Absolutely 5 star hotel. Very spacious rooms, great bathroom. Very quick and friendly check in and check out. Classy touches everywhere. Plenty of parking. Some mention of people like Obama and Serena Williams having stayed here in the past. If it's good enough for them, then it's good enough for me.

Excellent, best hotel in Canberra great get away.
Exclusive rooms.
Excellent coffee and dessert
Great outdoor courtyard
Good restaurants
Presidential suite is 10/10 for families.
Not modern but timeless.
Staff are a team and function like one.
Highly recommended Hyatt Hotel Canberra

Just an absolute pleasure to stay. The staff provided so many little perks, including celebratory chocolates for a birthday and a room upgrade. The staff were excellent from
Check in to check out, and the hotel has a beautiful resort vibe to it that you’d mistake for being on the main drag of Canberra! Absolutely recommend a stay here.

It’s supposed to be the greatest and priciest five star hotel in Canberra, yet it is so hard to get a decent rest due the the poor insulation of the rooms. We have stayed for two nights, the first night we were awakened by the loud water pipe/banging noise at midnight. Thankfully the friendly staff explained it was due to the ongoing failure of water hammer/heating system and offered to upgrade our room for free. Whilst the machinery noise was gone in the upgraded suite, we can still hear pigeons hooting and jumping around on the top of the ceiling in the morning and the guests talking in the room adjacent to ours at night. At least the rooms are clean and the staff are friendly, no complaints there. The hardware definitely needs an upgrade to match the name of Hyatt.

We have enjoyed the Hyatt high tea for years. You could say we are frequent eaters! Love the atmosphere of this beautiful Art Deco hotel and the staff are always very welcoming. The quality of the high tea is superb

King Corner room, the cost was worth 100% it. My partner and I loved the bed, the mattress was perfect, the pillows were thick and pliable, and the blanket was light but warm. The bathtub was long and provided a perfect soak, the shower was always hot and had good water pressure. We used the on-site gym, warm pool, spa, and sauna without issue with towels that the gym provided. Restaurant food was reasonably priced and the buffet breakfast was better for the pocket than the menu.

True 5 stars. Great comfy bed. Spacious bathroom fully equipped with soaking bath and plush towels. Great stay

Hotel has proud history, dated, needs updating or refurb, especially carpet and mattress as it was lacking any back support.
The staff was very attentive and communication was very prompt.
But Avash at concierge was very helpful especially when my wife was not well during stay. Thanks for the help Avash!
G. S.
Great hotel stay, beautiful building with good gym/swim and tasty breakky. Even had space to draw..love a bit of 'me time'.

Room upgrade to a house size awesome service and still a very sweet Hotel.
Good for a night walk around d but beware your safe inside . Found a class room for some extra school tuition for the elderly student before interruption from the school principal at 2.30 in the morning.heheh

The room is very clean. The staff are all very polite and helpful. My son enjoys the room service so much! Thank you.

Excellent service, a lovely preservation of Australia's historic architecture and ambience. Overall was a very pleasant stay for the family

I spent 4 days here with my mother and sister. We were looking for somewhere special and the Hyatt Canberra certainly provided that. All the staff, from the people who welcomed us, to the people helping with our bags, to the dinning staff, to the young man who brought us our nightly cup of ice, all the staff were amazingly kind and friendly. And a huge thanks to Tayla who works at the front desk who went out of her way to make our stay so special and unforgettable. It was all the little things she did that added up which made our stay so incredibly. Thank you so much Tayla for the best holiday we have ever had. We hope to return again.

Spent a nice and enjoyable wedding reception there. Appreciate the service and loved the taste.
N. Q.
My husband and I stayed here on our wedding night! They gave us a great upgrade and some wine and chocolates to celebrate! The breakfast buffet is a must do because the food was so amazing. We felt very looked after and there was always great service at any time of the day or night.

Very nice. Scones were great. Lovely setting with beautiful gardens.

This is perfect 5 star hotel ! Nice courtyards, great service. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending this place.

A wonderful place to stay. Such a deep history, yet so modern and comfortable.

Excellent well organised Hindu wedding.
Good Indian food

Breakfast was a pleasant and comfortable experience, lovely art deco building and friendly service. Quite expensive.
M. M.
True 5 star. Service was brilliant. Queen room was brilliant. Comfy bed and marble bathroom. Nothing needed attention. Just beautiful.

A bit dated, surely Canberra could do better than this if it's the best hotel. Maybe good for the older folks who prefer this style of of hotel. .. Hotel responded - great! I asked for a quiet room with a decent view - U guys gave me a room with a loud neighbour. Please note, hotel was fairly empty.
J. D.
A beautiful hotel in the grand old tradition. Very tastefully furnished, with clean rooms, everything needed is provided. Friendly, helpful staff. I can highly recommend the buffet breakfast in the Promenade Cafe (6:30am until 10:30am). I've always wanted to stay in the Canberra Hyatt and recently had the first of many hotel stays to come.
S. S.
Went to the tea lounge (high tea?) With family for the anniversary of my grandpa's death, the place was nice and the food was good and catered well to our vegetarian preferences. They had many fun options for teas and the food was cute and creative.
P. D.
I love the food there, fancy and also good place to have fun
D. K.
The staff especially Sumodh the doorman were so very helpful and pleasant. The chef produced outstanding food. The hotel needs more signposting as it is too easy to get lost and if you are disabled this is a big problem.
J. U.
Raj and vimal gave extremely good customer service and they had a good attitude serving us at the bar
L. M.
Service and Food as expected. We love the freshly brewed tea here.

Really beautiful hotel, great location, outstanding service! We had a king room with balcony on the front side and the room was really nice, big, bed was comfortable. Would be happy to give it 5 stars but.... So here are the buts. We had 3 pillows each, but all of them were huge and hard so couldn't sleep first night, in the morning asked for softer one and they were given us straight away, and the rest of our stay had nothing to complain about. When I first took a shower there was a love heart on the door drawn by someone who stayed there before so apparently it wasn't cleaned properly, also there was a long red hair on one of the robes. All the meals we had in the restraunt were really good, apart from salmon - they overcooked it and also charged us too much for that dinner which I only noticed after came back home and saw the receipt. Breakfasts were very basic and very boring. Pouched eggs were watery, there were no hams or salami or cheese so to eat every single day the same eggs is a bit not what I am used to. Tried pancakes, they were terrible! So apart from those little things our stay was wonderful and will definitely be back!
N. J. L.
Nice spot for a cocktail in Speakers Corner. Very nice staff too
D. B.
This used to be my favourite hotel in Canberra. But the price is outrageous and still no free parking ($25) in the underground car park. $500 per night for two nights, $70 for a half bottle of Veuve and so on! Very comfortable bed, amazing bathroom and $18 to watch a film! Great service at the front door. Would I go back? Probably not! I think that will be the last time I stay in this hotel. The architecture is great and I love the decor but the prices are over the top.
M. N.
Highly recommend to all my brides for service and location.
10/10
J. T.
Liked the indoor heated pool and the gym looked good. Toiletries were nice. I liked the very practical, small balcony on the renovated back part of the hotel!
Rooms were ok. We got the very basic King bed room. This would probably only rank as a 3-star in Asia and for the same price, you'd get more there. Not sure if it's fair to compare that way though. Staff were very good and friendly!

As a travelling IT Consultant in Canberra, Australia, I stayed on this hotel on the latter part of the 2016 and earlier part of 2017. The bedroom and bath are very large and I love the king size bed. I love the views from the bedroom and a great deal of animals - mostly birds. I love the breakfast buffet cause you have a great selection and it is a great deal. The facilities are excellent, they have a gym, you can borrow a bike and just have fun around the great place and water views. You even walk or bike and get to some of the other great restaurants around the area. This is one of the hotels in Canberra, Australia I promised my wife and family that we could visit again in the future when we get the chance.

Fabulously expensive smorgasbord
Rooms lovely, design superlative. Quiet.

We attended the FINA Conference and found the accomodation and facilities most pleasing. A highlight of our stay was the wait service in dining especially Stewart in his manners and diligence in his duties most excellent - great place and great job Stewart - Noel Thompson Principal/Director First National Browns Plains Qld.

