G.We had the most wonderful stay at The Ovolo! We booked a room for one night as part of an interstate move, as we needed pet-friendly accommodation and wanted somewhere comfortable and in a central location. From the moment we arrived it was a 5 star + experience. We were greeted by friendly reception staff who helped us up to our room, and the room itself was clean, very spacious and beautifully finished. The free mini bar and arrival bag were lovely touches, as was the wonderful service we received from reception throughout our stay (including an earlier check in to accommodate our removal plans!). The bed was super comfortable too, and being so close to a number of food options made finding dinner easy. Breakfast was included with lots of really nice options. Overall we loved our stay and would highly recommend The Ovolo to others, whether with a furry friend or without :)
C. M.Very nice hotel, looks spacious and very comfortable. Bar is open and it's a very classy place. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable, clean and warm. Staff is very friendly, helpful and ready to assist you with your booking. Location is awesome, in the heart of the Fortitude Valley and all the nice places you can go to to eat, relax and have awesome time and spend a lot of money. All in all, excellent hotel. However, on Saturday nights should be more cheaper and not that much expensive!

Great service- especially from Jay who has gone above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Travelled with a baby which means lots of bags and microwaving food, Jay helped us all the way with a smile on his face. Phenomenal service and attention to detail which is rare to find these days.
C. P.A funky, clean, and courtesy hotel. Loved our stay. We were in a Large Spa room because ... sometimes you just need a long soak in a spa tub! And this did not disappoint. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was ample, and the in-room mini bar and loot bag were wonderful touches and fully enjoyed! Haha. Highly recommended. Thank you for an excellent experience.
S. M.This place is the bomb. Quirky, pretty and comfy. I moved in for a week and it was great. They upgraded me when I said I needed a super quiet room to work in. The staff are so kind and helpful. Nothing is to hard. They have washing facilities which is neat. It’s in a great spot in the valley. Rooms are clean and well appointed. The goodie bag and mini bar for free is the icing on the cake. They swap things out for you if you would prefer more wine to beer etc.

Pool was on the smaller side but it’s more a lap pool. Sauna was a pleasure.
Resturant on site is ok was unaware it was vegan which was a surprise when I asked for bacon. Location is great.
T. F.One of the best places I've stayed! The room was big and had everything you'd expect, but what made it was the amazing customer service, the free mini bar, Spotify and Chromecast and the free bottle of "happy anniversary" bubbles. They made us feel special and welcome. Will definitely be back!!
M. L.I thought the styling was quirky and interesting which is what attracted us to the place and the location was a short walk from James St which was great. It went downhill from there. We got there after 2pm and the room wasn’t ready so we had to occupy ourselves for 15mins at a nearby cafe, checkin was at 2pm. The room smelt mouldy and we could hear the shower running next door from our bed. The stay was a Xmas gift and the breakfast was paid for as an extra but it was not worth paying for as it was a bit ordinary. Not much variety and coffee machine was hard to work. Would probably not stay there again.
m. v.I was blown away! I have stayed at a few 5 Star Hotels and Resorts - The Ovolo is up there as one of the best places I have stayed. The rooms are beautiful, funky & fresh. I stayed here as a bit of a treat to myself for my birthday and I am really happy that I did. The staff are really what makes this hotel as amazing as it is. We have all dealt with customer service people who are robotic, they're pleasant enough - it seems fake or a put on though. Not at The Ovolo - everyone one I dealt with was genuine, friendly and engaged - they honestly seem interested in me and making sure that my one night was exemplary. Obviously there are the bonuses of the free mini-bar and the free snacks. I told a friend that the mini-bar was free. Are you sure that it was free? Really sure? Yes ok it's worked into the room rate - to be honest though - The Ovolo isn't that badly priced and FYI book direct through their website - I got a better deal through Ovolo Hotels (and they promise this) than I did looking at booking.com and agado. I was given a complimentary upgrade to a large room (I'm pretty sure it's bigger than my first apartment) and yes I was amazed - honestly these things don't happen to me - it was honestly very much appreciated. I know I'm gushing... it's deserved! Seriously if stay here! I was going to steal the little "FUN' decoration!!! ;) It honestly is an amazing hotel in the perfect spot.
J. J.Location and comfort wise it was great. Considering it was in a high traffic area, the room was extremely quiet. However, had issues with cleanliness of the room, when I reached out for wine glasses in the room realised it was not cleaned properly.

