T. P.Staff were friendly, helpful and made our stay a wonderful experience. If we needed anything extra, all we had to do was ask. From check in to check out, and through an earthquake, staff were always professional, helpful and approachable.
The continental breakfast was a great way to start the day. Being able to relax in the pool and spa was wonderful on the humid days.
We stayed over Christmas and the special breakfast that was put on was absolutely delicious.
l. r.Second time I have stayed here and it's my third time of having to be evacuated due to the fire alarm system in a approx 6 week timeframe. Which I know might be great with a fire but the three times were due to the hot water system/steam from the bathroom. Twice I was woken from a deep night sleep and stood in the street with other guests. I have booked for a weeks stay in Easter but I am having second thoughts due to previous stays with the very sensitive alarm system.
I hope if you stay here you will enjoy the great staff, breakfast and cleanliness of the rooms like I do.

L. R.Great place to stay and not to far of a walk to the centre of town. I stayed with my partner over Christmas 2021 and loved the free breakfast every day. The hotel put on a special Christmas breakfast obviously on Christmas day which was a lovely surprise.
The hotel is kept very clean and the staff were wonderful. I have highly recommended this place to others and looking forward to staying there over Easter 2022.
j. g.Had a great two night stay at Argus Hotel. The room was clean and the view was great. Located in the city but away from the noisy streets and the drunk people. They offer underground parking for a small price which is very convenient. Light breakfast, but has quite a few options, the staff was very friendly. They have a gym with a few machines, it has an aircon and a TV. The fact that the pool is open until 10 is a major plus. Definitely recommend staying here.

The only disappointment was the breakfasts in the morning, which only consisted of fresh fruit, cereal, coffee and tea, and toast with spreads.

Fridge a good size, capable of holding plenty of food and drinks. Would have appreciated small plates and cutlery. Underground carparking a bonus - $9 per day considerably cheaper than other hotels asking $25 per day. Free street parking from 5pm-8am for larger vehicles. Inhouse Chillies Restaurant happy to deliver food orders to room. Highly recommend hotel and will not hesitate to stay there again when next in Darwin.
D. Y.A very comfortable place to stay, the rooms are spacious with a tiny balcony. The continental breakfast was extensive and tasty. The Thai restaurant served a variety of tasty dishes, the staff were friendly and attentive.

J. R.99 dollars a night for the deluxe family room. This included a complimentary light breakfast, which was great, well stocked. Room was clean and receiptionist was attentive. They recognise a mistake was made in the payment and refunded us a booking fee charged incorrectly. They mistakenly charged a credit card surcharge when the room was paid via eftpos. Pool was small but very relaxing after a hot Darwin day.

The continental breakfast was very good and had everything you would expect. NOTE don't go to the thai restaurant in the hotel. The food was, well to say poor would be an understatement. Go out somewhere else.

J.I love this place. I stayed 2 nights on two different occasions when I visited in Feb 2021. The staff were kind, helpful, courteous and always had a welcoming smile on their faces. I think they might be the friendlist people in Darwin! (That's not to say other people in the city weren't friendly either though as most people were really nice.)
The rooms were spacious, modern, quiet and clean. They have good views over the city too! The only thing I didn't like was that the bathroom door was hard to open and I wished I could have kept them open when I wasn't showering. The little bin they had to keep the door open and you need to use so it would help ventilate out the steam was annoying and I kept accidentally kicking it.
The pool was really nice too and the included breakfast every day was a nice little bonus for such an affordable place. Really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely stay again if I'm ever up there again. J.D.
A. H.What a gem! We’ve stayed here ten nights and found almost everything to our liking. Rooms were spacious enough, cleaning was thorough, the light breakfast was good with enough choice to satisfy most people. That breakfast area doubled as a Thai/Indian restaurant of an evening and the food was fantastic. Staff were all polite and reception desk worked with us to solve a vexing problem of a guest who consistently forgot his room and persistently knocked on our door at 3am (we were moved to another floor/room). Would highly recommend as value for money, and we would stay here again. Thanks Argus for making our stay very comfortable.
S.The rooms are cosy and clean, the hotel is quiet and the staff are friendly. We had no problems during the stay. The breakfast does not have a huge selection but is basic continental. We did not use the pool as only stayed one night.
N. L.Spacious room, modern, stylish and comfy bed! We had a lovely stay and rest. It is also clean and tidy. Pool is also good enough to have a quick swim. Staff members are polite, esp the Hotel supervisor during day time and a staff member at a breakfast place were lovely. Location might be not in exactly central area, but it is just 10 minutes walk which is okay. The only down side is the wall, it is a non sound proof room which that would be an issue if the next door is noisy. But as I requested a quiet room earlier in advance, it was no issue at all! We have got a quiet and far away from the elevator! Thanks for the great hospitality.