Attended a wedding in the Federation ballroom. Nicely decorated and well managed hotel
T. O.
Great hotel with beautiful gardens and courtyards. Perfect Canberra experience.
E. K.
Beautiful room, bathroom was modern and comfortable. Pool was good, gym facilities also available. Nice 4 day stay.
M. E.
Staff very friendly. Beautiful rooms
J. E.
Sophisticated hotel with a homely feel. Amazing large room with a courtyard, luxurious bathroom, friendly check-in staff. The Hotel even recognised by husband’s birthday with a complimentary bottle of wine & chocolate. Perfect 3 night stay!
D. M.
I went for morning tea to celebrate friends birthdays. The place was lovely and inviting. The food and drinks were well priced for an establishment like this. However, I thought that there was not a great deal to choose from for a morning tea. I had scoones and tea. 3 scoones were nice but I think that 2 would have been enough.
K. L.
The hotel is 5 star, rooms so quiet with whisper quiet air con. Staff friendly and top quality meals. Only 5 minutes drive to all the main sights of Canberra. Liked the free bicycles, such an easy city to cycle around all so flat.
T. R.
My stay was most pleasant. The food was great, and the servvi was impeccable. I would particularly like to thank Stewart the waiter in the breakfast area, and Eliza in the main hall.💃🕺👌

We checked in at night time around 10pm. Ambiance is very lonely, just like in horror films. (Hoping atleast more lights are turned on)..No attendant available, we need to ring the bell. All amenities are not available at night, especially the food. So better bring your own or order thru Uber. Not so accomodating. This hotel is better for office workers, rather than family esp. with kids. We tried to take a shower, and we heard a loud banging on the wall from the other room(are the walls made of thin wood?), we just ignored it and turned off the shower. Then we went down to grab our food from Uber, just before we get our food an attendant meet us and informed us that the person from another room complain about our child and noise from the bath. Sorry, but our child is only 3. And we're not shouting. So maybe, the person from the other room is trying to sleep, so we need to adjust for them. We're also guest I think, and we we're asked to relocate. So, expect if you arrive at night and with a kid, you rest might delay for another 2-3 hrs.

The staff and service at the Hyatt in Canberra are amazing.
Stewart at breakfast was one off the nicest gentlemen you could ever meet.
All the staff are brilliant.
I have never enjoyed a stay as much as i did in the Hyatt Canberra.
Thankyou
W. W.
Still 5 star no longer 5.5 star. Very loud music from ballroom functions with no concern for house guests.
After a call to management they offered a room change and had music adjusted, what more could you ask.
Had a room service dinner last night, good quality food but both main meals very salty.
Been coming here for around 25 years and it is still the best.
J. S.
A beautiful venue with fabulous decor and lovely staff. The High tea though was not value for money, poor quality food with little choice.Required lazy Sunday High tea in a lovely setting which was made disappointing by poor quality food and cleaning being carried out next to our table ( vacuuming) before we had finished.
D. P.
Always love The Hyatt.
Art Deco ambience in a location unlike any other in Canberra. Great service , beautiful food. The Tea lounge is a much nicer setting than the dining space . My go to for a special treat.
V. T.
Definitely the most luxurious hotel in Canberra. I love coming here for a long weekend. The restaurant buffet is INCREDIBLE for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff are very kind and accommodating. The rooms are mid-century modern and all amenities within the hotel are incredible! The surrounding scenery is great, with Lake Burley Griffin, Lennox Gardens and the Beijing Gardens across the road. Would definitely recommend going for a bike ride around the lake.
A. B.
The hotel is a classic beauty maintained perfectly. Unfortunately the Speakers Corner bar is not open on Monday. Walking distance to many sights, too. Popular with many Australians who come to Canberra often
L. W.
Hyatt Hotel is a very eloquent place. Staff were polite and interactive. The restaurant there serves excellent high tea during the day. There is a bountiful variety to choose from such as savoury pastries and scones. Complimentary drinks were of good quality and taste. The atmosphere is warm and relaxing.
M. C.
Fair updated review from the one previously shared . As we are now checking out it is logic to increase the rating to 4 stars . The staff worked are to address the Litle issues so thank you. The services is OK given 2020 years . What is missing to 5 start , no spa , however the pool sauna is good , missing on a spa treatment room . Car park fees $25,
....I am not sure this should be charge given the low occupancy and how safe it is . Maybe the management should reflect on it . Overall we will be back again , the staff is great , all is safe , great hotel , we got chocolat and petal roses for our 10 year wedding anniversary, we where even able the do some celebrity spotting as we walk pass Nicole Kidman and her familly, as we where heading to the lobby . If they stay at the Hyatt too It goes to shows how safe , peaceful, professional and historical this hotel is . Thank you Hyatt staff !! Mrs & Mr CAM
A. G.
What can I say! Absolutely amazing service, the rooms are always perfectly clean and I love how I can check-in super late. The staff are super kind and do anything they can to make my stay welcome. When ever I'm flying to Canberra, this is my only and go to hotel I stay at.
The bar and two restaurants inside are also great! Really good food and open late which is perfect for me!
S. C.
It was lovely though we booked ahead for our honeymoon and thought we had booked a 20s hotel room - we were put out the back in a room looking over a plant-free courtyard. Such a disappointment. Staff in the restaurant were amazing.
M. D.
Sensational. Very nice rooms with plenty of space. Bathrooms a highlight with very large mirrors. Hotel facilities were first rate as were the many quiet meeting areas scattered around the premises. Service was friendly and fast. Even the restaurant is great... There's not much to dislike here.
G. B.
Many thanks and congratulations to the Hyatt Canberra staff for their wonderful service and a fabulous Christmas lunch in the Promenade Cafe on Christmas Day 2020. In particular I'd like to thank the staff for the care and attention they gave to one of our family members who has special dietary requirements....nothing was too much trouble for them and we appreciated their diligent care.
A. S.
Came for the high tea for my mum's birthday. Nice selections of sweet and savory buffet. Staffs are very friendly & attentive. Helen helped us through the booking & gave my mum a complimentary sliced cake with a candle on top. Nice touch. Surely will be back for special ocassions.
J. P.
An outstanding blend of federation design with modern day requirements. This is a white glove service hotel who strive to make you feel every bit the guest and not just an in and out customer. While it is on the pricier side for food and beverage, this is standard for this range of hotel. The rooms are large and superb, the staff so pleasant and welcoming with plenty of facilities to be enjoyed.
C. W.
$70 per person for an all-you-can-eat buffet, plus tea and coffee and a glass of rose. Excellent service, staff was friendly and attentive. Food was decent, but can improve on the variety. I enjoyed the savoury food more than the dessert. Lovely atmosphere with live music (the pianist was very friendly and chatty). Overall it's an enjoyable experience.
G. M.
Vimal, the absolutely lovely Indian gentleman working behind the bar in the Speakers corner bar, goes above and beyond to create the very best in hospitality, the Hyatt hotel should be very proud to have Vimal as one of their staff members. He really is a true gem that represents the Hyatt brand to the very highest level.
J.
We received exceptional services at the hotel. First the bed arrangements was incorrectly submit by the agent, but the staff has been helpful to rearrange another room for us. Unfortunately the room not clean due to some unforeseen circumstances. The staff has helped us yet again with another room. This has left a wonderful expression in us and will definitely recommend others to stay in the future
Y. L.
Went for high tea. Service was pleasant and professional. The food was very nice with a good range of savoury offerings. The desserts were excellent, but some were very sweet. The buffet style worked well, however it does encourage over eating and food wastage which is always on the back of my mind when attending all you can eat places and seeing many overweight people in the room who are consuming more than they should
M. M.
We took my wife too high tea for her birthday. We had a very pleasant experience the staff was wonderful and the food was delicious. We wish it had more savoury choices but the sweets were delicious.
I. M.
Personally i would prefer a more savoury variety for afternoon tea. I find there is far too many sweet things. Also I did not think the service was as good as it was a few years ago
N. M.
My experience here was great! It was my first time staying at a Hyatt and I was impressed. The marble floors were beautiful and like mirrors, they were so clean. The concierge service was excellent. The pool, spa and sauna room was a bit of a walk away; across the parking lot, but they were very nicely arranged and clean. In the evening we treated ourselves to the seafood buffet in the hotel. It was truly amazing. The pile of food that was in the buffet was fabulous and to top it off, a massive dessert spread was across the room just waiting for you. In the hotel room, the bathroom ta ceiling to floor marble. Just beautiful.
B. H.
We visited the Hyatt Hotel for the seafood buffet during the evening. The staff were very polite and it was a very high class place. I must say the staff were trained very well and everything was maintained at a very high level. The food was great and really fresh especially the seafood! The deserts were also really good however I must say that with their considerable charge, we were disappointed that there were only a limited amount of food. However this trade off was justified since the range of foods offered were very well maintained and tasted great.
J. O.
High Tea is a real treat. The food is amazing. So beautifully presented and delicious. It is a once a year decadent outing for my family, but it's worth it. Service is fantastic as well.
C. S.
Lovely clean spacious room. Well appointed with quality bathroom accessories. The room has digital controlled climate control, many power points, fridge, stocked refreshments, table for working and comfortable bed. The hot water in the shower was at a great pressure. Overall a spacious room. The service from all staff was first class and attentive. We utilised the speakers bar were service was quality and a roaring matched this off perfectly. Will definitely stay again.

