One of the best backpackers I've ever stayed in Clean rooms also kitchen and common room are well maintained tidy. Also the manager who runs it hopefully he is still there is a gentleman make's U feel at home loved the experience and would definitely recommend also if or when I go back to Adelaide I'd go straight back there always highly recommend

Without a doubt. The best place to stay in Adelaide. The landlord is the kindest gentleman I have had the pleasure of knowing. I was able to regroup and rebuild my life. Thanks to his generosity of human decency. It's a smooth operation. The staff are awesome. The premises is first class. Clean bright modern rooms. The room I stayed in had everything. Fridge tv reverse cycle air con. Very comfy bed. Room service is provided. Bathroom facilities are modern and immaculate. Short or long term available. I thank you all at port Adelaide backpackers. I am grateful.

Its amazingly cheap, only 19$pp/night. Also, all the beds are actual mattresses, and are very comfy. Plenty of bathrooms and showers which are nice and clean. Nice communal area with comfy couches, a free pool table, 2 different areas with TVs, a large undercover outdoor area, and a small library. The tram ride into town takes apx 20 minutes, walking to the beach takes apx 30 minutes. I have no idea what is with the other bad reviews. The manager/reception who booked us in was nice and friendly, and the other receptionist (on Skype) was also very friendly and helpful.

Nice place to stay, they have good beds and a nice common room with free pool all day. The manager Derrik is a nice and helpful guy. Its not too busy here and u can see some dolphins in the river if u watch out for them.

Decent hostel, at first when walking in to be presented with a tv for a receptionist is a bit weird but you soon become used to it. Nice open common area and cheap prices for the night along with free parking 50m away makes this hostel hard to beat in comparison with others around Adelaide. The port area itself is a nice area too. The only downside is there's no aircon in the 8 bed dorms. 5*

Derek is a legend! Helped us out in so many ways. Lots of nice people stay at this hostel, stay for a few weeks and you'll make lots of friends. A bit far from the CBD but if you've got a car it's fine. Port Adelaide has lots of amenities within a five minute walk, so the only draw of the CBD is the shops.

Good for backpackers like me, but 40 minutes Bus drive away from the central of adelaide... hostel got a good familiar flair and lots of clean showers&toilets... PS3 with fifa, billiard, port adelaide can be interesting, dominos on the other site of the street, free parking not far ..... cheap... go for it!

A good place to stay...very clean friendly atmosphere...the owners are fantastic but on the other hand...the caretaker Derek has an attitude problem...and i dont think he is suitable for such a job...and many others have agreed.