Only VERY small complaint is bathroom is a little small and car parking very tight. Designed for small cars. But honestly. This is great. Booked for one night. After going to the room I booked another two nights. Highly recommended.

C. M.We stayed here in Jan 2021, and for the price you pay, you get a great place to stay. The breakfast area is so clean, and the restaurant area is a nice setting. At night, the restaurant operates as a Thai/Indian eatery. The staff are wonderful and the rooms are very clean. Our only real issue was the small bathroom, which was just too small. On top of that, the message that if you left the bathroom door open, and steam escaped and set off a smoke alarm, you would be fined, was a bit rude. Fix these 2 issues, and it would be 5 star. (Also, just as an FYI please note, parking on site is $9 per day extra, and on-road parking is charged between 8am and 5pm Mon - Fri).

Resection area also a lovely retreat especially while waiting for tours or taxi pick up. I also enjoyed the touch of free breakfast and newspaper in the morning. The plunge pool was enough space needed to cool off. My only gripe is to enter the pool and gym area is you had to walk through the hotel dining area.

S. C.I have to admit this hotel was better than I imagined. Reception staff were very accommodating, my room had a great view, it was clean, large, well air-conditioned and with good facilities. Brekkie was basics, but exactly what I needed. Staff were happy to accommodate a late checkout which was really helpful. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the walls were quite thin and I had a very loud neighbour that kept me up until early hours of the morning. I asked security if they could sort it out but nothing eventuated. Apart from this the experience was wonderful.

M. G.I was due to stay here on the 3.2.21 and due to the lock down in Perth was unable to fly to Darwin for out holiday. I cancelled our flights, car hire and other accommodation but unfortunately forgot to cancel our stay at The Angus Hotel. I did not realise this until I noticed a charge in my bank account for the night we were not there. I emailed them and explained my situation and was issued with a refund without any problems. The lady I dealt with was polite and understanding. My holiday has being delayed for 10 months now and I look forward to my stay at The Argus when I make it to Darwin then.
D. S.Clean rooms. We had a superior king but not sure what makes it superior. Much-publicised juliet balcony is very small with room for only 1 chair, so don't plan drinks out there! Service is lovely from all staff. 5 star service, actually, but the rooms are fairly basic. No tap apart from the bathroom, no cutlery or crockery or kitchenware despite a kitchenette style space. Breakfast is fine, again improved by lovely staff. Nice little pool for a cool down. Would stay again for the location and service.

B.I totally get that someone has to get the room near the lifts, however if you’re going to have rooms with little to no sound proofing, maybe put a message to respect the people stuck in those rooms? Both nights I had people standing right near the door after midnight chatting away like it was midday. The room itself is quite spacious though the bathroom quite small but it does the job. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. The downside to the room was the air condition that sounded louder than a Boeing taking off, and that was on low. Opening the sliding door during the day is better but with the noise outside at night, it’s a toss up at which noise you can get used to. The continental breakfast was enough to fill you up for a day of travelling around. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Overall it’s not the worst place I’ve stayed but I’d still be trying other places before I ventured back.

E. S.Clean and modern, with a simple continental breakfast included. Friendly and helpful staff allowed me a late check-out. Room itself had a strange layout (actually divided into 3 rooms and a tiny hallway), meaning it felt a little cramped. Good value and nice for a short stay.
C. O.I loved this hotel it should be 4.5 star. All the staff are Very friendly. The location is walking distance to all the attractions. The pool is great the gym is cute, the breakfast is included. The room is very spacious will full Foxtel channels and Netflix the wifi speed is very good. The room has a kettle and iron and a fridge the restaurant is very reasonable for dinner prices. The reception is 24/7 only a few minor things 1 no bar to purchase booze and the restaurant is not licenced and the other small thing is no room service or rooms made on a Sunday or public holiday. This place is great value for money and I would stay here again.

