S. D.We just had the one night here but wished it was longer! Wonderful hotel. Room was spacious and spotless and the bed was easily the most comfy hotel bed I've ever slept in. And we didn't hear one siren!! The inclusions in the room were excellent.
N. M.Had an executive studio and it felt like a one bedroom apartment. Very well laid out and designed. Bedroom felt spacious and bed a good size. Highly recommend for a stay.

It is mostly clean but I was disappointed that the bin in the bathroom was quite dirty on the outside and that the hallway outside the rooms was being vacuumed at 8am. Staff are helpful but the advertised pantry was short on stock. Not my favourite visit to this hotel.

Its in a central location... Surrounded by retail and eating places.
However, The facility as we enter smelled curry mixed with air freshener. The room we were given was small and on the side of the main road opposit the ambulance station. It had One chair - it was for the desk, no dinning table.
It had a coffee maker and a few pods provided. The staff who assisted was nice.
Anyway we had to cancel our booking.
The money was refunded the next day after deducting 2 days fees.
E. T.Nice clean rooms, good service, but very noisy at night, due to pub next door, especially weekends.
I. C.We stayed in one of the disabled rooms which suited our needs perfectly. The only issue we had was with the disabled parking. On our last night people without parking permits had taken all the allocated spaces and I had to park in the driveway.
R. H.Smelled like smoke, and despair. Service was really friendly. Garden, decor, and carpets were unloved. Adjacent to the emergency services station, and the local pub. Between that and the smoking from the other guests, serenity is not assured.
W. I.Cleaning is bad and male reception is hyperactive egotistical lacks good hospitality skills. Standards are slipping sadly.Abode has always been higher standards and clean.

B.The best thing about this Abode is the location - so close to lots of shops and great places to eat but I especially liked how close it was to a very scenic lake for a daily morning exercise walk (lots of different tracks for short or long walks). If you have kids there is some great play equipment and a skate park. The room was clean and well provisioned. The carpet is due for replacement but everything else was in good order. Very handy to have a washing machine/dryer within the studio room. I liked having an upstairs room with a balcony rather than glass doors onto an open patio area that is accessible by foot traffic. My room was over-looking Anthony Rolfe Avenue which is quite busy with an emergency services depot opposite but with the glass door closed there wasn't much noise to be heard from outside (just sirens a couple of times) - I was there for the full week before Christmas and I didn't even hear much from the busy restaurant/pub below. No noise from other patrons inside except maybe a few doors that were left to bang accidentally. Cleaning staff were particularly friendly and helpful.
As a disability support worker/travelling companion I asked to have a look at one of their accessible rooms. It was upstairs with same view as my room. There is a small lift opposite reception and ramp access to reception from the disabled parking space. The bathroom is spacious with a handrail beside the toilet and a plastic shower chair with arms provided. However, the tile floor is not a non-grip surface and a wide fixed/drop down shower bench plus handrails around shower would suit my non-standing/non weight-bearing companion better. The sink is suspended from the wall with room to get legs in under (either side of pipe) but too high to use comfortably for brushing teeth or shaving while sitting in a wheelchair. Also, mirror/cabinet is too high above sink to be able to be used by someone in a wheel chair (would need to bring own hand-held shaving mirror and maybe also your own anti-slip mat for the floor). Kitchen sink/bench/stove-top in this studio are probably too high to be easily used by most wheelchair users. There is not a lot of room around the side of bed to transfer from a wheelchair but it is probably manageable with assistance or a slide board. In short, there is room for improvement and suggestions have been made to management via a feedback card.
T. S.Amenities are great. Everything you could need.
Only issue I found was the McDonald's drive thru is just outside the window (room 51) and the speaker is loud enough you can hear muffled talking all night. Wasn't too much of an issue as I'm a heavy sleeper, but could concern others.