Facilities were beautiful and our room was daily maintained to a very high standard. The mini bar, breakfast and valet were all wonderful little touches to make our stay even more delightful.

The hotel itself is well presented with an artistic flair. The room was nice, although noted there was stains on our bedroom floor area of the room. Not a dealbreaker at all. Overall it’s really nice and I’d highly recommend staying here.

I booked a surprise one night getaway for my partner & I on Friday 3 September 2021 (a rarity with 4 teenagers, an elderly Mum to care for & a shift working nurse!)….We were blown away with the attention to detail & care given by the staff at Ovolo Fortitude Valley…with short notice they went above & beyond (room upgrade, caring service, champagne, cute personalised note, rose petals, oh the rose petals, spa bath salts, free mini bar, munchies & a room with a mini balcony!!! All of you made our stay a wonderful memory for us. Thank you to all the staff at Ovolo Fortitude Valley from the bottom of my tired nurse heart ❤️ … we will most definitely be back…saving for the rock star package next time!! ❤️❤️ Michelle & Jason x

The included mini bar and snacks were nice, but the selection wasn't particularly to our taste.
I liked that they offered a way to Chromecast to your rooms TV and had fast free wi-fi. Better than the typical included Foxtel anyway.
But the parking situation is terrible. You either pay for valet parking or find a nearby parking lot. We found a parking lot nearby for a few dollars a day but it looked like it was an abandoned fuel station.

It was our wedding night, and was an absolute privilege to stay at such a funky, quirky and mesmerising hotel, it felt as though you were living inside a piece of art! I will be highly recommending this hotel to all our friends! The spa was EXACTLY what we needed after a HUGE wedding day! Although we arrived very late we were still greeted so kindly by the lobby staff member who personally helped us inside and assisted us seamlessly to our room, as we were very late on arrival we did not get too experience the room service but we were up until 1am debriefing our wedding day in that amazing spa hehe with sparkling wine in hand. Our only criticism of the room (which was simply stunning) was that the tv probably needs to be upgraded, and made more seamless in its functionality as we wanted to watch a movie and were turned away as we simply could not get it too work and were not able to connect our phones up either to play our own movies. Other than that, we had the biggest bathroom I’ve ever seen in a hotel, an amazing balcony and very large room with a huge walk in robe. Nothing was too hard for the team, We were simply delighted and it really topped our wedding night! We will be STAYING AGAIN! Thanks Ovolo team! X
H. L.Best Australian hotel I've stayed in. Staff are first-class in their training, professionalism & attitude. Rooms and decor is beautiful, clean and comfy. Squishy carpet underfoot and very comfy bed. Free mini bar and bag of snacks is a genius touch, a great way to make a stay feel special. All the little touches that are usually missed/neglected by most 5 star hotels have been comprehensively nailed here, outstanding attention to detail.
Pool is great, with comfy daybeds with an amazing view. Tech in the room is outstanding, Chromecast & Alexa makes it great to listen to music or watch shows on the big TV.
Can't speak highly enough of this place - Ovolo is now my default go-to chain for any trips to Aus cities.

It was a last minute booking as lockdown lifted during my vacation and I'm really glad I found this place. I really appreciated Jay's professional and kind reception upon entering the hotel and throughout my stay. I also was impressed that they served afternoon drinks + snack during social hours, which usually happens on the ground bar but was not possible due to COVID situation, by visiting each and every room to offer the above. Loved the rooftop swimming pool with a city view and also sauna right next to the pool. I really liked the the room itself and how clean and neat it was. Not to mention the convenient location of the hotel to access different options of restaurants. I will return for my next staycation. Thank you for making my staycation awesome!