The Hyatt is a world class beautiful hotel with new features and friendly, helpful staff. The restaurant is comfortable and service is as you would expect in a 5 star hotel. Outstanding pool and gym area. Highly recommend Hyatt to all.
C. P.
The Hyatt is a beautiful hotel with its mixture of old and new features and friendly, helpful staff. The bars and restaurants are comfortable and cozy and service is as you would expect in a 5 star hotel. All the meals we had were excellent. Highly recommended
P.
Nice hotel with bargain price because of pandemic. If you go Canberra, I would definitely recommend Park Hyatt at this price. Free evening parking available at the back of the hotel. Service is excellent and room is perfect.
D. S.
Had an amazing high tea here with the most exceptional food! High recommend holding your events here if the budget allows.
Also enjoyed a wonderful buffet breakfast here with a work team - the usual amazing standard of a five star hotel buffet, with the additional yummies of many great pastries.
Staff are very helpful and the pageboys have great outfits :)
A. R.
We loved it so much we got married here!!Refined art deco elegance. The staff were friendly, warm and professional. The hotel lobby, bar and lounge areas were so relaxing and luxurious. Our room was very spacious ... it was the size of a suite really - with garden views, was so quiet and had all the luxuries you would expect from a 5 star property. Full of old world charm with every modern convenience. The grounds and gardens were superb. A perfect short getaway from Melbourne.
P. C.
The Hyatt has everything going for it, a luxury hotel that feels boutique and homely at the same time. The rooms are spacious, the staff friendly, the location strategic and food delicious. Every reason to keep returning. Perhaps the only improvement suggestion I can provide is that it needs a ramp at the front to have a way around the stairs. It was painful to see an old lady struggling up the stairs with her wheelchair waiting at the top.
m.
Fantastic hotel and amazing restaurant.
A. W.
Overall pleasant experience. Stayed at a disabled room on ground floor. Rooms were clean. Convenient parking at the back. Pool and gym facilities located outside of the main hotel building which would be inconvenient to get to if it was raining. Didn't have much interactions with staff, but can't complain about service. Beautiful dining settings near the lobby.
T. C.
Beers in the garden on a warm sunny day is really great. But being a 5 star hotel it isn't a cheap place to go. There are lots of people in suits, (or corporate business attire) as guests, so if that isn't your dress code, then this probably isn't the place for you.
C. R.
Disappointing value for money. Very expensive carpets throughout and marble bathrooms. But a doona on the bed in summer? I don't think so. Worse, the doona cover slot end was tucked under the base of the mattress, so the bed had to be unmade to fix it. They provide a blanket, but not a sheet. The aircon is a force, but with a door that opens to the outside, it's second-best, imho. Stay elsewhere, I reckon.
R. M.
The Hyatt Hotel Canberra is an amazing hotel with excellent service. The kitchen was exceptional especially the breakfast had everything you ask for. The staff very friendly and professional. Our room was big and very clean. The clubhouse has a spa area which we really enjoyed with our toddler. Looking forward to staying at Hyatt Canberra again.

Exceptional service in the Promenade by Stewart. Food was amazing, service was on point. Seafood share tower and share steak was a highlight. Room was spacious and very well appointed. The overall feeling of this place is elevated by the stunning art deco decor. We just loved it and enjoyed our 5 star experience.
S. P.
We had a lovely stay. The service was outstanding, from the reception to the breakfast team. We especially appreciated Stewart and Ranjana that really stood out with their warm hospitality!
S. P.
Stayed in the MacArthur suite after getting a free upgrade. The suite was easily worthy of a 5 star review in itself.
The bar in the hotel was fantastic and the drinks were fast and flowing.
The staff were all polite, friendly and quick to offer assistance at all times.
G. P.
Located close to both the old and new parliament houses. The rooms are of good size and high standards. Staff are friendly, courteous and professional. The older original part of the hotel is a wonderful example of architecture from it's period and is a delight to the eye whilst the newer wings compliment the old but with a modern luxurious feel.
S. F.
Service not that great for High Tea, especially post lockdown
M. E.
The restaurant is in a lovely building. Food options were decent, salad choice being the highlight! However, a few extra hot dishes would have been appreciated, as well as a choice of fresh roast meat besides pork. All in all, a pleasant night out and would happily visit again.
T. J.
best hotel i have ever gone to
S. K.
One of the oldest hotels in Canberra. Classy and luxury. All the 5 star facilities are available here. Not a modern hotel but luxurious old architecture. Definitely expensive. Food is good. There's no high rise or multi storey building but the property spread across good area and rooms are large with big washrooms. Pool, gym, jacuzzi, spa, massage are part of the facilities available here.
F. F.
I've had the pleasure of staying in this Hotel many times and enjoyed it immensely. The menu is extremely exciting and flexible, service is great and overall I look forward to visiting each year. The rooms are top notch and I particularly enjoy the rooms overlooking the courtyard.
T. E.
Nice historic hotel. The check in process is simple and the staff are friendly and helpful.
The room it self is quite large and we'll appointed in the art deco theme, aside from the desk lamp that does not match anything else.
The only problem is the air-conditioning whistles when it is on, and in 40 degree heat that is a lot.
I. M.
Tried the Friday night buffet. Talked up by lots of people. It was just okay. Food was fresh and tasty and plentiful. Staff were plentiful, about one per diner. All food was easy to access. Nothing that was unusual as far as taste goes.
Very few people dining. Despite that we were seated next to two other guests who were talking loudly. So easy to have seated us away from other guests for our mutual comfort.
On top of this was some of the worst background music that I have encountered in a restaurant. The sound level was excessive. All this before the staff started to undress the tables ready for breakfast at about 1930. The clatter of plates was reminiscent of a railway refreshment room. Oh, and I didn't mention the waitress leaning across from the left of me to pour a glass of water.
Hyatt Buffet - yeah nah. Been there, done that. Much better options available on a Friday night in Canberra.
A. V. E.
One of the best hotels in the region. Great atmosphere with nice and competent staffs. Never disappointed with meals here.
Of course, rooms are always in an excellent condition lovely to rest in, especially when having a cup of Nespresso to relax at the end of the day.

I love this hotel - we’ve stayed here a few times now and every time is better than the last. It feels like an old fashioned hotel with a 1940s charm about it. The staff are absolutely fantastic! Definitely different to the other hotels in Canberra. There’s a buzz about this place. Every time we’ve been here there’s an elegant group of internationals dressed in bow ties poncing off to some swanky event, the piano being played for the high tea, the tea area is in fact just stunning so beautiful to catch some afternoon sun after a busy day.
We love it here that’s why we keep coming back.
I’ve stayed at other great hotels here which I. Comparison are alittle more sleek and modern. Such as the The Realm, this is the total opposite to that it’s more traditional.
This time we stayed on level 3 and got a room which had doors that opened up overlooking the pool house. Clean, well equipped with great ammenities such as;
- good bathroom mirror for makeup
- magnifying mirror included or I think they call it a shaving mirror.
- full length mirror for dressing
- espresso coffee machine
- free internet
- swiveling tv
- comfy bed
Oh and we tried the seafood buffet - standard price of $79 per person which I know is steep!
But - it’s definitely better than any other buffet I’ve tried notable the Sheraton on The Park in Sydney which is absolutely disgusting!
I’ll try and add some photos.
N. L.
All was well until they charged us additionally for a third person (a child 10 years old) at check out! We had prepaid online.
Majestic rooms with premium toiletries offered. The bathtub 🛀is a must use. Make time for a warm bath.
The breakfast 🍳 options were tremendous. Omelets, Bacon 🥓, waffles 🧇, fruit 🍎. Everything to make an American 🇺🇸 girl Tummy feel Yummy.
This hotel was chosen as our night stop for a Melbourne to Sydney long and occasionally scenic drive. We picked it due to name brand familiarity.
A. K.
We had the club ambassador lounge deal.
We have stayed here many times and been very happy prior to this visit.
This time we got up to the club ambassador lounge, best seats were booked (and the whole 2 hours remained unused), therefore limited seating. By the time we got to dessert there was hardly anything left.
Crying baby in ambassador lounge.
The worst experience we have ever had here.
Very disappointing. Service was awful.
G. S.
Beautiful spaces, friendly and helpful staff!
f. m.
Went to the restaurant for breakfast on Saturday morning. Was a great selection and variety of food. Food was delicious and nicely presented. Went with a 1 year old and was plenty of options for kids too as well as high chair and kid friendly utensils. Will go again! Thanks
I. T.
High tea is always tasty, and decor is beautiful and classic. The high tea is however on the expensive side and while the savouries are delicious, the sweets are a little less exciting. They all taste nice but pretty similar. Nonetheless, a great venue for a special event. Have also attended professional events and functions here and all have been excellent.
J. G.
Wow, fabulous work from everyone, amazing hotel, super friendly staff and service. Room was great and big and clean, amazing location close to all the local attractions, a quick drive or walk over the bridge to the main street of Canberra. The restaurant in the hotel is also a great place to have dinner. Breakfast was also great. Nice place to sit and have a few beers in the courtyard.
B. S.
I loved the location and the fact that I was returning to a familiar place as I am a Hyatt loyalty member. However I did not like the long walks from the reception to the room. Car parking is a bit of a pain. The hotel building is old and it does show. Ground floor rooms should be avoided. Make sure your room phone works.
H. S.
Very beautiful hotel and good size rooms. Air conditioning was a bit noisy and could not open a window to cool the room naturally. Were disappointed with the food at high tea buffet. But Canberra has so many choices for good food.
A.
We had high tea, the food was delicious. However there was a 45 minute wait for our tea and only one free champagne. At 62 per person I would expect more than that. Piano was too far away and couldn't hear properly. It also wasnt decorated that nicely, we had to bring in our own flowers and vases.
V. U.
A beautiful Hotel set in a great location. The entrance is grand with a lovely layout. The room I stayed was simple and nice with all the 5 star necessities included . Buffett Breakfast was what you would expect from a 5 star Hotel nothing less. The parking costs an extra $25.00 which is a bummer you can park at the front of the Hotel however it is metered during peak hours. This Hotel is on the high end that's what you would expect from a 5 start Hotel.
L.
Infallible. Not a single bad word to say about this hotel. Had an absolutely wonderful stay here and cannot wait to stay again soon. 10/10.

