S. G.Stayed here for my birthday. Had a really nice time in Brisbane and the hotel is very well located in city. Close to pretty much everything you need. The room was clean, pool was nice for a sw the next day, checking in was easy and staff were friendly. Only thing I found was the bed was a bit hard but I'm someone who prefers a softer bed. Would recommend for a cheap stay.

THE GOOD
The parking is VERY secure.
Location is excellent. 5-15mins walk to entertainment eateries etc.
Balcony door so if you are a person who doesn't like being 'closed in' there is plenty of fresh air
Staff very friendly and helpful with information and guidance.
Whole building quite clean, foyer smells pleasant. Rooms dated but well maintained

"Tracey" one of the staff members showed genuine and honest caring for all her clients not just us. She treated all of her clientele with sincere care and desire to please. Nothing was too much of a problem. You just don't get this service anymore. Will definitely be staying here again when next in Brisbane.
A. A.I stayed here with my 2 kids for about a week. From the booking to the time we left, the staff; especially Priscilla, were extremely helpful, warm and friendly. Priscilla saw to it that we were well taken care of. The room though basic, was clean. The location was fantastic, close to the museum, library, the Lagoon etc. We would definitely stay here again.

We have a hotel we use when we are on the north side of the river, now we have one for the south. We had plans to go to GOMA and then bars in the local area, which we could do on foot. Great location and no hassles.

G. H.4th stay at Riverside. Probably won't again. Internet STILL doesn't work. (Didn't work last stay either.) You can connect to the WiFi but you can't download ANY data. (No, I don't have this problem at other hotels.) The shower was awful - we worked out that you could get cold OR hot but not both (Room 318). Whichever you turned on first was the only one you got.

The only thing I would have to say is that the bathroom is a bit dirty in terms of being older. But besides that I would definitely recommend it. L. P.This hotel is extremely great value while being exceptionally comfortable. It's very handy to Southbank, QLD museum, QPAC, and GOMA is just across the road. An easy walk across the nearby Kurilpa Bridge, takes you to just south of Roma Street Railway and Bus station. There's a city Woolworths supermarket approximately a 500 metre walk south along Montague Road.
The rooms are a reasonable size, with comfortable beds. The ensuite bathroom while small is clean and functional. The room had a small balcony overlooking the city. Even though the room faced the William Jolly Bridge, there was very little traffic noise. In fact we found it very quiet, and had a great night's sleep. There is an on-site restaurant, however this wasn't open during our stay.
There is also undercover parking included in the price, and a lift to access upper floor rooms. Staff are friendly and approachable. I heartily recommend this hotel for a convenient, comfortable and great value city stay.
N. D.An ok hotel while I was in Brisbane for a couple of days with work. It’s a bit further away from the main restaurant area than some south bank hotels, but still a very easy walk! The room I was in was slightly old and tired, but otherwise clean.

J. d. B.After having a bad night with a lot of driving we arrived in Brisbane around 8am. We searched a hotel close to the CBD and found this one. The check in would be at 2pm. When arriving the people at the reception where so kind. Meanwhile we could use the swimming pool and the even gave us some towels. At 10am they came to the pool to tell us we could check in the room. The room was beautiful and the bed were very comfortable. After we had some rest the lady from the reception told us some nice walk how to get to the CBD. Thank you all.

a. c.We were there for one night. The room was clean and lovely. Air conditioning was working. The shower was really good. The only problem was connecting to the internet. There was no signal in the room and the person in the reception could not help me. They do publish a support number and email, but I could not be bothered to call for the one night we stayed. The hotel is close to the city centre, which was a bonus. Be aware: if you buy the continental breakfast you have some cereals, toast and jam, boiled eggs,cheese and tomatoes. Coming from the UK, this was a surprise as we are used with many more options. All in all it was a lovely stay.

S. D.Stayed here for 2 nights at the start of August 2019. Myself and my partner were actually moving apartments and needed somewhere close to South Bank to facilitate this.
Excellent location for walking to the city and visiting the South Bank region including the Queensland museum.
We stayed in the apartment which was clean and had everything we required to cook breakfast and dinners. Large underground carpark made it easy to come and go as we please.
Overall, a comfortable stay with good facilities
M. C.Was disappointed that they would not let us charge our electric car while staying here. All we needed was a normal three point power point, but when we rang up before our visit to arrange it we were told that there were no power points in the parking garage. We stayed with them anyway, using another car, and quickly found a power-point in the garage. Sooooo, not the lack of powerpoints then, but they obviously have a problem with it. At some stage soon it will start losing them customers so they need to sort it out. Otherwise, room was basic but comfortable and clean, great location, walking distance to art galleries, museum, QPAC etc.

Most dissapointed with the breakfast. Bare bones basic continental breakfast. Absolutely nothing indulgent, could live with that, but then got bad attitude from the guy who was running it... Would recommend getting your brekkie down at south bank instead
H. S.Great location. The river is nearby along with all the tourist places. Just a 5 minute walk will get you to the riverbank and a stroll from there will cover all the good places. A 10 minute walk on the opposite side will get you to a number of good restaurants with quality food. The amenities at the one bedroom apartment are nice and are sufficient to spend few days. Room service is consistent and kitchen has pretty decent utensils available for cooking as well.

