Great for families. Fun splash park for kids but a lot of the facilities need repairs and upgrades. Really need to put fans or air-conditioning in all the bedrooms of the cabins.

We stayed at this awesome park for a month. Great managers and staff - very helpful and friendly. Amenities are cleaned thoroughly daily. The grounds, gardens, pools & splash park are fantastic for kids and very well maintained. 7 minute drive to Coolalinga shops - Coles, Kmart etc. Local shops at Howard Springs (chemist, liquor, IGA, post office, tavern etc) is a 1 minute drive. 25 minute drive south of Darwin. We had a 22 foot van and the gorgeous, shaded site we had adjacent to the splash park was ample. Big 4 membership further reduced the great pricing. Highly recommend. 👍

Stayed in a cabin, clean and tidy. BBQ has not worked each time we’ve tried to use it, no electric frying pan or salad bowl, 2 saucepans and a small stove top frying pan which would have sufficed if the bbq was working. Squash courts advertised but locked at all times with out of order sign, the water at the water park has not much pressure to use all of the equipment. The two pools are clean but the park is looking tired and run down. Staff have been friendly.

Nice shady park
Plenty of tree's and plants for shade and birds. Some sites are small for a big caravans and you feel a bit squashed in
Hey i,m grateful that we got in, many tried but could not due to the place being booked full. Nice clean and modern facilities. It's a good spot. All good Jim.
E. D.
Villa 34. Roaches in room, toilet uncleaned. Fridge fell apart as I opened. Main light faulty. Room smelled like urine whilst aircon was off. Mold on the screen sliding doors and for some reason I could not stop sneezing. Water park and pools were fine, kids enjoyed it. I would return if I were to stay in a caravan but I won't be wasting money on a room again. Book for two nights, but left after one night. Cheap room but I guess you get what you pay for it.
J.
Dunno if it was this caravan park or not but me and my family were on a NT trip and we stopped in Howard Springs for a couple days and every single day we were here it bucketed 100ml of rain at exactly 4pm, beautiful lightning and thunderstorms.
J. L.
Great great place to stay peaceful the pool nice amenities clean and tidy only thing I was a little confused more than half of the amenities where shut for wet season but not complaining that still could use some probably reason for that loved every minute of Darwin will definitely stay here again
R. S.
Absolutely stunning. Highly recommend. Not only is there two pools, but a spa and a splash pad for the kids. There's a jumping pillow and playground too. Two different toilet blocks and amazing facilities inside them. Washing machines are $4 for a 40 minute wash and the dryer was free. The dog leash-free zone was our favourite though, absolutely amazing for our 7yo Kelpie X Whippet for a morning run. We had a run in with a big hole and flooded the car, not only did the lovely staff here extend our stay but also supported our car clean-out by letting us borrow a hose. We then had an ambulance-requiring issue quite late Sunday and the night staff were phenomenal with helping us out. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.
M. B.
Massive park with plenty of sites. Kids loved it due to having a splash park, 2 pools and a jumping pillow. Splash park and jumping pillow both have a hour of toddler only time each day which is an awesome idea.
Was reasonably priced and even better if you have a Big4 membership as you get 10% off plus free hour hire of pedal karts, late check out and early check in.
Wednesday night normally has live music and sausage sizzle however it was cancelled when we were there. Sunday night is Laksa night.
Definitely worth staying at for caravan sites near Darwin.
B. C.
The place is very nice and clean there a lot to for the kids, the olny thing that was letting it down was the cabin could use a bit of paint inside
M. L.
Good for family relaxing.
Cons:
Main Swimming pool doesn't have lights at all. Fully dark after 6.30pm
Reception Lady has no idea about hospitality. And very very strick rules for checkout time.
Please be sure "NO Excuses", you need to leave before 9.59am not 10.01am.

MY kids went to school with their kids what can we say only Top shelf out Here guys and affordable and Howard springs tavern got a mean five Star restaurant to ask the big?

We have thoroughly enjoyed our 10 days on drive through powered caravan Site number 24 this spot is incredible.......
A very private grassed area with screening plants in front close to pool and BBQ with table and chairs. Modern amenities
Park very well maintained
Close to Litchfield for day trips
23 min to Darwin plenty of shops in near vicinity
Staff super friendly and helpful
We were very reluctant to leave but had to continue our holiday
thankyou we will be back.

