Great Location, Great Staff but NO PARKING ON SITE….you will have to park in a massive shopping center, remember where you parked your car, remember which entrance you came out of the shopping center and drag your luggage to the hotel. We have never encountered a hotel with NO in house parking until now. If we had known this, we would never have booked this property, no matter how affordable.

I highly recommend the Sebel Civic Canberra. Myself and two girlfriends spent the weekend there in one of the family rooms. Very clean and neat. Lovely atmosphere and fabulous staff. The young man who checked us in was a delight and not only let us check in two hours early but gave us a late check out on Sunday as well even before we asked. The restaurant was closed when we arrived and we told him that we planned on booking for dinner there that night and he said he would do that for us which was lovely. It’s so close to everything in Canberra especially the city shops. I’d never stay anywhere else. Fabulous I highly recommend.

Well designed room, simple yet elegant, high level of functionality. Great hospitality from the reception. Good price & we got a complimentary bootle of wine!

It was a great stay in Sebel Canberra.
I stayed here for 3 nights for a family trip.
Like everyone else, we were struggling with parking but finally managed to park nearby.
Liam, one of the male reception staff tried to help us find best spots with considerate advice.
When we first arrived, there was a bit of issues in the room so I reported.
Liam( same reception male staff) immediately came to sort out the problems and apologised very politely.
Of course, he hasn't done anything wrong. Room condition wasn't his duty.
His service was so inspirational.
I really appreciate your quality service.
We also had another good memory here with housekeeping staff that my son left some thank you notes written in our room and when we got back after tour, there was a sweet reply 'thank you' note from housekeeping staff.
My son was very happy to get the reply.
If it's considered to be a small thing by some people but we all have good memories in our childhood.
No doubt exchanging sweet messages with hotel staff can be a beautiful memory to my children.
Thank you so much to the amazing housekeeping staff.
Our family look forward to seeing the beautiful staff again, next time.

It's a three star hotel. Nothing more, nothing less.
We booked a family apartment. It was clean, tidy, and totally lacking in character. Staff were good. Bed was really comfy. The location is very good, near to the Canberra Centre, shops and restaurants. But some big downsides:
- HDMI input is locked out of the (tiny) TV. Why do this?? Never had this happen in a hotel and when my kid wants to watch Netflix he's stuck on the laptop.
- Couch only sat two people. Isn't this meant to be a family apartment?
- The room was suitable for disabled people, which is fine... except that when you have a shower, the water goes all over the floor due to lack of shower walls. Not sure if the other apartments are different?
- The parking was a pain. It's $14 a day at the Canberra Centre. The manager at the car park very kindly allowed us to exit multiple times a day for the $14. If he hadn't... it's $14 each time you leave and re-enter. But the hotel didn't hide the fact that it doesn't have parking, so you can't take off marks for that.
Overall, if I was going on business for a night or two, it's fine. For a family trip I'd check other options.

Had a great time staying at the Sebel, convenient location with only a 2 min walk to Canberra city shopping centre. They do your bed everyday and provide whatever you ask for (for coffee pods and milk). Rooms have all the basic necessities and are very modern, stylish and clean.
Unfortunately you will need to park at the shopping centre since they don’t have any parking included but it’s only $2 a day.
R. C.
Pros. Good location. Quiet. Decent size rooms. Wireless charging. Free wifi. Good air conditioning.
Cons. Housekeeping let's this place down. Toiletries, coffee pods and tissues not replenished. Carpet stains. No parking. Lobby littered with empty chip bags and bottles.