P. G.I stayed here for 3 days 3/1/16 till 6/1/16 Great position, excellent staff ( the islander man was wonderful) well done to him. Nothing was to much trouble. They constantly help my son with all Hus questions (he has special needs and there where a lot of questions). I even rebooked for the end of the month. Excellent location very central. We had a 1 bedroom apartment, yes there where minor problems, but so does every other hotel. Don't read the bad reviews, make up your own mind. You won't be disappointed. We weren't.

Very friendly staff and great service, which is what I value above everything else. I will definitely return for the value and convenience of the location and the big balcony with chilled views of Brisbane City.

T. M.What a pleasure to be pampered again. The value for your money is unbelievable. The entire property is spotlessly clean. Few blocks from closest train station. There was fast internet throughout the hotel. The neighborhood seems pretty safe to walk around at night. Location was great- we walked to get to everywhere.
m. c.Beds are comfortable. Shower cubicles are small. Fellow guests can be very loud on weekends but it's quiet during the week. Smoking is allowed on balconies so be prepared for your room to stink of cigarettes should one of your neighbours light up and the wind is blowing in your direction. The food is ok and the staff are friendly and helpful.

C.The bed was not made properly, the bed was small and wheeled around on the floor. The bathroom was very small and did not have a working fan to remove steam. There was no peep hole in the door for safety. Room was clean and tidy. Wifi was excellent.

O. T. &. E. X.Booked one night through Wotif for $129, car parking included, so good deal. Room has a kitchen, washing machine and dryer, very ideal for family. Not new hotel but we liked it. Not great view as such as we were on 2nd floor but was very close to the Museum and South Bank. Air-conditioning being a bit old was making clicking noise all through night but tolerable. Overall, it is ideal for family in terms of free on-site parking, kitchen facility and location. We will book it again.

Checking my statements when got home to find that they had charged me extra for a meal my friend had ordered & paid for before we had left. So not real impressed with that experience. Otherwise was a great location close to all the things I needed on this stay.

N. F.My daughter and I attended the Catherine Tate show at QPAC on Tuesday, the 20th of November for her birthday on the 21st. I booked a room with one single and one double bed at the Riverside Hotel, Southbank. We were a short walk from QPAC. Our room was spotless. The staff were amazing. The facilities were all you could ask for. We had dinner and breakfast in their Montague Restaurant which was very reasonable and the service could not have been better. And the room rate was very reasoable at $149. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to attend a show at QPAC, and also visit the Art Gallery and the Museum. 10 out of 10.
T. M.A friend and I stayed here for 4 nights as part of a mystery holiday. The price was great for what we received. The location of the hotel is also great for guests. There were excellent restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel is very convenient to the interstate.
R. S.We stayed the day after they reopened after the flooding (25/1/11). They had everything we needed. Dinner and breakfast in the restuarant was great. Staff were very helpful and pleasant, especially since they would have had a tough couple of weeks.

My only complaint was that I thought my booking was made for a lesser charge, but unfortunately the confirmation sent by the hotel didn't confirm the cost, in fact the attachment failed to be delivered twice. The step into it was steep & there wasn't anything 2 hold on 2. There is a restaurant which I didn't need 2 use & there is supposed 2 b a meeting room which I didn't get 2 see.

The hotel is surrounded by roads and is very noisy. I was first given a second floor room that looked out over a multilane highway overpass at the samw level. The lovely staff moved me to the opposite side of the building which was quieter but still not as quiet as I like.

L. G.If you are looking for a good place to grab a quiet drink at lunch or meet friends after work, Riverside is fantastic. The service is always prompt and professional, the atmosphere and decor is nice and tasteful, and the drinks are good and reasonably priced for the area. The only caveat is parking - as it's located in Southbank, parking is always hit or miss, particularly of an evening. Nevertheless, if you are in Southbank or West End or elsewhere within walking distance, it's definitely well worth your time and money.
T.We stayed 3 nights in May. Found it an easy walk to Southbank and the CBD. Just a step away from GOMA and Museum. We stayed in a standard room. Comfortable overall except we found the bed soft and rolled into each other but the single bed also in the room saved an uncomfortable sleep. Although close to Highway sounds didn't worry us (double glazed windows maybe?)
The Free car parking is a bonus in Brisbane cbd.

L. B.Stayed here recently to attend the Brisbane International Tennis. This hotel is only 2 blocks from South Brisbane railway station. Very handy to Southbank and galleries and museums.The staff are wonderful (even the cleaners) with special mention to Coleen. Though the hotel is showing its age, it was a very comfortable stay, thank you to everyone.

Lovely 10 minutes stroll along the river boardwalk past the GOMA and library and your in the centre of Queens Street Mall or wander down to Southbank and the QPac precinct. Best. Alien for money in CBD...