K. J.It is "ok". First you have to pay for parking after already purchasing a room to stay. The breakfast is pretty mundane but a great little add on. The pool is pathetic but available, the rooms are very small but have enough room for a bed. The rooms are sort of clean, the sheets are nice enough but there is deeper cleaning like doors etc that are missed frequently. There is a disgusting snotty mark on both sides of our bathroom door. So in all its a very so so hotel. Ok on a deal but I wouldn't wish to ever pay more.

R. R.It was a pleasant relaxing night staying at Argus Hotel. The room felt very comfortable and I slept very well, which is what I was hoping so thank you Argus, we will be back again soon. One let down was the amount of noise coming from the foyer outside the room, very loud talking and in this case someone coughing, this actually woke me up. Upon leaving the room to go downstairs to have breakfast at around 8am we observed two cleaners talking to each other in very loud tones, something needs to be done about that as some guests will still be sleeping as I was earlier!

T. M.Our room had nice views of the city. Very comfortable room. Do not expect to get any sleep past 5am as you will hear everything going on in the hallway. The complimentary continental breakfast had lots to choose from and was very satisfying. Value for money Things that could improve.
J. N.Room was quite big and nice view to the harbour. The bed was comfortable, the room and bathroom clean and the water pressure good. However, the showers are constructed in such a way that you easily hit your shin or elbow in it. The whole place had tiles and you could always hear what was going on in the hallway. As a lot of people go on tours in the early morning hours, you inevitably wake up at 6am. You can also hear the cleaners outside from about 7am, so ots hard to sleep in. Breakfast was quite basic but sufficient and the pool was small but lovely.

Slight problem with noisey neighbour, so we got up graded to a beautiful bigger room., fantastic view short walk to town, clean modern rooms, one thing i would recommend is a bath mat in the bath, other than that. .....loved it. Also general manager went or of his way and offered us a lift to mindle markets, this was much appreciated 😊

A continental breakfast was offered daily free to all guests, with fresh fruit, yoghurt, fresh bread to make toast and cold juice,it was the perfect way to start the day. The rooms, although small, were clean, modern and well presented.
V. C.Friendly staff, big and clean modern rooms which are fantastic for the price. There is a little pool and a little gym, but with plenty of other places to swim in Darwin (Darwin waterfront) and work out it doesn't really matter. They have a pretty substantial continental breakfast and I was super excited to see that they have Dutch chocolate sprinkles for toast hahaha. Would stay again. Also to the girl who moved things around for me last minute so that I could stay an extra night - thank you so much. She even honored the price I paid through Expedia.

Breakfast is a light continental offering which helps with an early start to the day. Parking is $9 a day but street parking on weekends is free. This hotel is within a few blocks walking distance to the main part of the cbd.

We stayed here our first night in Darwin and were so impressed we cancelled our booking at another hotel for our last night in Darwin and booked the Argus Hotel again, it is new, clean, comfortable with very pleasant staff. Complimentary breakfast is basic but fresh and adequate. Rooms stylish and roomy, great water views from level 7 . Free internet and an easy 10 minute walk to Woolworths and similar distance to car rental offices.

A very adequate continental breakfast was included in the price. It's a continental breakfast, but there's plenty of choice and plenty of food.

The rooms themselves are modern, consistently clean and the aircons are fantastic!!
There is also a tv in each room, so the kids can chill and watch cartoons and the adults can watch what they choose in the other room.
Beds are really comfy and the pillows are pretty good too!.
There is also a small balcony off each room.. The first time we stayed there hubby And I sat out on the balcony and had a couple of drinks and relaxed while the kids had an early night..
It was bliss!! Would highly recommend staying here :)

T. M.A group of us stayed at the Argus Hotel which is quite new. Only about 15 minutes easy walk into the city. The rooms were very clean and everything worked in each. The price was good considering I was there at the start of the dry and prices normally skyrocket in Darwin around this time.