The free breakfast is very disappointing with limited options and only filter coffee provided, if you want a cappuccino or latte it costs extra. The social hour which seemed a big plus upon booking was also not great, it included only beer and wine not even basic spirits. Overall we had an ok stay but would not be recommending or booking again.

$45 day for valet parking when we never went to the car is price gouging. We accepted it but won't again.

I have to say the Ovolo did not disappoint. Every room was carefully planned out and well designed. Free mini bar and snacks and no rules with the pool meant we could head up for a night time swim after a long night out on the town. Highly recommend.

The staff/service was hit or miss. ex: I'd asked for an extra pillow and the one provided showed up with stains and hair on it - unfortunately despite follow up there was no response to this. T. L.Ok, so from 'Go to Woe' these guys were incredible! The gentleman at reception for check in had this adorable quirkiness about him that made us feel instantly comfortable and at home! He was incredibly professional, nothing was too much trouble and every question had an answer with a smile! The decor was so funky and cute, with a 1980's kick, yet a very clean and luxurious vibe... Of course the free mini-bar is worth a mention but the sweetest and very best touch of the entire trip was the bottle of bubbly and the handwritten card that was waiting in our room, sending us well wishes and congratulating us on our engagement! The individual and fine touches were on point and made our stay one of the best we've ever had! Thanks Ovolo The Valley... we will not only be back in a heartbeat, but we will sing your praises to all we know who visit Brisbane 😊😊 thank you again for so many sweet congrats on our big news! P. G.Nice hotel and room. Free mini bar and Ipad, speaker for music and Google casting. The bed was very nice and the bathroom well setup. Just missed on the little things that make it just that little bit more luxurious. The towels were standard hotel towels, not soft and fluffy as you would expect for the price. Not enough milk for more than two coffee's in the mini bar. Check-in we waited for an hour as there were other guests waiting too. They did offer drinks while we waited. Parking is valet at the standard $45 and no other options. A nice hotel in a good area for food and shopping just not luxury.

P. H.Lovely service from the staff in this hotel. Decor is super cool and rooms are large and have great amenities including free mini bar and in room Alexa. Bed was huge and really comfortable. Pool deck on the top floor has fantastic views and is a great design. Bar and restaurant are really good but if you want to go out of the hotel there are plenty of options in the Emporium area or on James Street which is just a few hundred metres away.

T. K.The rooms are nice but pretty standard, albeit with a free mini-bar. You wont get drunk on it, but there were a couple of beers and soft drinks. What makes the hotel great is the service. All the staff were great, couldn't be better. The room service was good and delivered quickly. A beautiful stay and will come again!
N. E.Absolutely love this Boutique Hotel and can highly recommend an overnight or weekend stay there. The staff and service is above and beyond and the decor and quirkiness makes it fun and a feel good atmosphere. The location is fabulous and the restaurants, bars and shops around are a bonus including ZaZaTa and Tartufo and the amazing designer consignment Boutique just across from the hotel called Designer Emporium. It’s worth a stay just to visit this shop for the incredible Designer bargains! 💃🏻
T. H.Complimentary drinks fridge a nice touch. Snack pack only had 1 lollypop, 1 small bag of chips and 1 Tim tam, in a double room though...... Tea was good quality T2 but the coffee pods were terrible.
Unfortunately we found used underwear behind the curtain, which was quickly kicked out the door!
Parking is also very expensive at $40 a day.
Otherwise staff very friendly.
C. A.I had the opportunity to spend the weekend here, and it was fantastic. The rooms are very nice, extremely comfortable, and the free mini bar is a nice touch.
The staff were also very friendly and helpful. In particular, a big thankyou to Trey, who went out of his way to return some things to me that I had left in my room safe.

