S. W.My husband and I visited for lunch, I had lamb shank which was very good while he had the pulled pork burger which was also very good. The beer was extremely cold and welcome the lemon lime and bitters was well made and thirst quenching. Staff very nice and welcoming. Quiet place at lunch on a very hot humid day (36' and 80% humidity.)
C. K. (.Beer was reasonably priced and cold, good choices. Rebuilt Hotel (since fire) is airy, modern and staff were great. Light meal of Sweet Potato chips was hot and well cooked. Live music on this particular Sunday was a nice feature.

Had 3 meals in the restaurant best steaks we have had for a long time. Barra was excellent excellent salad. Great country pub good selection of beers and friendly atmosphere.

T. B.Absolute ripper of a pub! You're less than an hour from the beach, but it feels like a true country pub. Sensational hospitality! The owners are just such lovely people and the rest of the staff are all so friendly. Beers are cold and food is tasty. The new rebuild looks superb. Can't rave about this place enough. Will be back.

All a bit confusing with covid sign on rules, the owners were very helpful and pleasant, the lunch was excellent, the kitchen staff and young lady who served me were also very friendly and welcoming. Top place to break up your journey on a tour of the beautiful Mary Valley way.

B. T.Dropped in for Sunday lunch and found an interesting and diverse menu. Serving size was good. Flavour was exceptional. The salt and pepper squid was thick and juicy. Pork belly salad was very tasty. And the chicken schnitzel was very generous and tender. Service was speedy and it was great to find a pub that still serves a schooner of mid beer for under $5.00. What a great sunday lunch.

P. B.The hotel was completely rebuilt after it was recently destroyed by fire. It's a modern, airy structure with wheelchair accessible bathroom although only street parking is available. The staff are friendly and the food is plentiful and good value for money. There is a somewhat kitsch aspect with plastic mounted deer trophies to help that rustic feel... ;p
R. B.First visit to the new pub (the original was lost to fire not so long ago) They've tried to keep a similar layout to the original with a few improvements. I felt that they've done a great job. New pubs can seem a bit sterile at the start and they take a while to develop a bit of patina and character. That shouldn't take long here. The staff are friendly and efficient. The food is incredibly well priced for the quality and portion size. The outside area is grassed and the tables and chairs comfy. Inside features lots of timber - I'll take a punt and say that it's locally sourced.
There's a kids room with a tv and a classic arcade game emulator... Space Invaders, Donkey Kong, Galaxian sort of thing.
TL:DR = Nice pub with good staff and great tucker. Would recommend.
G. H.A newly rebuilt hotel, bar and kitchen with modern facilities, fresh food, a variety of beers on tap, incorporating old favourites and craft beers. The hotel includes a kids games room, with free arcade games, toys, and closing doors to let the adults relax. Its an (obviously ) popular spot, for both locals and visitors alike, much like the original hotel, where this one stands. This is a fantastic place to go to relax, meet new friends, where everyone is treated like a local.
D. H.Went with a group of riders on a really hot day. Good cold beer and excellent food, we will be back. And they gave us all a peaked cap to protect us from the sun.

M. M.This is a old fashioned pub with friendly service, it really is. It was like stepping back in to the gold old days when you actually got a beer pulled direct from the coldroom. The bar staff, Clare and Justine and Terry ( he is so entertaining) made us feel so welcome. We dont get service like this in Brisbane at all..... Meals were excellent, a big serve of everything. I just loved it. What I loved the best is that I felt safe and secure in the public bar..........and it was just great to sit in an old clean pub and chat to the locals about the town. I loved it so much I wanted to ask if the pub was for sale! I loved having a wine on the verandah, just relaxing and listening to the laughter in the bar. I cant recommend this hotel enough....we will be back, we loved it. Thankyou everyone for making us feel so comfortable in such a cute little place.

N. W.I love Kandanga Pub! I waited 2 weeks after my birthday so that I could have my special lunch at Kandanga. We got there early but after a while some bikers arrived and family groups. This time there was no live music, shame that because it does add to the atmosphere. I'm hoping they will continue with that. It's such a beaut little town and you're likely to meet people that you haven't seen in ages and catch up. I'm happy to reccomend Kandanga as a wonderful place to visit for Sunday lunch or even camp down the road in the pretty tree filled park on the edge of the river. Hope to see you all there some day.