A very kid friendly resort style caravan park with water park and pool. Was put in the pet friendly area unfortunately. Not a fan of grey water on the ground. Makes think of collective biowaste on ground during covid. I'm sure with such high numbers every day they can afford some pvc piping to take grey water away from camp sites. Central bathrooms really run down and needing maintenance but the other bathrooms ensuited and modern. Dump point needs fixing with broken concrete on tank causing smells to waft over pool and camp sites.
F. F.
Staff very grumpy and definitely don’t appear to enjoy managing the park. Very strict rules that are firmly communicated. Felt like a child being lectured. Asked for some extra towels for the pool, and receptionist initially tried to say she didn’t think they had any left even though the park was half empty! I think she just couldn’t be bothered.
E.
I stayed here 6 months with my son. I felt very safe here. The owner & staff very helpful and friendly. Park was well maintained, there was the odd issue but they were right onto it. The location is out of town but that’s awesome. Gets very busy in peak season. I paid bit over $300 a week for a permanent site which was more than others like the coolalinga & Virginia parks but well worth the extra $$$ to feel safe & for the superior ammenities.
V. Y.
Great caravan park, stayed 5 nights, was great, lovely pool, plenty of shady spots. Good base to explore the area.
B. M.
Big family park outside Darwin close to Coolalinga shops and good access to Berry Springs or Fogg Dam bird conservation area. We also stayed at Hidden Valley closer to Darwin which is also worth a visit.
M. W.
A great family place. We stayed here for two plus weeks. Pools are good for all ages, the jumping trampoline is good fun, grounds well maintained and safe for kids to play, without too much supervision. It’s not close to the city about 30kms but coles/Woolworths supermarkets etc are a few kms away. If you’re staying awhile book your cabin carefully as some while sleeping 5 are very small. They remind me of sleeping on a train.

