The staff were very friendly and did everything possible to make the stay pleasant. They were also very responsive of any requests I had. Good value for money.

Good price and you will have anything you need like shower gel, hair dryer, smart TV, iron board, some tea bags and coffee, mini fridge with some milk inside but they didn't provide any toothbrush and toothpaste, pls bring your own. There's plenty of cars parking, it's a ideal place to stay if you just want to spent a night or two in Canberra, it's affordable and cosy.
ps: The coffee powders is expired I guessed, I have a terrible experience with that but the tea is fine.
C. M.Really good value for money. We stayed in a renovated 2 bedroom apartment, which we really enjoyed. The old style look on the outside gave way to a modern, well appointed unit with good sized rooms, comfy beds, a modern bathroom, well stocked kitchen and a sun-filled verandah. The BBQ area was lovely and the gardens were well kept. The staff were really friendly and responsive. We extended our stay and wouldn't hesitate in staying again.
G. L.Nice hidden gem in Canberra with hotel and apartment rooms and plenty of parking. Well priced and you get what you pay for. The rooms and furniture are a little dated, but the kitchen and bathroom are new. It's a good choice if that's your budget.
D. M.It's very affordable and well situated. The WiFi was great as was their service time responce. Our door lock jammed while we were there, and within minutes of contacting them they had someone there. The buildings are older but clean and very practical. However, if stairs are problematic ask for a ground floor apartment.
Aesthetics are modest but commensurate with cost. The pics were when we left, so the messiness is on us, not them.

Rooms are average no bad at all comfortable bed, however, the worst part of it was that in the room 7 the toilet has a small step, maybe 20mm, but me and my wife hit it and there is not any advertisement to be aware of that. I think if someone is not wearing shoes it can cause serious damage to your toes or feet

J. C.We stayed at Forrest Hotel & Apartments Canberra for four nights in the July school holidays 2021. Initially we had only booked for the two nights. We extended our stay not even 24 hours in. We were so impressed with the value for money.
On arrival we were greeted by the friendly and accommodating staff at reception. We made our way to our self contained apartment. What can I say? As soon as we walked in to the apartment we were SOLD! The first thing that caught our attention was the attention to cleanliness. The entire apartment was immaculately clean!! The next thing we loved was how homely the accomodation was!!
There was not one kitchen utensils that wasn't provided, the oven was sparkly clean ready for us to cook cupcakes for the three children that loved their stay too!
Not one thing in our apartment was spared, all perfectly attended to. We have made the decision that we are coming back in October this year as it really lives up to idea that for us, its our home away from home. The location is blue ribbon and we will not being looking elsewhere. Many thanks Forrest Hotel and Apartments for making our holidays thoroughly enjoyable!

D.I have stayed at the Forrest Hotel for more than a week during the start of ACT lockdown and I can more than recommend the Forrest Hotel. The personnel is friendly and will always lend a hand in whatever you need. They printed forms, no charge and extended check out, free until 10:30am. Room service was excellent and always had enough coffee, tea, sugar and milk, and a clean room. Thank you for your excellent service😀

J. S.Staff ok , had to keep asking for fresh towels , cleaning of rooms could have improved. Regarding car parking space, a TRUCK was parked outside our apartment which took up nearly 2 CAR Park Spaces. When I enquired why this vehicle was allowed , seeing that it arrived on the Monday night and did not move till Saturday morning I was told somebody would get back to me , “ NOBODY did “. When we returned Saturday night the TRUCK was back .
We won’t be back to Forrest Apartments !!
m. s.Friendly helpful staff who offer free tourist information, leaflets and will book tickets for you if needed. The rooms are clean and comfortable. You get a free daily newspaper and are central to all attractions and many cafes, within walking distance. Quiet rooms with beautiful views. Coffee making facilities in room. It has all a weary traveller or holiday maker needs.
A. Q.Immaculate condition, super comfortable bed. Everything you need for a self contained stay. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the parking was not close to our apartment and it was raining when we arrived, (not their fault obviously) but with kids and luggage it would be nice not having far to walk. There are apartments with parking out the front though. Ours didn't. Otherwise extremely happy. Very cheap, nice little gem.

