The staff is hospitable and responsive to all your needs.
The access to the place is a little tricky, the restaurant is closed, the housekeeping service is patchy and their pool seems haunted and like a dungeon!
Besides those flaws, I recommend a nice little stay in this decent Hotel/ Service Apartment.

We had a very pleasant stay here. Great location, minutes walk to the bustling Canberra Centre. The room was neat and tidy with all the essentials. Parking was $15/day. We'll definitely come again on our next visit to Canberra.
S. W.Its very convenient for work. The rooms I've had have all been 1 bedroom apartments. The furniture in some of the rooms could use a revamp, in that they're fairly worn after years of use. That said, the beds have all been comfortable, the rooms very clean and I've slept very soundly, even when on the first floor at the front of the building. Staff are polite, welcoming and efficient. Have no problem staying there for as long as work puts me up there!
Z. F.My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights. It was a pleasant stay with friendly staff. The one bedroom apartment was clean and tidy with a reasonable amount of room. It was a good walking distance from most shops and restaurants. We had a lot of trouble swiping the card to enter the basement parking.
G. P.I booked with my daughter in a twin room. Room was OK, at my price level I didn't get house keeping, but if I needed anything (towels etc) I could ask. I did, and it took four hours and a follow up call to get some towels.
In the room were two single beds, and a chair. No couch, so the only place to eat was on the bed or the chair, a couch would have been good, as there was plenty of room. There was also a tear in the curtain, which I alerted them about when I left.
Car parking is available for $15 a night, but parking is tight, and it gets busy. Bonus is that it is close to Canberra itself, so you can park, and then walk most places to get a feed.
Be aware that they take the full amount, plus $100 bond at the beginning of your stay, then when you leave, they charge you the amount owing. The authorisation should drop off in 3 - 5 business days, but on my account it is showing as a debt, so I have basically given them over $1,200 and should get part of that back, in 3 - 5 days. Not real helpful if you've got a payment coming out, and you've had this amount put onto your account.
If I had known this I may well tried somewhere else.
The retaurant and bar were closed, but there seemed to be food being delivered whenever we were in reception.
There were also party people staying on Saturday night, which isn't an issue unless they decide to start talking loudly in the corridor at 1 AM.
C. F.Great location and reception staff were awesome. Service via email was also swift with answering questions prior to arrival so thanks for that! There is loud construction going on right next door from quite early and due to Covid, a lot of facilities are closed but I did not mark down for this. Marked down slightly due to the fact that for our 6 night stay, our room was never treated by room service even though we left the sign on the door to do service everyday except 1. The beds were average but comfortable enough. As a platinum member it felt like it wasn't acknowledged until I asked and received a few drinks which was appreciated. I will definitely stay here again though :)
A. M.This hotel is well positioned, however the cleaning was sub-par and definitely not what you would expect in a post-Covid world. If you have to cut back on staff due to the pandemic, the cleaning crew would be the LAST people I'd cut back on.

My tablet was somehow left behind and received a call from the Service Desk who arranged for it to be sent home. Arrived safely via delivery. Service was excellent and friendly with a smile. 😃
T. M.The property is easy to get to. The room we were assigned was lovely. We got a warm welcome at the hotel. The bed was amazing after driving all day long. The most wonderful thing is the pool is almost always empty. The kitchen is well supplied with the basics. I would highly recommend this hotel.
J. C.Firstly let me say that the staff were terrific and location was very convenient, unfortunately those are all the pros I can think of. The decore, furnishing and the amenities at this hotel were quite dated. The dimly lit corridors made the hotel feel like a low budget motel, even though it is priced like a five star hotel. I strongly believe that this hotel is in need of an overhaul, and cannot in good conscience recommend staying here. I mean for the price you can find much better accommodation.

Upon arriving we were greeted by a welcoming receptionist. The bed is the best thing about the room. At night- the lights were amazing. What a wonderful hotel to stay in.

