R. N.Basic hotel but has everything you need! We just wanted to say how amazing the customer service was. The lovely gentleman who checked us in at reception remembered it was my birthday on check out day and gave me a birthday coffee. It made my morning!
They had a beautiful set up for Remembrance Day with candles and poppies. The guy who helped us had the most awesome hospitality skills and we will definitely stay again!
K. J.Simply put, the rooms are small, functional, and cheap. Location is handy to the northern suburbs and a short distance from the airport. Better to eat and shop in Dickson which is 5 min away.
B. K.Good ole Formula one, now called Ibis Budget. Another great stay. My Assistance Dog was treated with great respect and genuine care. He was provided with a blanket and sheet for his bed. Plenty of room for him too. Room and bedding clean and welcoming.
Great big bathroom, awsome for me as I needed the space for my disability. Wonderful staff, assisted with my bags and genuinely cared for our comfort.
Highly recommend Watson Ibis.

M. C.first up this is a Budget place.. so if you just want a bed and a shower and some comfort for the night then this'll be what ur looking for. more of an overnighter, not one for an extended stay really...
usually less than $100 a night, depending on your needs and as for food well... there's a Mc D's just down the way or in Dickson which has a club and more food choice.
PS: if u go to Dickson....take Antill street you will avoid all the lights on the main road and it comes right into Dickson,

Patrick the manager will do all within his power to ensure you have a great stay. Genie who does nights is such a caring, hard working person and also tries her best to meet everyone with a friendly smile and help address any needs or concerns to ensure your stay is the best it can be.
D. A.My 5* start with the guy with the glasses at the front desk. Absolute legend of a hospitality worker. Knows what he is doing and makes the guest feel welcome.
The room is simple and does the job, at that price point you can't expect the Ritz but beds are comfortable and the shower pressure is perfect and room is clean.
Not much around, more of a stopover and sleep spot but only a short 15min drive from the center and half price of the central hotels with free parking, so can't really beat that.

A.I write this as someone who stays in motels regularly and have experienced many of Canberra’s motels.
Writing as I stay here again, most outstanding is the genuine, friendly, helpful, thoughtful and supportive nature of everyone I have met in the hotel, it suggests to me a team that enjoys working together and a respectful management.
It really does make it feel like a home away from home, and as a female on their own, a safer environment also.
Beyond being friendly, I was surprised, very pleasantly, to be remembered so quickly.
Alongside all this, staff are also very respectful of privacy.
Love that I can call up and ask for particular type room which really helps with my work.
I notice how genuine the staff are to everyone, a sign of respect for all that is not easy to find.
This place feels super clean – an incredibly reassuring thing in these times.
The smallest issue the staff are prompt to check out for you.
There’s terrific communication between the staff.
More than just helpful with any issue raised, they regularly go that extra step to find the best solution for you.
Even the aspects that are not unreasonable for a budget hotel, shared microwave, iron - are kept, it seems, constantly cleaned and set up well, making them quite accessible.
Parking is great too, plenty of it, decent size parks, another aspect lacking in many motels.
The smaller type rooms are amazingly functional.
All of above makes the the lowest pricing you'll find in Canberra, particularly high value.
C. T.Stayed 5N as a tourist travelling with family. Exceptionally great service from every staff member every moment I interacted with them. Hotel is located at a convenient location if you stay there with a car. Heating, hot water, parking, room servicing, clean linen and basic hotel comforts were all present. Will stay again.

A. C.The room was tiny and we found a new nappy under the bed🤣🤣🤣🤣. The staff was really friendly and very helpful. The toilet and the shower was just like an aeroplane dunny. It was the smallest room we have ever stayed in. Price and staff was the only plus points.

The step up into the shower/toilet room is about 22cm in a tight space. A challenge on knees in the morning. Upon entering the room, juggling your bags and the carded door, there is a trip hazard at the door.

CONS: Very expensive breakfast with not much food selection. Far from city center and it's difficult to commute. Small toilet and bathroom. We found some hair on the bed and seems like the blanket hasn't been changed
S. A.Stayed at Ibis for 3 days. The service was amazing. Really friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are not too bad. Was staying on the 2nd floor of the hotel. It does not have lifts at the hotels which can be a problem for elderly folk. The cleaning staff comes daily to change the towels for you. They have only body soaps and no toothpaste in the room. Rooms have air conditioning and heating to use at your discretion. They do have continental breakfast in the morning from 7am to 9:30am daily.
T. B.The staff are very friendly and only to willing to help when asked. The room i stayed in was very clean and well kept and very basic but that was all i needed. It was cleaned daily while i was out which was nice. I have stayed at mining camps that would put this place to shame but as a budget accommodation option it worked out to be the ideal stay for me i wouldn't say no to coming back if i was down again.
B.This little hotel was perfect for its price. Sure, the rooms are quite small, the air vent in the toilets isn't all that great. But what do you expect for under $80 a night. There is a fridge and microwave, and if you book through Accorhotels you can buy breakfast for $1/day in advance. If not, it's $9/day.
Reception was very helpful, and unbelievably friendly. Compared to some of the bigger hotels, I'd say that the hospitality here was a lot nicer.