A.I’ve stayed in around 4 standard rooms in this hotel.
As someone who has stayed in many hotels I'm impressed with a lengthy list (below) of practical and comfortable features in all the rooms I've booked. These make the competitive rates (lowest I've seen) terrific value.
Features listed below are particularly noted because not all hotels have them in my experience, and a few features I’ve only seen in the occasional hotel:
Very Clean.
Well maintained
Good size fridge (half size more practical for longer stay or multiple guests).
Several wall power boards minimises fuss swapping over devices/appliances and helpful for business stays and multiple guests.
Properly hot water, Comfortable bed, Modern air-conditioning individual room units.
Good multi-purpose bench space for work or other, in addition to dining table.
Generous size TV placed high on the wall for comfortable viewing, excellent reception, channels programmed according to TV guide.
New/modern parts/upgraded where it counts – e.g. shower heads, solid modern vanity, bathroom in general. Soaps dispensers less messy and wasteful than soap bars.
Curtains properly cover window for privacy.
Door security chain, Electric blanket, Clean kettles, Cutlery and plates, Good size towels.
Bedside lamps are the flexible type you can position according to preference , multiple brightness setting (both great for light sensitivity) and on/off button easy to locate in the dark.
Onsite, close free parking
Terrific location, central but also in an attractive area with spacious tree-lined streets, great for walks.
Lastly, and one of the biggest pluses, experienced, friendly staff, who know the hotel well and particularly helpful to me – thank you for your assistance in such unusual and trying times, especially knowing the strains of lock-down on you and your staff.

K.When one wants to visit galleries, museums, markets, arboretum, walk through the Parliament House Gallery, the cartoon exhibition in Old Parliament House , stop to acknowledge the Tent Embassy and in between, wine and dine, all in a few days break from Sydney, Forrest Hotel is the perfect place to stay, with friendly helpful staff to keep us on the go.

J. R.We were a group of three adults who enjoyed a very comfortable five night stay at Forrest Hotel and Apartments in late May, 2021. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment. From the minute we walked in the door we were impressed with how spacious the apartment was. The living/dining area was a good sized space for the three of us with a couch and chairs and dining table. The space included a flat screen tv and reverse cycle unit. The area had good natural light from several windows which overlooked the courtyard. The place was very clean and in excellent condition.
The kitchen was well equipped with a full sized refrigerator and stove/oven, it had plenty of bench space and all the requirements for meal preparation. The beds were pocket spring mattresses, soo comfortable with good quality linen. There were electric blankets on the beds and spare blankets to provide extra warmth, if required, during the chilly Canberrian nights. A washer/dryer was provided and the bathroom had a rain shower. Our apartment opened out to a grassed courtyard with undercover barbeque facilities provided for guests. Well maintained flowering plants and trees provided a very pleasant outlook. A tennis court was adjacent to this courtyard for those who wished to partake. Undercover parking was provided in close proximity to the apartment. A ten minute walk brought you to the Manuka shopping precinct, where there is a great choice of cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, bars and even a bookstore for your perusal. Forrest is a beautiful area and really quiet. We highly recommend you consider staying here on your next visit to Canberra.
B. J.The staff were so accommodating regarding our extended 6 week stay and the uncertainty of our finish date due to hospital treatment unknowns. Also when we mentioned some issues re the bed comfort nothing was to difficult to resolve our comfort issues. Also when a couple of hidden maintenance issues raised they were attended to immediately. All in all a very comforting stay in our self contained 1 bedroom apartment. Regarding pricing the management were amenable to negotiating a long term stay which we were happy to agree to.

V. K.We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment and it was modern, clean and comfortable. Appliances and fittings are of high quality. Location is also excellent, only a short drive away from the city centre. I will be staying here again when I am in Canberra next time

h. w.We recently stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment at the Forrest Hotel and Apartments. The apartment block was in a quiet location, quite close to the supermarket in Manuka, with its numerous great cafes and restaurants. There is also a cinema located in Manuka village.
The apartment itself was clean and spacious, and well equipped with everything needed in the kitchen, and had a washing machine. The beds were comfortable and there was a great shower. Parking was within the apartment complex.
The autumn morning was cold and we set out for a brisk walk around the neighbourhood. The trees lining the streets and through the nearby park were ablaze with autumn colours, and we explored the whole area, which was so close to Parliament House.
There is a fascinating historic Serbian church nearby which is adorned with hand painted murals across the walls and ceiling. I had last visited there many years before when the old Russian man was still working on his incredible project precariously balanced on a ladder.
This church is open to the public from 10 am most days.
As we were packing the car to leave we chatted with the manager of the Hotel, and he was friendly and engaging.
We will be visiting Canberra frequently for a while, and the Forrest Hotel and Apartments will be high on my list of possible venues when I am thinking of where to stay. Canberra can be a very expensive city for accommodation.These apartments offer good, comfortable accommodation for a reasonable price and the location really is hard to beat.