L. N.Firstly the customer service from each person we talked to was fantastic, very friendly and helpful. The room was large and clean, it had a kitchen, 2 kings, 2 bathrooms, 2 TV's and a laundry. I really felt a value for money. It was $15 for parking, which seems around average however they were extremely tight spots which made it difficult to unpack and pack the car.
We were out all day but the cleaning happened when we returned later in the afternoon which was off and no Bible in the room, I found that weird.
M. “. S.The room layout and facilities were great! I did think that the place could do with a coat of paint - lots of marks on the walls. Oh and the housekeeping could have been slightly better. A mouldy bath plug, and an empty water bottle found under the bed.
The location was fantastic. Once all the construction around is done it will be quieter and it's just a short stroll to the central food districts.
T. O.Had a great stay for a week. Bianca, Daniel and Megan were really helpful local guides. They were knowledgeable of the local area and chose the perfect places for breakfast and dinner to suit our group. All staff we encountered were also very friendly and made us feel right at home. I would highly recommend this stay if nothing else but the staff!
The rooms were clean, well maintained, and spacious. It is well situated in the city of Canberra within walking distance of restaurants and shops. There is also great coffee available in the foyer from early morning!
o. m.The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean but I had a used shower cap in the box so was unable to use this. Also had a broken towel rack in the bathroom that kept on falling off the wall. Had to go down to reception each day to get fresh towels as they did not have anyone cleaning the rooms due to the public holidays
V. C.Very handy location, with an easy walk to lots of great cafes and bars. The rooms are spacious and clean, if a tiny bit worn around the edges. Cooking facilities are a bit on the basic side, but fine for reheating meals or cooking simple dishes. It's quiet, and the service is friendly and helpful.
D. H.Recently stayed here for 5 days for work. Had room 515 which is a self contained apartment. I usually stay at the Novotel when in town.
Nice big apartment with separate lounge, dining, kitchen, bedroom and en-suite with washing machine and clothes dryer.
The kitchen is fully equipped with glasses, cutlery, crockery, pots, pans, toaster, kettle, microwave, fridge and even a dishwasher. I was by myself, however, a couple could EASILY stay hear with all the creature comforts and lap it up.
If you're driving, there's secured underground parking for $15 a day, which is really reasonable. Other hotels charge up to $25.
The hotel itself is a 5 minute walk from the city center - shops, restaurants, bars etc and is literally surrounded by eateries and cool places to grab a drink.
I stay in a LOT of hotels around Australia with my work, so I've seen the good, bad and the ugly. This place has the potential of being great, just their housekeeping and restaurant let them down.
I would have given them five stars, however, housekeeping let them down a bit before I checked in and I had to clean a couple of things in the kitchen and bathroom. Nothing major, however very obvious to the eye, and that cost them one star unfortunately.
In addition, their in-house "restaurant" is on par with a local coffee shop/takeaway. The food, plates and presentation is way below average. They served me a pretty raw steak as you can see in the photo. I took one mouthful and left the rest. $39 down the drain. When I complained, they offered me a 20% discount on a meal I couldn't even eat. Do NOT eat at the "restaurant". There's plenty of much nicer places around. This cost them another star.
Such a pity. It all started off so well and I was so looking forward to giving my first 5 star review for a hotel. You started strong guys, just lost it in the details.
N. F.Friendly staff, clean and fairly comfortable rooms, slightly dated and stained in places but fairly good overall. The bed looked huge but was just two joined single beds, not very comfy. The docomo tv system is outdated and picture quality on the TV is poor. Rooms serviced daily, bring your own tea and coffee though as the stuff in the room is rubbish.
t. H.This motel is in a great place, close to every thing. The staff are friendly, and very helpful.
I must say though the room we are in is supposed to be disability friendly, it has some issues. Room 101, has a walk in shower though not big enough for a wheelchair bound person to access it, and the shower head should be hand held, and there is no handrail. The doorway to the bathroom is narrow, and is obstructed by the bed.
I hope management gets this information because any disabled person booking this room would be seriously disappointed and inconvenienced.
T. M.Easy access to tourist attractions. In short, the location is excellent. The rooms are big to say the least. The pool area is just beautiful. Its located in a great neighborhood. The staff of this hotel are always accommodating and very helpful. I can't wait to return with my husband.

This is a nice cosy hotel for business travel. The hotel has some great facilities like the swimming pool, sauna and gym for those of us that are fitness inclined. However I was very disappointed that a mere bottle of water was not offered complimentary. Another markdown is the fact that you cannot connect your laptop to the tv. Lighting in the rooms could be improved too. Despite all the bells and whistles, the hotel failed in the minor comforts which wouldn't even be a huge hit to the hotel's bottom line.
Otherwise, the location is quite nice with great restaurants, bars and cafes located a few minutes walk away and the new tram only a couple of minutes walk away. They have a 24hr menu which is also handy.

A. B.The hotel seems to be in a good central location. The check in process was easy and staff were polite. The room I had was spacious (509). The bed was quite hard though. The bathroom was pretty basic (shower over bath). One of my towels had a stain which looked like makeup of blood. Check out was easy too.
It's hard to give a detailed review after one night. I'd probably stay here again when in Canberra.

The noises of foot steps or door movement from upstairs strike you from time to time.
Bed and blanket were not comfy but pillows were good.

However, house keeping staff was helpful but replaced a broken one at first. 😂
In room dinnig service was fine, don't need to wait too long.
However, the punkin chicken salad I ordered was not recommended.
The grilled chicken was over cooked. 😢😢

J. V.Great hotel to stay at! Rooms are very big! you can seriously do cartwheels in there lol comfy beds and the staff here are very helpful and friendly. The indoor pool isn't super warm but still good enough to swin in. The sauna was great!