T. A.
Loved it! The parking was not that much of a big deal as others have mentioned. just park in the Civic centre located behind the hotel. The car park is managed by Secure car parks. Upon entry head the car park management office located on the first floor next the Star car wash and ask for a overnight validation ticket. Its $14.00 for 24 hours. It's a 5 min walk from the hotel. The rooms are generous in size and quite. Very modern and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

After reading the reviews on Google and TripAdvisor I was hesitant to book The Sebel for a last minute trip to Canberra. However, our experience was nothing short of perfect. We stayed for 3 nights and had a lovely stay. From the moment we arrived we had a very helpful gentleman at the desk, I think it was Liam and Daniel, give us all the insider hints and tips from parking to places to eat and things to do and see. The room was clean and we had no issues with house keeping. It was very handy to be so close to so many restaurants, bus stops and car parks. Especially for someone who had never been to Canberra before. On our final day, we had made las minute plans to stay another night and had even booked an extra room but unfortunately due to the covid situation in NSW we had to fly back to Perth. There was a lovely lady at reception who kindly refunded our money for the additional booking we suddenly had to cancel hours after making it.
It was very affordable and as ACOR members it had the extra benefits of points and a free drink for staying there. Should we come back to Canberra again. we would definitely stay here. It was very affordable and central to everything.
S. S.
Good location. Reasonable rooms. There is often only one person on at Reception, so it can be a wait for service. I don't recommend Wild Thyme for breakfast.
K. D. R.
The beds were so comfy, I slept almost the whole day. Are u able to tell me what mattress is? It really did wonders. The inconvenience was the walk to the shopping centre and back. The restaurant service was abit slow but the food was good. I would come back here.
E. F.
The hight of luxury for such a well priced hotel, the decor and amenities are stunning and so well cleaned.
The restaurant down stairs is conveniently situated and outstanding.
The hotel itself presents as an exceptional venue, the rooms are well sized with modern minimalist decor, not to mention fitted with a modern, stylish kitchenette including a stove top to allow for in-room cooking. The bathrooms are above average.
The only downside is the lack of on-site parking and provision of other parking.
T.
The treatment we received on our stay was amazing. The rooms were clean and spacious, the food was incredible! The parking was limited but we received a lot of advice from the wonderful man at the front desk. 5/5 can't wait for our next stay.
A. R.
Great service, clean apartment and good amenities. Parking was SUCH a drama. There is no easy place to stop your car to unload luggage. We parked around the back in a 2hr limit parking spot and just had to keep paying every 2hrs until the meter stopped at 530pm(I think). Starts back up at 830am so make sure you pay for parking again!
Great location, 3min walk to Canberra civic shopping centre and a park for kids.
G. B.
We were allocated a disabled room in-liu of a family suite, no real concern with that, however if someone was in a wheelchair they would struggle to reach the blind chain to raise or lower. Blackout blinds without curtains doesn't make any sense
Whilst the food was ok, the breakfast service was laborious and you will need to allow extra time
J. L.
Nice hotel, however, ordered room service only to learn I had to collect for myself from restaurant downstairs. Food was awful! Parking was non-existent. Had to park in shopping centre. Location was good.
J. G.
Conveniently located across the ACT Legislative Assembly Building, The Sebel Canberra, with all amenities nearby, is a comfortable place to stay for work. However, there is no parking. Don't look for leisure facilities like a swimming pool or spa.
M. J.
Very clean, tidy room with very comfortable bed , friendly receptionists and cleaners , I really enjoyed my three nights stay. Looking forward to come again . Thank you.
J.
3 starts for a 3 star hotel. It's neither good or bad. Rooms seemed to be relatively be and clean. One thing to note is there is no on-site parking. It requires a short walk to park in the shipping centre close by. Probably wouldn't go back.
K. R.
We stayed for two nights in the Superior Queen room and thoroughly enjoyed a weekend of affordable luxury. The decor is modern and and sleek, falling somewhere between the economy of a Novotel sand the upmarket Sofitel. The room was fully equipped with a kitchen, including stovetop, microwave and dishwasher which makes it easy to cook your own food or alternatively dine in the restaurant downstairs. Close to the Canberra Centre and a short walk from restaurants and pubs, the location is ideal. The only downside was limited parking. However, the staff were so helpful in assisting us with finding a car park, that I can not detract a star for this. Many thanks to Liam the receptionist especially. They were all very friendly and went above and beyond to help us during our stay.
We also received late checkout on a Sunday free of charge. $271 for a two night stay was extremely good value for the service we received, comparable to airBnB and economy options. There is nowhere else we would rather stay during our next visit to Canberra!
