Y.Brisbane Quarters is a bright, new form of contemporary budget and backpackers accommodation in the vein of The Pod in Sydney although much bigger, combined with Montacute Boutique Bunkhouse in Battery Point, Hobart. All three are comfortable, modern places with excellent facilities. The only setback here is this place is not so much a place for the older guest like me although there were a few of us there. As it's full of young backpackers, my male counterparts' in particular personal habits are filthy basically. You have to see what they can do to kitchen surfaces and bathrooms to believe it. Some idiot broke the hot water tap in one of the mens bathrooms on my floor also. As there are shared facilities there is nowhere to hide. Maybe you're not the type of person to be bothered by this, but the grot all over the bathroom and kitchen surfaces after the morning and evening animal stampedes was a bit much for me to bear. The facilities really are very nice and nevertheless I found it very comfortable and pleasant overall. It wasn't the most friendly place either, I got a few smiles and passing "hello's" which is standard but the overall vibe was more stand-offish and cliquey than usual. I didn't realise how good a bargain I'd gotten from Agoda when I went to extend my stay for the night and found out from the severe or blunt, fairly unpleasant young Irish woman who works there that it was $100 rather than the exceedingly good $58 per night I paid for a private room on Agoda. Which makes sense as I was thinking during my stay this is exceptionally cheap for the type of room you get. While minimally furnished, it was bright, clean and modern with excellent air conditioning which you really need in a Brisbane summer and a very comfortable bed. If it was based on the place alone I would definitely stay there again but given the clientele I probably wouldn't.
H. S.Can't recommend enough. If you are looking for a hostel/hotel when in this area of Brisbane I can back Brisbane Quarters 100%. Legendary staff and friendly residents. Clean beds, fresh linen, clean showers and great location(airport travel wise) taxi has proven to be the most reliable over uber/didi from here. Better than some of the more expensive hotel accommodation nearby. My review is based on less than 12 hours of stay and Ill definitely be back one day to explore the entire experience this hostel has to offer. Keep up the great work guys!
A. O.Very good location, just 3 blocks from the city center. Museums and parks fences. Spacious rooms, clean kitchen and nice people at the reception. I'll definitely go back there when I'm in Brisbane again
E. A.Nicely decorated hostel; bathrooms are great, always clean and tidy. Free breakfast in the morning is a nice bonus, and great location close to the train station.
I stayed in one of the pods which was nice to have a bit of extra privacy, the mattress is very thin though so wasn’t very comfortable, and only a thin sheet in winter is a bit cold. I did see someone get offered a blanket whilst I was checking out though, so would’ve been warmer if offered one of those too.

It even has a pool, gym, free breakfast every morning and also check out is at 11 which actually makes such a difference!

L. W.Best hostel I have been to! I have travelled across Australia and Q+BQ was by far the best. The Pod accommodation is at a great price, very secure with lots of privacy and clean. The bathroom and kitchen amenities were much cleaner than other hostels, and had overall very modern and colourful decor. The location is very central to brisbane CBD, yet noise was at a minimum and music cut off at 10pm. Staff and managers were very friendly. They also offer free breakfast! Shower facilities are lush, although would say there’s definitely not enough showers/toilets on each floor.
Free breakfast is an absolute bonus.
Bedrooms are clean and pretty spacious.
Due to there being an exposed outdoor area (with a gym, smoking area, communal area) we did see a few rats which was pretty grim, but I guess can’t be helped, although is slightly off putting to be storing food down there...
Biggest negative of the hostel, however, is the fact that the kitchen area is absolutely TINY. No space, ever, to cook which is stressful. Can understand how the concept of the gym is handy and a money saver for people, but feel like the hostel would really benefit from another kitchen area/kitchenette elsewhere. There are only supposed to be 7 people in the kitchen at a time due to the current restrictions, but this was really not adhered to!

S. G.I was only lucky enough to stay for one night but from the moment I arrived I was looked after impeccably and made welcome by the staff. I opted for a pod (room 102) and it was absolutely outstanding for the price. The bed was comfortable and the fresh bedding smelt great. The showers were spotless and I can only liken my visit to a boutique hotel. Breakfast was plentiful. The all day tea and coffee is a great touch too. Thanks to the owners and staff for great hospitality. I look forward to coming back.

B. F.Reception was friendly, place was clean enough, shared kitchen was well stocked. Rooms are quite small but have a fridge and tv which was nice. Didn’t sound like there was much insulation in the walls tho. Sound carried pretty well. Only stayed for one night. Breakfast was simple but ok.

All areas were exceptionally clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. We will be staying again esp as it is so close to CBD.
Just don't expect 5 or 6 star but good for the cost .

The room is made according to the price, and there is a refrigerator and a pot, a toaster, coffee and so on. There is also a communal kitchen and laundry.