We found the hotel room clean, spacious and comfortable. The Sherwood restaurant has a variety of meal options and the Pizza is fantastic. Just a short stroll to Manuka and Kingston with supermarket, restaurants and boutiques AND an excellent bookshop Paperchain for your winter reading. Very closeby is Ottoman restaurant with its lovely ambiance, great menu, charming host Serif and an excellent winelist…. Which meant we had to use our well set up kitchen the next night. Free offstreet parking meant we strolled to the National Gallery to work off the previous night’s dinner calories, with a detour to the rose gardens near Old Parliament House. After a day wandering the National Gallery, the Portrait Gallery, and the excellent exhibition at the National Library, we were ready to sink into the apartment’s comfortable leather lounge with a glass of excellent award winning Ken Helm reisling (from not far away along the road to Yass), a cheese platter and a quiet relaxed in house dinner while we planned the following day’s agenda. Not to mention the convenience of the washing machine in our apartment to deal effortlessly with our travel clothes. The well equipped kitchen meant a leisurely holiday breakfast each day and the barbeque in the garden is great for when we stay there for summer long twilights. Yes, we are frequent repeat guests to Forrest apartments as we find the good location close to so many Canberra attractions is an unbeatable combination with its friendly staff and comfortable features. After many years of staying at various Canberra accommodations, the Forrest is our first choice for all our repeat visits.

J. C.I had stayed at Forrest once before and the second visit is a standout. My daughter and I arrived in Canberra about 1.30am during one of Sydney's time of Covid outbreaks. We were heading back to Vic. & did not need a permit to enter the ACT. I tried all Motels and those that answered the phone were still closed owing to Covid. I could not remember the name of the Motel I had previously stayed at until I recognised it in Motel listings.
Thank goodness it was open and we received the exact friendly welcome I experienced previously. What's more because of the lateness of our arrival they offered us a very generous late checkout.
Thank you Forest and most importantly you offered great rates and I look forward to my next two day visit which will be generously donated by yourselves.

E.Good location and nice street. Cleanliness could of been better. There was hair on the bathroom ceiling and dead bugs on the picture frame. We also rang reception at 7.30am for more coffee and the guy advised we need to get it from reception and not to come until 8am.

They have nice foods at the restaurant and walking distance to where cafe, shops and coles. Basic room but daily room service cleaning is provided as well as new pair of towels. Inside are iron board, iron, coffee, tea sugar,milk, shampoo and conditioner provided. The first place that I've stayed so far while traveling that has multiple power outlets inside the bedroom.

N. v. d. N.Canberra at Christmas is quiet, which reflected on the hotel. A quiet hotel, in a quiet location. But very close to Parliament House. Canberra is a large city with everything spread out so it's difficult to say "this hotel is central" or "that hotel is central" to everything. That's impossible. But for the Parliament house and Lake district, this hotel was lovely. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Enough onsite parking too. Restaurant and shopping district only two blocks away. The room was clean and the bathroom spacious. The only possible negative (and it's not a biggie) is that the restaurant boasts a 'bar' but it doesn't actually have a bar (that most people understand). And the restaurant closes early. However, given that I was the only person in there over a two hour period, there's really no point to stay open. The bar and restaurant staff are very friendly and the service was great. The price point is spectacular. We'd definitely return! Thanks for a lovely stay.

The location is ideal with all major attractions within minutes drive. We travelled with 2 kids so we had booked a 2 bed room apartment and it was a perfect decision. Our elder one who is 4 years old had enough space to play in the living room and had his own space. All basic facilities like kitchen, laundry and coffee - just perfect. Rooms were clean and the apartment was really comfortable. Staff was also very friendly.

The room was so clean! The bathroom had a tissue box and liquid soap/shampoo for the body/hair. It was these little things that made a huge difference! Also the room was adequately heated for the cold night with some ventilation from the windows.

W.We had a work crew stay here for approx. 8 off 10x4 swings and the staff could not have been more accommodating, always went out of their way to ensure our guys had somewhere to rest their weary heads, even though accommodation was at premium demand due to the time of year and other things happening in Canberra at the time. A.Rooms are small and might need a bit more “modern” renovation but it is still simply one of the better places I have stayed. It’s cosy and comfy and enough for a couple. The beds are comfy and it is in a beautiful spot. Very nice to have Manuka in walking distance as it makes for a lovely outing with my partner for a romantic dinner and movie when the cinema was open.