The Solo Traveller:
As a solo traveler, i was looking forward to a relaxing weekend where i could pamper myself.
The hotel itself was value for money but the only two times i was disappointed was,
1. The room service: kitchen closed at 9 probably and as someone who just arrived at the hotel, i was looming foreard to taking a bath and order in some good food, put up my feet and relax. Unfortunately that didn't happen and i had to order in some takeaways to be delivered. Which took 1 hr to arrive.
2. 5star hotel spa: one of the best experiences in a good place like that is its in house pamparing. I wanted to get my nailand hair done. Get some spa treatments go prepare gor the night out. Again, was dissappointed to find out that they didn't provision for duch services. I had to go out in the heat looking for a good place to treat myself. Apart from that, the night staffs are excellent in taking care of the guests and best at what they do. However, i found that the day staffs were a little up themselves, snobby and to proud to even look at you or greet you. They sure could learn a lot from the night staffs.

D. S.Lovely staff and excellent location. The rooms are luxurious and comfortable. Location is great for a short walk into the centre of the Valley or for convenient driving to Portside or Brisbane airport. They do have valet parking for a price however booking a park in a nearby parking structure would be best for weekends. Lots of restaurants in the area.
J. P.If only all hotels were as good as this. Good size room with very comfortable Super King Bed. No single use plastics! Congratulations on that. Quality teas and coffee and freebies in the fridge! The room had very good double glazing so we weren’t disturbed by hoons with back firing exhausts which is now a common occurrence.... the hotel provides drinks vouchers for their incredibly stylish bar. All in all it’s a great hotel!
M. C.Excellent hotel, I have stayed on many over the years and had plenty of ordinary stays, this wasn’t one of them. Great staff, good ambience and well appointed rooms.
All PowerPoints had USB outlets, not much but it’s the small well thought out points that makes the difference. Didn’t have to crawl around behind the bed to plug into a PowerPoint, it was right there above the side table with the USB outlet.
M. B.I stayed with a group of friends over the weekend for a friends hens! The staff were so friendly, helpful and accommodating throughout the whole stay it was such a good experience! The Purple Room is where the party was held and it was beautiful! The other room we had was spacious, modern and so clean - everything was great! Special shout out to Wade who helped us try work technology in the room and went and got us some supplies we needed for the party we didn't have time to get ourselves. Super star :)
A. N.A Friend introduced me to this hotel, I trusted him and book the hotel for my business trip to Brisbane. I have to thank him for the great recommendations, the hotel staff is friendly, breakfast area was great and the breakfast delicious. The room is very spacious and come with all the amenities that you can get in a 5 start hotel. Never regretted staying here and will definitely stay with Ovolo again!
T.The staff are great. The room and free mini bar is excellent. Great location and close to restaurants and a variety of shops. The decor is fantastic and the art work offers a special touch. The bed is very comfy with different types of pillows on offer. A great experience.

A. H.A pleasure writing this review. Travelling for business can be bland. The Ovolo is funky, bright and friendly - it’s easy to wind down and switch off here. Free happy hour on the rooftop pool deck (most things are free here). Close to amazing food and boutiques, and super friendly staff. Room was spacious and well appointed and amazing spa! Don’t go past the free sweets bar without stopping! Gorgeous breakfast in the French patisserie next door. A lovely addition to the Ovolo collection. Can’t wait to see the completed restaurant and bar.
T.Have stayed here a few times now and will definitely be back. Always clean and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Its also such a good spot from a location point of view with everything you could want in walking distance.

C. C.Different to your stock standard hotel. great layout and huge room (room 109) free minibar and Lootbag are also a great touch. 2 free drinks during happy hour and bar snacks also very cool. The bar could do with some more variety on the number of mid to top shelf offerings and the green beacon beers in the fridge were clearly semi frozen and in the fridge thawing out which isn't a great look. another gripe is that the curtain in my room did not close all the way(a fault on the original curtain install) so I was woken up after only a few hours sleep with the sun teeming in right on my face at 6am. Not a great way to wake up with a hangover.The bed was too close to the window so you couldn't even put a chair against the curtain to stop the light coming in. please fix this ,as the room was phenomenal for the price and other perks but my sleep sucked which put a slight downer on the stay. oh, also,free breakfast is another small but appreciated touch.