We attended a birthday party hosted by a friend at the Hyatt hotel Canberra. Room was of decent size, Service was great. Food was good but a bit salty. Overall a great experience. Highly recommended Hyatt for hosting any events.
H. L.
A nice place with great location and historic tradition. But I give them 3 stars because of their awkward billing process. On check out, they charged me only for the room and later for breakfast separately without notice. I found it after coming back to my country and had to ask Hyatt what that unexpected additional charge was for. My stay there had a slightly unpleasant aftertaste.

We spent 3 lovely days celebrating our 49th anniversary in a fantastic hotel. Our reception here, in 1969 was also great. The staff, so friendly, must be the best on this planet. Well done Hyatt. We'll be back.
G. H.
You can feel the history oozing from the walls and floors of this spectacularly renovated, opulent, hotel brought back to it's original state. Everything feels 5 star. The food is to die for. SPECIAL THANKS TO SIRAJ who went the extra mile to ensure our stay was one we would never forget. Close to everything in Canberra's Capitol Hill area. WOW!!!
E. H.
I love the art deco interior. We got married here several years ago so we like to go here for coffee to celebrate special occasions. At around $6 for a coffee it's a bit more expensive than the usual cafe but imho the best coffee in Canberra and unbeatable environment. The staff are always terrific, and usually can find a table for us if we rock up out of the blue. Just be careful though, as at times they can be popular, especially during high tea.
A. N.
This hotel boasts lovely decor, but it is aging in areas which needs a face lift like bathrooms. During colder months, it can be hard pressed to have to walk outside to the club house where the gym, pool and sauna reside. Some cleaning in the club house shower facilities couldn't go amiss either. Overall great stay though.
W. S.
It was a perfect high tea experience the food was tasty and the staff members were incredible.
A. F.
Went to a wonderful wedding ceremony and reception at the Hyatt. The hotel was fantastic, providing us with everything we needed for the evening. The staff were professional and always nearby if we needed anything. Overall it was an excellent evening and we will look forward to our next visit to the Hyatt.
M. A.
Beautiful hotel in a peaceful and central location to all sites. Room was clean as expected with a massive bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Unfortunately we had no time to eat there as there were so many cafe and restaurant choices in Canberra. Would stay again.
R. D.
It is such a beautiful place. The room is spacious, bathroom is beautiful and fairly new, bed is comfy. Only thing i don't like or a common problem of an old hotel which is the aircon. You can't open the window so no freah air. Room is very dry and too hot.
L. N.
Well looked after, had zucchini flower dish as a main...very tasty. Good wine and nice atmosphere.
A. D.
Fantastic hotel. They have an amazing restaurant and even do high tea on weekends. The rooms are extremely comfortable and well appointed. I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud and didn't want for anything during my stay.
P.
A beautiful, classy hotel. The buffet was divine, especially the seafood. The morning and afternoon teas looked delicious too. The buffet dessert bar had a large variety of bite sized desserts, so you could try a few.
j. m.
what a delight to stay in such beautiful historic building, although our room was a little bit tired and was in need of a bit of a revamp the wonderful service more than made up for it. I highly recommend staying here we will be back!
T. J.
Beautifully presented hotel and rooms...awesome cafe for coffee and breakfast...loved the spaciousness of the hotel room....great hotel service! We definitely stay again.
A.
Went there to celebrate Valentine's Day with my husband Dr. Adhiraj Chakrabarty, very nice ambience with excellent food and coordial staffs. Will like to visit there again.
G. N.
The Hyatt is lovely, however it has certainly gone down quite a few notches since it opened in the 1980's There is no real fine dining anymore, and the banquets are nice, but not really spectacular like they used to be. Don't get me wrong - still extremely nice, but just not what it used to be.

Quite pleasant. Operations have obviously been affected by COVID-19 and this is reflected in the limited options available in the Promenade Café. Staff were cheerful and professional.
L. V.
Outstanding High Tea & great service
P. L.
Went for the seafood buffet on a Friday evening.
Nice selection of seafood. The crab was fresh, cooked just right. Prawns were decent size and tasty. Hot dishes were more limited. Deserts were good. The Movenpick chocolate ice cream was excellent.
Price wise, at $78 per person it could get quickly expensive for groups of 4 or more.
Friendly staff and cosy atmosphere.
V. M.
A very elegant 5 star hotel, fascinating architecture, a Def visit even if not staying there. Staff is super helpful and always glad to help out. Very close to everything also, a really nice place overall. Has easy valet parking overnight at 35 dollars. Very kid friendly also. Will definately recommend if asked where to stay in Canberra.
P. L.
The AC compressor was audible throughout the night and turned on and off and was really annoying. We got the cheapest room but for $300+ you don't expect that.
B. C.
Good high tea experience for the family in a classically designed and decorated setting. Food and drink high standard as one would expect but not truly outstanding. However great service and atmosphere complete with piano accompaniment!
P. H.
We visited for high tea and to celebrate my little ones first birthday.
Slow service initially but once someone finally acknowledged we were there, the service was consistent and pleasant.
Great range of food, desserts and teas.
G. S.
My review will mostly target Hyatt's facilities like lounge tea room and restaurant as I've never needed a hotel in Canberra and can't comment on rooms and service.
I've been to the tea room and restaurant many time and always live it. It's a preferred place to go to with my girlfriends. When we think we would like to try some new place and can choose one which satisfies all we all agree to again go to Hyatt.
There's lovely atmosphere where you can relax, have a nice glass of wine and not prohibited for having a good laugh with girls.
We tried high tea, seafood buffet, and tried a la cart menu at tea lounge; we also went to have Xmas breakfast with work colleagues. Hyatt never disappoint! The food and wine are pricey but you also pay for atmosphere and service and variety so it's worth the price.

