A. A.Amazing hostel. All the staff was extra nice and they made us feel comfortable at all times. Great location with many attractions, shops and pubs very close.
The kitchen was seriously amazing, never seen a bigger kitchen anywhere and so well equipped and extremely clean always.
Lots of space to eat, huge reception to chill out, many books to read, it has a very cool bar that offers free dinner when you buy $5 drinks, but haven't been to the bar. They also offer 50% discount off meals in a pub nearby, so you can have very yummy dishes for $7.5.
Room was a private one with a bunk bed, Mattress wasn't very comfortable, that's the only thing that could be better.
Bathroom was only shared with another room like ours and it was always very clean and nice.
Highly recommend this place, excellent value for the money paid.

E. O. M.Initial impressions very good, friendly staff, on site parking for 12 dollars a night, clean rooms, large kitchen. Overall a nice Hostel but a few areas they need to improve on. You have to pay for wifi, which in this day and age is just not acceptable. The kitchen needs to be better stocked, there is a severe shortage of sharp knives so we struggled to cut our onions. Also the kitchen closed at 10 with no warning so we couldn't access our food when we got the late night munchies. Has great potential if they just fix these few issues.

There are also some bad points, the bathrooms inside the rooms are too small and the water was cold when I was there.
The storage for the food is a bit too tiny.
And eventually one star is lost because of the noise during the night (there was a night club just under my windows).
N. B.Great party hostel. Very large with many people to interact with. The bar at the hostel “birdies” has events almost every evening and good drink specials.
Rooms are quite clean, beds can be a bit squeaky and aren’t the best but is fine for a couple days stay.
If you’re looking for somewhere to meet lots of people and party this is a good spot to try.
L. D.Great busy/ party hostel with lots of great events on in the evenings, big shout to Mitch for putting on all the activities. Some areas that should be improved however, some of the rooms are very airless with no opening windows they just have ac. Showers in the 20 bed mixed dorm go from scalding to freezing, in the rooms upstairs however they’re great. After 10pm you have to queue down the street for sometimes 20/30 minutes to get into the hostel bar. They should allow entry via the side door for hostel guests. Lift area looks like a back of house or staff area. Would however definitely return, definitely pay a little more for the 8 bed, beds are really squeaky so ask at reception and they give out free earplugs.
M. v. d. V.I stayed in both a double room and a 4 bed dorm. The 4 bed is pretty brilliant because of a separator wall in the middle, giving everyone tons more privacy.
Can be noisy till very late depending on what side of the building you are on. The club will be playing tunes till late.
Kitchen is spacious and well equipped, but especially in the evening nobody will bother to clean up their dishes.

N. P. (.Great experience for an overnight stay for two Gold Coast locals spending the weekend in Brisbane. Bunk is perfectly nestled in the Valley with ease of access to public transport in and around Brisbane. Selected a two bed room with separate ensuite and found the facilities clean, well maintained for the price we paid. Reception staff were very obliging and friendly. There was free breakfast until 9:30am but you really have to apply the phrase, "early bird gets the eggs on toast/worm" when considering your morning plans. Seems like a great set up for backpackers who are staying in Brisbane for extended periods of time. For a short stay, I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for comfortable, convenient lodgings which do not break your vacation/weekend budget!
R. D.Good location about 30-45min (15min bus or train) walk from south Brisbane and super easy to access from airport. Friendly and helpful staff. Private room I stayed in was of a good standard but was let down a bit as it could of been cleaner (e.g. hair and stains on towels). Good set up kitchen, lots of space but gets busy at peak times. Free breakfast in the morning is good and a free beer/cocktail at 20:00hrs for guest in the bar is popular. Atmosphere is friendly and engaging, staff organise evening events such as trivia nights. Would recommend for travels (in a group or alone) and people on a budget/short stay.
D. W.We had double room with priv bathroom. Room was clean but very basic. Unfortunately it was very dark (one lamp only). There is AC but... you need to ask reception to come to the room if you want to change some settings (temp. Or simply to turn it off), there is no remote controller so you could do it. Bathroom was also basic and clean. They offer free beer or drink at 8 p.m. unfortunately you have to be precisely at 8. We were 5 past and bartender said we are too late. So be on time! They have also washing and drying machines that you can use (paid around 4 dollars each). All over all it was ok hostel for 1 night close to the centre.
S. D.I don't think this hostel gets enough credit. They are constantly updating the hostel which makes it look modern and new. The staff are like family they look after you completely. If you have any problems all you have to do is ask and they'll sort it out for you. I recommend this hostel out of them all in Brisbane. It's a very affordable clean hostel with a outside pool and bar area where you can meet people from all over the world. (Also the drinks are cheap!!) If you're going to book in stay in the 8/10 bed share. You get a shower and toilet in your room which is always well maintained. Bunk is like a second home!! I will always come back to Bunk when I'm in Brisbane!

子.I think the experience differs a lot based on which room you stayed in. The 20-bed dorm is airless, no ac. Couldn’t get a hot shower, as the stream is really weak, the waters not hot as well.