A. G.The room was spacious and comfortable with everything I needed. Close to the shops and easy to check in/out. Excited to hear they permit pets so would definitely visit again in the future if my tavels take me back to Canberra.
S. A.Staff were friendly and provided an easy check-in and check-out service. Stayed in a family room which was clean, beds were comfortable and it came with all amenities including an in room washer/dryer. We were able to park onsite at no extra cost, and access to main shopping centre/ food outlets was within walking distance.
T. Y.An excellent “truly dog-friendly” accomodation. We stayed at the Abode for business in the month of December around 2 years ago. Some hotels are dog friendly then they but make you sign a million clauses and T&C. I think every room was dog friendly unlike some hotels which only have 1 or 2 dog friendly rooms. The location was great. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare for those returning late in the evening. For those who complain about the occasional barking dog staying at the hotel, I would much rather listen to a barking dog than a bunch of kids screaming down the hallway. We certainly did not hear any misbehaving dogs when we stayed there.
Overall, highly recommended for those travelling for business with their beloved pooches.
C.Friendly reception and easy booking and check-in. Room has all the facilities like coffee machine, washer cook top etc. Only downside is very limited parking spaces.
P. K.The receptionist was lovely and the facilities were really nice. The only issue we had was that the washer/dryer in the room that we happened to use was difficult to use and didn't dry the clothes very well. However the receptionist was quick to call housekeeping to come and assist. One other slight suggestion would be to have bed side tables for each bed. On that note, the beds were very comfortable and big. And they had the aircon on for us before we got there so we were greeted with a nice cool room on arrival. Highly recommended.
S. B.Lovely rooms well appointed apartments. Access a big issue. Only one lift located reception end and parking spots taken by nearby restaurants :( Would not recommend for those with physical health issues. Entry doors extremely heavy. Plus side pets allowed, down side barking dogs. Sadly would not stay again.
C. K.Beds were very comfy. Customer service fantastic. Loved that the Porter cot had a thicker mattress in it to make the bed more comfortable. Only negative was that parking is shared with Siren restaurant which means if you go out it can be hard to find a park again. Also the room phones weren't working, but that's just an inconvenience.

Very helpful staff. Hotel is near good shopping center. A little out of cbd but pleasant short drive to it. Highly recommend.
J. M.We really enjoyed the abode. It really felt like a place that we could look after ourselves. With a dishwasher, washing machine, iron, toaster, coffee machine, and more. It was really nicely appointed. The service was lovely. I'm not someone to give 5 stars for everything, but we always enjoyed this.

The washer and dryer is a combo. As a result, it does neither very well. We dried a few hoodies for 3hrs and they still came out damp.
If you’re not here for washing, you shouldn’t find too much to moan about 👍
D. A.A nice modern and clean place to stay. Housekeeping not good enough in our room. Very noisy, drunk and abusive guests near us, who kept us awake from 1-5am and there was no security or staff on site to call.

I. C.I have stayed here on numerous ocassions in 2019 as part of work. The Staff are very friendly amd helpful. Its almost an automated hotel where you can stay outside Canberra City whilst you can access into the city through the Canberra Metro which is a 4min walk from the Hotel. Travel on Metro into the City takes 28mins compared to by road which takes 45mins to an hour. I really loved my stays at the Abode Gungahlin with great staff especially Aiyman, of Sudanese descent. The rooms are well designed and convenient for long term stays where you can cook, and stock up food items for longer periods. The hotel even kept my leftover non-perishables for my next trip which was very convenient for me.
P. B.Room was smaller than expected but high quality and with good facilities. Free wifi is very good to see, as well as free on-site parking. Bed and linens were a bit disappointing but aircon made it not really a problem. Location is easy to get to and close enough to CBD for driving but won't be great for public transport until the new Tramlines are done.

J. B.Great location, king studio room comfortable and very well appointed. Beware that there is two grades of wifi. Free is rubbish or pay for decent. Hotel booking sites won't tell you this. Cheapskates can use Bunnings wifi during store hours.

Easy access to nice barista coffee at Macca's and with KMart and Target just around the corner any last minutes things you forget on your travels can be easily picked up. We were two adults, two kids (10 & 11) and a small dog.

A. S.Clean hotel, room service was a little lacking on replenishing consumables. Locations are amazing for convenience just not so for nice views. The incision of a washer and dryer was great.

Das Hotel ist vielleicht schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen und ganz besonders die Teppiche sollten dringend ersetzt werden. ABER: Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und die Einrichtung ist genial. Da fehlt eigentlich gar nichts. Selbst einen Geschirrspüler hat es.

Super good hotel, because I ordered a wrong hotel at the time, almost ruined my holiday. Fortunately, I found this hotel, the price is reasonable, the environment is super good, and the staff is extremely diligent. I have decided to go to Canberra to designate it in the future.