Their attention to detail and personalised service is something that is rare in the industry. Not to mention, the free mini bar, cocktails at social hour and breakfast is something not to miss! Overall, 5/5 for service and amenities. Reward yourselves with a staycation here at The Valley!

K. A.If the star count could go higher, the rating would be higher! Customer service and care = fabulous. Amenities included = spectacular. The only things missing by American standards was a hot tub near the beautiful rooftop pool and a dresser in the room. I will definitely stay at other Ovolo's when the opportunity is available.

The hotel is exquisite and the service is the best we’ve ever had. There was a birthday card and chocolate on the bed awaiting our arrival which was such a thoughtful touch and we were offered a turn down service (bottled water and a delicious pillow chocolate). We both had the best sleep we’ve had in a long time - the bed was so comfortable, the pillows incredible, the AC was at the perfect temperature and the block out curtains are my new favourite thing. There was no noise or interruptions and even though we only stayed one night (we both wished it was for longer!!) we left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Thank you Emporium! K.The concerige here is the best we have encountered thus far. They helped us make an important deal happen. They went above and beyond by shipping a large item internationally for us. Additionally, they made restaurant reservations for me and even helped me by providing lady staff members to help me try on outfits. I was blown away by the service here. The rooms are beautiful, the bathrooms are modern and have luxury products. The pool area is gorgeous, well maintained, and provides a wonderful city view. I could not say enough good things about this place!

There is excellent and then there is Ovolo. Our stay was incredibly amazing, from the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out. Wonderfully friendly staff who are always smiling, beautifully designed rooms with an insanely comfortable bed, a pillow menu, happy hour, free mini bar, I could go on! The part that made our stay completely wonderful was Jarod, he is truly, truly exceptional. Seriously, he went above and beyond on multiple occasions enabling us to have a great time!

We caught an Uber in from our place in the western suburbs and were greeted with smiles, great conversation and most importantly, great service! Every one of the staff members were beautiful. They were very knowledgeable and went out of their way to make sure we had a cruisy stay. We booked the Salon de Co package which included 5 course dining at their sister hotel in the city. The staff at The Valley booked our Uber to get there and vice versa. We had happy hour drinks before we left for dinner in the lobby and we were just really looked after. My partner and I are so pleased with our stay :)

The staff at the front desk are amazing and super helpful and the services provided by the hotel are extraordinary.
The rooms are very clean and have such a very fun, modern design and the beds are very premium and comfortable. The rooms are outfitted with everything you'd need, like free unlimited wifi, a chromecast so your able to stream all your favorite shows from your mobile device onto the TV, an Alexa so you can listen to all the music you desire, and my favorite, a mini bar that is 100% free which is restocked daily. The room also contained a 'loot bag' which contained snacks.
Next door to the accommodation there is a cafe which supplies a free continental breakfast to those staying at the Ovolo.
This was the very first time I have ever used valet parking and I never realised how convenient it was. 15 minutes before you want to go out, call the front desk and they'll have your car out front ready for you. Now the Valet parking does come with a fee of $45 but to me it's worth it. Otherwise there are plenty of parking garages in the area which are much cheaper but you'll have to walk to and from.
This hotel does have what they call 'Happy Hour' which has a bar and pool. Unfortunately I did not get to experience it.
They also have an allday snackbar and a gym.
I highly recommend this place to stay at while in the Valley.