I wanted to give 4.5 stars.
First the down sides:
- no disabled access at the front entrance (even a ramp at the side would be acceptable) - you had to go around the back. Which is closer to the lifts - well done them for retrofitting lifts into a 100 year old building :)
- the room ("King") was not _quite_ to the level of "bling" I was lead to expect from a "5 star hotel". It was very nice - so "4 star" - but not quite the level of decadence I was expecting ;)
Enough of that.
The pluses - there are so many!
The staff are *awesome*! They are efficient, courteous, and nothing is "too much trouble". If they can do something - even if it's not their 'job' - they do it. They took ownership of the 'problem'. If they couldn't do the task, they found someone who could. And then checked back later to see if everything was ok. Again, "ownership".
The food was great. Well done Chef(s)!
The place was spotlessly clean. Not only in the rooms, but the common areas as well. Although, I didn't spend much time outside, so I can't comment on the gardens :)
Again, 4.5 stars. This is a great place to stay.
C. C.
Nice hotel, Great facilities, the pool and gym are sizeable and well equipped, beds are very comfy so a good choice for work trips. Rooms are a bit tired and could do with a freshen up but the bathrooms very grand with full range of lovely toiletries etc. service was excellent. Locations a bit out of the way but everything's just only a 25 minute walk away. The restaurants/room service is very expensive but all in all I'll stay there for work just for the fitness centre.
R. C.
Visited for Christmas buffet lunch, it was fantastic. It was our first family Christmas that we didn't cook for, so we were worried that it wouldn't be the same. The food was amazing, and still very much our Christmas. We would consider doing this again.
M.
Large bathrooms and rooms. Comfortable beds. Service on arrival was great. The hotel does shows its age. That room / bathrooms do have a smell (musty) that is inline with older hotels. Room service food was great, but they did mix up the order (ordered a bottle of wine, received a glass). Will see what else is available in Canberra before booking the Hyatt again.
Y. L.
Large comfortable rooms, stones throw from Parliament house. High tea, great breakfast and dinner menus
M. R.
Update Feb-2018: moved from 5 stars to 4. The hotel all but shuts down for an event and hotel guests become second class. There was Qatar Air event and the hotel service disappeared. It would have been nice to be notified of the event in advance but none of the staff provided that accommodation. There was no parking available and movement through the hotel was restricted.
***
Beautiful, elegant hotel with large rooms that are quiet and well appointed. My bathroom was twice a large as the one in my room at the Sydney Marriott. Staff is helpful and professional. Ample onsite parking is available. I will continue to stay here on my visits to Canberra.
C.
As someone who travels for work a lot, you soon build a mental list of preferences in accommodation. This is my preferred hotel in Canberra, top 3 in the country. Staff are excellent, rooms are spacious and modern, facilities great so i never need to leave in the evening and never had an average meal in the restaurant or room service.
L. P.
I was there to photograph a wedding bridal party getting ready, so I wasn't a paying guest.
I was waiting in the lobby for a few hours because the bride didn't want pre dress photos and the concierge made sure I was ok and gave me a bottle of water, even though my client was the guest and I was just a visiting worker.
The staff there was excellent and I appreciate the care, understanding and help the Hotel afforded someone like me.
T. V.
lovely hotel from an era of elegance but updated in a sympathetic manner. Set in the older part of Canberra it must have been in the past the haunt of politicians and statesmen and women a d to an extent it still us if you can corral today's present incumbents of such posts with the epithet.
Roo.s are modern a d clean. The gym a d pool excellent while the tea room is the place for conspiring by the looks of those present. Enjoyable hotel with nice staff and elegant plus-foured concierge!
D. F.
Very nice hotel in Canberra. The room and the bathroom were quite large and nice. The breakfast was good with ample selection. The staff friendly and helpful. The hotel gym and pool with adjacent sauna were ideal to get some exercise in the early morning. The gym has even a heavy bag and boxing gloves. Recommended.
A. R. (.
Love the place. Old but posh.

Very homely ,sophisticated, 5 star hotel with all the trimmings.
Extremely friendly and attentive staff who from the front desk to the restaurant staff will go out of their way to assist you.
The meals especially the comprehensive breakfast are first class and cannot help but leave you in a positive mind frame.
Close to all the attractions with plenty of parking.
Highly recommended.
G. “. P.
A really fantastic place to go for business or pleasure, with friendly staff and well-appointed amenities and a great layout. Also, the coffee I ordered yesterday was perhaps the best coffee I've ever had... There's no short-cuts on any aspect of the experience.
P.
Huge shower area with generous bathtub. Lots of light in the room means working is practical. Very friendly staff. Bigger room than similar properties in Canberra CBD. Definitely business friendly. The fireplace bar is a nice place to unwind at the end of the day.
A.
Beautiful afternoon spent at the Hyatt Canberra. High tea was well catered and a great option for something special and a little out of the ordinary. Staff were friendly and attentive and the setting is hard to beat on a warm afternoon.
K. L.
Stunning facilities and impeccable service every time. Located conveniently close to the lake, Nara peace park and of course the parliamentary triangle. The absolute best breakfast buffet you can imagine and beautifully furnished rooms. This is a heritage art deco hotel worthy of conservation.
A. G. U.
Unforgettable experience. As expected from Hyatt but with a very unique and exquisite Australian taste. Highly recommend you to visit. If not stay, at least enjoy great food from breakfast to dinner and of course must have a drink at the bar and where former PM Bob Hawk's was fond of.
R. T.
Received a two tier upgrade to a themed suite despite being an ordinary base level Hyatt member. Thank you.
The club lounge serves good food at happy hour but can be overcrowded. You make your own coffee rather than being served as in some upscale hotel.
Overall the only hotel I will stay at in Canberra.
r. c.
Had a great anniversary time over here in hyatt with my wife and my little son....gave it a 4 star because balcony wasn't what I expected ...it was super old balcony with no view at all...... I stayed at room 230 I.e king room with balcony and did expect better than what I got..anyways service was great at dinner with friendly hotel staffs and great food with beautiful garden area.... but breakfast was just ok because food was great but got a really unfriendly gesture right at the start and felt little disappointed ...I don't remember her name it was something like phildem..but yes got a really bad vibes from her ...really very bad....but rest were great and friendly and had a good breakfast after all.... overall great place with awesome heated swimming pool which was amazing ...felt cozy.....good experience overall....
T. M.
Stayed here for a birthday celebration and we weren't disappointed. Rooms and facilities were of a very high standard. Great price for the luxury. I would saty thatbeing in the Canberra Circit is a little isolatting as it can be a good walk to the nearest food area outside of the Hotel.
B. K.
Unique experience, staying at this hotel. Rich with history. Just a walk away from great photo sites like the parliament and museum. The staff were so friendly and welcoming.
M. A.
A bit of a rabbit warren but a classy one at that. The buffet breakfast is amazing and every catered event has been delicious.
I have never stayed here but I have heard it is very comfortable and clean.
It is a Canberra landmark and has been well maintained over the years.
As I understand, but you should check, they have halal food available as they frequently host foreign dignitaries who stay in Canberra.
Parking is free but hard to get sometimes when there are major or several events on. However you can always find parking on the street as well.
S. Z.
The blandly-modern outside is deceptive, inside this hotel is a stylish art-deco theme with 1920's style furnishings and features in evidence. The rooms are pleasantly large and quiet and the staff attentive and helpful.
The spa and fitness centre on-site is reasonable, and the high teas and breakfasts very good. Worth the trip out!
T. M.
We had a couple of nights at the Canberra Hyatt to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it was fantastic, as always. We checked in to be greeted with a much appreciated upgrade to a beautiful balcony room. Staff very helpful and considerate. The hotel is well located in the Parliamentary area and easy walking to those sites.
M.
A fabulous place to stay.
This beautiful hotel ticks all the boxes and for me is the ONLY place to stay when in Canberra.
Great rooms, an outstanding restaurant and very friendly staff make this hotel a cut above the rest.
K. K.
The Hyatt Hotel has amazing staff who work hard to keep their guests happy. They are friendly and helpful, which is amazing. The rooms are immaculate and it's located near parliament house so it's easy to get back to if you're not sure of your navigational skills. I would recommend it to anyone who is traveling to Canberra.
M. J.
I spent a day at the Hyatt Canberra for a professional conference. The venue was lovely and the catering delicious. Walking past the dining area and seeing the buffet breakfast on the way in made me wish I were a guest there!
D.
One of the better hotels in Canberra and it is very close to the Parliament House. Step out of the hotel you can see the Parliament House immediately. It is also next to the lake which has good view. The hotel has reasonable rates and service is very good. Breakfast has many food selection. The room is clear and nice too. The onsite parking is also a bonus.
B. K.
Great place for high tea
S. P.
Fantastic service!!! The culinary director was very helpful ... Prompt and went out of the way to help us with our stay... The chef went out of the way to get some veg options for our family... Very rare when the head chef comes over and helps you with veg options !!:-) really appreciate the service!! Highly recommend it

