A wonderful experience here.
Clean modern rooms with great facilities. We were a family of 5 and they accommodated us with connecting rooms.
The Wet Deck was our highlight and the service around the pool by the staff was amazing.
10/10 for COVID hygiene staff constantly cleaning and wiping surfaces.
It's located in a perfect place everything we wanted to enjoy was walking distance.
Can't wait to return

From the time we checked in to the time we checked out, all staff where amazing to deal with. The check in team was wonderful, we asked to change rooms to a higher floor and this was done without a fuss. The meals were to class and the room was well presented. The view from the room across Brisbane and the river was picture postcard. We have done a lot of International travel and stayed in some great hotels. However the people within the hotel is what makes it great. So well done you have a great hotel. We will be back.

Decided to splurge on a night to reset before a relocation - worth every penny. Bath? Heaven. Shower? Heaven. Bed? Heaven. Room service? Heaven. It was all heavenly, but it was the fantastic customer service from arrival to departure that really made it for me.
AWAY Spa is absolutely divine and I am kicking myself that I've not been here until leaving Brisbane. Steve is a darling and the massage was out of this world. Give yourself a few hrs here, I definitely wish I had allowed more time to enjoy everything it has to offer.
Even all masked up, it was service with a smile and I never felt an inconvenience as I have at other Brisbane establishments. My only regret is the old cliche that I didn't stay longer. Thanks team!

Unreal experience - nicest hotel we've stayed at. Staff are wonderful and amazingly helpful. Day spa was out of this world and the room was exquisite. Blue Duck restaurant was next level. Amenities are superb and super clean 10/10. Simply the best 👌 👍 😍

Absolutely loved our stay at the W Brisbane, actually, probably the best hotel experience I've ever had. Every detail was thought of and all services seamlessly delivered. Things that stood out: The vibe at the pool was a like a day club on the beach, room's tech connectivity and lighting options, decor throughout very chic (auto black out blinds!), 24/7 access to the pool and an very well fitted out hotel gym. Staff were also exceptional, we received an extra late complimentary check-out and were personally contacted via email prior to arrival about special requests.
I'm typically not one to spend much time in a hotel while travelling but after this experience, will definitely check out the new W in Sydney and Melbourne.

The hotel room was lovely. Most of the staff were great. There is a huge bar in your room, but no ice, and no room for your own drinks in the fridge. So we had to keep ordering ice, and then got charged a delivery fee for it. We had a group of us, and we wanted to have a cocktail in the hotel bar, but was told it was full and we should try elsewhere. The idea was that because the room cost so much we would enjoy the bars at the hotel, but that didn't really work out that well.
The rooms were gorgeous. It was the other little things that was frustrating. Like car parking. Very expensive through the hotel. But literally underneath, you can get secure parking for cheaper.
I would go back, but I would do it differently next time.

I’m pretty sure W stands for ‘WOW’!
As I opened my room door, the window shears opened automatically to reveal an amazing view of the river. The hotel is funky, electric and has curiosities everywhere you turn. The bed is super comfortable and the 1200 checkout is convenient- loved my stay!

Wow! Fantastic hotel with lots of small and thoughtful touches in the rooms. Not your typical hotel room (and that’s a good thing). Incredible views and the general feeling is that it’s a very high-quality place.

it a fancy hotel but that's just it. I stayed there for 2 nights with my husband. When we entered our room, it was very dusty. pool is quite smaller that I thought. House keepers and other workers who brought the room service were friendly and kind, but the people at the reception seemed a bit blunt. Overall, the hotel is overpriced for what they could offer.