N. C.
Stayed there for two weeks - nothing special. Small rooms, bathroom fan stuck on permanently, no parking. Wifi very slow (2-3mbps) and no capacity to plug own device/HDMI cable into TV. Tried to charge me incorrect room rate and called a week after I left insisting I never paid (they never charged my card properly). You can probably do better in Canberra - probably ok if you can get a cheap room rate.
s. h.
Beautiful hotel, excellent customer service and the restaurant was great. My only qualm was I tried hooking up my nintendo switch to the hotel tv with a hdmi cable so I could play video games and chill after a long journey, but the tv won't let you, it wants you to pay to watch content which is fine, but let people bring their own entertainment too. I have stayed at so many hotels and not being able to use the hdmi port on a tv is a first.
A.
Recently renovated, quaint rooms with your essential services, rooms were a little small but it was only for the night. Centrally located, so perfect if you want to head out into the city for drinks only a 3 minute stroll to the local precinct.
G. K.
Perfectly situated in Canberra city, 1min walk to Canberra Central that is a massive shopping centre. Many restaurants and cafes.
The hotel itself is clean and modern. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which was clean, spacious and confertable. For the price you pay it was a great little find.
J. W.
Decent value for money for a new hotel in the middle of Canberra. The room (with a queen and a single bed) felt a little smaller than pictured, but was comfortable enough for 3 adults.
The bed was fairly comfortable, but pillows flatten out very easily (in particular if you have a giant noggin).
Included breakfast was average. Would recommend the hotel add a few more tables and chairs in the free space in the dining area to better deal with the crowds and eliminate the wait time.
G. B.
Was a good place for a brief overnight stay, nice clean spacious room. No on site parking , a small carpark at the rear which has 3 hour paid parking during the day. But if lucky to get a spot you can park there from 530pm till 8am.
V. D.
Good location. There is no parking within hotel complex however Canberra Center (5min walk) has 24hr parking for reasonable amount. My room was a bit dusty but overall was clean. Staff were helpful.
W. N.
Top floor queen bed room with small kitchenette. Nice view. Friendly staff. Nice buffet breakfast. 3 fast lifts but no swipe card required to access the different floors. Questionable security.
G.
Great brand new hotel in the centre of Canberra CBD. Exec King room was very spacious with great amenities and nice view. The hotel has lovely furnishings. Staff were wonderful, and breakfast was a great addition as part of their opening special. Would stay again.
K. C.
We decided to give this new hotel a try. It is a standard business hotel as can be expected for Canberra.
Our reservation was for the Executive Room which states “Luxurious room with City views”. First impressions were underwhelming as can be seen in the included images - first floor with views of the construction site across from the front of the hotel.
The room is modest and comfortable. At least it is clean when compared to other hotels in Canberra.
The front desk were methodical and business-like. There was a lack of warmth compared to many of the other Accor hotels we have visited in Australia and overseas.
As mentioned by others there is no parking on premises. I chose to park on the rooftop of Canberra centre which is meant to be $11 per 24 hour period per entry. We shall see.
G. B.
Comfortable centrally located with clean spacious rooms. No parking on site, so be prepared, wifi was very slow. Staff were friendly and helpful onsite even though I was unable to get one to answer the phone earlier in the day.
Z. R.
Beautiful deco, black gold and marble accents everywhere. Although because it is new there is only parking out the front, (free on weekends) but there is limited spaces and parking is a block away (not onsite).
Buffet breakfast was delicious, but arrive early as there aren't enough tables for people wanting to eat. Most people had to be turned away, even if they had breakfast included with their booking.
Little note: Pillow options were the firm and high or feather down ones :(
Gave 4 stars because no parking, and pillows were 👎
A. S.
Close to everything, nice staff, modern rooms kitted out with good TVs and wireless chargers. Be mindful that there is no onsite parking however the Target carpark at Canberra Central was more affordable overnight than the signs suggest.
Partial lake views from executive rooms may not apply to all rooms as mine was facing the right way but could only see other buildings.