It was also freezing cold so the kids were shivering in about 5 minutes! But you need to stop charging $100 as a bond, it takes a month for the banks to release the funds and I travel a lot and don't want $300 to $400 a week tied up every week in bonds if I were to use hotels that charge this kind of bonds. S. S.I liked the room, I liked the location, but, to me, what really stood out the most was the people. To give a bit of context, I missed my flight to Canberra. I ended up arriving a little bit before 12am and I was just flat out tired. Bianca and Megan were really accommodating to me. They gave me suggestions for places to eat and things to do. They weren't rushing to check me into my room, they were thinking about me. They really just made me feel like I was at home. Next time I will definitely be coming back to the Mantra because I know their staff will treat me with the upmost respect. This time I found myself looking for a meal after 9:30pm on a Monday night. That's almost impossible to find in Canberra and a lot of hotels don't even have a kitchen these days. Fortunately, Mantra has some tempting meals on their room service menu. The lamb shank was just what I needed!
K. J.Very comfortable apartments. The one bedroom apartment is particularly spacious with a good sized balcony. The interiors are a little dated but not enough to bother me. It's located about a ten minute walk to a big shopping centre, and lots of food places.
z. h.Ticks all the boxes, superior suite was spacious and comfortable, apartment living with daily housekeeping. Location is central but you will have to pay for parking. Internet will cost you but Telstra reception is great. Late 90s early 00s style interior and clean. The restaurant has good dinner options.
M. R.Very friendly staff. Great location. Building, rooms, fixtures and fittings are all tired and dated. In-Room dining: Stay away from the pepper steak and green curry - I get the feeling they are not freshly made but days old as I got mildly sick from each one twice (so 4 occuances) and the rice was dry/hard on both occassions. Luckily there are dozens of fantastic places to eat at all within 500m or so.

m. p.Stayed at Mantra on Northbourne for 5 nights. Good location and for the most part the room was clean and comfortable. The dryer had rubbish in it, no hand towel supplied and needed to wash cooking pots before use. As it was very hot we wanted to use the pool and we were told it is out of use due to renovations and we could use one at another hotel by arrangement. Upon checkout we mentioned having use of a pool was a major factor in our decision to stay there. We were then told it was only closed for the day!. Would have been nice if we were told that or perhaps even to say it was only temporary check again daily. Given 40 degrees evey day this really spoilt what could have been a great stay.
J. D.Alright hotel. Things were generally okay, but not great. Lowlights were a musty smell in the rooms and coming from the aircon, a bathroom fan that can not be turned off, an old broken down couch, and curtains that could really use a wash. The bed wasn't bad, though, and the bathroom was quite clean and functional (though the sink was super low).

S. T.Stayed in a 1b apartment for 4 nights. Excellent location, friendly staff and inside the apartment was spacious and clean. However the apartment was basic and dated with only a view of the windowless government building opposite - balcony was dirty and pretty much unusable.
Good choice if you can get a deal - we used ANZ points so it felt like good value - but don’t expect to be wowed!

Cons: lifts are crap and buttons don't work half the time, cooking equipment was inadequate for a two month stay and was missing quite a lot of utensils. House keeping kept messing with my air con settings until I hid the remote, shower baths, I hate shower baths, bedroom furniture was impractical ie bed side table draws fit a packet of condoms and that's about it.
Why have I still given it 5 stars? Because the staff at reception were amazing! Especially Brittany and Maria if it wasn't for their service mantra would be getting 1 star.
T. M.A quality motel right in the middle of everything Canberras CBD has to offer. There is a lot to do around the hotel. Ladies at the front desk were wonderful. Most of the people who work there are very professional. Staff were very friendly but the rooms are dates and need upgrading.
A. D.I've stayed here a few times. The bathroom/kitchen are a little dated, but always clean. Rooms facing Northbourne Ave can be a bit noisy. The staff are always quick, friendly and courteous. Split system in the bedroom makes it easier to control temperature. Wifi is paid, but that seems standard in this level of accommodation in Canberra.

Great twin accomodation, good air conditioning & windows that opened for fresh air when needed which most hotels don't have. Had bath/shower hand rails, ample car parking, could walk to War Memorial, 2 blocks from City Centre & Maccas around the corner for breakfast! Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends....

The shower heads could be a little higher, but the world wasn't made for giants. Anyone under 6 foot will have no problem.

E.arrived 15/2/2013 given key to room 9th floor,start unpacking, get ph call given wrong room.pack up move to 1st floor, go out for a drink happy hour have 1 drink, told Bundy rum isn't a standard spirit which it is , they want $7.50 instead of $4.00 go back to room key doesn't work back to reception key re done.
5am Saturday morn truck delivery to hotel parks right beside our window with motor running, by 8.30am another 2 trucks with refrigerated units running non stop.
$12.00 parking fee not mentioned on wotif site. Wife complains about all this at reception,no discount no sleep and virtually called liars about trucks and parking fee.
they also say wi fi then want $20 per day ripoff Not Happy Mantra