Stayed at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra from hearing recommendations. The hotel grounds and public areas are lovely - especially the afternoon tea area. But the King room wasn't quite up to scratch, for a top notch hotel, charging $300+/night.
The desk/furniture was chipped, carpet dated and old, and no USB chargers in the room. The bathrooms are also dated - to the point where the marble floor tiles are being stained and rusting. Not a good look for when you're in the shower to have rusting areas near your feet. Also, underground parking is an additional $25/day.
Good points - the location is great, and very peaceful. The shower head and water pressure is great, and the staff are all very helpful and enthusiastic. Nice shampoo/conditioner.
I understand this is an older luxe historic hotel, but for the prices being charged - the rooms should definitely be updated and brought to what is expected from a Hyatt luxe hotel.
If you like the historic hotels, and don't mind a slightly dilapidated splendour - this hotel may be for you.
J. M.
Wonderful staff very affordable to chat and good service throughout the premises. Spectacular location and sorroundings. Just a little thing to complaint: The maid was upset to do her duties and we're shocking to discover that attitude. Very unpleasent... Apart from this 'incidental' we believe there are reasons to come back because all the other staff ARE GREAT 🤗
T. M.
I stayed at the Hyatt in Canberra with my wife for a conference and found it an excellent place to stay. The suite itself was magnificent and included was free nightly access to the Ambassadors lounge for drinks and canapés and a buffet breakfast the morning of the wedding. Staff were attentive and well informed.
P. B.
My partner and I married at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra recently. From early discussions through to post-wedding high tea, the Hyatt staff were most helpful, accommodating, adaptive and an all round pleasure to deal with. We stayed in one of the diplomatic suites and it too was perfect in every way - elegant, refined, spacious, and luxurious.
High tea here is a Canberra institution and a must-do. A little something special for everyone.
History buffs will love the story of the hotel, while its location in the Parliamentary Triangle make it an ideal launching pad for any visitors not wanting to be too far from Canberra's national landmarks.
D. H.
Like being in an old James Bond movie but with WiFi.
C. N.
Visited for a high tea. Small range of food but all of it was amazing including chorizo sausage rolls, mini salmon brioche buns and many more. Also included a selection of various desserts and teas. Would recommend
P. M.
Went for a lunch event in the lounge area. Was exceptional service and food. Deserts very good and they always make coffee hodvi like it (clean black taste, none of that hipster fruity blend stuff).

Congratulations on your courage hosting the Christian conference. Christians love the gay community and do not hate them. We simply have different opinions. Respectfully. The hotel is fabulous also and I loved my stay there.

Perfect location. Perfect place to stay if u want to visit parliament house or lake burley graffin. Classic 5 star hotel. Club king room is old but clean and comfortable. Parking is 25 dollars per day. Breakfast buffet and dinner buffet are standard. Definitely the place I will stay again I visit Canberra in the future.
S. C.
Nice venue for a conference. Plenty of parking (although I arrived early) at $13 per day. My mate forgot to pay and got a $113 yellow ticket on his windshield instead. Lunch served wasn't amazing; but nice.
D. S.
This was my second time here for business and the place was great! Actually it was better then my fist time, better serve. Room was much larger with a great view, very clean which is a must. Happy customer.

While there is no doubt that she is a grand old lady there is some question as to her level of luxury. She needs investment of both money and employee's to get her back on t he top shelf. I love this spot and I am a regular here for tea, however, I would dearly love to see some money spent on a revamp .... soon.
I. H.
A grand old girl. Time for a refurb but still comfortable. Hard to find an Aussie native English speaker but once over the translation issues they are very nice and helpful. Would stay again. Parking situation at the hotel is quite bazaar with the ACT government owning all the parking around the hotel and charging on an hourly basis. What a rip-off. Opportunism at its worst.
L. B.
Hotel with significant history tied to it. Beautiful interior. You can give the food a miss. Better variety food and value for money @local restaurants.

It's just a beautiful hotel. Classic. Elegant. Excellent service

S. L.
A good hotel located near Parliament House. A long-time favourite, the rooms are comfortable but old. Service was generally poor except for the ever-vigilant and friendly concierge team.

OMG! posh! and being that it was my first high tea, I was not disappointed. At $65 per person I thought it was priced reasonably well.
There was a small selection of savoury food, plenty of scones and a jar of mixed lollies.
The desert buffet was plentiful, mousse, creme brulee, slices with jelly on top, chocolates and tarts.
At your table was a generous amount of cream which the waiting staff kept topping up along with little jars of strawberry jam. I guess this was the only disappointment as they looked like single use only.
They also offered coffe refills which was really nice.
I would definitely recommend going if you're a sweet tooth.
M. Z.
Pics are for afternoon tea buffet. Didn't take pictures for breakfast buffet, brekkie was also good taste, but just the common stuff other hotels also have. And not as good looking as the tea snacks. U can also order omelette from chef during breakfast.
I. C.
Wonderfully helpful staff, well appointed quiet rooms. The TVs were a bit 1998 and took a long time to warm up and change channels but I don't suppose many people go to nice hotels to watch TV...
G. W.
This is a very well run Hotel. It may be because Canberra has access to a lot of smart intelligent students studying at the ANU, but I find the hotel as well as the wait Staff at the restaurant very good and very helpful. Be prepared to pay premium for this as well.
However you can go there out of parliamentary cycles and enjoy the discounts.

Sandy and I have just had a great weekend in Canberra staying at the Hyatt. The staff were magnificent !!! From Sam at the concierge and the boys, to Sarah in the lounge and the other girls, the other staff who's names I can't recall. I'm sorry that I don't remember. We thank you for a great weekend.
Pete and Sandy 378.

The hotel is pretty much a classic. The lobby is clean upon entering and staff is helpful as well! Walking around the area, everything is kept clean as well. Would totally recommend for small events in here.

My wife and I love this place its such a lovely place to spend a long weekend. Staff are lovely food is fantastic, we always have the high tea yum. Then we can walk it off around the lake highly recommend this place we can't get enough of it.
R. K.
Our room was huge and well cared for. The pool (which is over a quiet cul-de-sac, in the "club house") is immaculate, has a roped of lane for laps, a hot tub and a sauna. The bar is full of comfortable chairs and lounges, and the wasabi peas in the bar snacks will take your head off. Great staff, too.
P. D.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed a lovely glass of red (local, of course) while listening to the piano. What a lovely way to spend some time on Sunday afternoon.
T. M.
Hyatt Canberra used to be a place where the service was impeccable. On the final night of the conference there was formal dinner for 150 and started with a selection of six entrees served on platters and finished with a dessert buffet which was spectacular to look at and divine to eat. Very comfortable stay.
M.
What a wonderful experience to be engulfed in such well set up organised hotel. The staff are very friendly and very helpful! Definitely will recommend this place and definitely will be coming back!
Thanks again for a wonderful weekend :)
S. L.
A good hotel located near Parliament House. A long-time favourite, the rooms are comfortable but old. Service was generally poor except for the ever-vigilant and friendly concierge team.
P. B.
The service was amazing, we went for the buffet breakfast and even though we would not normally be their clientele we were treated like royalty. Kate served us and was able to appropriately interact with the toddlers up to the grandparents
S. E.
Beautiful old place with fantastic service & helpful staff. Walls are little thin, but once I upgraded to a different pillow I slept well ! Relax at bars or in a quiite lounge with a open fire. Bell Boys were a treat.
T. M.
My heritage room in the Menzies Pavilion was beautiful with a very comfortable bed and an enormous black-and-white marble bathroom. My six year old stayed on a stretcher bed in the room and it didn't feel too cramped. You will have to run the gauntlet of curious and smartly dressed delegates in your hotel dressing gown.
J. B.
Very nicely presented hotel with friendly staff in a lovely location. Ambassador club access is worth it for breakfast and pre-dinner drinks and canapes as well as all day tea, coffee and soft drinks.
A. K.
It a wonderful hotel. Clean rooms and great service.
I tried to conserve water like they recommended but it over 5 mins for the shower to run hot water
M. G.
Great food, great atmosphere, attentive staff
H. G.
Probably the best in Canberra. Nice sized rooms, well appointed. If you need to go to Canberra, then you may as well do it in luxury. Put a bit of effort in and dress up.

I would give this place a10 star rating if I could. Lovely room, comfortable bed, great facilities and very helpful staff. Definitely coming back to stay.

Dating from the 1920s, this upscale hotel is a 7-minute walk from Canberra Nara Park and 1 km from Parliament House.
Posh rooms feature free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and sitting areas, as well as minibars, marble bathrooms, and tea and coffeemaking facilities. Upgraded rooms include espresso machines; some have balconies, and/or access to a private lounge with continental breakfast and snacks. Suites provide separate sitting areas and/or kitchenettes. Room service is available.
Parking is complimentary. Other amenities include a bar, a cafe, and afternoon tea (limited). There’s also a fitness centre, an indoor pool, a tennis court and a spa.
B. N.
An elegant hotel! Quality room & attentive service. Good standard food. We've enjoyed our stay.
W. T. S. C.
One of the best hotels in Australia. An amazing low rise and spacious hotel which exudes luxury. From the very first greeting by concierge through to the spacious rooms, this hotel is first class and I highly recommend.
J. G.
Visited the cafe after a citizenship ceremony at Albert Hall nearby. The arts and crafts decor and the old fashioned uniforms of the staff at the Hyatt makes such visits feel very special.