We had a three night stay for our wedding anniversary. The hotel was in a great central location to explore our own city.
The room was spacious, with an amazing view of the Brisbane river and beyond. …

Because of pandemic and no chance for international or even interstate travel, I had to book 2 rooms for my family in W Hotel Brisbane (20 min from my home) via Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts using my annual Amex travel credits. It is an …

With the hubbub of COVID my normal Sofitel booking had a change so it was a great chance to check out the W on the opposite side of town.
The W is a modern hotel part of the Marriot chain located at the top end of town. The location is perfect for Southbank, city shopping, the casino and many restaurants.
Next to the Brisbane river you are afforded excellent views of the river, Southbank and arts centre as well as deep into Brisbane’s west. Many of the storms roll in this way so it’s great for a lovely Queensland storm.
I booked via AMEX Fine Hotels and Resorts in a corner room. The booking included a potential upgrade with availability, daily breakfast for 2 as well as $100 USD for in-house spending.
While I didn’t get an upgrade I was on the 25th floor and had an amazing view towards the west. Eastern rooms face the city and I imagine other buildings so the view may be hit and miss.
I was really happy with my room. It was lovely and roomy, just enough “quirk” while maintaining functionality you’d expect of a high end hotel.
Bed was nice and comfortable, plenty of pillows as well as electronic control centre beside the bed for lights as well as curtains.
Wifi internet was free and available throughout the facility. Good speed and easy connections.
The bathroom was also large with separate toilet, shower and bath. Soaps were nice, I didn’t notice any other amenities you see in the higher hotel bathrooms such as razors etc.
Breakfast is served in their main restaurant Three Blue Ducks… It’s a lovely big space with a open verandah with great views and a nice breeze - a huge benefit in COVID times.
During my stay there was no buffet breakfast with ah la carte ordering. To be honest I am a many of simple breakfasts, eggs Benedict, coffee and access to the news on my iPad.
I found the menu seemed to be trying hard to be quirky but perhaps I am just of that age now.
First day I tried the breakfast burrito… Wasn’t a a fan with the avocado being served rock hard… Post this I stuck with eggs, toast and avo and it was perfect…
For some reason beyond me they have developed their own version of Vegemite and it’s not easy to dodge. It seems to come with everything. It might be for you, it was not for me.
Room service is via a QR code and website. Menu not that extensive and similar quirk factor. I had a BBQ Beef pizza and dessert. The pizza was heavy on cheese and it’s almost like the beef was an after thought… Too anaemic for the price that was charged.
Given it’s 2021 and we are now 2 years into a global pandemic I also have to comment on COVID safety.
On my visit QLD had just reopened and COVID cases were literally doubling every day. Masks were just mandated for indoors in a variety of situations. Sadly this is one point that I feel the hotel really failed.
Firstly the hotel only has 3 lifts available to serve more than 30 floors. This rendered social distancing near impossible at peak times.
People were also not always wearing masks in the lift, some were surly if you even asked. Further to this one guest told me she was advised by management that she did not have to wear masks inside the precinct if she didn’t want to.
I checked this with the front desk who confirmed this was the case “as only double vaxxed people can stay here”.
That said nobody was checking QR codes or vaccination status as you walked in so this is rather a moot point. I walked past the front desk multiple times to see staff happily serving guests while wearing their masks under their nose, on their chin or no mask at all.
QR code checking was done at the restaurant at breakfast in but other than that, any unvaccinated person can be present in the hotel, or a visitor to the rooms.
Sadly for me this left me anxious and I spent more time not getting in lifts due to people choosing to not wear masks.
Overall rating 4.5 for hard product, 5 for staff enthusiasm and helpfulness however 2 stars for their way of addressing a global pandemic.

Great hotel if your looking for a weekend in Brisbane. We spent one night here on the 13th floor overlook the Brisbane River. Couldn’t fault it except for our toilet which kept running and had to be flushed a couple of times. Bed was huge …

Loved, Loved, loved! The room was stunning and the service fantastic. The only thing I would have liked to have seen was a bath shelf to go over bath so I could place my drink and book and some bath salts would have been nice. Very impressed with the Wet deck and Three Blue Ducks. Keep up the good work.

Just checked in today and going to stay here to cross the new year. The location is premium, great view. However I was pretty disappointed with the details:The room floor was dusty, hairs In the bath tub, bath tub tap is not working. The room is not family friendly, basically nothing was prepared for kids.

My husband and I booked a 4 night stay at the W to celebrate his 50th birthday. From our arrival, through until checkout we had the best experience. The hotel is gorgeous, the staff super friendly and happy to help. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend it for a romantic getaway. Thank you W.