J. Y. S.We lived in the 2 bedroom apartment. It was well furnished with cooking pots, utensils, plates. It even had a coffee machine and provided capsules. There was also a washing machine that came with a dryer function and even a dishwasher.We lived in the Albany apartment, the only thing was that we had to climb stairs to get up even though it was just one apartment. It also did not have a air conditioner or fan inside the room, just only at the living room. It would be quite hot in the summer if I didn't leave my room door open. All in all, I was pretty satisfied with the accomodation.

M. A.Stayed here for one night On way back to Queensland from Melbourne. Although the outside looked a bit old, the inside was surprisingly updated. Beautiful comfortable and large beds with electric blankets and thick bedding. A laundry with modern combined washer/dryer. A large bathroom with a very modern shower. Large kitchen with modern appliances including a dishwasher. Large TV, air conditioning. An outside area for barbecues and an on site restaurant. Close to everything and definitely worth the extremely good price I paid for the night. On any return trips to Canberra I will be checking to see if there is a vacancy. The things that I didn't like is the blanket looks old and not comfortable. I'd prefer a quilt or something but not some woollen throw. The ironing board is also old and not very clean. Hopefully they'll change it.

We stayed here for two nights in two bed room apartment which was very clean and good sized apartment. It can accommodate up to 5 to 6 adult and 1 kid.
We will certainly consider this place first if we have to visit Canberra again. Four star only because bathroom shower were open resulting into water all over the place and may cause trip/fall hazard so be careful while taking shower other than that it was good place to stay.

Their aim is to make you the most important person while you stay at "The Forrest".
The amenities are excellent, the rooms more than adequate, washer/drier, dishwasher, everything there to enhance our stay. Great bathrooms.
The accommodation has always been impeccable, their competent staff have higher standards of "clean", their kitchen chefs are brilliant with their tasty and diverse meals.
Breakfast is always a tasty pleasure, try their continental breakfast, very tasty, lunch and dinner are excellent. Their chefs are tops, what can I say, like the Da Vinci of cuisine.
How do you top this, you can't. I would give 10 stars, but I am limited to what was available.

This time there were four of us and I recommended Forrest Hotel and Apartments and wasn't disappointed. Great location, with privacy, plenty of parking, very little noise, and helpful and friendly staff. The rooms were great, there's all sorts of amenities such as washer/dryer, dishwasher, coffee machine, on top of all the usual amenities of fridge, tea/coffee & kettle, TV and comfy couch. Beds really comfortable, had a good sleep. Would definitely recommend, it's great and very reasonably priced! And free WiFi 🙂

Our room has a comfy bed, good pillows, fluffy towels, tea making facility and a toaster (with free cookies even), small table n chairs and smart TV. Was able to get a good night's kip before the 253km Fitz Challenge the next day.
Would be a great location for city sightseeing under normal circumstances, being on National Circuit and only a short walk away from Parliament House.
Would stay again if it came up best value in town, as it was when we stayed last time.

Staff seemed OK but neutral, neither overly friendly nor disinterested but just matter of fact. Would I stay again? maybe, wouldn't be high on my list however.

E. B.When I pulled up in the cab from the airport I thought the place looked a little dated and started to worry that maybe I was in for a rough couple of days. Then I stepped into the reception to check in and was greeted by wonderfully courteous staff that really made me feel welcome - a great first impression! My room was small and the decor a bit outdated but if you travel frequently you’ll appreciate the smaller things that hotels do to make your stay a pleasant one. This hotel ticked a lot of boxes - a REALLY comfortable bed with fluffy pillows, large bathroom towels that were super soft, a shower with brilliant water pressure, and a quiet room at night that muffled outdoor noise. That’s the kind of stuff you want. Very close to restaurants, supermarkets and circuses (ie Parliament House). I would definitely stay again, thank you.

J. K.We needed somewhere central to stay in Canberra for two nights over the weekend and found the Forrest Hotel & Apartments online. I called them to book a one bedroom apartment and was offered a renovated or an un-renovated option. The only difference was $10 per night so we went with the renovated in the Albany Apartment complex. We were well happy with the state of the apartment, it was warm (important in the middle of winter in Canberra) the bed was firm but comfortable, the pillows were fine, electric blankets on the bed, the apartment was clean, had a full kitchen, was reasonably priced and in a quiet area - no traffic noise, reasonably spacious for what it was, onsite undercover parking (important to avoid a frosty car in the morning) and friendly helpful reception staff. The restaurant wasn't open for dinner over the weekend which we found strange however the cafe strip of Manuka a 10 minute walk away. Coles and Liquorland there too! Our room wasn't serviced for the duration of our stay but that wasn't a deal breaker. I'd definitely book again next time we're in Canberra.