S. Y.
Not impressed with this hotel. Good location and affordable rates but that's about it. Got the 1BR apt unit which was a weird configuration with a handicap toilet. Front desk service was a little rude and not pleasant at all. No onsite parking and lack of facilities compared to other hotels. Much better hotels in Canberra available.
S. B.
Basic but new, clean and convenient
The hotel is a few months old (I believe opened in May 2019), so everything is fresh, nice, modern, in great condition, and clean. Also very reasonably priced. Our room was nicely sized, had very basic decor, and a convenient little kitchenette. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at the hotel again, either on business travel or for leisure.
Pluses:
- Friendly staff.
- Convenient location.
- Enjoyable buffet breakfast.
- Three fast and quiet lifts.
- Comfortable beds.
- Shower with hand-shower.
- Fully equipped kitchenette.
- Good speed internet
Minuses:
- Parking was not available onsite.
- Curtains allowed light in the morning.
- Weirdly mounted tv in the studio area makes watching tv rather challenging.
A. B.
We came to the Sebel from elsewhere looking for a hotel that did not have any mould.
Sebel met that requirement well.
Clean room with unobtrusive 'constant' positive exhaust air flow for the bathroom.
Small sink and microwave and coffee maker in addition to the normal set of toaster and jug. And the small refrigerator had room for our things (not just the mini bar items).
Friendly helpful staff.
Great location.
The only downside is the bit of a walk to whichever public commercial carpark you choose to use (separate costs).
M. M.
This hotel is a mini apartment. It has all the kitchen amenities except dishwasher, laundry and dryer. The room is clean and interior is sleak. Location is walking distance to CBD Canberra. It is very good for international tourists but not so much for local Aussies as it does not have a parking lot. Good thing we came in the weekend and the parking fee in the nearby shopping centre is $2/day. Also our room comes with a free brekky and also good thing we came earlier around 8am. 10min late and we will be in a long queue. They have limited seating and it looks like everyone availed the free brekky room charge.
J. O.
Comfortable rooms. Good customer service. Breakfast restaurant is a bit small, so quite often have to wait for a table. No parking on site, and only ticketed parking nearby, so don’t bring a car to this hotel.
T. P.
Awesome staff. first thing they asked was eating options. gave us some great advice. Standard sebel rooms that regular travellers would know. Great pressure in shower
S. C.
This is a great hotel right in the heart of the Canberra CBD and is walking distance to pretty much everything - Canberra Centre, coffee shops, bars and restaurants. The room was nice with a good bed. The biggest issue I had with this hotel is the parking and the lack there of. There is no parking on site and for someone who is driving form interstate, this is a big negative. I had to drop off all my luggage in my room and then rush to park the car in the Canberra centre which is a short walk away.
Not having access to the car within easy reach created some practical issue for me. This was noticeably annoying to me. The car parking facilities at Canberra centre are good, but you need to go through all the levels of the car park to park on the roof top parking which offered a flat un-timed rate, which is great ($11 flat rate). Since I was travelling to meeting each day I was there, I chose not to go through the process of taking my car out and re-parking it everyday..so I took UBERS to each meeting.
If you are travelling without a car and solely utilising taxis and public transport, then this hotel is excellent.
Oh...one more negative, and a big issue as I was travelling for work...the WIFI is very slow to the point I could not work from my hotel room using the hotel network and just used my phone as a hot spot.
C. K.
Rooms are good size and pretty clean. Only down side is there is no on-site parking
T. H.
The room was comfortable and clean. Central location. Nice breakfast. Good service, especially Ryan at the front desk. He was one of the most helpful hotel staff members I have ever met.
J. H.
It's a very new hotel and we were very impressed with the presentation and the staff, access to a portacot would have being appreciated, the fold out bed in the couch formation was extremely uncomfortable. the area has a good variety of food around, you just have to look for it. do not expect Sunday morning coffee or breakfast in the Civic Centre as there was nothing open around the place.
M. E.
More Novotel than Sebel. Not sure how the 5 stars were obtained. Good location to shopping, cafes, bars and restaurants
Rooms were comfortable though ours wasn't serviced on the first day. No information in the room on WiFi password or hotel amenities. You will need to park your car in the Canberra centre 400m down the road.