J. S.The atmosphere was great as well as the staff. My girlfriend and I met some great people, but the hostel in general isn't that good. Other than the big kitchen and bar, the 12 bed dorm on the 5th floor only had one bathroom...fellow travelers took like an hour everytime they'd shower so I'd always have to head downstairs. Toilets downstairs were horid due to travelers having no respect for cleanliness . I always got a plugged nose when staying in the muffy room. Super dusty & the bunks were hardly stable. No smoking on the deck upstairs but some hostel mates smoked and stunk up the whole floor inside.
T. M.I absolutely loved this hostel. The location is terrific, nestled in the middle of Fortitude Valley and a short walk to the CBD. You even have your own personal charge socket in your bed area so no need to leave your valuables charging in a vulnerable space. The staff were lovely and always around.

e. p.I have been travelling around Australia for 2 months now and stayed in many different hostels!! And so far i can honestly say Bunk has been the best one. The rooms are all very clean and beds are really comfortable. For backpackers on a budget being here is great as you get complimentary breakfast and a few days they even laid on a bbq with cheap food!!. The wifi was also really reasonably priced and the facilities were brilliant from the wash rooms, kitchen and computer area. I would 100% recommend people stay here, as the staff are all absolutely amazing as well and make you feel really comfortable, by doing everything they possible can to help, including free transport to the transit centre. The aircon in the rooms was great the breakfast good and the pool and bar was nice too oh and the location great for trendy Fortitude Valley. A. F.We had a great experience at Bunk Backpackers. The front desk staff is open 24 hours a day and all very friendly and helpful. Emily helped us plan a snorkeling excursion and another fellow helped us plan a trip to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary (they offer discounted tickets and a free bus ride to the park!)
The free breakfast was just ok (toast, cereal, coffee) but the bar Birdees connected to the hostel was fun and clean.
The beds were just okay as well, but nothing too bad. Room and bathroom were generally clean and organized.
Location is one street over from China Town and about 30 minute walk to the city center. Would stay here again.
T. M.The layout of my room made it difficult to meet the people staying in it with me, it didn't promote a very social atmosphere at all. Some were helpful at the front desk but most couldnt crack a smile. The kitchen facilities ok, but there was no place to really just chill out.

T. M.Funny how personal experiences can differ. I found it so easy to meet people at this hostel. I stayed at the back of the hostel so once i had gone to bed i couldnt hear anything. A free shuttle bus will pick you up and drop you off to Brisbane Transit centre for those on the Greyhound/Premier buses.
e. k.One of the best hostels I ever been, a hotel with good community life, there is a warm jacuzzi down stairs next to a cool swimming pool, decent breakfast. I would recommend for the 12 p dorms because it is divided for 2 sections, I personally stayed there for 2 weeks.

Seemed to pay more attention to the cupboards on the wall than the bathroom which needed it. Only thing, had to leave early needing an operation so I couldn't get the refund. Upon informing Nomads about the situation to request the refund under special circumstances they pushed it to the office at Bunk. They have not gotten back to me about it. Eggs.
T. M.The Bunk is a really nice place to stay, even for a ling time. The best part of my stay was the basic but plentiful breakfast from 07.30 til. Happy hours were ok but the same price as a jug of beer so this made more sense.
R. B.There's alot of privacy in the rooms if that's what you want. The beds are all seperated by dividers so you only really see the person above/below you. However this makes it harder to meet people, couple with the fact that it's really quiet in the day and doesn't get good until 9pm+ in the evening it's surprisingly unsociable for solo travellers. That's not to say you won't make friends just you need to try harder/have more luck that in most hostels.
a. s.This place was fabulous, although I do have one complaint: their free WiFi is only 30min/day. After that it's $2/day, which is still pretty cheap. You can either use a credit card to pay for Internet of pay cash at the front desk. Anyway, the rest of the place is fabulous: free breakfast every day (toast with penus butter, jam and honey, cold cereal, coffee and tea) and super friendly staff. I ran into trouble with my room (someone nabbed my bed) and they gave me a new room (upgrade!). They also sell locks for the storage cabinets in the room for $6. Oh, and the kitchen is huge. Obverall, the place feels like an escape and at ~$20/night, it's a bargain.

T. L.Came here for a week and ended up staying 6 months! Pretty much all off the back of the great staff. That was a couple of years ago but went back over new year and not only are the still rad (despite being a mostly different team) but they have renovated too so the bathrooms in the 8 share are easily the best anywhere I've stayed in Aus. Good value, great bar, top location...can't fault it!

Whenever someone moves you'll hear all the metal pieces of the bed structure. That makes it annoying all night long as there is always someone simply turning around in the bed.

Cleanliness was ok, facilities alright, complimentary breakfast was simple but good, 20 man dorm was nicely sectioned, and the common area was neat and played good music. Only bad thing was the wifi. It's 30 min free every day, and thereafter not too expensive. But i think a hostel in a big city could probably manage to offer a slower, but 24/7 free wifi and have faster behind a paywall. But that's just my 2 cents.

Wir waren in einem 2er Zimmer mit einem Stockbett und haben uns ein kleines Bad mit einem anderen 2er Zimmer geteilt. Es war wirklich sauber und nie überrannt. Die Wände sind sehr dünn und man hört alles, aber das gehört irgendwie zum Hostel-Feeling. Allgemein eher ein Partyhostel aber es war Nachts eigentlich überraschend ruhig. In der Gegend gibt es viele verschiedene und erschwingliche Restaurants und auch zur Story Bridge ist es nicht weit.