A fantastic feeling like you have just stepped into the 1920's or 30's. Well appointed rooms with all the mod cons. Bring a football to play touch in the over sized bathroom.
R. B.
Great hotel with extremely friendly staff. A bit on the expensive side but at least you get to see from a distance the body guards of various world leaders. Amazing bar staff especially Collie, Kristina and Stuart.
G. S.
The Promenade offers an a la carte menu and a buffet. The a la carte food is superbly prepared & presented, the only limitation is thst the meals have only small amounts of veg or salad on the side, which if you're that way inclined (like me), you need spend more on plates of sides (which are all 1 person serves). For that reason I would give it 4.5 stars if that was an option.
M. B.
The rooms at the Hyatt are immaculate and extremely comfortable. The staff are incredibly helpful, kind and professional. I would offer my highest recommendation of the Hyatt to anyone considering staying there.
D. H.
Hyatt hotel has the best customer service out of any hotel in Canberra that I have stayed at (I have stayed in almost all major hotels) They have complimentary porter's to take your luggage to your room, the room standard is very high and very clean. The only let down is no undercover parking but you can't have everything I guess.
Well done guys I will choose to stay here again
J. M. A.
Was there to get ready for a wedding and have photos there. That went great stff were fantastic. The day after me and the best man we're waiting for them ti gwt ready in one of the tea room and had some problems with staff but had it resolved.

Relaxing and love the ambiance. Disappointed that the evening buffets have not started after a year due to Covid19

Great service, comfy beds, cosy environment! Couldn’t have asked for more. It was a great stay

We had a nice High Tea there, apologies for not taking any photos but we were to busy gas bagging. It was a lovely afternoon and the service was great, as was the food.

Can't speak highly enough about customer care, attention to detail. Thoughtful and professional a unique combination. Beautiful setting. Excellent food and service. Take a bow!!!

Convienent location, not far from the CBD or cafes. The hotel is old, no parking facilities, one has to use the public parking close by. Rooms are decent sized but average in decor and amenities...

The best hotel in Canberra. Delicious food and great ambiance. Service is always excellent. Especially from Brave and the team. Always is a great place to go

Stayed in a king room with balcony. Service was lovely, bed incredibly comfortable and everything we hoped for in a staycation 🙂
D. T.
Very spacious hotel and rooms. Very clean, all maintained and professional staff. However, no food alternatives around other than the hotel restaurants / cafes.
M. P.
Absolutely beautiful, the concierge ,little man in his great outfit was THE HIGHLIGHT well mannered ,sense of humour .Food was sensational great bathroom room was ok
T. &. D.
Good food selection. The desserts were wonderful. Nice coffees, though they took a while. The piano player was very friendly.
L. M.
Attended High Tea. While the desserts were great, the savoury selection was very minimal, not of a very decent standard & some (Asian seafood panna cotta) was absolutely disgusting (5 of 5 in my group had to spit it out as soon as tasting it).
Terrible value for money at $65.
S. G.
Majestic old building. Very large rooms. Great hygiene kit in the bathroom. Super comfy beds - extremely high end. Great staff, friendly 24h service.
b. h.
Lovely building, great staff and romantic was nice and clean. Shower leaked however and needs better coffee making facilities in the room like a simple pod machine and mugs.
D. B.
Lovely stay over the Easter long weekend. Special mention to the breakfast staff (including Stewart)
B. W.
The atmosphere was great. It was easy to hear the people talking at my table. The drinks did take a to little long, with hot drinks served before the cold drinks.
S. S.
Historic hotel in Canberra. It’s not a plush Park Hyatt, it’s a little dated - but impeccably maintained, has everything you need and awesome staff!
K. K.
Came for an engagement (held in the Canberra room) and it was beautiful. The food was amazing. The bar on the other side of the hotel was nice, but way over priced.
S. B.
Beautiful grounds. Didn't enjoy the light music playing in the hallways so early on a Sunday morning. I could hear it in my room.
Very pricey...