Have stayed here a few times now as the rooms are well decorated, clean and the beds are comfortable. You have a choice of pillows which is wonderful.
The best stay I've had was a romantic anniversary weekend getaway. We booked an indulgence and romance package. Staying two nights.
On arrival there was red wine and cheese platter.
Through the hotel we were able to book a couples massage and the masseuse arrived and set herself up in our room. We had our massages separately, although could have arranged for it to happen at the same time.
After our relaxing massages we headed out for dinner and on arrival back to the room it was like stepping into a magical land. Candles lighted the room. Rose petals on the bed as well as champagne, strawberries and chocolate. Not cheap champagne either. It was real French champagne.
The baths although not spa baths are big enough for two people, bath towels were big and soft with robes and slippers provided too (you can purchase the robes if you want to take them home).
We were able to choose our breakfasts the night before (bubbles were again available).
It was hard to leave the room the next day, we eventually did as we had booked lunch nearby.
We ordered room service for dinner that night but did leave the hotel so they could do the turn down service. We ended up going to a wine bar nearby.
That night we also received the romantic turn down service (as we had paid for this service for both nights) most probably a bit indulgent but it really set tge atmosphere. The only problem we had was at the time I was still a smoker so I had to go down and outside the hotel to smoke whichI found quite frustrating.
On our final morning we had breakfast brought up to us and had a late checkout.
I'm very picky about the cleaniless of bathrooms in hotels and I still disinfected the bathroom before use. I did comment to my partner after returning to our room on the Saturday that they didn't really clean the bathroom while we were gone. It was basically just given a wipe over and they only replaced the shampoo. The soap was left alone. Calling the front desj they did send staff up to fix these minor problems.
It was expensive for our two night stay ib fact we could have gone interstate by aeroplane and stayed in a cheaper motel tor the same price.

Location is in a new precinct, between two busy one way streets, in northeast central Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, known for its music scene, boutique shops and mix of grunge and style.Conveniently located walking distance to many food and entertainment options, including its French-style cafe Société and just-opened Middle Eastern inspired restaurant and bar Za Za Ta also in the same Emporium precinct. The Fortitude Valley train station which connects to the airport, is about 10 minutes walk away.
The fit-out of the hotel expresses an arty, design theme, with emerging artist’s work on the walls, a gorilla sculpture near the lifts, and other quirky stuff around. Staff seem very professional, exude relaxed efficiency, and certainly add to the laidback friendly atmosphere. Seems the old ostentatiousness of the Emporium has been replaced by something more upbeat and offbeat, with a vibrant colour palate and subtle nods to pop culture, which is both a little eccentric and eclectic. The result is a boutique hotel that makes you feel part of gig, simultaneously part of the weird wonderful world and at the same time, in your own oasis and bubble. The interior design which endeavours to bring in local elements is balanced by the double-glazing which means you can feel you are living in the place, and you get a good night’s sleep.
Among the comforts are the big bed, which can be personally curated with pillows from the pillow menu, the large bathroom, and the self-service drink making facilities. There’s room service if you need it, and you are free to use all the wine bottles and beer in the fridge, snack on the treats in the bag, or mix with others at the happy hour.
The room is future-proofed with high tech wizardry including the AI of Alexa, which can obey commands, the Spotify playlist, and the large TV linked with Chromecast. There’s instruction on how to use all of these. And lots of sockets, plus one with a converter. I liked too that the light switches were easy to use, as I just hate it when you have to be rocket scientist to turn off that one last light.
My room had a desk and chair, a chaise longue, table and chair, and you can take away the fluffy slippers. In the bathroom, the shampoos, conditioners, shower gels and body lotions are locally-made, sulphate-free Biology products served in large dispensers. I didn’t have time - or my swimmers - to check out the rooftop pool or venture down to the basement self-service laundry.
Breakfast was served next door in quaint elegant surrounds, and I was impressed with the range of cereals, breads, pastries, cheeses and items on offer.
I’d say the main target group for this hotel are those who prefer hip chic places, rather than big brand blandness. Ovolo has a certain swagger and edgy, smart atmosphere, and I reckon its genuineness will mean guests who want that and ‘get it’ will come back - or like me, recommend it to others.