G. G.
Clean, good sized rooms and the hotel is in a great location with good food and shops only minutes away. My preferred hotel whenever I am in Canberra.
A. S.
The room is good. Great location. No parking which is very inconvenient if you drive.
S. D.
Quick check-in, and Accor gold status recognised with an offer of a free drink from the mini-bar in lieu of a welcome drink.
My superior room on the 7th floor was furnished simply but comfortably and included a kitchenette, well-stocked minibar and Nespresso machine. The overall feeling was more serviced apartment than hotel room.
The hotel only opened in early June and there are still a few rough edges - plastic plants with the tags still on, leftover construction nails in the room and room key cards with the room number printed on them - great if you're always forgetting your room number, not so great if you're security conscious.
M.
It was the right decision to stay here. Spacious rooms ,& very clean with small kitchenettes. The only down side was check in was @ 2pm we got in 3:20pm & no parking facilities .
H. C.
Beautiful new hotel in the heart of town. Enjoyed free breakfast as opening special. I love going out for dinner so the location of the hotel is fantastic as it is within walking distance to many good restaurants in town. Modern outlook.
O. D.
Had a very comfortable stay. Great location for bus access to the city, parliament and airport. Walk to Floriade. Breakfast was spot on and we enjoyed the Nespresso machine in our room
v. g.
Nice and clean, rooms are studio like with a small kitchenette, perfect for short stay, has a nice restaurant, very clean and convenient location, will stay in again when in Canberra
J. S.
The layout of the family rooms are weird. Two single beds in the bedroom and the queen bed in the living room?
Also no parking is really annoying
P. E.
Nice hotel, four star Max but nobody on reception at night and until 8.00am this morning. So a bit casual with customer service.
H. M.
Really nice room, with big clean bathroom, and it had dual aspect views which was great for a basic level room. Staff all very friendly, let me check in early and all that. Very near to all the stuff in the Civic area.
J. U.
Room is nice and clean. Bed is comfy. Good location. However, need to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste.
w. j.
Rooms clean & comfortable. Good breakfast with excellent service . Most of all LUKE in the restaurant was the friendliest, polite & conscientious young man I’ve seen in years! He made my day.
C. E.
Good rooms and chic looking. Gym was a little sad and only open between 8am-10pm, the resteraunt downstairs was absolutely amazing
I. B.
The staff were lovely, and the breakfast food was tasty and fresh. The room was immaculate, with a private bathroom plus the rest. Parking? I found a spot nearby.
A. M.
Food and bar staff was great. Hotel and check in didn't feel to be same standard generally provided through the Accor network.
M. W. H.
We were impressed with amazing room it's new, modern and has a comfortable king sized bed. Breakfast was delicious and totally recommend it.
J. L.
Great location. Close to everything Canberra has to offer. No onsite parking. Pay for parking on street nearby or cheaper/safer at the centre nearby.
O. O.
Nice and clean hotel but no onsite parking and you have to pay for parking nearby around 10mins walk to the hotel which cost $13 per day
P. L.
Got the room on discount, was very happy. Full price would be a different story. Staff aren't very helpful.
A.
Staff welcomed us warmly as we came through the door. We were impressed by lobby and got an upgrade to king executive room with free breakfast.
A. B.
Amazing hotel experience. Everything from the staff to the room to the buffet breakfast was amazing and simply could not be faulted. Staff were extremely helpful!

Stayed here many times...little things annoy ..washers and soap not replaced..no sugar for coffee or tea..otherwise convenient nice hotel...not quite to Accor standards yet
M. A.
Perfect location in central Canberra - close to the main mall and also the restaurants and bars. Great value for money too!
A. F.
Room and cleanliness was fantastic however customer service really let it down during covid.
D. G.
Very good hotel and rooms are very good. Coffee in breakfast area is better than most hotels too!
T. M.
Comfy and clean, but lack of on site restaurant for dinner and onsite parking is a bit of a downer.