I recently had to make a last minute trip to Darwin and did not arrive at the airport till late at night.
BIG4 Howard Springs Holiday Park had everything layed out as they said, key and map so I could find my way was exactly as i was told they would be and everyone was super helpful, Thankyou for making this part of my sad time very easy.
-.
We booked the largest cabin available to fit six people, we were disappointed to find the main bed was only a double on wheels.
We would had preferred a queen to relax in after a long day in the sun.
The rooms were reasonably clean, and air conditioning was great.
Gas cooker was nice to make breakfast on in the morning. Would have preferred better cleaning supplies for doing dishes though. Very watered down dish soap and a rag wasn't really great to clean up with.
We ended up bringing a stick vacuum from home when we left to get the sand off the floor as the sweeper provided was only spreading it around.
Doesn't appear to be a noise cut off either in the park as both nights we stayed people in the tents were pumping music until 1 AM.
The dinocars or pedal go karts were the highlight for the kids, ended up costing us a mini fortune renting it out multiple times. 😄
Public porta potty smell was very over powering near the spa and we couldn't stand the smell enough to go in.
All in all, the kids had fun and we relaxed for a little while.
G. T.
We had a powered site directly across from the newly renovated ammenities block, which has a disabled access room. The staff here are super friendly, and always available to help with any problems. The park is flat, and would highly recommend this park to anybody travelling with a wheelchair or other restriction on mobility. Also being pet friendly is a great bonus. The outdoor staff ensure that the grounds are kept tidy and clean.
C. P.
The park is neat, clean, tidy and well maintained. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The amenities are spotless and decorative. There are many caravan sites, cabins and lots of recreational sites for kids and adults. A great park to stay at, in a lively location
F. R. V.
We had a cabin which was fairly standard and in good working order. The park has a total of 5 pools (2 larger ones, 1 medium and 2 bubble baths), which is great. For the kids there's also a water splash park, a jumping pillow and a playground. The only drawbacks were that we didn't have WiFi reception (which would have been free for 1 hour per day) and that the smell from the tanks behind cabins 15 & 16 was a times a bit annoying (we were in cabin 15).
B. K.
We stayed here for 9 nights while my husband worked and also caught up with the in laws that were in a round Australia trip.
We have a 3 & 1 year old and it was a great place for them.1
We stayed in2 different cabins a 2 bed then a 3 bedroom.
The 3 bedroom was amazing but the 2 was too cramped for the 2 kids.
Facilities are great, staff great and extremely well maintained.
Bins never smelled, staff were friendly and helpful.
L. W.
We were a little disappointed with our site. Walking around after we set up we discovered plenty of lovely grassy sites but to late to move. Consider we booked in for a week it would have been nice to have one of those. The toilets and showers however were new and very clean. Overall the park was good
J. R.
A great place to stay friendly staff excellent facilities pools spa's kids entertainment jumping castle lovely shade trees good sized sites all you could ever want and not over priced we stayed there 10 days and will be going back
D. K.
While I found the park friendly, the actual van sites were not large enough, to much obstruction near sites, the posts that the site numbers are on are a problem they need to be screwed into the front of the cement pads,, .. your reception area needs to be brightened up its not very welcoming. ...but the staff were good , amenities lovely, great area for kids ...and a friendly atmosphere close to Darwin and shopping centres.....
C. C.
Lots of trees and green grass. Close to everything except public transport (from what we saw). Sites are a bit tight if travelling with a big van. Pools are lovely. Dog friendly with a sectipn of the park allocated to pets and their owners. Prices go up 1st June for the peak dry season. Would certainly stay again.
R. M.
Good park, 2 pools water park big bouncing mat. Clean modern bathrooms and off leash dog park.
J. O.
Fantastic Facilities, being that far out of Darwin was no issue. We stayed 10 nights and found it very peaceful. Unlike other caravan parks we were well informed of events via sms which was great. The water park for kids was excellent and atmosphere excellent...
M. B.
Fabulous park, very neat and clean. Cabins have everything you could need. Great pool, splash park and jumping pillow, awesome for kiddies. Would have given 5 stars but had to wait (with an anxious 2yo) for the pillow to inflate.
H. W.
My husband and I booked in for a week and stayed 3 weeks. What an amazing place. Good friendly staff, Candice, Craig, George and Ross were great in every way possible. Craig even went out of his way to take us fishing with his two wonderfully polite boys. thank you!! The caravan site itself was large and had lots of green grass. Monday nights entertainment and sausage sizzle is a must, as are the other activities. We will most definitely come back and have no hesitation in recommending this park to everyone. :)
B. M.
Our 13 nights was great. For a busy park it was really quiet. The whole park was clean & looked after. Great facilities for children and adults. We had a 2 bedroom cabin and this was quite roomy.
K. B.
One of the best if not the best caravan park I've ever been in. Their amenities are second to none. Good size sites, friendly staff and a bus to the Mindil Market each Thursday ($12.00 per head return).
M. B.
Huge park, but quite away from Darwin. It's been very dry this year and everywhere is very dry. Numerous shady sites and two nice pools. Make sure you get a site away from the road to avoid the noise.
R. R.
Lovely clean rooms, good location as its tucked away and nice and quiet. Some of the areas need some TLC though, the water park needs some work done to it. A lot of features not working and the ones that are need more water pressure
P. H.
Loved this caravan park for its central position to attractions as well as shopping. That atmosphere at the caravan park is fantastic along with the great facilities and staff who are very friendly and helpful which makes an enjoyable stay. Would recommend this caravan park to all to stay here.
N. B.
Great setup! Beautiful staff well organised and excellent facilities
D. T.
A wonderful friendly greeting when we rang to enquire, great park, great site, recommend
L. H.
Lovely clean amenities, great washing machines and lines. Awesome pools. Only complaint is sit is very small and they do pack a lot of vans, tents, motorhomes in a small area.
J. C.
Great place to stay and beautiful surroundings, beautiful pool and fabulous staff, helpful hints and ideas. Great place
B. T.
Nice family holiday park in a relaxed little town. Easy access to national parks and Darwin. I would suggest taking your own vehicle or renting one. Big4 Howard Springs is a great base to explore from!
K. H.
Brilliant park.. well equipped for the family with awesome water park and jumping pillow. The pools were huge and amazing, plenty of room for everyone. Lovely well maintained park and huge personal bathrooms... loved it !!
B. D.
Was great the park was excellent
We stayed in an Echo Tent. Which was comfortable and clean the only thing I would want again would be an overhead light because by 6.30 pm was so dark and the only light we had was the small bed light
Other that would recommend the park
Thank you
M. K.
It’s an ok park, nothing major for the price compared folgo other around
c. f.
Very tidy and clean. Office staff is respectable. Great place for kids. Highly recommended.
I. a. M. M.
Stop #39 on our lap of Aus with two dogs. Very good park with one of the biggest park swimming pools weve seen. A short walk into Howard Springs village. Lots of rennovation work being done so will probably look smick for the peak season
A. B.
Great Staycation with our Grandchildren so much for them to do Loved the Peacocks and Pool area was awesome 👍
L. C.
Great caravan park. It's our 2nd time there, and it won't be our last.
J. M.
Nearly didn't stay in light of previous negative reviews. So glad we decided to stay. Our experience thus far is entirely the opposite to that of previous reviewers. Staff are friendly and helpful, the powered site is generous and shady - a very pleasant place to stay.
D. E.
Absolutely loved our visit. Friendly staff, clean accommodations, super comfy bed, lovely facilities for the kids. Was such a relaxing place to unwind. Would definitely recommend.
F. M.
Over the years it has become our 2cnd home. Its our 15th year and as we are from sth gippsland the dry is our 6 month summer. The staff and administration have always been helpful pleasant. 15 visits speak for themselves and there are other long term visitors like us that keep returning
R. P.
Great for kids - pools, jumping pillow and water play park, clean and spacious cabins with most things we need (missing sharp knife, chopping board, grater). Huge park.
G. d. K.
We were there in April and May 2011, at four different occasions. Pleasant reception, kind people around us. Howard Springs was our home away from home. We enjoyed it we'll go back at once.
I. M.
Nice quiet location great for families a large sized pool and a smaller pool. Howard springs recreation area is a must visit, just down the road, take some bait fish to feed the large barramundi and turtles in the springs dam.
M. M.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Howard Springs Big4 we had great grass sites beside the pool, clean and tidy imenities. ..great friendly staff would certainly recommend this park

S. R.
This has to be the best caravan park near Darwin. Very green and Shady with sites to suit all types of travellers.
J. M.
Needs to be updated. First night put in old cabin with ants in fridge and in need of a good clean. Upgraded next day which was better but cabins need updating.
S. B.

Great place to stay, either short term or long term. Plenty of facilities, shops are only 800 metres from the caravan park, and caravan park has its own shop as well. Pools and spa are great. Plenty of space and great people here as well. Definitely worth staying here.
