitchen, showers and common areas could use a bit of a revamp (mold stains, worn out sofas etc) but everything works and there is plenty of cutlery/crockery to use. Have not tried their wifi.
L. K.Just spent 3 nights at Hostel 109, and had a wonderful stay! The rooms and communal areas were extremely tidy and well-managed. Trev, Josh & Pierre were all extremely welcoming and very passionate both about the hostel and Adelaide itself. All of their recommendations made our stay in Adelaide extremely memorable, and we were able to discover many hidden gems in and around the city. The botanic gardens, the cute city centre, McLaren Vale wineries, Belair National Park, Hahndorf and the outer beaches were all highlights of our trip thanks to all the great tips we got from reception! We absolutely loved Adelaide and Hostel 109 and would recommend to anyone and everyone!!!
D. M.Lovely and clean venue, hostel manager very helpful and nice, room was a good size. My only suggestion would be to have a kettle in the disabled room as the stairs are difficult, and some hanging space.

L. L.(Translated) We rented a double room for a few days. The room was clean, ok in size and even had a relative big fridge. The shared showers were clean and cleaned daily. The kitchen was a bit small for a hostel and the stove and v.a. The oven should be cleaned more often. The kitchen equipment on dishes, pots, etc. was sufficient and it was free tea, milk, sugar and much more. made available. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
All in all a pleasant visit with room upstairs.
(We were the only Germans in this period, otherwise mainly French who unfortunately only spoke French -> as a single traveler I would prefer a different hostel.)

Wir hatten uns für einige Tage ein Doppelzimmer gemietet. Das Zimmer war sauber, von der Größe ok und hatte sogar einen relative großen Kühlschrank. Die Gemeinschaftsduschen waren sauber und werden auch täglich gereinigt. Die Küche war leider etwas klein für ein Hostel und der Herd und v.a. der Ofen sollte öfters gereinigt werden. Die Küchenausstattung an Geschirr, Töpfen etc. war ausreichend und es wurde kostenlos Tee, Milch, Zucker uvm. zu Verfügung gestellt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Alles in allem ein angenehmer Besuch mit Raum nach oben.
(Wir waren die einzigen Deutschen in diesem Zeitraum, sonst hauptsächlich Franzosen die leider nur Französisch gesprochen haben -> als Alleinreisender würde ich ein anderes Hostel bevorzugen.)

완전 추천. 방 안에서 와이파이도 되고, 방도 따뜻하고, 공용주방도 있어서 요리 해먹을수 있고, 샤워실도 넉넉해서 원하는 때에 씻을수 있었어요. 4인 여성 도미토리에서 지냈는데 2층 침대라 왔다 갔다 하기 조금 불편한거 빼면 다 좋았어요. 다른건 좋지만 무거운 캐리어 들고 계단 올라가기 좀 힘들었어요.
