D. B.Great dive spot, chilled hostel with good staff. Pool table with plenty of spare balls (see photos) Views of the beach just a minute walk, tractors and boats.
E. Y.Needs a much bigger kitchen space, definitely too cramped for the amount of guests staying, but was well equipped. Not a memorable hostel and could do with some tlc for the price of it, but at least there is a hotel on Stradbroke island which is well worth a visit. The beds were comfy enough but being on the top bunk it was really hot next to the light! Was mostly clean though and not too noisy
A. B.Awesome stay for a couple of nights in a family room. Complete bonus that there was a fridge! Amazing access to the beach and shops/food options. Will definitely be back.

We stayed a couple of night during the quiet period. Hostel amenities and room were nice, everything was clean with very few suspicious stains. Only downside was how far out of the town it is, it's a solid 15-20 walk to the nearest shop or pub. Other than that happy days!
B. H.Comfortable, clean, great location, right next to the beach. Scuba diving outings organised from the hostel. Friendly, helpful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our 6-night stay here.
M. Y. W.The hostel is located at the beachfront but you might not be able to have the sea view in your room. The beach is probably 2 minutes walk away with powdery sand that is perfect to have a stroll in. Swimming in the sea is very refreshing too
S.Perfect location close to the beach, staff was friendly, everything was clean, got to know many nice people.
However, there's no air conditioning in rooms only fans (that won't reach every bed) so if you're booking a 6 beds room you might end up sweating all night long.
For more than 30$ a night you could at least expect some air con, this was more expensive than my whole apartment in Brizzy and for me a hostel is about cheap accommodation.
W. N.Comfy beds, clean showers and toilets and lots of common space to socialise and enjoy. The laundry was well equipt and quite reasonably priced. Kitchen facilities were more than adequate. Close to the beach with very friendly and helpful staff.
J. W.Stayed here for three nights during a not so busy time of the year and absolutely loved it! The staff were extremely nice and friendly and the place had a really chill atmosphere. Would definitely stay here again in the future!
A. I. (.Stayed here for a weekend. The diving was fantastic, the ocean was beautiful, the team was great, but holy crap - was it hot!!!
During the heatwave devoid of any breeze, it was still 30c with high humidity at midnight, so with no aircon in the rooms and only a tiny wall mounted desk fan to keep things cool... It made it almost impossible to sleep :-/
4 stars because the diving really was that good that I didn't care. Sleeping above the dive shop made things so much easier.
... I just wish people on Straddle knew what aircon was, haha.
L. H.We loved our stay there. Staff and guests all very welcoming. James and team were so professional with the diving. The only negative is we had to leave. Thanks very much! We hope to return.
M. F.Was my second visit to Island and was with my family this time....there customer service is excellent, there fully operating kitchen is something thats worth mentioning coz we were traveling with Kids and being able to cook for them was and advantage. And Staffs are very friends.