Shower/Toilet cubicle had non functional full flush on the loo. 3.52am building evacuation fire alarm got me up a little earlier than expected, thankfully false and staff dealt with very well, kept us on site and informed. Comforting to know the system is in good working order. Well handled and staff were very apologetic, was given a nice complimentary coffee on checking out. Will stay again, convenient location for my purpose. People working here are very courteous and helpful. Recommended.
J. Z.Stay here for 4 weeks, great place, all staffs offer 5 stars service especially ladies and Mr manager in the reception. Clean bed stuff warm water and very good WiFi speed with no problem playing YouTube. I saw rooms are detail cleaned and bed stuff changed after guests left everyday. There are also breakfast buffet in the morning. My family and I had a great time here.
L. L. H. T.The roome is good value for money. Nice and clean bed, sheet and quilt. Two towels are provided when you check in. A range of tea and coffee for your convenience. No hair dryer. Must request at front desk. The bath room is too small. Water from the shower got everywhere when you took a shower due to the lack of a glass door or curtain. Location is quite OK though there is no shopping nearby. Must go to the nearest suburb (Dickson) for dinner. Overall, it was a good experience staying at ibis budget hotel.

J. P.A modern 2-star hotel, the first I've seen in my travels so far. We stayed in a 3 people room that was a queen sized bed and a twin bunked on top. The bathroom (toilet and shower) is small and our sink was on the opposite side of the room, by the mini fridge (I think freezer actually). I think it's wonderful for work travel if you're only looking for a place to crash and sleep at. A good deal but only an alright place within Canberra.
J. R.A great value budget hotel ideal for a short stay. The staff are unreal, so friendly and helpful. The rooms are warm and clean, comfy bed great for a good nights sleep. You will need a car to get around as there isn’t much in the way of public transport however an Uber from the City Centre only cost us $11.

Noisy people in the rooms opposite ours, had to knock on their door numerous times and ask when they was in the corridor making more noise to be quiet. Not a good night's sleep but not the hotel's fault.

I. M.As the name says, this is a budget hotel. However, for the dollars it is very good. Some minor cleanliness issues on check in were sorted immediately. Staff were great, helpful and friendly at all hours - even when we were running a bit late for check-in.

What we didn't expect was to find that of the two disabled parking spots one was used by a staff member with no disability permit most of the time and the other filled with the laundry carts. Those 2 parks near the entry are important for people with disabilities.

It’s clean, the beds are comfy, rooms have ac and the windows in most rooms open a little so you can get fresh air which is a bonus in a motel. The staff are friendly and helpful. If you want a cheap place to stay just on the fringe of Canberra I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this ibis.
M. H.The room is quite small and not sound proof. The noise from the highway is loud. The bathroom was mouldy. Otherwise the room is reasonable for the price. Staff are friendly and service the room everyday. It's not very far from the city centre and it's right next to a servo which is convenient.
A. B.They did late check in and late checkout no extra cost $89 for a double and single bunk room... the shower was pretty small, Like a plastic cubicle slipped into the room but everything was very neat and well-presented and that price seemed quite good for what you get
S. A.so when I checked into my hotel room here, the bathroom was really dirty. I went downstairs and told the lady from reception and she happily organised housekeeping to come up and clean it. within 30mins housekeeping came "cleaned" it but didn't do a good job at all.
the lady then came up to make sure that housekeeping came and cleaned it and checked the bathroom and nor her or myself thought it was satisfactory. so the reception lady went well and truly above and beyond her job and came up and cleaned it herself after her shift ended.
I have stayed in thousands of different hotels, motels and hostels all over the world and no staff member at any og them has ever gone above and beyond for a customer like her.
ibis, can you please give your amazing reception lady a raise, bonus or atleast a major pat on the back for being awesome.and maybe a little extra training for your housekeeping staff.

D. V.It's a budget Ibis - set up for overnight stays and not much more. We found the staff mostly friendly and helpful; however, the room needed more attention from the housekeeping staff - the floor needed to be swept/vacuumed, and the table had a dried coffee spill on it. However, it's easy access to the rest of Canberra, and it's right next to a 24-hour petrol station, allowing you to get milk, etc.
P.Basic rooms as expected but staff are the most friendly i have met, and go out of their way to make your stay a happy one. Welcoming front desk staff like these are rarely found at hotels triple the price or more. Thank you.

M.Value for money budget hotel.Rooms are super clean ,staff is very friendly.Being a budget hotel you do not get toiletries like you do in other hotels but basic soals and toilet rolls are there.The breakfast is served at an extra charge of $9 but you dont get a lavish breakfast.Unless you dont want to move out of the hotel or are on a super tight budget,i guess breakfast can be skipped.Enough of car park available outside the hotel dedicated to its guests.

D. F.The general condition of the hotel was ok for its market segment, however when comparing to other (Sydney Airpot,Melbourne CIty, Sao Paolo) Ibis Budget, former Formule 1 I must say that I was disappointed,
- Extremely compact rooms, the smallest and less comfortable among the branch.
- Toilet pod style was a big down side, my mother had some trouble due to a large step to get in, fells like a trailer or pop-up hotel, also sink is inside room on the opposite side, what means, after use toilet hand washing is far, shaving in the room, and so on. In time, there a constant noise from toilet fan, which hasn't been cleaned in a while and dripping noise from somewhere inside the toilet pod.
- Heater in one of the rooms was not working.
A very important aspect is on arrival there was a heavy frying smell and guests common area just beside reception was being used for residents/staff dinner, kinda of felt like a backpacker at first.
- No lift available.
On the good side:
- Affordable, compatible with what is offered.
- Free parking for guests
- Relatively closed to city.
C. F.Just off the main road from NSW, the motel is only 10-15 drive north of the city centre. Our room was quite small, with not much room to spare once the suitcases had been brought in. Apart from a bar fridge, kettle and small TV there were no appliances or furnishes. It suited us as we just used it as a base to leave our things and sleep.