3.5 Stars Great location, wonderful ambience, beautifully appointed rooms, attentive staff but not all on top of their game. Spotless clean.
l. n.
Tea and cake was lovely. But the service was a bit lacking at times. Waitress did not give us enough menu or proper information about the food.
D. I.
Staff are so friendly and the establishment is always clean. We go to have dinner and whether you are having A la Carte or the buffet, the food and service never disappoint.
R. L.
My wife and I stayed here last week for much needed quality time together, and were very impressed by the service, facilities and central location. My wife made special mention of how good the coffee was in the resturant!
C. O.
Beautiful art deco hotel. One of my favourite places to stay
L. S.
I liked the main hallway that went through then entire building. I felt as if I was always out in the open. The lunch I had there was wonderfully made and it was a shame I got sp full as I wasn't able to try everything on the menu.
S. P.
Whenever I stay in Canberra, this hotel is my preferred home away from home. Says it all.
A. C.
Nice relaxing atmosphere for a cup of tea. Staff service was certainly polished. Their drinks list was nice and lengthy. Would definitely visit again.
A. W.
I love this hotel but the affogato was disappointing. If the price is $20, I expect vanilla bean icecream.
C. S.
A fairly amazing building with some history and good staff. I think I deserved a little more given the Park Hyatt labelling for the building. There was a time when this was the only place to stay in Canberra; but there are many other options now.
N. H.
Great place to stay. Staff are a standout. All staff from front desk to housekeeping to restaurant were friendly and efficient. Will be coming back again
W. R.
Went to the Hyatt for High Tea to celebrate a birthday. Everything was at a very high standard. Help or assistance was never far away. Excellent service and afternoon.
T. M.
Upon arrival I thought to be in the wrong movie: People in tuxedo or even more formal dress at the entrance, holding glasses of Champagne in there hands...The staff was very friendly, check-in within seconds. The lounge provided nice …
A. S.
We had a pleasant time celebrating my parents' wedding anniversary. The staff were corteous and offered the best assistance to accomodate our requests.
F. J.
I always stay at the Hyatt when I come to Canberra. Its classical architecture, central location and excellent service always lead to a wonderful stay. Its been a while since I have been to Canberra and I am thinking of a trip just to share this experience with the love of my life. Thanks Hyatt
S. S.
Went for Melbourne cup event. Experience was okay, service could have been better, food was good, spread was very good, drinks were good, non alcoholic drink selection was very limited.
V. T.
Great hotel with great people who work there. Rooms are very spacious and the gym equipment has just been updated. I'd definitely say it is the best hotel in canberra.
T. D.
Lovely settings. Service is polite but not fast. Once a grand place with quality food and service. Now over priced for what you get.
A. G.
Perfect for a classy overnight stay. Nice pool, great views and an excellent location. Walk to lake, parliament house
A. S.
It's pretty well maintained hotel with lots of parking space around it. We stayed here for two nights over a long weekend. It's a driving distance to all the restaurants and nightlifes in Canberra. You could walk to Black Mountains and the Telstra tower but it's a fair walk round trip, 15km or so. If you search google map, it directs you to get on the main drive way, but we did go through the bushes. You can ultimately get there, just takes a bit of navigating. We encountered kangaroo along the way, hoping to see a wombat but did not get any luck.
T. Y. L.
Beautiful older hotel with lots of open green space. Excellent buffet brekkie. Rooms are large and bathrooms even bigger. Nice bath products.
K. E.
I love the beautiful rooms and the grandeur of the whole hotel. I especially love the buffet high tea and a glass of wine in front of the fireplace in the Sportsman’s Bar.
K. P.
Lovely hotel. A bit dated. Also managed to have no doorman to help with doors / bags on check in and check out. Bht of course there was when I entered and exitdd the hotel at other times.
E. N.
I liked the hotel. The room, service and staff were nice. I also used the gym which met my standards. Liked the ambience too.
D. D.
Covid has meant that they cannot run in buffet format, so they now deliver a tower of plates with one of everything per person.
M. P.
This is a beautiful Hotel in the art deco style. We would not stay anywhere else. Attention to detail is paramount and we love staying here.
S. C.
We celebrated my daughters Baby Shower with High Tea on Sunday at the Hyatt with a handful of friends. Definately a must for a special celebration or just catching up with the girls.
T. R.
The most beautiful hotel in Canberra. we had an outstanding stay and the the service was wonderful. Magnificent food and beautiful rooms. 5 stars!
J. Y.
Nice pool, not too many people
B. J.
Very good service, staff were fantastic. If you have the money well worth the stay
B. S.
Great hotel. Well placed to everything. Good food and accommodating staff. Clean and comfortable
.
D.
Love this hotel, perfect mix of old world and new. It's clean, beautiful and comfortable with one of the best beds I've slept in at any hotel . We are sad to be leaving.
B. S.
Wine bar and beautiful parlour room with open fire is a wonderful place to meet friends. A little expensive but it is your little treat to you surrounded by history and art.
D. S.
As a long time Hyatt stayer, Park Hyatt in Canberra is one of the more impressive properties available in the Hyatt portfolio. If you are after a weekend away or in Canberra for business, I would highly recommend the Park Hyatt to anyone
S. T.
Service was great. Room well presented, clean and spacious. Make sure to check out the Ambassador's Lounge.
K. K.
Canberra is amazing and this property is like a gem right in the middle of the city. Beautiful beyond belief and reminiscent of classic british colonial construction.
N. P.
Great room but promenade for dinner was a real let down.
V. T.
Excellent place to stay whilst in Canberra
Great service and food in the restaurant
v. s.
I love this place, rooms are very spacious bathrooms are big. Level of service is really A,one. Staff is very friendly & understanding
C. D.
Needs a spruce up. Rooms a bit freyed Food at breakfast not 5 star. Very lovely and helpful staff but overall would say it's not good value.
E. S.
Luxurious hotel with attentive staff. When I have had any complaint they have bent over backwards to make sure it gets resolved. Great service.
S. M.
It has a classic flavor to it. Rooms are basic five star. The building is classic. This place matches Canberra theme nicely
M. N.
Beautiful venue, easy reasonably priced parking, very comfortable conference setting with delicious finger food and great coffee to match the service
J. R.
This is a great hotel. Fantastic facilities and a really relaxed vibe. Rooms are well appointed and the staff are always helpful.
N. C.
Excellent quality rooms, excellent service. Location is not great in terms of dining, but several restaurants are available on the premises.
A. V.
Visiting the Hyatt Hotel Canberra need not consist of accommodation or a meal. They also do coffee and cake which is a good treat once in a while or for a special occasion.
M. W.
Service for such a high end hotel was not good. Staff interrupted our conversation poorly and seemed hesitant and inexperienced. Not what I would expect from the Hyatt. Lovely building
N. D.
I was there for a conference. Friendly staff and good food. Some of the fixtures are dated and need looking at but maybe the accommodation is much better.
A. B.
Without doubt one of the best hotel experiences around - anywhere. Airy, stylish and very comfortable with an authentic period Australian feel.
Hope it stays that way always.
H. S.
we stayed here for our tenth anniversary, it was everything we hoped for, amazing breakfast, ambiance and the rooms are beautiful, i'd highly recommend this for anyone in need of a romantic get away
J. R.
The Hyatt Canberra is a beautiful hotel spread over a large area with plenty of greenery. Staff are friendly and professional and the food is good.
a. r.
The best hotel in the town cross from beautiful Hyde park, beautiful marbles pillars, nice door man, greetings with Nice coffee place/drinks....and restaurants....
D. M.
Five star establishment steeped in Canberra history. One of the best places to dine in the territory.
J. S.
Very comfortable rooms lovely big bathroom! Lots of dining options. Will stay again.
B. B.
Nice, up market feeling. polite and eager to help staff, though the event catering was a little plain. Parking was easy.
C. R.
If you have issues with access, particularly if you need wheelchair access, go to the back door. It is flat there and then you can take a lift up and go to the front of the building to check in, if that is what you want to do.
A. H.
I attended the Hyatt for a conference and was very impressed by the quality of the venue and staff. The catering was also excellent and I would be pleased to attend another attend there in the future.
H. H.
Great place to stay, great service and amazing location. Easy access to main tourist attractions such as Parliament house and Canberra central within a few minutes by car
T. H. M.
The food in the open buffet is horrible and very over priced. I know it's the Hyatt but to pay that much for good that is worse than what you'd find in a food court is appalling.
D. H.
Just popped in to have a coffee ($7 for a large). Some areas of the hotel look great other bits look tattered. Friendly service
s. M.
Congratulations Hyatt Hotel for standing up for freedom of speech and not bowing to the attacks against your brand!
Stayed at the Hyatt two weeks ago and it was a wonderful experience and will be back!
M. S.
Nice hotel... one of the better in Canberra. Have to admit however that when I have eaten there.... for the price was expensive and the food was very average.
C. M.
Lovely afternoon tea we had the antipasto platter was delicious
K.
Friendly staff delicious food, comfy bed. Room was spacious and the bathroom was amazing
B. E.
Beautiful hotel within walking distance of Canberra's main attractions. Comfy beds, great bar and good food in an elegant and picturesque building.
P. O. (.
Price was good, environment good, however, too far from the city center, $20 for each taxi ride. AC/ heater not working well at night.
s. a.
Lovely staff and the hotel is amazing the rooms are big and clean been there several time and always great experience and lovely staff and clean room is what I always look and it’s always clean the best king bed and the most comfortable bed and pillows always love to stay in this hotel
M. A.
Mobile reception is not good for Vodafone mobiles in some areas of the hotel. Telstra reception is good. Food services are a little on the pricey side, but is about average for hotels.
R. W.
A beautiful old world hotel and well kept.
J. F.
Awesome! Thanks again!
j. h.
Nice old school hotel lots of character and charm. Rooms a little dated however Clean and comfortable.
B. Q.
Stunning hotel! Gods services and room's facilities are fabulous. I love the bathroom, spacious and fancy.
A. P.
A good mix of the old and new, large room & bathroom, the bed was very comfortable, car park is metered between 8:30-5:30pm
W.
4.9/5. Great experience, mini bar was awesome, but the hotel didn't have a boxing ring which left me quite disappointed.
T. Y. L.
Beautiful older hotel with lots of open green space. Excellent buffet brekkie. Rooms are large and bathrooms even bigger. Nice bath products.
J. I.
Good location. Overall a pleasant stay.
Nice comfortable room. Stayed in Curtin suite. Only issue was the service. There was lack of attention to detail. We had a 2 night booking and despite champagne, chocolates & flowers being ordered for the room for the 1st night, they did not come through until being reminded when the room was serviced and stocked as requested on the second night. The Ambassador Room was like Qantas club on steroids with canapes being left to finish and not be replenished in a timely manner. At breakfast a 2nd coffee was ordered but it never arrived. Very nice breakfast food choices though with friendly egg cook making wonderful scrambled eggs.
C. G.
Went for high tea. It was excellent but a little pricey. Location is old style but in a good way.
D. R.
Easy to find, clean and smart. Great service and food. Good value.
A. H.
I attended the Hyatt for a conference and was very impressed by the quality of the venue and staff. The catering was also excellent and I would be pleased to attend another attend there in the future.

True luxury mixed with the feeling of an old-style hotel. Perfect for any trip to Canberra
C. C.
Lovely Hotel! Friendly and efficient staff. Great food and beautiful grounds and gardens.
J. G.
Visited the cafe after a citizenship ceremony at Albert Hall nearby. The arts and crafts decor and the old fashioned uniforms of the staff at the Hyatt makes such visits feel very special.
M. F.
A classic Australian art deco hotel
S. P.
Nice an d warm atmosphere. Service was friendly. Drinks were unsurprisingly on the dearer end of the scale though.
M. S.
Great location, near the lake and easy driving access to Parliament area. Not many restaurants nearby but hotel food is excellent.
B. M.
Lovely place, staff excellent, high tea tops.
E. R.
Amazing high tea, highly recommended, vegan options were delicious

Everything was seamless. Easiest check in and check out experience. Enjoyed the ambassadors club for evening canapes and drinks.
R. V.
Old and nice -- worth wandering just for the ambience. Food was really good. Did not stay though, just visited and eat at the restaurants.
V. N.
Great service, food was amazing! Little bit overpriced but for the buffet its definitely worth every cent
T. P.
There for high tea. Service and setting were excellent, food leaves a little to be desired. Otherwise an excellent afternoon.

A fabulous venue for High Tea. Great value, staff friendly. Service a little slow but they were busy.

N. B.
Beautiful, historic building & grounds in a fabulous location, very comfortable beds & rooms with helpful staff, we'll be back!
R. H.
Still the place to stay in Canberra. The buffet breakfast makes up for the slightly dated gym/pool.
E. O.
Great location, great service. Good place to host a function or have a classy lunch with your family
R. N.
Classic Canberra Art Deco style. Providing quality Breakfast and Hight Tea, as well as normal Hyatt quality accommodation and other restaurant services.
